China: Rioters Shout ‘Allah is the Only God’ While Hacking People to Death

07/21/2011 8 comments

“HOTAN, Xinjiang – Police shot down 14 rioters who attacked a police station in Hotan city of Northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on Monday, a Communist Party official in Hotan said Wednesday.

The official, who declined to be named, said the attack left four people dead, including an armed police officer, a security guard, a woman and a teenage girl. At least three others were injured.

Rioters hacked security guard Memet Eli to death while they were trying to break into the Na’erbage police station shortly after 12 pm Monday, said Ablet Metniyaz, chief of the police station.

‘He is just 25. He planned to get married in September,’ said Abliz, an officer of the police station.

In addition to Eli, an armed police and two civilians died in the incident, according to Metniyaz, 38, who has been serving as chief of the police station for three years.

The rioters had taken six civilian people and some police staff hostage, and set fire and smashed things in the police station, leaving damaged computers, printers, furniture and clothes scattered around, Metniyaz said.

Shouting frantic religious slogans like ‘Allah the only God’, the rioters ran to the top floor and police opened fire to stop them, said an anonymous policeman with the police station.” Read more.

Australia: Record Numbers of Sea Animal Deaths Along the Coast Concern Experts

07/21/2011 Leave a comment

“EXPERTS on the Great Barrier Reef are calling for increased efforts to protect dugongs and green turtles.

The campaign by the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority was launched yesterday as news emerged of another dead turtle found at Tannum Sands on the weekend.

GBRMPA is stepping up its efforts to promote smart boating and fishing practices to protect the animals, as record numbers of deaths are being recorded along the coast.

‘The evidence is pretty strong that it’s a loss of seagrass and loss of condition (that is the main factor in the deaths),’ GBRMPA chairman Dr Russell Reichelt said.

‘Essentially these animals are actually staving.’

Dr Reichelt said the extreme pressures being put on the species by low seagrass levels made it more important than ever for boaters and fishers to take extra care.” Read more.

Keeping Them Honest: CNN’s Anderson Cooper is a Fraud

07/21/2011 2 comments

By Joel Richardson – “A few months ago, after appearing on the Glenn Beck show, I was admittedly a bit amused to watch the fallout unfold as the left-wing media from George Soros’ Media Matters to MSNBC’s Fonzie-esque Rachel Maddow dedicated their efforts to attack me.

I’ve never had a shred of confidence in such leftist media outlets, but I have to admit I was still quite shocked at the shamelessness with which these so-called reporters purposefully lie to their audiences.

For most observers of the daily news cycle, this is all simply par for the course. But until you yourself have been personally attacked and lied about in the national media, it’s hard to truly grasp how outright evil some of these people really are.

As far as the attacks against myself, I’ve never felt the need to respond. But when CNN’s Anderson Cooper and Drew Griffin aired an outright hatchet-job against my friend, Walid Shoebat, I knew I had to speak up.

To keep it simple, there were three primary accusations leveled against Walid, and all were completely bogus.

First, Cooper and Griffin made great efforts to infer that Walid was not actually using his foundation’s monies to help rescue persecuted Christians, as he claims. Both reporters concluded their show by whining that neither Walid nor his manager would reveal exactly how their monies were spent for this cause. When asked about this, Walid rightly responded by saying, ‘It’s none of your business.’

I would have said the same thing. These ‘gotcha’ reporters have proven themselves to be entirely unworthy of compliance. Griffin specifically was exposed by Bill O’Reilly as blatantly lying about Sarah Palin. And so, as the proverb of Jesus says, ‘Do not cast your pearls to the swine.'” Read more.

CNN SMEAR CAMPAIGN—THE MISSING FACTS: What Anderson Cooper did not know – “Anderson Cooper on CNN interviewed his investigative reporter Andrew Griffin regarding the credibility of Walid Shoebat advising Homeland Security. But what Anderson Cooper did not know during this interview were THE FACTS:

LIE #1: In Mr. Griffin’s article he wrote: ‘Neither Shoebat nor his business partner provided any proof of Shoebat’s involvement in terrorism, despite repeated requests’.

FACT: There were no repeated requests. What is damaging to CNN’s credibility is that we have all the email exchanges to prove that every request was answered and The Shoebat Foundation did respond to all of CNN’s emails and was even offered several documents including credible witnesses to validate Mr. Shoebat’s account…” Read more.

US: Federal Government Planning for Potential Default, Canada Watches Closely

07/21/2011 2 comments

By Kristina Cooke and Tim Ahmann – “PHILADELPHIA — The U.S. Federal Reserve is actively preparing for the possibility that the United States could default as a deadline for raising the government’s US$14.3-trillion borrowing limit looms, a top Fed policymaker said on Wednesday.

Philadelphia Federal Reserve Bank President Charles Plosser said the Fed has for the past few months been working closely with Treasury, ironing out what to do if the world’s biggest economy runs out of cash on August 2.

‘We are in contingency planning mode,’ Plosser told Reuters in an interview at the regional central bank’s headquarters in Philadelphia. ‘We are all engaged … It’s a very active process.’

Plosser said his ‘gut feeling’ was that President Barack Obama and Congress will come to an agreement to increase the Treasury’s borrowing authority in time to avert a default on government obligations.” Read more.

Carney warns U.S. default would have ‘profound implications’ – “The governor of the Bank of Canada, Mark Carney, says a U.S. government default on its debt would have “profound implications” for financial markets and that ‘it’s our view that’s not something that should be tested.’ Carney said Wednesday the bank does not expect the U.S. will default, but that there’s no certainty about what the effects would be if it did.” Read more.

Alaska: Alert Level Raised for Volcano in Aleutian Islands After Authorities Spot ‘Persistent Thermal Anomalies’

07/21/2011 Leave a comment

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — The alert level for an Alaska volcano is being raised after officials say persistent thermal anomalies have been spotted in satellite data.

The Alaska Volcano Observatory on Wednesday raised the level Cleveland Volcano to advisory from unassigned.

There is no real-time seismic network at the volcano, located 939 miles southwest of Anchorage on an uninhabited island. Officials are not able to track local earthquake activity related to volcanic unrest.

Short-lived explosions with ash clouds or plumes exceeding 20,000 feet above sea level are frequent on Cleveland. It last showed signs of unrest last summer, with a small ash emission and lava flows on its upper flanks.” Read more.

Florida: Hundreds of Eels, Crabs, Rays, Trout, Tortoises and Tropical Fish Washing Up Dead on Beaches

07/21/2011 Leave a comment

“U.S. authorities are investigating what could be killing hundreds of fish and other marine animals – including sharks and manatees – which in recent days have been washing up on beaches in southwestern Florida.

‘High temperatures and cloudy, rainy days can spell trouble for fish in Florida’s marine and freshwater habitats. These conditions can cause fish kills, which are natural occurrences that typically do not cause permanent damage to the ecosystem or to fish populations,’ the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said.

Even so, the FWC asked in a news release for cooperation from the public in monitoring the deaths of the marine life and determining if the phenomenon is spreading to natural lakes and estuaries in the area ‘to see if there are problems developing in an ecosystem that might require investigation or restorative measures.’

The bodies of the dead animals – which include eels, crabs, rays, trout, tortoises and various kinds of tropical fish – have been turning up in recent days on several Florida beaches, among them the one at Naples, which is considered to be among the most beautiful in the United States with 16 kilometers (10 miles) of sand and crystalline waters close to shore.” Read more.

Dead fish wash ashore in SW Florida – “NAPLES, Fla. (AP) — Authorities don’t know what’s causing fish to wash ashore along a stretch of beaches in southwest Florida. But Collier County pollution control monitor Rhonda Watkins says she sent water samples and samples of a variety of dead fish to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission labs in St. Petersburg on Monday. But many suspect a dead zone in the Gulf waters caused the fish to die.” Read more.

Gulf of Mexico ‘Dead Zone’ May Triple in Size, Could Become the ‘Largest Ever Recorded’ – “Researchers measuring the ‘dead zone’ in the Gulf of Mexico say it is currently about 3,300 square miles but some scientists say it could become much larger… Some researchers predict the dead zone could exceed 9,400 square miles this year, which would make it one of the largest ever recorded.” Read more.

Louisiana: Neighbourhood Lake in Prairieville Full of Dead Fish

07/21/2011 Leave a comment

By Kelsey Davis – “PRAIRIEVILLE, LA (WAFB) – Hot weather is causing trouble for a Prairieville neighborhood. However, it’s not just the heat causing trouble. People there are dealing with a lake, full of dead fish.

About 15 houses surround the lake in the Cypress Lake subdivision in Prairieville.

The residents like to fish and swim in the water, but a bunch of belly-up fish has put a stop to water fun for now.

Fish kills are pretty common in south Louisiana. Wildlife and Fisheries agents said high temperatures and shallow waters cause oxygen to evaporate from water, basically suffocating the fish.

The sight of a bunch of dead fish can be alarming though. One woman said she’s lived on the lake for 12 years, and hasn’t seen anything like this.” Read more.

Obama’s Muslim Outreach: Epic Fail

07/20/2011 Leave a comment

By Mark Tapson – “When Barack Obama took over the Oval Office from George W. Bush in 2009, he was riding the crest of a tidal wave of gullibility among his supporters, who believed him to be the Chosen One bringing salvation and deliverance from the wasteland of the Bush years. In their fevered imagination, the inept, moronic, old-fashioned cowboy Bush had disastrously bungled his terms in office and caused the world to hate us. Now the multicultural, transnational, post-American demigod Obama had arrived, a deus ex machina from the heavens, offering hope and change to all. He was going to get the world to like us, really like us again.

But this self-delusional, media-assisted narrative has a tragicomic twist: two and a half years into his term, Obama not only hasn’t healed the oceans, harmonized the races, boosted the economy, or repaired our supposedly tattered reputation abroad, he has actually exacerbated all those issues. And now it’s confirmed that he hasn’t been any more successful at resolving the clash of civilizations either.

‘My job to the Muslim world,’ Obama said in his very first interview as President, for the Arabic-language network Al-Arabiya, ‘is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy.’ In that case, to quote from Cool Hand Luke, what we’ve got here is a failure to communicate. According to a stunning new poll of six Arab nations – Morocco, Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia – by the nonpartisan Arab American Institute, the United States is viewed even less favorably in the Arab world today than it was during the final year of Bush’s administration.” Read more.

Libya: President Obama’s ‘Non-War’ Rebel Allies Loot, Torch Homes and Threaten the Civilian Population in Benghazi

07/20/2011 Leave a comment

Let freedom ring …

“Tripoli (AsiaNews) – Benghazi-based rebels took Brega over night. The town, which is 740 km east of Tripoli, is the country’s main oil hub. The National Transitional Council (NTC) called the fall of the city its greatest victory since the war against Gaddafi began. However, doubts remain about rebel intentions. Human Rights Watch (HRW) has accused them of retaliatory violence against pro-Gaddafi regime civilians.

In a recent report, HRW said rebels looted and torched homes in towns that had fallen under TNC control. In villages south of Tripoli, Gaddafi loyalists were beaten, their houses set on fire.

Tiziana Gamannossi, an Italian businesswoman in Tripoli, told AsiaNews that the rebels’ push is causing fear in the civilian population. ‘The rebels threatened me and some of my aides at a checkpoint between Tripolitania and Cyrenaica,’ she said. ‘They seize women to get money, forcing men to get out of their cars to bargain.’

In her view, NATO is funding and arming violent groups that lack any training or code of honour. ‘Gaddafi’s soldiers committed crimes but they did not harm me, letting me to do my job even though the Italian government is involved in military operations.'” Read more.

The headless corpse, the mass grave and worrying questions about Libya’s rebel army – “The streaks of blood, smeared along the sides of this impromptu mass grave suggested a rushed operation, a hurried attempt to dispose of the victims. Who the men were and what happened to them, close to the Libyan rebels’ western front line town of Al-Qawalish in the Nafusa Mountains, remains unknown. But the evidence of a brutal end were clear. One of the corpses had been cleanly decapitated, while the trousers of another had been ripped down to his ankles, a way of humiliating a dead enemy. The green uniforms were the same as those worn by loyalists fighting for Col. Muammer Gaddafi in Libya’s civil war.” Read more.

UK: Muslim Cab Driver Decries Jews as ‘Animals’, Screams ‘All Jewish Children Must Die’ in Front of Jewish School

07/20/2011 Leave a comment

Here’s a man who acts like a raging rabid animal wishing for the death of all Jewish children, and in the same breath has the gall and pomposity to turn around and denigrate all Jewish people as ‘animals’ who shouldn’t be allowed in the same country that he himself immigrated to.  While he is calling for the death of Jews and for the denial of human rights for these ‘non-humans’, heaven forbid if we dare begin to question his own.  Yet by giving him nothing but a mere slap on the wrist the courts continue to demonstrate that they tolerate this vile hatred, and reinforce in the minds of all anti-semites the belief that spewing hatred such as this will never lead to any serious repercussions whatsoever.  If calling for the death of children doesn’t constitute an immediate need to begin the process of this man’s deportation, I’d hate to imagine what would …

“A taxi driver ranted racial abuse outside a Jewish school after getting stuck in a traffic jam.

Taha Osman shrieked ‘All Jewish children must die!’ after his car was hemmed in by parents picking up pupils outside King David School in Crumpsall.

Two mums on the school run and a teaching assistant were singled out in a foul-mouthed and ‘frightening’ tirade witnessed by kids, Manchester Crown Court heard.

Osman – an Iraqi Kurd who has settled in Britain – also shouted that Jewish people were ‘animals’ who ‘should not be allowed in this country’.

The 36-year-old denied causing religiously aggravated harassment, alarm or distress in a trial, but was found guilty by the jury.

Sentencing him to a community order, Judge David Stockdale QC said it was a ‘particularly nasty offence’ – but did not warrant a jail sentence.” Read more.

Flashback: Islamic Schools in Britain teach students that Jews are ‘transformed from pigs and apes’ – “LONDON – Islamic schools in Britain are teaching anti-Semitic material to high school students, some of whom have been exposed to extremist preachers and Islamist groups, a BBC documentary revealed on Monday evening. According to its flagship documentary program Panorama, around 5,000 Muslim children are being educated from a Saudi Arabian textbook that teaches them that Jews are transformed from pigs and apes, and asks them to list the ‘reprehensible’ qualities of Jews. Another says that Zionists want to establish world domination for Jews, a charge levelled in the anti-Semitic Protocols of the Elders of Zion.” Read more.

Iran: Ahmadinejad Threatens to Send the United States and Israel ‘To The Morgue’

07/20/2011 5 comments

“Tehran, 20 July (AKI) – Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has threatened to destroy the United States and Israel if put on the defensive.

‘Resistance will continue until Iran sends its enemies to the morgue,’ he said on his website, making a reference to the US and Israel who he said are ‘on the verge of collapse and gasping for their last breathes.’

Ahmadinejad may have been reacting to news from Iranian state media that Iran brought down a U.S. ‘spy drone’ flying near its Fordo nuclear enrichment plant in Qom province.

State-run Press TV didn’t say when the incident happened. US officials said there were unaware that a US unmanned aircraft was downed, according to news reports.

The Islamic Republic, Ahmadinejad said on his website ‘is the region’s greatest military power.'” Source.

Biologists: Conditions at Fukushima Are Much Worse Than They Had Thought

07/20/2011 Leave a comment

Chief Nuclear Engineer A. Gundersen: “The Japanese announced that it’s gonna be 10 years before they begin — begin — to remove those cores from the bottom of the containment.  There’s no technology right now to remove them.  Remember, they’ve melted through the nuclear reactor and they’re lying on the floor of the nuclear containment.   Now, at Three Mile Island they had melted on to the bottom of the reactor, but not through the reactor.  So this is brand new.  And, you know, it’s sort of like trying to peel an egg off the bottom of a frying pan.  If it’s cooked too long it’s a very, very complicated and difficult process and that’s what we’re facing at Fukushima in the long-term cleanup.  So in the meantime there’ll be an awful lot of liquid radioactive waste that will have to be processed for 10 or perhaps 20 years…

Some friends of mine are biologists that had worked at Chernobyl and went to Japan to do some scientific work over there.  They went anticipating things were gonna be bad.  I got a call this week from them and they said, ‘You know, things are really, really bad.’  So these are hardened scientists who are used to dealing with radiation, and they believe that conditions at Fukushima are much worse than they had thought…”

Report: Japan to name new Fukushima ‘hot spots’ – “The Japanese government will announce new “hot spots” recommended for evacuation near the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant possibly “within the next couple of days,” Kyodo News reported Thursday, citing Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano. Late last month, for the first time since the nuclear crisis was triggered by the March earthquake and tsunami, the government designated about 100 households in the city of Date in Fukushima Prefecture as being located in the so-called hot spots, where radiation levels are sporadically higher than other locations nearby.” Read more.
