American Military Continues to Submit to Islam: Cross Removed at Base in Afghanistan
There is no longer a single Christian church left in Afghanistan. Why just stop there? There is something seriously wrong with this picture when thousands of American and coalition men & women have sacrificed their lives upon the altar of freedom for an Islamic country, only to have the freedoms of their own brothers and sisters in arms slowly stripped away so that the ones we’ve ‘freed’ aren’t offended. By TIM MAK – “A large cross that had been prominently displayed outside a chapel on an isolated military base in northern Afghanistan was taken down last week, prompting outrage from some American service members stationed there.
‘We are here away from our families, and the chapel is the one place that feels like home,’ a service member at Camp Marmal told POLITICO. ‘With the cross on the outside, it is a constant reminder for all of us that Jesus is here for us.’
‘Not having it there is really upsetting,’ added another. ‘I walk by the chapel daily on the way to chow and the gym, and seeing the cross is a daily reminder of my faith and what Jesus accomplished for me. It is daily inspiration and motivation for me to acknowledge my faith and stay on the right path.’
Camp Marmal is a German base that hosts NATO forces. The interfaith chapel in question is supervised by the U.S. Army.
The soldiers said they found great comfort in the chapel — and the cross visible outside. ‘Sometimes the Church and the ability to openly express religious views ultimately gets people through the deployments over here,’ one told POLITICO by email.
The service member said he asked the base chaplain, a military officer, what had happened to the cross. ‘I had to take it down,’ said the chaplain, according to the solider, without further explanation.” Read more.

Study: Radioactive Water from Fukushima Reaches International Date Line 4,000 Kilometers East of Japan
By TAKASHI SUGIMOTO – “Radioactive water from the damaged Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant has reached the international date line, about 4,000 kilometers east of Japan in the Pacific Ocean, according to estimates.
The concentration of radioactive cesium-137 will be 0.1-0.01 becquerel per liter by the end of November, 10 to 100 times higher than before the accident started, according to estimates by the Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology.
The concentration will be at one-2,000th to one-20,000th of the government safety standard for potable water, but monitoring will be necessary for any impact on fish and shellfish.
A team of researchers led by Yukio Masumoto estimated the flow based on radiation levels measured in waters around the Fukushima No. 1 plant, taking convection and other factors into account.
Radioactive water that leaked from the plant first moved along the coast and then gradually moved offshore.” Read more.
Nuke crisis sends hundreds of Tokyoites fleeing to Okinawa – “Following the Fukushima nuclear crisis and fearing the spread of radiation, a number of Kanto residents fled to this southernmost prefecture and continue to live here despite the lack of personal connections. ‘The Okinawans are really warm-hearted. I wouldn’t want to live in Tokyo again,’ said Jin Tanimura, 38, clad in ‘kariyushi’ wear, a locally promoted attire that looks like a Hawaiian shirt. Following the nuclear crisis, more people have moved out of Tokyo and surrounding areas to Okinawa and other parts of western Japan than have moved in. Lebanon: Explosion Rocks Secret Hizbullah Weapons Warehouse
By Chana Ya’ar – “A secret Hizbullah terrorist warehouse exploded overnight near the coastal city of Tyre, located in southern Lebanon not far from Israel’s northern border, about 50 miles (80 kilometers) south of Beirut.
The blast occurred in an area under the control of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Nevertheless, Hizbullah forces have prevented security personnel from reaching the site, making it impossible to obtain any information about what actually happened.
A UNIFIL spokesman told reporters, ‘We have no information as yet,’ in response to questions about the explosion. The international force is expected to investigate.
Hizbullah has boasted that the group possesses tens of thousands of missiles of varying ranges that it can aim at Israel whenever it chooses.
U.N. Resolution 1701, the ceasefire agreement that ended the Second Lebanon War in 2006, specifically prohibits Hizbullah from storing munitions or other ordnance in southern Lebanon.” Source – Arutz Sheva.
Report: Hezbollah considering military coup if Assad falls – “Hezbollah’s leadership is considering the possibility of taking control of Beirut and effectively carrying out a military coup in Lebanon should the current Syrian regime fall, the al-Arabia network reported Tuesday. According to the report, Hezbollah members have expressed concerns over the escalation of the civil uprising in Syria, which could lead to the fall of Bashar Assad’s regime. The Syrian president is an ally of the Lebanese Shiite group. Sources close to Hezbollah noted that it was due to those concerns that the Hezbollah leadership was examining various scenarios – including a ‘broad maneuver on the ground,’ similar to the takeover of Beirut in May 2008. However, the current plans apparently include a much more extensive maneuver which may expand to a military coup. ‘As soon as Hezbollah will sense that the collapse of Assad’s regime is imminent, armed cells will quickly begin operating to seize control of Beirut’s eastern and western parts,’ one of the sources told al-Arabia.” Read more.
Turkey warns Assad his days are numbered – “Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Monday that his days as leader were numbered and he cannot remain in power indefinitely through military force. After reports that two buses carrying Turkish pilgrims came under attack in Syria, Erdogan said his one-time ally’s defiant refusal to end a bloody crackdown on protesters had increased the prospects of foreign intervention. ‘You can remain in power with tanks and cannons only up to a certain point. The day will come when you’ll also leave,’ Erdogan told a meeting in Istanbul. ‘Someone shows up and says ‘I’ll fight and die. Against whom will you fight? Pry’s nightmare scenario shows Iran or its terrorist proxy, Hezbollah, parking an unmarked freighter off America’s East Coast or in the Gulf of Mexico.
They would fire a nuclear-tipped scud above a city like New York, then immediately sink the freighter to destroy evidence of their handiwork.

Electronic Warfare: Israeli Preemptive Strike On Iran Will ‘Jam, Blind, Deafen’ Defenses

For much of the last decade, writes Lake, ‘Israel has been assembling a multibillion-dollar array of high-tech weapons that would allow it to jam, blind, and deafen Tehran’s defenses in the case of a pre-emptive aerial strike.’
U.S. intelligence officials are reported as saying that Israel has developed a weapon capable of mimicking a maintenance cellphone signal that commands a cell network to ‘sleep,’ effectively stopping transmissions. The Israelis ‘also have jammers capable of creating interference within Iran’s emergency frequencies for first responders,’ they said.
In the 2007 attack on a suspected nuclear site in Syria, Israeli planes ‘spoofed’ the enemy’s air-defense radars, ‘at first making it appear that no jets were in the sky and then in an instant making the radar believe the sky was filled with hundreds of planes,’ Lake writes.” Read more.

For far from paving the way for freedom and pluralism, the uprisings have led only to more intolerance, authoritarianism and division.
The sense of darkening crisis in Egypt this week is a disturbing example of this trend…
At first, participation in the Tahrir Square demonstrations this month was a way for the Brotherhood to flex its muscles. But few Islamists are now occupying the square.
Unlike the progressives and liberals, they are not seeking a showdown with the military. What they really want is an accommodation, a compromise that will smooth their way to power.
Democracy and liberty have no appeal to them. In fact, they regard them as features of Western, secular decadence.
All their attention is focused on becoming the largest political force in the elections next week. And they are almost certain to achieve this goal, since they are by far the best organised, most well-known political movement in Egypt.
The implementation of their hardline religious agenda will follow, including the implementation of Islamist sharia law.
This is bad news for Israel, already isolated in the Middle East, since the Muslim Brotherhood wants to tear up the current peace deal, which was negotiated by President Anwar Sadat in 1979.
It is also bad news for Egypt’s Coptic Christian minority, which makes up around ten per cent of the population.
In recent months, they have suffered appallingly from a brutal pincer movement made up of the military on one side and the Islamists on the other.
Massacres, individual beatings, and the desecration of churches are all characteristic of this savagery.” Read more.
Nigeria: At Least 3 More Christians Gunned Down and Hacked to Death After Suspected Ambush by Muslim Fulani Herdsmen

The attack, according to an eyewitness took place at bout 7:00 pm on Sunday evening. The source confirmed that the mayhem was carried out by suspected armed Fulani herdsmen, who killed three men during the attack on the village. Those who witnessed the incident said that the unfortunate victims, Jacob Davou, Ezekiel Ishaku and Ishaya Bulus were returning from Barkin- Ladi town Headquarters of the council when they met their untimely death.
The eyewitness while speaking to our reporter insisted that the assailants created an illegal check point laid ambush for the villagers who were coming on two motorcycles, they gunned them down and inflicted machetes cuts on their bodies.
Confirming the incident, Media Officer of the Special Task-force on Jos crisis, Captain Charles Ekoecha said, the command was on top of the situation, the attack was coming after two month of relative peace in the state, following redeployment of the Chief of Army staff to take charge of the internal security of the state as directed by the President Jonathan.
It was gathered that one of the victims who were on the motorcycle survives the attacked and effort to speak with him was not successful as the Special Task Force in charge of internal security in Jos were said to have picked him for further investigation.

Meh, though I’d love to see him step aside and into the annals of history, I doubt that someone as proud as Obama has the strength and mental capacity to humble himself enough to allow someone else to run. If, by some sheer miracle, he did it would certainly give the Democrats a fighting chance in 2012. What America needs right now however is a true, strong conservative who knows how to get the country out of the hole that was and is Barack Obama. And I seriously doubt there is any Democrat who even comes close to fitting that bill …

No End in Sight: Over 30,000 Square Kilometers of Japan Has Been Blanketed by Radioactive Fallout
By Mark Willacy – “Japan’s science ministry says 8 per cent of the country’s surface area has been contaminated by radiation from the crippled Fukushima nuclear plant.
It says more than 30,000 square kilometres of the country has been blanketed by radioactive caesium.
The ministry says most of the contamination was caused by four large plumes of radiation spewed out by the Fukushima nuclear plant in the first two weeks after meltdowns.
The government says some of the radioactive material fell with rain and snow, leaving the affected areas with accumulations of more than 10,000 becquerels of caesium per square metre.
Last week tests found unsafe levels of radioactive contamination in recently harvested rice from the Fukushima region.
The levels of radioactive caesium were measured at 630 becquerels per kilogram, above the maximum allowable level of 500 becquerels.
Officials from Fukushima prefecture have now asked all rice farmers in the district to suspend shipments.
There have been a series of scares over radiation in food in Japan in recent months; in products such as beef, mushrooms and green tea, but never before in the country’s staple, rice.
Authorities have also begun testing soil in some Tokyo playgrounds and schools for traces of radioactive contamination.
Many people in Japan have purchased their own Geiger counters to monitor radiation levels around them.

Highlest levels yet recorded at Fukushima reactor 3 – “Tepco announced they measured 1.6 Sv/h at reactor 3, which is the highest reading of reactor 3. Since last week, Tepco has been measuring radiation in reactor 3 by using human worker to assist robot. 11/14/2011, when they washed off water on the floor and it was 1.32 Sv/h. Now they measured even higher radiation from the floor of the building. Tepco is supposed to declare that they managed to cold shut down the Fukushima plants by the end of this year, but actually, they don’t even know what is going on inside of the reactor.” Source – Fukushima Diary.
China Warns India on South China Sea Dispute
“NEW DELHI: China on Monday said ‘outside forces’ and ‘foreign companies’ should not be involved in the South China Sea dispute.
In a direct warning to India, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said, ‘We don’t hope to see outside forces involved in the South China Sea dispute and do not want to see foreign companies engage in activities that will undermine China’s sovereignty and interest.’
This was in response to a question on the discussions between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao on the sidelines of the East Asia summit in Bali last week.
Meanwhile, South China Sea will feature prominently in a new dialogue between India and Australia starting on Tuesday. The bilateral dialogue on East Asia will include exchanges on maritime security and North Korea as well.
The Indian side will be led by Gautam Bambawale, joint secretary in MEA, and Peter Rowe, senior diplomat in the Australian foreign ministry. With the uranium issue out of the way, India will also play host to Australian foreign minister Stephen Smith in early December, as bilateral ties move into higher gear.
China’s assertion of sovereignty over the South China Sea has sent all other affected countries pushing back by turning the issue into an international maritime problem. This was not on the Chinese agenda, because China wants to negotiate bilaterally with countries like Philippines and Vietnam. With India marking a prominent presence in the South China Sea, Beijing is deeply unhappy.
Describing the Singh-Wen meeting, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said the discussion centred on bilateral issues. ‘The Chinese side expressed willingness to work with the Indian side to pursue the path of friendship and cooperation and push forward bilateral relations on business cooperation. The two sides enjoy cooperation potential and we hope to continue to create favourable conditions for free flow of commodities, technology, finance, services and encourage enterprises from both sides to invest to the benefit of both people.’

India: Panic Over China’s Deployment of Four New Nuclear Ballistic Missiles – “China continues to deploy four new nuclear capable ballistic missiles, including one that can be launched from submarines (SLBM), causing fear among its neighbours and the US, says a latest report by Federation of American Scientists. This, coupled with Beijing’s reluctance to define its minimum deterrence posture, says the report, has raised doubts about its intentions in upgrading its nuclear and missile arsenal. The report authored by scientists Hans Kristensen and Robert Norris estimates that China has 240 nuclear warheads. While the report focuses mainly on China’s attempts to target the US by assigning an increasing number of warheads to its long-range missiles, it says Beijing is now using the 7,200 km-range DF-31 missiles to target India and Russia instead of the earlier DF-4.” Read more.

Category 4 ‘Kenneth’ Most Powerful November Hurricane in Recorded History
By Kristina Pydynowski – “Hurricane Kenneth formed in the eastern Pacific Ocean early this week, a rare feat for this time of year. What is even more impressive is how strong it has become.
Kenneth, which gained monster Category 4 status, is the strongest hurricane ever so late in the season for the basin.
AccuWeather.com’s Jesse Ferrell reports that no other major (Category 3 or greater) hurricanes have been observed in the eastern Pacific during the month of November since records began in the 1800s.

AccuWeather.com Expert Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski recently suggested that the eastern Pacific would have one last hurrah before hurricane season ends on November 30. That notion came true late Saturday afternoon.
The Atlantic Basin may follow suit in the upcoming days.
Tropical Depression 13-E took shape Saturday afternoon and strengthened into Tropical Storm Kenneth about 24 hours later. During Monday morning, Kenneth became a hurricane. By Tuesday morning, the storm had exploded into a major Category 4 hurricane.
