Christian Preacher Harassed and Bullied at 2011 Dearborn Arab Festival

Land of the Free: Christian preacher speaks about the Jesus of the Bible in Dearborn, MI.  Muslims in the crowd chant “Allahu akbar!” (Allah is greater!), mock the Christian view of Jesus, and repeatedly call the Christian a “nigger.”  Could you imagine what the Muslim community in Dearborn would be doing right now if an ‘angry group of Christians’ had said these things to an Imam preaching about Mohammed? Protests galore within the Ummah, widespread coverage on the leftist national media about racist angry white extremists, and the police would have arrested Christians for “hate speech” and incitement.  But because this was said by a group of Muslims to a Christian preacher, the police do nothing and the media looks the other way …

“Dearborn is caught in a spiral. A few years ago, peaceful Christian missionaries would quietly come to Dearborn to preach the Gospel. Then security started slapping Christians around, and police began throwing Christians in jail and trampling on the Constitution. This drew some of the more vocal, confrontational, anti-Sharia Christian groups to the city (e.g. Terry Jones, Ruben Israel, etc.). But instead of showing the world how peaceful and loving Muslims are, Dearborn reacted with further hostility, even towards peaceful Christian preachers. This, of course, will draw even more anti-Sharia groups to Dearborn in the future. Will the city continue to respond in anger? If so, I see no end to the spiral.” Source.

It is not a good sign at all, and this will only continue as the number of Islamists increase in expanding Islamic communities.

While violence is never an appropriate response, Christian Islamphobic hate groups that intentionally descend upon Dearborn MI are obviously there for no good as they always stimulate confrontation by their hate. The Terry Jones, Koran burning folks, are a case in point. And blurbs like this one intended to do David Horowitz-like work of spreading hate for Islam with notions like Sharia-law also do not help. We have freedom of religion in this country, and practioners of Islam are free to express that as are people who practice the variety of religions practiced in the US.

Stop this hate articles as they do more harm than good.

Can you demonstrate where this African American preacher — who was called a “nigger” numerous times by the mob that surrounded him — was spewing ‘hate’? Where was the hatred coming from? Can you show where the New Testament commands Christians to hate other people because of their faith, or to wage war against them, to persecute them, or to kill them? You will not find any examples. Rather, this preacher was there because of his conviction that in order for someone to be saved, they need Christ. He was not there because he hated Muslims. He was there because he loved them:

Matthew 5:43-44, “Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Mark 16:15, “He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.'”

But all he received in return was hate, and was himself accused of hate, but:

Luke 6:22, “Blessed are you when men hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man.”

I can demonstrate, repeatedly, however that Islam teaches the opposite of what Christianity teaches, and commands its followers to hate, persecute and even kill someone for the simple fact that they are non-Muslim. So it’s not ‘Islamophobic’ when Islamic fundamentalists really do want to see you dead:

Surah 2:191, “Kill disbelievers wherever you find them… If they attack you, then kill them. Such is the reward of disbelievers.”

Surah 2:216, “Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.”

Surah 2:244, “Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah heareth and knoweth all things.”

Surah 3:151, “We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve…”

Surah 4:89, “Have no unbelieving friends. Kill the unbelievers wherever you find them.”

Surah 4:91, “If the unbelievers do not offer you peace, kill them wherever you find them. Against such you are given clear warrant.”

Surah 5:51, “O you who believe! Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: they are but friends and protectors to each other. And he among you that turns to them for friendship is of them.”

Surah 47:3-4, “When ye encounter the infidels, strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them …”

These teachings are not removed from any context that would change its meaning and were not specific only to any period of time during the early years of Islam. They are intended to be followed today just as they were during the time of Mohammed.

As for Terry Jones, I have already expressed my disapproval of his actions a number of times. Just as it is his constitutional right, however, to freedom of expression, I am also free to disapprove, peacefully.

No one here hates Muslims. It is my desire and duty as a follower of Christ to love them and to pray for them. As I have already said elsewhere, “we need to love all Muslim people as God loves all Muslim people and desires to see them come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. This battle is not against flesh and blood. Instead, we should be against a religion that oppresses and enslaves them in darkness. Islam is not a religion of peace. It is fundamentally a religion of hate and intolerance covered by a thin cloak of ‘peace’, and we should not be afraid to tell it like it is.” There are many peaceful Muslims, but they are not peaceful because of Islam. They are, fortunately, peaceful in spite of it.

Before accusing Christians of ‘Islamophobic hate’, I encourage you to do a little bit of research first. You’ll be surprised with what you’ll find …
