‘Savage, Intolerant, Cruel and Expansionistic’: The Lands of Islam
By Daniel Greenfield, “The Savage Lands of Islam” – “The Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia has ruled that ten year old girls can be married off, because in his words, ‘Good upbringing makes a girl ready to perform all marital duties at that age.’ The Mufti, who also recently called for destroying churches in the Arabian Peninsula, is descended from Mohammed Wahhab who gave birth to Wahhabism and his descendants have controlled the Saudi religious establishment, which has given them control of Islam around the world. For all his power and influence, the Mufti is blind and hasn’t seen a thing in the last 52 years, an apt metaphor for his entire religion.
Saudi Arabia, the heartland of Islam, still tries and executes witches. What sort of religion can come out of a place that marries off ten year old girls and murders old women on charges of witchcraft? Exactly the sort of religion you would expect to fly planes into skyscrapers, murder teenage girls for using Facebook and base their entire society on a ladder with Muslim men at the top, Muslim women a few rungs below and everyone else somewhere at the bottom.
The Saudis are not some aberration, they are Islam in its purest and truest form. This is where Islam originated, these are the people whose brutality and cunning spread it across the world, whose clans killed each other, then killed or enslaved minority groups, and then embarked on a wave of conquest that destroyed countless cultures and left behind seeds of hate that linger to this day.
Unlike Egypt or Syria, they were never colonized by European powers and the impact of Ottoman influence was limited. Oil has brought in massive amounts of money, but it has changed very little. There are limousines instead of camels, the slaves have foreign passports, though they are often still slaves, there is still a brisk trade in imported luxury goods, harems for princes and clans staggering under the weight of their indolent progeny.
Religiously, Wahhabism has done its best to recreate the ‘pure’ Islam of its origins. Economically, oil has allowed the Gulf Arabs to prosper without reform or change. And if Mohammed were to ride out of the desert tomorrow, he would have little trouble fitting in, as soon as he developed a taste for Porsches. Anyone who wants to see the world as it was in Mohammed’s day can visit Saudi Arabia and see inbred clans, slave labor, veiled women and thugs enforcing the will of Allah on every corner.
But you don’t even need to visit Saudi Arabia because diluted forms of it can be found everywhere from Cairo to London and from Islamabad to Los Angeles. A hundred and fifty years after the United States freed its slaves, Muslim immigrants have brought back slavery, importing young girls to live as their slaves. Ninety years after American women won the right to vote, the ghosts of Islam tread the streets in sheets that hide their personhood and mark them as Read more…
Sudanese Writer Al-Haj Warraq Warns Against the Rise of Islamists in Egypt
Finally, a discussion on an Arab news network that intelligently dissects the underpinnings of the Arab Spring and the widespread rise of Islamism. Watch the full 6-minute video clip …
Al-Hajj Warraq, Sudanese Writer: “… The tragedy of the Arab Spring is that when tyrannical regimes fell, the fruits were reaped by movements that preach close-mindedness, rather than free thinking. The outcome will be regimes that are worse than those that were toppled. The so-called Arab Spring countries are heading towards a harsh winter… When you purport to be speaking in the name of Allah, any opposition becomes opposition to Allah. This is where the danger lies. A religious state necessarily leads — in all cases — to the criminalization of dissenting views, which become heresy…”
Greece: Volcano Behind Atlantis Legend Reawakens, Land Near Volcano Swelling At An Accelerating Rate
By Charles Q. Choi, FOX News – “The volcano that may have given rise to the legend of Atlantis has awakened, researchers say.
The cataclysmic eruptions at the Greek isle of Santorini about 3,600 years ago that spewed forth about 9.5 to 14.3 cubic miles (40 to 60 cubic kilometers) of lava devastated the ancient seafaring Minoan civilization, potentially inspiring the legend of the lost city of Atlantis. From the air, the resulting caldera, or volcanic crater, appears as a small cluster within the larger collection of Greek islands in the Aegean Sea.
Over the next four millennia, the largely underwater caldera at Santorini has experienced a series of smaller eruptions, with five such outbursts in the past 600 years, ending most recently in 1950. After a 60-year lull, Santorini awakened in January 2011 with a swarm of tremors, each magnitude 3.2 or less, new GPS research has revealed.
Magma on the move
Investigators had installed a GPS monitoring system in the area in 2006. These sensors keep track of their location in space, and can thus shed light on when the Earth is moving.
The scientists found that by June 2011, the 22 GPS stations had been pushed 0.2 to 1.3 inches (5 to 32 millimeters) farther from the caldera than they had been just six months earlier. The researchers then improved the existing GPS stations and installed two more GPS stations, and data from September 2011 to January 2012 showed the land near the volcano was swelling at an accelerating rate …” Read more.
Mexico: Unusual Rumbling Coming From Popocatepetl Volcano Frightening Residents, ‘We’ve Never Heard a Noise Like It’
News 24 – “Xalitzintla – Residents at the foot of Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano no longer sleep soundly since the towering mountain roared back into action over a week ago, spewing out a hail of rocks, steam and ash.
‘We close our eyes, but we don’t sleep much. In the past, there was only smoke but this time it’s stronger,’ said Francisco Jimenez, who lives in the nearby town of Xalitzintla in central Mexico, 55km from Mexico City.
The volcano, Mexico’s second highest peak at 5 452m, started rumbling and spurting high clouds of ash and steam on 13 April, provoking the authorities to raise the alert to level five on a seven-point scale.
The alert extended a security cordon around the volcano but stopped short of starting evacuations of about 685 000 residents from nearby communities.
Over the weekend, residents watched as Popocatepetl, which means ‘smoking mountain’ in the indigenous Nahuatl language, lived up to its name, spouting glowing rocks and shaking the ground beneath their feet.
‘When we went out to see, my son cried: ‘We have to leave!’ We were ready to leave for Mexico City but then it calmed down a bit,’ said 67-year-old Leopolda Perez of Xalitzintla…
‘We’ve been watching out for many nights, waiting to see what happens,’ said Gabino Santibanez, mayor of San Pedro Benito Juarez, a small town only 9km from the glowing crater.
Locals said that most frightening was the unusual rumbling coming from the volcano, which many compared to an aircraft turbine.
‘We’ve never heard a noise like it,’ said Maximiliano Grajales.” Read more.
North Sudan: ‘Racist’ President Al-Bashir Blamed For Inciting Islamists Against Christians
Sudan Tribune – “(KHARTOUM) – The secretary-general of the rebel Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N), Yasir Arman, has blamed ‘racist’ statements of Sudan’s President Omer Al-Bashir for encouraging a mob of fundamentalist Islamists to attack a church in the capital Khartoum.
An Evangelical Church in the Sawafi area of Khartoum was attacked and set on fire Friday by a group of fundamentalist Islamists mobilized by hard-line cleric Mohamed Abdel-Karim despite a police cordon in the area.
A pastor named Yusuf Matar Kodi told Agence France Presse (AFP) on Sunday that the group had ‘burned Bibles and torched the school for training clergy on the farm, as well as the residence of the students.’
In a press statement on Monday, Arman said that the assailing group had been motivated to burn the Church as police forces ‘stood and watched’ by the ‘racist’ statements of Al-Bashir.
Arman was referring to a number of derogatory remarks Al-Bashir has made against leaders of South Sudan following the latter’s military takeover two weeks ago of oil-rich Heglig region on the disputed borders between the two neighbors.
In separate occasions, Al-Bashir described the ruling Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) in South Sudan as ‘an insect’ whose members must be disciplined by ‘the stick,’ in what some have linked to a well-known Arab phrase that says ‘don’t buy a slave without the stick.'” Read more.
Violent Islamist Takeover in Mali Targets Fleeing Christians
By Christian Today – “Christians in Mali are in a ‘desperate plight’ following last month’s military coup, international Christian aid agency Barnabas Fund has warned.
Government forces collapsed in the north following the coup, allowing separatist and Islamist rebels to seize control of the country’s three northern regions.
Around 215,000 people have been displaced from their homes, many of them crossing into Burkina Faso and Mauritania.
Many Christians have sought safety in Mali’s capital, Bamako, where they are being fed and sheltered by a network of churches.
A Barnabus Fund contact in Mali reports that churches in the towns of Gao and Timbuktu were destroyed in the takeover, with the congregations abandoning their homes and fleeing south.
‘Horrible crimes have been made against the population – massacres, rape of women, obligation to wear the veil, chasing Christians,’ the source reports.” Read more.
Flashback: Mali: Christian Leader Beheaded as Islamists Terrorize Country, Create List of All Christians They Intend to Execute by Beheading – “A Christian leader has been beheaded and others are being threatened with similar treatment as Islamic militants run amok in Mali, West Africa. Christians have fled the town of Timbuktu in the north of the country where harsh Sharia Law has already been imposed amid reports that churches in Gao, 200 miles to the east, have been completely destroyed… ‘We have escaped in the wake of horrible death threats as the Islamists have a list of all the Christians in Timbuktu whom they intend to execute by beheading.’” Read more.
Algeria: Christian Awaits Appeal Decision After ‘Shaking the Faith’ of Muslims
“Algeria (MNN) ― Algeria is earning its keep as country number 23 on the Open Doors World Watch List for the worst persecutors of Christians.
Voice of the Martyrs, Canada and Voice of the Martyrs, USA recently cited two separate accounts of persecution in Algeria.
An Algerian Christian was sentenced to five years in prison for “shaking the faith” of Muslims last May. Currently, ‘Kadar’ is awaiting a decision on his appeal.
Kadar, who regularly shares his faith with Muslims in the city of Oran, was discussing his belief in Christ with a man at an outdoor food court last May when the man became angry and accused Kadar of insulting Muhammad. Police arrested Kadar and found a large amount of Christian materials in his apartment.
After Kadar was convicted, the judge gave him the maximum sentence of five years in prison even though the prosecutor had recommended a lesser sentence. Kadar is now out on bail awaiting the decision.” Read more.
Report: Iran Prepares Its Submarine Fleet For Blockade Of The Strait Of Hormuz
By Robert Johnson, Business Insider – “We reported a couple weeks ago that Iran was demanding all U.S. ships entering the Strait of Hormuz stop and check in with the Revolutionary Guard. Now, they’re saying that move has blockaded the Strait of Hormuz.
FARS News Agency, Tehran’s state run media outlet, announced Tehran is continuing a full blockade on all ships entering the Strait, with each undergoing inspection.
From FARS:
“The alien vessels which enter the Persian Gulf via the Strait of Hormuz always provide the needed answers and information to the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) units,” Lieutenant Commander of the IRGC Naval Force Alireza Tangsiri said on Wednesday.
He further noted the deployment of a US aircraft carrier in the region, and said, “This vessel, similar to the other warships, answered all the questions asked by the IRGC Navy without any problem or making any particular move and then continued the path to its specified destination.”
The UPI reports that Iran’s fleet of 20 submarines are much on the mind of U.S. military officials as Tehran increases it’s bluster and stance in the Strait.
The submarines are seen as a danger to international tanker traffic, which ships one-fifth of the world’s oil supplies through the narrow strait every day, and to Western warships if Iran carries out its threat to close Hormuz if its oil exports are blocked.
U.S. military planners must factor in the Iranian submarine threat as the Americans, spearheaded by the U.S. Navy 5th Fleet based in Bahrain, square off for possible conflict with Iran over its contentious nuclear program. “The Iranians would not have acquired so many submarines if they did not think they would come in handy,” U.S. defense analyst Scott Charney observed in an April 9 assessment of Iranian submarine capabilities.
Ecuador: Tungurahua Volcano Erupts Launching Gravel on Nearby Town
“Over the weekend, the Tungurahua’s volcanic eruption had a strong explosion that caused gravel to fall down in the nearby town of Pillate, Ecuador.
The explosion, characterized by its loud ‘cannon ball shot’, was immediately detected by locals and scientists observing the volcano’s progress. The explosion was later followed by a slight tremor and a constant pulsation of ‘high energy’ said reports.
The constant cloud coverage surrounding the volcano has caused scientists, from the Geophysical Institute branch of the National Polytechnic School to have trouble determining its current state. Most of the direct observations are conducted in the Guadalupe Observatory, the closest in the vicinity.” Read more.
Free Speech Found Guilty by Europe, Supreme Court Declares Criticism of Islam a Crime Punishable By Imprisonment
By Soeren Kern, Gatestone Institute – “Lars Hedegaard, the president of the Danish Free Press Society, has been acquitted by the Danish Supreme Court on charges of ‘hate speech’ for critical comments he made about Islam.
The verdict, however represents only a partial victory for free speech in a Europe that is being stifled by politically correct restrictions on free speech, particularly on issues related to Islam.
Although Hedegaard was acquitted, it was on a legal technicality; in its ruling, the Supreme Court stressed that the substance of the charges against Hedegaard — public criticism of Islam, — is still a crime punishable by imprisonment.
Hedegaard’s legal problems began in December 2009, when he said in a taped interview that there was a high incidence of child rape and domestic violence in areas dominated by Muslim culture. Although Hedegaard insisted that he did not intend to accuse all Muslims or even the majority of Muslims of such crimes, Denmark’s thought police were incensed at such effrontery: the Danish public prosecutor’s office declared that Hedegaard was guilty of violating Article 266b of the Danish penal code, a catch-all provision that Danish elites use to enforce politically correct speech codes.
The infamous Article 266b states: ‘Whoever publicly or with the intent of public dissemination issues a pronouncement or other communication by which a group of persons are threatened, insulted or denigrated due to their race, skin color, national or ethnic origin, religion or sexual orientation is liable to a fine or incarceration for up to two years.’
In January 2011, a Danish lower court acquitted Hedegaard of any wrongdoing. But public prosecutors appealed that verdict and in May 2011, a Danish superior court found Hedegaard guilty of hate speech in accordance with Article 266b because he ‘ought to have known’ that his statements regarding family rape in Muslim families were intended for public dissemination.” Read more.
Egypt’s Military Leader Responds to Israeli Foreign Minister With Threat of Violence
Iran says that Egypt is becoming more like Iran, and the Egyptian military says nothing. The Muslim Brotherhood says that Egypt should become more like Iran, and the Egyptian military says nothing. But when Israel says that Egypt is becoming more like Iran, the Egyptian military threatens to take action against Israel. Quite telling, isn’t it? …
By Elhanan Miller, The Times of Israel – “In remarks apparently directed at Israel, Field Marshal Muhammad Hussein Tantawi, the head of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF) and the country’s de facto leader, threatened on Monday to thwart any foreign aggression against Egypt. He was speaking in the wake of reports, widely covered in the Egyptian media, that Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman has warned of an imminent military threat emanating from Egypt.
‘Our borders are constantly burning, but we do not attack any neighboring country but only protect our borders,’ Tantawi told Egyptian press during a live ammunition maneuver in the Sinai Peninsula titled ‘Nasr 7.’ ‘If anyone comes close to Egypt’s border, we will break their leg. Therefore, our forces must be in a perpetual state of alert.’
A second senior military figure, Major General Muhammad Higazi, commander of Egypt’s Second Field Army, also issued a tacit threat, warning that potential aggressors should ‘reconsider before thinking of attacking any part of Egypt’s territory.’
In Jerusalem, the Foreign Ministry sought to calm the dispute. ‘The foreign minister was interviewed today on two Israeli radio stations,’ a spokesman said on Monday evening, ‘and he made it very clear that both sides have a clear interest in keeping the peace agreement.’
On Sunday, the Hebrew daily Maariv reported that Lieberman recently sent a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, warning him about a potential threat from Egypt and requesting that Israel’s southern command be reinforced by three military divisions. ‘The Egyptian issue is much more disturbing than the Iranian problem,’ Lieberman was reported to have said during closed discussions on the topic…
Foreign Minister Muhammad Amr asked his ambassador in Tel Aviv to inquire about statements comparing the Egyptian threat to that of Iran, establishment daily Al-Ahram reported Monday.
‘[The Egyptian ambassador] will convey Egypt’s bewilderment at the publication of such words, attributed to a senior official in the Israeli government,’ read a statement issued by Egypt’s Foreign Ministry.
According to Maariv, Lieberman also criticized the fighting capabilities of the seven battalions Egypt sent to the Sinai recently to combat al-Qaeda operatives in the peninsula. The minister could not rule out the possibility that Egypt will divert more substantial military forces to the Sinai following the election of a new president in June, in violation of the 1979 peace treaty with Israel, Maariv reported.” Read more.
Education in America: Textbooks Are Being Systematically Rewritten to Include Lies, Half-Truths, and Misleading Narratives to Promote Islamist Agenda
Education Reporter – “Americans are well aware of the threat of violent terrorist attacks, but few know the extent to which Islamists have used less direct methods to spread their dangerous pro-Sharia agenda. Even fewer Americans realize that Islamists have been openly vocal about their plans to engage in a ‘stealth jihad’ effort to impose Sharia on the United States.
Your child’s textbooks have not gone untouched in this global campaign to undermine democracy and replace it with Islamic law. A new report from ACT for America, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating people about radical Islam, shows the results of the organization’s analysis of several dozen popular 6th- through 12th-grade textbooks used in U.S. public schools. The portrayals of Islam and Islamic history in these textbooks are enormously misleading, and often directly contradictory to established historical opinion. Your child’s textbooks have been systematically rewritten to include lies, half-truths, and misleading narratives about Islam that amount to an astonishing volume of historical revision.
The funding for these revisions comes largely from Saudi Arabia, where Arab petro-dollars have frequently been granted to pro-Islamist efforts. ACT for America explains:
Islamist revisionism in U.S. textbooks can be traced back to Saudi money and it is not a new phenomenon. Late in 1974, a state-of-the-art, well-funded Saudi-financed plan was undertaken by Arab states to seize hold of American public opinion and increase their influence over U.S. foreign policy. A central aspect of this plan was a rewrite of 20th century Middle Eastern history with the specific intent of altering American public opinion and policies pertaining to Israel. By the early 1990s, this effort to rewrite history was working its way backward in time to the 7th century and the founding of Islam. The reason for this was that revisionists realized that the imperialistic, violent and anti-Semitic history of Islam would undermine the narrative that Israel and the Jews have been the aggressors in the Middle East and Arab Muslims have been the victims.
Flashback: Islamic Indoctrination in Textbooks Sanitize the True, Dark Nature of the ‘Religion of Peace’ – “Political correctness has a double standard when it comes to teaching about religion in public schools. Drop Christianity down the memory hole but give extensive and mostly favorable coverage to Islam. Even the mainstream media have provided extensive coverage of the steady stream of court cases and threatening letters from the American Civil Liberties Union aimed at removing all signs of Judeo-Christianity from public schools. Not only must prayer be prohibited, a cross and the Ten Commandments removed or covered up, a valedictorian banned from thanking God for his help, a football coach prohibited from bowing his head during a student-led pre-game prayer, singing of Christmas carols banned, and school calendars required to recognize winter holiday instead of Christmas, but there is also the complete omission of the history of the Founding Fathers’ public recognition of Christianity.” Read more.
