The Israeli press writes about this with reference to a statement by the head of the National Security Council (NSC) of Israel, Tzachi Hanegbi.
The Israel Defense Forces is preparing to begin hostilities in neighboring Lebanon; the operation will be carried out if Hezbollah refuses to voluntarily move a significant distance from the Israeli border. Tel Aviv announced its readiness to discuss Hezbollah’s retreat at joint negotiations, but doubts that the Shiites will agree to a deal.
According to available information, Israel has already given Hezbollah a 48-hour ultimatum to withdraw beyond the Litany River, located approximately 25-30 km from the Israeli border. Otherwise, the Israel Defense Forces will invade Lebanese territory with the aim of destroying Hezbollah’s entire infrastructure.
