Attorney William Hochul held a press conference Wednesday morning to discuss the arrest of Arafat Nagi’s [sic], 44, accused of attempting to support a terrorist organization. Nagi allegedly attempted to join ISIL and pledge allegiance to the terrorist organization. In two separate trips, Nagi traveled from Lackawanna to Turkey, the criminal complaint alleges, and he purchased items including military combat gear such as night vision goggles and black flags … The complaint also alleges that the Lackawnna community said that Nagi espoused violent jihad and believed that he constituted a threat to those in the U.S.” Read more.

Idaho Muslim Wanted To Detonate Bomb At Park During July 4 Celebration – “A confidential FBI source testified Monday that Boise may have been among the intended targets of terrorism suspect Fazliddin Kurbanov… The FBI source said Kurbanov told him he wanted to detonate a bomb at a public park during a Fourth of July celebration. The suspect allegedly said a Boise park would make a good target due to the crowds and high number of military families that would be in attendance. ‘All those people, they bring their families,’ the informant testified Kurbanov told him. ‘In Boise, Idaho there’s a lot of military families. They bring their families to show (them) the fireworks.’ Ann Morrison Park, which hosts Boise’s fireworks show and all-day activities, drew thousands of people on Independence Day this year. Kurbanov told the source his other preferred target would be a military base.
