Berliner Kurier via Cheradenine Zakalwe, Islam verses Europe – “When men fight, it’s often about women. That’s how it was in the evening in Neukölln’s summer baths. But it wasn’t about love. It was about an emergency assistance effort.

At 7.50 pm, a woman suddenly started to feel unwell. That medics came to help her in the baths in Columbiadamm is actually completely normal and a matter of course. But this woman had relatives of immigrant origin.

According to the KURIER’s information, it went totally against the grain for these men to see the hands of other men on the body of their female family member. This is not so with all ‘Südländern’ [tn: ‘people from the South’, this is the euphemism German journalists normally use when talking about Turks]. But they lost it and became violent.

The atmosphere was loud and lousy with insults. Then two of the enraged people started with their fists on the medics, who were defenceless and completely taken by surprise. The rest of the family troop supported the attack with vile insults. Why that was could not be completely clarified. Nor could the question of whom the insults were actually directed at.

Nonetheless: ten police vehicle crews and numerous doses of pepper spray were necessary to bring the medics to safety. Fortunately no one was seriously injured during the deployment.

Pakistan: Wheelchair-Bound Christian Man Tortured In Front Of Wife Because Of ‘Blasphemous’ Text Message

By Theodore Shoebat, Frontpage Mag – “On 21st July 2013, a crippled Christian man, Shafaqat Emmanuel, and his wife, Shagufta Kausar, were arrested in Gojra District for allegedly sending blasphemous text messages to local Muslims. Police registered the FIR 407/13 under sections 295-B and 295-C. Complainants Muhmmad Hussain and Anwar Mansoor Goraya, Tehsil Bar Association president, alleged they received the blasphemous text messages from the number registered on Shagufta Kausar’s name.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Gojra City Police Station, Mr. Muhammad Nasir, said:

‘The police had verified that the SIM used to send the blasphemous text messages was registered in Shagufta’s name whereas her husband admitted to use her phone to send the messages to Hussain’

However, Shagufta told the police that they had lost the cell phone a month earlier. She denied the charges but police started 3rd degree torture on Shafaqat Masih, who is crippled and physically challenged. They tortured him in front of his wife and four children. Police forced him to confess to the charges or implicate others. Otherwise, they would start torturing his wife Shagufta. Then Shafaqat admitted that he had sent the messages, whereas when our lawyers visited Shafaqat Emmanuel, he denied the charges and stated:

“There is no man who can stand to see his wife being tortured by police, so to save my wife, I confessed.”

He further told the our legal team that:

“When we lost the phone and the SIM, I visited the nearby mobile shop many times to block our mobile SIM.”

According to our investigation, police confirmed Shafaqat’s statement with the mobile shop. The shop owner says that he came twice to block his SIM card.

Even after knowing the facts — that the couple had lost their cell phone and SIM card — police still registered an FIR against the crippled man and his uneducated wife.

Shagufta was working in ‘St. John Cathedral School’ as a maid. She was the only working hand in the family, as Shafaqat Emmanuel was in a wheelchair due to a firearm injury that paralyzed his lower body. The couple has four children – Zain (12), Danish (10), Joshua (8), and Sara (6).

According to the police authority, Muslim clerics, local lawyers and a Bar official were so furious that they remained in the police station until the FIR was written. Gojra is a religiously volatile city where a week ago a young Christian man was sentenced to life in prison on the same charges.” Read more.

When the Muslim Brotherhood was in power the Obama Administration largely ignored Egypt’s crackdown on Christians and even prepared to send the Islamist President a number of F-16 fighter jets. But with the Muslim Brotherhood forced out of power the Obama Administration has decided to condemn Egypt’s crackdown on Islamists and even halt F-16 shipments. Given the fact that Barack Hussein Obama actively employs members of the Muslim Brotherhood at the White House while inviting scores of known radical Islamists to meet with top administration officials hundreds of times, should we even be surprised? The Egyptian people who want to be free of Islamist rule can see what America’s President is doing. Reuters – “The White House condemned the Egyptian military’s bloody weekend crackdown on demonstrators on Monday but took no immediate steps to suspend US military assistance to Egypt.

White House spokesman Josh Earnest said the crackdown, in which 80 people were gunned down in Cairo, sets back the process of democratization in Egypt and does not square with the interim government’s pledge to swiftly return to civilian rule.

But asked if the violence would prompt the United States to suspend aid to Egypt’s military, Earnest said: ‘I don’t have any change in our posture to report to you today.’

He said aid is under review, as it has been since Egypt’s military takeover on July 3.

Europe’s top diplomat shuttled between Egypt’s rulers and the Muslim Brotherhood on Monday in an urgent mission to pull the country back from more bloodshed, but both sides were defiant and unyielding after the violence of this past weekend.

European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton, making her second visit in 12 days as one of the few outsiders still able to speak to both sides, made no public comment. Supporters and opponents of Morsi left no doubt about the depth of polarization in the Arab world’s most populous nation.

‘It’s very simple, we are not going anywhere,’ said Brotherhood spokesman Gehad El-Haddad, making clear the group intends to defy government orders to abandon a protest vigil of thousands of followers demanding Morsi’s return.

‘We are going to increase the protest,’ he told Reuters. ‘Someone has to put sense into this leadership.’

Backers of the military that deposed Morsi on July 3 were equally unbending, despite Saturday’s dawn carnage when security forces shot dead at least 80 Brotherhood supporters after a day of rival mass rallies.

‘We asked her (Ashton), would you accept an armed sit-in under your roof?’ said Mahmoud Badr, a leader of the Tamarud youth movement that mobilized huge protests against Morsi before the army moved against him.

‘What if al Qaeda had a sit-in in a European country? Would you leave it be?’ he asked reporters after meeting Ashton, echoing the army’s branding of its opponents as terrorists.” Read more.

CAIR Calls On Obama To Condemn Attacks Against Muslim Brotherhood In Egypt – “The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), America’s largest and most powerful Muslim advocacy group, called Saturday for the Obama administration to condemn military attacks against the Freedom and Justice Party, the controversial religious party removed from power in a recent coup that the Obama administration is insisting ‘was not a coup.’ The administration reportedly fears that declaring a coup d’etat in Egypt would force the U.S. to suspend all of its assistance programs in the country, which also help block weapons smuggling to Hamas terrorists in the Gaza Strip.” Read more.

By Ishfaq-ul-Hassan, dna – “The Grand Mufti of Kashmir, Bashir-ud-din Ahmad, is in the line of fire of singers’ community who want the controversial cleric to apologize for allegedly forcing young girls to disband their rock-band, Praagaash, five months ago.

Mufti Bashir was caught on tape enjoying music at a public function despite issuing fatwa calling music un-Islamic practice. The video, which has gone viral, has put the Mufti in an embarrassing situation.

‘Mufti sahib is seen enjoying the music — the same activity for which he imposed ban on these girls. It is hypocrisy. We should not have restricted the girls at that time… It’s high time he apologized to those girls,’ Waheed Jeelani, chairman of Kashmir Music Club, an apex body of singers and musicians, told dna.

Praagaash was disbanded in February after the Grand Mufti, who heads the self-styled supreme court of Shariat, issued a fatwa saying music is un-Islamic and asked the girls to stop their activities. ‘Mufti sahib is a human being and he too can enjoy music… But the decision to issue fatwa against young girls was wrong. The issue got so much hype that the girls have refused to rejoin the field. He has demolished their career,’ Waheed said.

Qaiser Nizami, another noted singer who sang gazals and Sufi kalams during the function attended by the Grand Mufti,  said he asked the Mufti Bashir about the fatwa and he replied that ‘he had opposed the way the girls were performing because it was not acceptable to the society’.

‘If the Mufti issues fatwa that music is haram (forbidden) then people like me who have no other source of income than singing will die of hunger,’ Nizami said.
However, a spokesman for the Mufti said there would be no compromise regarding the verdict against Praagaash.” Read more.

The Chakra – “On Friday July 26, 2013, Many Hindus were injured and 2 people were killed, including a Hindu women who died when Muslim mobs rioted on late Friday. Friday is the day that Muslims hold congregational prayer called Jumu’ah, usually preceded by sermons.

The violent clashes occurred in the Nagla Mal area of Meerut, a city within the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh (UP, and is a few hours away from the capital New Delhi. It has been reported that the violence began when groups of local Muslims were upset that a Hindu temple was playing Hindu devotional songs (bhajans) and forced the loudspeaker to be shutoff while beating a few Hindu men in the temple. Police tried to control the violent mob and is looking for the rioters involved. The governing party of Uttar Pradesh during these riots is the Samajwadi party.

Religious violence and riots are not new to Uttar Pradesh and India during the holy Islamic month of Ramadan as it is a sensitive month for many in the Muslim community . In the past few years there have been similar cases where Muslim mobs have vandalized Hindu temples and injured Hindus due to hearing Hindu religious songs on route to a Mosque or if a religious procession is passing a Hindu temple that is playing music.” Read more.

Coloradoan – “Fort Collins police have asked local religious organizations to keep an eye out for suspicious behavior after a self-proclaimed ‘Islamist jihadist’ threatened Mormons and Catholics ‘would be destroyed’ in the next two weeks, a memo sent by authorities said.

The man hadn’t been seen in the Fort Collins area as of Sunday, and there is no immediate danger to the public, Fort Collins Police Services Sgt. Mike West told the Coloradoan.

No further details, including the man’s identity, were immediately available. Threats were made in general regard to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and Catholic Church; no local organizations were specifically referenced in the FCPS memo.

Rev. Steven Voss said the Archdiocese of Denver shared with him on Friday the Fort Collins Police Services memo and reading its words of caution made his ‘blood run cold.’ But between Sunday Masses at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 300 W. Mountain Ave., Voss said he’s ‘pretty confident’ he and his parishioners won’t have an interaction with the man he was told was ‘nonviolent.’

To give worshipers a sense of peace, he asked an FCPS officer to keep watch during weekend services.

When he read the police bulletin during Mass Saturday, an ‘audible gasp’ escaped those seated in the pews. A day later, ‘after the initial, kind of having your breath taken away moment,’ there was a greater sense of calm, he believes was due in part to police presence.” Read more.

By Bruce Thornton, Defining Ideas – “Few people realize that we are today living through the largest persecution of Christians in history, worse even than the famous attacks under ancient Roman emperors like Diocletian and Nero. Estimates of the numbers of Christians under assault range from 100-200 million. According to one estimate, a Christian is martyred every five minutes. And most of this persecution is taking place at the hands of Muslims. Of the top fifty countries persecuting Christians, forty-two have either a Muslim majority or have sizeable Muslim populations.

The extent of this disaster, its origins, and the reasons why it has been met with a shrug by most of the Western media are the topics of Raymond Ibrahim’s Crucified Again. Ibrahim is a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center and an associate fellow of the Middle East Forum. Fluent in Arabic, he has been tracking what he calls ‘one of the most dramatic stories’ of our time in the reports and witnesses that appear in Arabic newspapers, news shows, and websites, but that rarely get translated into English or picked up by the Western press. What he documents in this meticulously researched and clearly argued book is a human rights disaster of monumental proportions.

In Crucified Again, Ibrahim performs two invaluable functions for educating people about the new ‘Great Persecution,’ to use the label of the Roman war against Christians. First, he documents hundreds of specific examples from across the Muslim world. By doing so, he shows the extent of the persecution, and forestalls any claims that it is a marginal problem. Additionally, Ibrahim commemorates the forgotten victims, refusing to allow their suffering to be lost because of the indifference or inattention of the media and government officials.

Second, he provides a cogent explanation for why these attacks are concentrated in Muslim nations. In doing so, he corrects the delusional wishful thinking and apologetic spin that mars much of the current discussion of Islamic-inspired violence.

Ibrahim’s copious reports of violence against Christians range across the whole Muslim world, including countries such as Indonesia, which is frequently characterized as ‘moderate’ and ‘tolerant.’ Such attacks are so frequent because they result not just from the jihadists that some Westerners dismiss as ‘extremists,’ but from mobs of ordinary people, and from government policy and laws that discriminate against Christians. Rather than ad hocreactions to local grievances, then, these attacks reveal a consistent ideology of hatred and contempt that transcends national, geographical, and ethnic differences.

The Economist – “ON JULY 5th the mufti of Trabzon gathered with other citizens for the first Friday prayers of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, not at a mosque but at an ancient Byzantine church. The gathering was a symbolic re-enactment of the conquest in 1462 of this ancient Greek Black Sea port by Mehmet II, the Ottoman sultan who had wrested Constantinople from the Byzantines in 1453. He marked his victory by converting the Haghia Sophia cathedral of today’s Istanbul into a mosque.

Haghia Sophia’s sister of the same name in Trabzon is less grand. Yet with its dazzling frescoes and magnificent setting overlooking the sea, the 13th-century building is regarded as one of the finest examples of Byzantine architecture. As with other Christian monuments, the Haghia Sophia in Trabzon has become a symbol in the battle between secularists and Islamists. It was converted into a mosque around the 16th century and, after other incarnations, became a museum in 1964. But the Islamists won the last round in 2012 when a local court accepted the claim by the General Directorate of the Pious Foundations, the government body responsible for Turkey’s historic mosques, that the Haghia Sophia belonged to the foundation of Mehmet II and was being ‘illegally occupied’ by the culture ministry.

The decision provoked surprising anger in a city notorious for its ultra-nationalist views. ‘It’s about erasing the Christian past, reviving Ottomanism,’ says a local historian. ‘There are enough mosques in Trabzon, half of them empty, what was the need?’ chimes in Zeki Bakar, a neighbourhood councillor. A lawsuit has been brought to undo the conversion.

Even so, the mildly Islamist Justice and Development (AK) government carried out the conversion in time for Ramadan. A red carpet now obscures exquisite floor mosaics. Shutters and tents beneath the central dome shield Muslim worshippers from ‘sinful’ paintings of the Holy Trinity. Shiny steel taps with plastic stools for ablutions clutter a once-verdant garden filled with ancient sculptures.” Read more.

The truth of the matter, however, is that Islam itself also associates the “prophet” Mohammed — whom Muslims claim to be the most “perfect man” to ever walk the face of the earth — with “Allah” himself. On one hand, Islam teaches that “Allah” has no partners, but then contradicts itself by teaching that someone cannot become a Muslim unless they acknowledge that “There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his messenger” per the Shahada. Unless one acknowledges Mohammed they cannot become a Muslim. In Islam, a Muslim’s “salvation” is therefore entirely determined by their obedience and devotion to Mohammed, effectively elevating the “prophet” of Islam to the same co-equal status of Islam’s own deity. To acknowledge “Allah” is not enough. You MUST acknowledge the “perfect man” Mohammed, too …

JNS – “In a recent visit as part of a humanitarian aid mission to Syria, Dr. John Eibner, CEO of Christian Solidarity International (CSI), met with a Syrian Christian man from the city of Qusayr who described the religious cleansing of his home by Islamic extremists.

According to CSI, before the civil war the city of Qusayr, located in eastern portion of Syria near the Lebanese border, had around 40,000 people, including 7,000 Christians.

‘In late 2011, the Sunni townsmen came and told us to either join us in anti-regime demonstrations or leave the town. If we didn’t, we would be killed,’ Fadul Abu Yohanna Kasouhah, a Christian resident of Qusayr, described to CSI.

According to Fadul, the Sunni Islamists in his village used the loudspeakers from the Mosques to name the Christian families by name and told them to leave.

Fadul told CSI how his cousin was gunned down by Sunni extremists for refusing to leave.

‘My cousin Bater said, ‘We will not leave. This is our town, our land.’ He was recently married, and his wife was seven months pregnant. They shot him to death as he was going to work on his motorbike,’ Fadul said.

Eventually, the local Sunni extremists were joined by foreign Islamic jihadists and cleansed the town of Christians, according to Fadul.” Read more.

The crime was that the daughter had married a man of her own choice, and not that of the head of her family. The father was so vindictive he waited five years to take revenge for his ‘honour’. He was quite satisfied after taking his revenge on the grand children, who had nothing to do with their mother’s decision to marry of her own choice. He didn’t stop there either. He also killed two young men, brothers of the groom, as he held them responsible too for dishonouring his prestige.

Ms. Shahnaz Tahir, resident of Tara Singh village in Depalpur, Okara district, Punjab Province, was brutally murdered by her father and his henchmen on the night of 22nd July. Shahnaz had tied the knot with Mr. Tahir Sarwar five years ago. She eloped with Tahir, an action which brought social stigma to her family. His father vowed to kill his daughter, following a practice understood to be traditional.

Tahir, after marriage, left his home town along with his wife and lived in another city due to fear of honor killing. After five years of marriage, they decided to visit their parents, thinking that now their parents would accept them and their innocence. But when daughter and his son-in-law arrived at the house, Shahnaz’s father opened fire with weapons, and as a result Shahnaz, her husband Tahir Sarwar, and their two children, Adnan and Ramsha, and their two brothers-in-law, Mr. Zahid and Mr. Nawaz, were all killed. After the massacre Shahnaz’s father was satisfied and opted to run away with his henchmen. A case has been filed with the police and, as per usual, the investigation continues.” Read more.

First they gained entry to the rectory of Libiola and stole the money collected by the children of Grest, and then, still not happy, they entered the nearby church which, since last year’s earthquake, is a simple tensile structure made of plastic and defecated and urinated next to the altar. This was a contemptuous act of vandalism and sacrilege. The culprits were identified, because a woman saw them coming out of the tent. They were four boys of Moroccan origin, one resident in Serravalle, the others from Ostiglia and surroundings.

The incident happened on Thursday afternoon, but the parish priest, Father Eugenio Ferrari, has only yesterday made an official complaint to the police. That day the parish house of Libiola, inhabited by two nuns, was empty and locked because the sisters, along with the parish priest, had gone on a trip with the children of the Grest on a day trip to a mountain resort. Undisturbed, then, the criminals broke the lock of a back door and entered. They climbed upstairs and also forced the lock on the bedroom of the Sister Superior. In a bag in a drawer there were about eighty euro, the takings of the third week of Grest, plus a portion of the proceeds of a summer risotto organized by the group of children and parents. Having carried out the theft, the group was still not satisfied to leave. They wanted to leave their mark. A mark of vandalism, that because the place where it was made, also takes on the meaning of a provocation, a disgraceful affront.

Without difficulty, the criminals cut the plastic edge of the tent used as a church and, once inside, they left droppings near the altar. In the tent there is absolutely nothing to steal, then having terminated their organic needs, the thieves-vandals are gone. Apparently, a local woman saw them run away and recognized one, the one who lives in Libiola. The police identified the other three accomplices after receiving the complaint of the pastor. Up to now, four people have been identified, four boys of Moroccan origin living in and around Libiola Ostiglia…” Read more.

Nigeria: Young Christian Girls At Risk Of Abduction, Many Held In Homes Of Muslim ‘Leaders’

And if “Allah” deems something lawful, who are we to question it? Once again we have more examples of Islamists conquering, seeking to conquer, and taking the spoils …

Christian Today – “Christian girls in northern Nigeria are increasingly at risk of abduction by Muslims who are then forcing them to renounce their faith.

Professor Daniel Babayi, of the Northern Christian Association of Nigeria, told Barnabas Fund that Christian girls below the age of 18 were being targeted.

The girls are held in the homes of Muslim leaders but when Christians report this to the police, they say there is nothing they can do.

‘The police have become very helpless.  In some instances, they are part of the conspiracy,’ said Professor Babayi.

Last year, militant Islamic group Boko Haram threatened to kidnap Christian women as part of ‘new efforts to strike fear into the Christians of the power of Islam’, Barnabas reports.

Boko Haram has stated its intention to eradicate Christians from northern Nigeria and implement a strict interpretation of Sharia law across the region.

The group has repeatedly attacked Christian communities and churches, most recently killing 40 at a boarding school in Yobe state on 6 July.  A dormitory was set alight in the attack and those fleeing gunned down.

Last month, an attack on a secondary school in Yobe and another school in Borno left 16 students dead.

Barnabas Fund added that Boko Haram was recruiting unschooled and unemployed children, sometimes by force.” Source – Christian Today.
