Egyptian Judge Bans Christian Women In Nasr City From Voting In Egypt’s Referendum
Because allowing women to vote would be considered blasphemous to the religion of misogyny …
Al Arabiya – “A group of Egypt’s Christian women voters were banned on Saturday in Cairo’s Nasr City from casting their ballot in a disputed constitutional referendum, an Al Arabiya correspondent and AFP reported.
Nasr City was the scene of mass rallies last night as Islamists who support President Mohammed Mursi took to the streets.
Details of banning Coptic Christians from voting are not immediately available, but earlier the opposition National Salvation Front was quoted by AFP as saying that a judge in Nasr City forbade Christians from casting their vote.
On November 30, the draft constitution was passed by an assembly composed mostly of Islamists, in a marathon session, despite a walkout by secular activists and Christians from the 100-member panel.
If the constitution is approved by a simple majority of voters, the Islamists who gripped powered after Mubarak’s ouster would gain even more clout in the country. The current upper house of parliament, which is dominated by the Islamists, will be given legislative authority until a new parliament is elected.
If the constitution is refuted, elections would be held within three months giving a new panel the right to draft a new constitution. In the meantime, legislative powers would remain with the Egyptian President.” Read more.

Nigeria: Youths Of A ‘Yet To Be Ascertained Religion’ Burn Down Christian Church In Ilorin
The Guardian – “ARSONISTS suspected to be youths of yet to be ascertained religion in the early hours of Wednesday set ablaze a church building belonging to the Living Faith Church along Airport Road, Ilorin destroying properties estimated at several millions of naira.
The Secretary of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Kwara State, Cornelius Fawenu, condemned the incident, which he described as unfortunate, calling on the police to promptly apprehend those responsible.
The 300-capacity building sited directly opposite Aviation College Ilorin on Ilorin-Ogbomoso Road was completely razed.
Sources alleged that the immediate past Vice Chancellor of University of Ilorin who is also Secretary of Nigeria Inter-religious Council (NIREC), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, had, prior to the arson, visited the place and described the land as the property of Muslim Students Society (MSS).
According to Fawenu, Oloyede had on three different occasions visited the site and urged the authorities to stop the usage of the place for worship.
The leadership of the church had last Sunday approached the Divisional Police Officer at Adewole Estate area of the town for protection during morning service.
According to Fawenu, the church had legally purchased the land with all the relevant Deeds of Transfer obtained before embarking on the building.
But Oloyede in a chat with The Guardian Wednesday in Ilorin denied his alleged involvement in the development, noting that he was only trying to play a mediatory role due to his status in the NIREC.” Read more.
Pakistani Islamists To Christians: Give Us Money Or We Will Bomb Your School

BBC – “Authorities in Pakistan have held three people over a threat to bomb a church school in Islamabad unless it paid them $51,000 (£38,000), officials say.
A letter sent to the school, apparently by a little-known militant group, demanded cash for not bombing it.
It accused the church school of offering prayers for Pakistani schoolgirl Malala Yousafzai, who was injured by a Taliban gunmen in October.
Correspondents say this is being taken seriously by Pakistani intelligence .
The letter was received by the school in November and intelligence officials are still investigating.
It warned the church administration that they would be ‘responsible for the consequences’ if they reported the cash demand to the authorities.
The three arrests were made in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, police say.
The BBC’s Shahzad Malik in Islamabad says that the letter was sent by a previously unknown group called the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Suicide Attackers Group.
Our correspondent says that while the Pakistani Taliban generally assumes responsibility for militant attacks, insurgent groups operating in the field often chose a variety of different names.

An Obama Nation: Medical Companies Brace For ‘Devastating’ ObamaCare Tax, Prepare For Layoffs

‘These people are like family with us,’ he said.
The boss might not be able to hold out much longer. Come Jan. 1, an ObamaCare-tied tax specific to his industry is expected to go into effect. Though the Obama administration has downplayed the impact, DiMino calls it ‘devastating.’
‘I think after all of these decades of not laying people off, I think we may have to face that,’ DiMino told FoxNews.com. He predicted he might have to immediately lay off three people in his manufacturing division and possibly more after that.
DiMino, whose Bergen County, N.J., business currently employs 20 workers, is one of hundreds of CEOs across the country clamoring for Washington’s attention, urging lawmakers to kill the tax before it kills jobs.
In just the last few days, the intense lobbying push elicited some measure of response. On Monday, 18 Democratic senators and senators-elect asked Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid to delay the tax, citing the business impact. They noted the industry employs more than 400,000 people, and is dealing with ‘significant uncertainty and confusion.’
Many in the industry, though, have been clear-eyed about what the tax means — preemptive layoffs and significant cutbacks in research and development.
While DiMino is waiting for next year to see if he’ll need to fire workers, over at Uresil, LLC, in Skokie, Ill., the layoffs have already started.” Read more.
‘Disconcerting’: Thousands Of Humboldt Squid Wash Out Of Sea Of Cortez Near Baja Peninsula Onto California Shore
KSBW – “SANTA CRUZ, Calif. — Thousands of Humboldt red squid washed up on shores stretching from Santa Cruz to Aptos this week.
Beachgoers said the squid first began washing up in masses on Sunday and their squishy, inky bodies captured a lot of attention at Rio Del Mar State Beach, Seacliff Beach, Hidden Beach and Main Beach. Large numbers of squid continued to show up on Tuesday as they lined the shore at Pleasure Point in Santa Cruz.
Beachgoers and marine biologists alike were perplexed while trying to figure out why so many squid would suddenly wash up on shore in Santa Cruz.
‘Twenty washed up right in front of me,’ Jim Morrison said of his squid sighting at Main Beach in Santa Cruz. ‘It was like they were committing suicide.’
‘We went down to the beach to check it out and they’re just littered everywhere,’ beach-goer Andrew Carroll said. ‘It’s kind of disconcerting.’

CBS – “NEWTOWN, Conn. (CBSNewYork) – Twenty children are among 28 people who were killed Friday morning after a gunman opened fire at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn.
State Police Lt. Paul Vance said 18 children and 6 adults were pronounced dead at that scene. Two other children later died at the hospital. One other person was injured, Vance said.
A 28th victim was found dead at a secondary crime scene, Lance said. He would not elaborate on the details.
Among those dead is the gunman. A source familiar with the investigation identified him as 20-year-old Adam Lanza, CBS News reported. He was found dead inside the building from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, sources told CBS 2.
Law enforcement sources had earlier told CBS News that the gunman was 24-year-old Ryan Lanza, Adam Lanza’s older brother. Ryan Lanza, of Hoboken, New Jersey, is now being questioned by police.
The shooting has become the second-deadliest school shooting in the nation’s history, exceeded only by the 2007 massacre at Virginia Tech that left 33 people dead.” Read more.
Texas: Curriculum Under Fire For Teaching ‘Allah Is The Almighty God’, Calls Boston Tea Party ‘A Terrorist Organization’
By JOHN GRIFFING – “In the 70 percent of Texas public schools where a private curriculum has been installed, students are learning the ‘fact’ that ‘Allah is the Almighty God,’ charge critics of a new online curriculum that already is facing condemnation for its secrecy and restrictions on oversight.
The program, called CSCOPE, is a private venture operating under the umbrella of the Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative, whose incorporation documents state its independence from the State Board of Education of the Texas Education Agency.
Other reports previously have raised alarm over the curriculum’s depiction of the Boston Tea Party as a terrorist act on par with the 9/11 attack.
According to documentation that has leaked out, the program describes the Boston Tea Party this way: ‘A local militia, believed to be a terrorist organization, attacked the property of private citizens today at our nation’s busiest port. Although no one was injured in the attack, a large quantity of merchandise, considered to be valuable to its owners and loathsome to the perpetrators, was destroyed. The terrorists, dressed in disguise and apparently intoxicated, were able to escape into the night with the help of local citizens who harbor these fugitives and conceal their identities from the authorities. It is believed that the terrorist attack was a response to the policies enacted by the occupying country’s government. Even stronger policies are anticipated by the local citizens.’
There also have been reports that the curriculum – contrary to recent Supreme Court rulings – says the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the right to bear arms, is limited to state-run organizations.
‘The collective right’s advocates believed that the Second Amendment did not apply to individuals; rather it recognized the right of a state to arm its militia. It recognized limited individual rights only when it was exercised by members of a functioning, organized militia while actively participating in the militia’s activities.’

NSS – “Kuwaiti MPs this week approved a law with a death penalty for Muslims who curse God, the Koran, all prophets and the wives of Islam’s Prophet Mohammed. Non-Muslims who commit the same offence face a jail term of not less than 10 years, according to the bill.
Defendants who repent in court will be spared capital punishment but will get a jail sentence for five years and a fine of $36,000 or one of them, while repentance by those who repeat the crime is not acceptable, the bill says.
‘We do not want to execute people with opinions or thought because Islam respects these people… But we need this legislation because incidents of cursing God have increased. We need to deter them,’ opposition MP Ali al-Deqbasi said during the debate.
Shiite MPs also demanded that the bill impose the death penalty on anyone who curses their sect’s 12 revered Imams, but the Sunni-dominated parliament rejected their request.

Don’t Criticize The Taliban
Judicial Watch – “Here is a strong indicator that the Obama Administration’s crusade to appease Islam has gone too far; a new U.S. military handbook for troops deployed to the Middle East orders soldiers not to make derogatory comments about the Taliban or criticize pedophilia, among other outrageous things.
It gets better; the new manual, which is around 75 pages, suggests that Western ignorance of Afghan culture— not Taliban infiltration—is responsible for the increase in deadly attacks by Afghan soldiers against the coalition forces.
The soon-to-be-released Army handbook is still being drafted, but a mainstream newspaper got a sneak preview and published an article that should infuriate the American taxpayers funding the never-ending war on terror. The manual is being created because someone with authority bought the theory that cultural insensitivity is driving insider attacks on U.S. troops in Afghanistan.
More than three dozen insider attacks have killed 63 members of the U.S.-led coalition this year, according to the article, and some blame “American cultural ignorance.” The bottom line is that troops may experience social-cultural shock and/or discomfort when interacting with Afghan security forces, the new military handbook says. ‘Better situational awareness/understanding of Afghan culture will help better prepare [troops] to more effectively partner and to avoid cultural conflict that can lead toward green-on-blue violence.’
The draft leaked to the newspaper offers a list of ‘taboo conversation topics’ that soldiers should avoid, including ‘making derogatory comments about the Taliban,’ ‘advocating women’s rights,’ ‘any criticism of pedophilia,’ ‘directing any criticism towards Afghans,’ ‘mentioning homosexuality and homosexual conduct’ or ‘anything related to Islam.’
