With attacks against Christians on the rise in majority-Muslim nations in the Middle East, experts say the future of Christianity in the region is gravely threatened.  From the most restrictive countries to the more open ones, Christians are facing an uphill battle for survival in a majority of Middle Eastern countries. About 200 Dead Birds Found in South Dakota

Officials are trying to determine what killed more than 200 birds in the South Dakota city of Yankton.  The dead starlings were found in a downtown area where they had been congregating instead of migrating for the winter. Yankton Animal Control Officer Lisa Brasel tells the Press & Dakotan that a veterinarian didn’t immediately find anything wrong with them.  Read more.

Iraqi Christian: “Take a look at what the Muslims doing to the Christian in Iraq everyday. Over 80 people were beheaded in a single day during a Sunday mass. The youngest one were a 4 months old baby that was beheaded front of her parents and throw the head at her mom. Can you please please please help us?”

7000 Buffalo Die in Vietnam

200 dead cows in Wisconsin are not the only dead livestock being reported in the world today. Over the weekend a report of 7000 dead buffalo and cows from Vietnam is also making news. These two reports, coming on the heels of the dead birds and dead fish reports in recent weeks, seem to hype up this dead animal mystery.  Read more.

US: Pelicans Turn Up Sick, Dead Off Florida Coast

Hundreds of Eastern brown pelicans, some with missing wings and frostbite, have been injured or killed in the St. Johns River the past couple of weeks in the Mayport area.   The exact reason is unknown but the cold weather could have caused hypothermia when the birds landed in the water. The pelicans have been losing a protective coating they have on their body to shield their feathers from becoming saturated by water.   Cindy Mosling, co-founder of the Bird Emergency Aid and Kare Sanctuary on Big Talbot Island, thinks chemicals in the water could be the culprit.  Read more.

Hundreds of dead seals in Labrador

People on the north coast of Labrador say scores of dead seals have been washing ashore since early December. A conservation officer with the area’s Inuit government estimated late last week that hundreds of adult and young seals have died in the area between Hopedale and Makkovik this winter.  Read more.

The 200 dead cattle were discovered on a farm field on 4th Street in Amherst. Sunday, the bodies were taken out in semi-loads to be disposed of.  The farm’s veterinarian says preliminary results show the animals died of acute interstitial pneumonia, also known as AIP. Samples from the dead animals were sent to Madison for testing.  Read more.

Flock Of Birds Found Dead In Wilson County in Tennessee

Add Middle Tennessee to the list of places where flocks of birds have shown up dead. Earlier in the week, birds were found dead in Arkansas, Louisiana, Kentucky and Texas. Now, more that 100 dead birds were recently found in Wilson County, causing the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency to investigate.  Read more.
