Osun Defender – “The Joint Task Force (JTF) in Maiduguri code named ‘Operation Restore Order’, yesterday said it has uncovered a new kidnapping tactic by suspected Boko Haram sect members, who now disguise as cab drivers and pick unsuspecting teenage girls to unknown destinations.

This follows reports that hundreds of insurgents dislodged from their enclaves in Sambisa forest and parts of northern Borno, have found their way back to Maiduguri.

In a statement issued to newsmen by spokesman of the JTF, Lt. Col. Sagir Musa, the insurgents who now use taxi cabs, mostly Volkswagen Golf or Toyota Starlet with a driver and one passenger; also an accomplice, move around the town, soliciting for passengers along major roads and highways until they kidnap teenage girls.
‘For instance, three teenage girls were at different times and places kidnapped in Maiduguri metropolis in less than ten days using this method. Luckily, all the kidnapped girls were rescued by the JTF and handed over to their parents,’ it said.

This development introduces a new dimension to the activities of the sect who have been known in the past to rather kidnap dozens of affluent people for ransom.

The motive for their new found kidnapping of teenage girls has not been established yet but it might not be unconnected with using them as domestic and sex slaves as a search of one of the dislodged camp of the insurgents last month by Special Forces revealed a proliferation of used and unused male contraceptives.” Source – Osun Defender.

The footage appeared to show Umarov saying: ‘They (Russia) plan to hold the Olympics on the bones of our ancestors, on the bones of many, many dead Muslims – buried on the territory of our land on the Black Sea, and we as mujahideen are obliged not to permit that, using any methods allowed us by the almighty Allah.’

By ERICA BULMAN, Sun News Network – “SURREY, B.C. – A man and a woman have been charged in a terror plot targeting Canada Day at the B.C. legislature in Victoria, RCMP said Tuesday.

John Stewart Nuttall, in his late 30s, and Amanda Marie Korody, in her late 20s or early 30s, both of

Surrey, have each been charged with knowingly facilitating a terrorist activity, conspiracy to commit an indictable offence, and possession of an explosive substance.

Both are Canadian-born citizens.

‘This self-radicalized behavior was intended to create maximum impact and harm to Canadian citizens at the B.C. legislature on a national holiday,’ RCMP Assistant Commissioner Wayne Rideout said at a media briefing into the arrests.

Police would not say if they are linked to terror groups, but that the attacks were inspired by ‘al-Qaida ideology.’

‘This was a domestic threat without international linkages,’ assistant commissioner James Malizia said.

The plot stretches back five months, police said.

A photo of ‘inert’ explosive devices shown at the police conference show pressure cookers much like those used at the Boston Marathon bombing.

Police would not tip their hand into how the suspects were set up with the fake explosives, but said they collected them on Canada Day from spots around the outside of the legislature building and there was no danger to the public at any time.

Nuttall and Korody are in custody and were to appear in Surrey provincial court Tuesday morning.

In April, police charged two men with plotting to derail a Toronto-area passenger train in an operation they say was backed by al-Qaida elements in Iran. U.S. authorities later announced visa fraud charges against a Tunisian man they said was linked to that plot.” Read more.

Irony: Every Man Who Attended Wore a Dress

The conference, reportedly held at the University of Qassim last year, was attended by representatives from 15 nations, apparently all men.

The seats in the hall are filled with men in traditional Arab dress apart from one wearing a blue chequered shirt.

The photograph was published in a Saudi newspaper last year, and has since been making the rounds on social networks.

Twitter users have branded the image ‘absurd’, ‘the height of misogyny’ and ‘astonishing’ as the internet responded to what is only the latest proof of the gender gap in the Middle-Eastern nation.

Segregation between men and women in the oil rich country is widespread due to the ultra-conservative Wahhabi sharia law.

Restrictions mean they are not allowed to drive, they must use separate entrances at banks and offices, and a plan to build a city for female workers only has been announced.

They also need permission from a male relative or their husband to work, travel, study or marry and a woman’s testimony counts for less than that of a man in a court of law.” Read more.
