Venezuela: Five Muslim Passengers ‘With Fake Tickets And No Visas’ Found Aboard Toronto-Bound Flight

There’s no confirmation on what the motive may have been, but it wouldn’t be surprising if this was much more than a simple case of “human trafficking” …

AFP – “A Toronto-bound flight was stopped shortly before departure from Caracas when four Iranians and an Afghan were found aboard with fake tickets and no visas, Venezuelan officials said Saturday.

The captain of Air Canada Flight 075 discovered there were five extra passengers aboard his flight as it was scheduled to depart late Friday, said Luis Graterol, the head of the Simon Bolivar Maiquetia International Airport.

All those on board were forced to disembark and military officials identified the suspicious passengers, Graterol told the state-runVenezuelan News Agency.

The Iranians and the Afghan ‘did not have a visa to enter Canada, nor legitimate tickets,’ Graterol said.

He added that the flight had been delayed for five hours due to the incident.

The office of Venezuela’s prosecutor general said that charges will be pressed against four people in the case: a member of Venezuela’s immigration office, an Air Canada employee, and two workers with an airport security company.” Read more.

By Ian Talley, The Wall Street Journal – “Somali pirates and their marauding peers off the Horn of Africa plundered roughly $400 million in the last seven years, financing slavery, arms deals, drugs trafficking, and legitimate business investments, according to a new report published Friday.

In the ground-breaking study, ‘Pirate Trails, the International Criminal Police Organization,’ United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime and World Bank track financial flows from piracy around Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Seychelles and Somalia.

The report is based on interviews with crime-fighting agencies, former pirates, government officials, and bankers and analyzes investments made by several dozen pirate financiers.

‘Unchallenged piracy is not only a menace to stability and security, but it also has the power to corrupt the regional and international economy,’ said Stuart Yikona, a World Bank senior financing specialist and co-author of the report.

Globally, the bank estimates piracy costs the global economy about $18 billion a year in increased trade costs.

It’s a downward spiral for the local economy that inflames political and economic instability. Piracy in East Africa has been a significant factor in the fall in tourism and fishing yields. Remittances — international cash lifelines for many poor families — have dropped off as banks shut down operations.” Read more.

A keynote speaker at the October 2013 Islamic Peace Conference in Oslo, addressing an audience of several hundred ordinary Muslim citizens, repeatedly made the point that ‘normal’ Muslims hold to the same Koranic principles mandating abhorrent  punishments as do the ‘extremists,’ concluding that this cultural and scriptural contiguity somehow proves that normal Muslims are not extremists. Go figure! What he actually succeeded in showing is that Islam is Islam and not the innocuous doppelgänger we ludicrously wish or assume it to be. It is from its very origins a conquering religion that has never ceased throughout its more than 1400 year history to pursue its constitutive and self-defining aims. Like the tide, it has advanced and receded many times over, but it is now poised to complete an inundation from which we in the West may not recover. And we have only ourselves to blame.

There are, broadly speaking, five categories of individuals who refuse to take the Islamic threat seriously or who claim that no such credible threat even exists, namely: (1) overt or covert sympathizers and allies; (2) those who have been bought off with fees, perquisites or substantial gifts of money or donations to a cause or institution; (3) those who feel secure and protected, imbued with a ‘gated community’ mindset, convinced they are exempt from any possible menace (no mosque will ever be built in their neighborhoods); (4) those who have been intimidated into keeping a low profile; and (5) the indifferent or ignorant, the low information — no information majority uninterested in or oblivious to the wider issues that impinge upon the health of the culture or the well-being of society.

Such attitudes bear an uncanny resemblance to the prognosis spelled out for Western civilization in the cataclysmic vision of Oswald Spengler’s The Decline of the West.” Read more.

I guess the proclamation that “Allah is Greater!” wasn’t enough. Sadly, these are obviously not Bible-believing Christians. If they were none of them would have even entertained the thought of funding the construction of a mosque in the name of a god who commands his followers to convert, curse and kill all who refuse to submit to Islam. Is it any wonder, then, that when the doctrines of demons are given heed over the faith of Christ that churches eventually find their doors shuttered, only to be re-opened as mosques? …

According to Islamic teachings in the Great White North, criminals should have limbs removed or be killed, homosexuals should be stoned to death, certain non-Muslims should be overtly discrimated against, all Jews should be hated with a passion, killing Christians isn’t such a big deal, girls should be segregated, wives should be controlled or beaten if disobedient, all non-Muslim women should dress like a Muslim or risk being raped, and Islam should be imposed by force upon the entire planet. Although religious freedom in Canada includes freedom of religious speech, Canadian law prohibits the promotion of hatred against women and against sections of the public distinguished by color, race, religion, ethnic origin, or sexual orientation. Unless, it seems, the one promoting it is a Muslim preacher …

“She needs to have the permission of her husband for a number of things, including, leaving the home…communicating and speaking with others…”

That sounds like a real gift from Allah.

Fortunately with immigration, Canadians and Westerners don’t need to visit Iran or Saudi Arabia to experience this enlightened attitude toward women speaking or leaving the house.

ABNA – “A schoolboy was stunned to find the word ‘Allah’ on the last chocolate biscuit in the packet.

Little Imran Abdur-Rahman, seven, spotted the Arabic letters in his Cadbury’s Crunchie biscuit he was about to scoff.

Dad Mohammed, 36, who took the picture, told the Manchester Evening News: ‘He recognised it straight away and came running to me.

‘I looked at it and I was surprised to see that was exactly what it was.

‘Imran is not very patient and when he’d shown it to me he said ‘dad, give it back now. I want to eat it.’

‘It all happened quite quickly, I was not thinking at all, but I did manage to hold on to it for a while.’

Amazingly, this isn’t the first time the family has received a mysterious message from God.

In 1997 dad Mohammad found ‘Allah’ inside a tomato while working at his brother’s takeaway in Bolton.

But the dad-of-four, who lives in Chadderton, Greater Manchester, has modestly shrugged off his discoveries.

‘These things happen now and then,’ the human resource manager said.

As recently revealed on CTV, in a village called Maghlaga, in the district of Malawi—where Muslim Brotherhood supporters earlier ransacked and plundered a museum housing Egyptian antiquities—a Muslim gang leader known as ‘Saddam’ has been going to every one of the approximately 80 Coptic households in the village demanding jizya/extortion money from them.

One inhabitant of the village confirmed that Muslim Brotherhood members are behind Saddam, specifically informing him how much money each household can be squeezed of, so that most households are paying anywhere from 20,000-100,000 Egyptian pounds (from 3-15 thousand U.S. dollars).

Yasser, the village resident reporting, said that Saddam told the Copts that ‘Everyone is going to pay and whoever doesn’t pay we’ll take his son, his wife—we’ll violate the people to the utmost extreme.’

During the live news show it was further revealed that in the region of Shubrat al-Khaima, another young Coptic child was kidnapped, with demands that his parents pay 250,000 EP (nearly 40,000 USD). After the father complied and met them alone with the money in a secret place, the kidnappers took the money, beat the father severely, and still kept his child.

Such hate for Egypt’s Christians is hardly unprecedented. Earlier another Muslim man kidnapped a 6-year-old Christian boy and, after the family paid the ransom, still killed the child and threw his body in his sewer.” Source – Jihad Watch.

Pakistan: Violent Muslim Mob Destroys Christian Store, Accuses Owners Of ‘Blasphemy’ Against The Qur’an

Arif Masih and Tariq Masih are owners of a store where they sell fireworks in Thatta Faqirullah (Wazirabad , Punjab ) . On October 27 they sold Muhammad Zahid a set of fireworks for his wedding party. Since some of them failed to go off, some of the wedding guests opened them to see why they did not work and found that the powders were wrapped in pages containing verses of the Koran. The discovery shocked the newlyweds and their guests who immediately destroyed the store of both Christians and denounced the two to the police.

Tariq Masih tells AsiaNews : ‘We do not manufacture fireworks, we buy them from a factory near Gujranwala and we do not know what materials they use. Moreover, these factories are owned by Muslims and no Christian works inside there.’

Tariq adds : ‘We have not even touched the pages of the Koran. The idea of using these pages for fireworks is beyond all imagination because we are well aware of the consequences.’

The people of Thatta Faqirullah did not believe the two Christians and called on the police to arrest them and an exemplary punishment for those who insult Islam. Several have threatened that if the police do not act, they will hunt and kill them to the two blasphemers themselves.” Read more.

CBN News – “Increased violence in northern Iraq is pushing Christians out of that part of the country.

The Kurdish north was considered a safe area for Christians fleeing from violent persecution in the central and southern regions. But bombings in recent months are causing panic and many are fleeing the country.

Al qaeda has claimed responsibility for several of those attacks. Some Christians have been told by local police that they ‘should not be in Iraq because it is Muslim territory.’

The Christian charity Open Doors International is urging people around the world to pray for Christians in Iraq.

Agenzia Fides – “The bodies of thirty Christian civilians have been found in two separate mass graves, including women and children, killed by Islamist militias in the city of Sadad. And, altogether, the Christian civilians killed in a small town halfway between Homs and Damascus are 45. This is what the Syrian Orthodox Patriarchate in Damascus reported to Fides. The city of Sadad, a Christian settlement, was invaded and occupied by Islamist militias on October 21 and was recaptured in recent days by the Syrian regular army. When the representatives of the Patriarchate and the families of the victims returned to town they found to their horror two mass graves, where they found the bodies of their relatives and friends. In an atmosphere of grief, outrage and emotion, the funerals of the thirty Christians were celebrated by Archbishop Selwanos Boutros Alnemeh, Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan of Homs and Hama, who provided Fides the list of victims.

According to eyewitnesses, many of the civilians were killed by militia gangs of ‘Al- Nusra Front’ and ‘Daash’. The city is now completely destroyed and looted. Some of the militants who invaded the city were holed up in the Syriac Orthodox Church of St. Theodore, which was profaned. Surprise: 28 Solar Flares In The Last Seven Days, And More May Be Coming

By Deborah Netburn, Los Angeles Times – “The sun has erupted more than two dozen times over the last week, sending radiation and solar material hurtling through space – and scientists say more eruptions may be coming.

This shouldn’t be unusual. After all, we are technically at solar maximum, the peak of the 11-year cycle of the sun’s activity. But this has been a noticeably mellow solar maximum, with the sun staying fairly quiet throughout the summer. So when our life-giving star suddenly let loose with 24 medium strength M-class solar flares and four significantly stronger X-class flares between Oct.  23 and Oct. 30, it felt like a surprise.

Many of the flares originated from sunspot AR1884, a particularly active region of the sun that is currently facing Earth, almost at the center of the star. If this region stays active, it will continue to hurl radiation and solar material our way for about another week until it rotates out of sight.

A sunspot is an area of the sun where the magnetic fields have gotten all twisted up. ‘You get a tangled bunch of magnetic fields, and they get too tangled and too stressed, they end up erupting,’ said Holly Gilbert, a solar physicist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

The good news is that none of the rapid-fire solar flares of the last week have had much effect on life on Earth. Our atmosphere protects us from the sun’s occasional powerful bursts of light and radiation, but solar flares do occasionally interact with our communications systems. The radiation can mess with an upper layer in our atmosphere called the ionosphere and cause radio signals to act funky.” Read more.

Eritrean Christian Refusing To Renounce Her Faith Dies In Prison After Being Denied Medical Treatment

By John Evans, Baptist Press – “A Christian woman perished from pneumonia in an Eritrean prison after facing harsh conditions and denial of medical treatment — all because she would not renounce her faith.

Open Doors, an organization supporting the global persecuted church, reported this week that Wehazit Berhane Debesai is the 25th known Christian to have died in prison in Eritrea. According to the report, the exact date of death of the woman in her 30s is unknown. Eritrean authorities arrested her a year ago. They held her near the Ethiopian border for being involved in Christian activities outside the Orthodox, Catholic and Evangelical Lutheran church groups.

Debesai’s death came as government forces arrested 70 Christians who met for prayer in the capital of Asmara, according to Open Doors. It is the third time the pastor who led the prayer event has been thrown in prison for his faith. This latest development brings the total number of Christians arrested this year in Eritrea to nearly 300. Local Christians call it the government’s most serious campaign against the church so far.

In what may be a separate event, according to conflicting reports, government security forces arrested 185 Christians praying together in a suburb to the north of Asmara. According to Release International, a United Kingdom-based group serving the persecuted church, most of those arrests involved women.

‘Our Eritrean partners say church leaders fear this mass arrest could herald a new clampdown on Christians and a wave of further detentions,’ Paul Robinson, chief executive of Release International, told the UK-based charity Cross Rhythms.

The Christians were believed to have gathered to pray for the country’s refugee crisis. The United Nations reports thousands of Eritreans try to flee every month despite an alleged ‘shoot-to-kill’ policy by security forces against anyone attempting to escape.

‘The arrest has alarmed underground church leaders, who fear that this may be a sign of things to come,’ Robinson said.” Read more.
