Canada Rejects Palestinian Statehood Bid at UN

Canada again reiterates its support of Israel.  Viva la Canada!

“Canada is rejecting a Palestinian effort to win recognition at the United Nations as an independent state.

The move is not surprising given that the Harper government has forcefully highlighted its loyalty to Israel and the United States. Both oppose the Palestinian initiative.

The Palestinian Authority, which controls most of the West Bank, launched a campaign last month that will see it pursue a vote on statehood at the United Nations General Assembly in September — an effort borne out of its frustration over a peace process that is stalled.

The top Palestinian diplomat in Canada says her official delegation will still push hard for the support of Ottawa.

‘On the conflict, we would like to see the Canadian government taking a neutral stand, supporting the creation of the state of Palestine, supporting the recognition of Palestine as a full member state in the UN in September,’ Linda Sobeh Ali, head of the Palestinian delegation, told The Canadian Press.

Sobeh Ali also said her delegation is pushing Canada to recognize Israel’s pre-1967 borders — something Prime Minister Stephen Harper forcefully opposed, and managed to block from being part of the final communique of G8 leaders at their recent May summit in France.” Read more.

    I’m glad Canada now has a Conservative majority gov’t. Harper will be Prime Minister for awhile.

    Can’t say I am surprised with this at all. Just goes to show you who is REALLY in charge in Canada. And forgive me folks, does conservative go hand in hand with supporting tyranny? Eg those claiming to be jewish who get a piece of land in Isreal (read “aquired” from west banks). Were this any other nation it would not be so.

    Hi Tony, thank you for chiming in. I’m curious by your comment, though, “aquired” from the West Bank? I presume you’re saying “from the Palestinians”? But have you ever stopped to think for a moment why the “Palestinians” have no history, and who they really are? Here’s the answer. The Palestinians are JORDANIAN, and Israel captured the West Bank when JORDAN attacked Israel in 1967, and captured Gaza and the Sinai from Egypt during the same war. There’s a reason why the West Bank — which is on the eastern edge of Israel — is called the ‘West Bank’. There is no Palestinian history. No Palestinian language. No Palestinian culture. No Palestinian heritage. No Palestinian archaeology. They are Jordanian Arabs. Just look at the Jordanian flag, and then look at the ‘Palestinian flag’. “Let’s make a new country and claim that the Jews stole it from us! We need a flag, let’s remove the star!” Behold, pure creative genius:

    And who was there first, you ask? Well, if we go back thousands of years, what do we find? Israel. Archaeological records prove that Israel existed thousands of years ago in the land of Judea and Samaria, and in Jerusalem, not ‘Palestinians’. Additionally, the Geneva Convention and UN Resolutions 242 and 338 reflect a very important fact that many leftists and ‘Palestinian defenders’ ignore, which were much in the mind of governments of the day when the resolutions were adopted: The Six-Day War of June 1967 was, for Israel, a lawful exercise of the inherent right of self-defense recognized in Article 51 of the UN Charter. As a result, Israel’s occupation of territory beyond the Armistice Lines was a result of aggression by its neighbors. So, allow me to ask again, if I may: Have you ever stopped to think for a moment why the “Palestinians” have no history, and who they really are?

    Who’s in charge in Canada? Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and he’s a man who — from what I can tell — seems to know a bit of history.

    tony – If the Palestinians are so right in what they are doing why do they always hide their faces in their actions ?? Why is that Islam is the only religion that is promoting and is represented by hate, killing of all infadels, Christian, Jews, by suicide boming, beheading etc ?? If Allah is God why have the Arabs and Islam not destroyed the Jews who are out numbered by several hundreds to 1 ?? How many Nobel prices have the Palistianians and Arabs won or been awarded verses the Jews ??? again no contest

    The land and borders of Israel were set clear by a covenant directly from God in Deuteronamy – you and all anti semantics have a decision to make are you with God or against God – are you with israel or against Israel the Apple of his eye – What does God promise us – Ge 12:2 “I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. Ge 12:3 I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you – AGAIN AN EVERLASTING CONVENANT

    So, Tony or any other doubters, be assured: Israel WILL inhabit the region in Deuteronomy 11:23-25, FOREVER (Per Gen 13:15), under the Leadership of Yeshua God, who will be physically present as a glorified man, ruling from JERUSALEM.

    Now, the only question is, will you bow your knee now to Yeshua Ha-Mashiach, experiencing the love and blessing of relationship with Creator God, or will you bow your knee then, having chosen to reject Him?
