Egypt: More Than 100 Christian Families Flee The Sinai After Islamists Threaten To Kill Them All

AsiaNews – “More than a hundred Christian families have fled El Arish in the Sinai after receiving death threats from Islamist groups following the fall of Mohamed Morsi. On 6 July, a 39-year-old priest, Fr Mina Haroan Abboud, was killed. On 11 July, the body of another Christian, a merchant from Sheikh Zowayd, was found decapitated. He had been kidnapped a few days before. Currently, Coptic churches in northern Sinai have cancelled all services and meetings, except for a Mass on Friday. No Christians are left in the towns of Rafah and Sheikh Zowayd.

The Sinai Peninsula has always been a home for Islamist groups, many of them linked to Hamas in Gaza. For decades, they have fought against the Egyptian army as it tried to stop weapon supplies and smuggling into the Gaza Strip. Under Morsi and the Brotherhood, the army had reduced pressure on them but now the military is back in force following the fall of Hosni Mubarak’s successor.

In the few days since Morsi’s removal, the Sinai has seen dozens of attacks against police stations, army checkpoints, and individual members of the Armed Forces. But attacks have also been carried out against the Christians, ‘guilty’ of supporting Morsi’s fall.

On 5 July, a Jihadist group using the name Ansar al-Shari’a in the Land of Kinaanah (i.e. Egypt) issued a statement promising to respond to the ‘war against Islam in Egypt,’ a war waged by ‘secularists, atheists, Mubarak loyalists, Christians, security forces and the leaders of the Egyptian Army.’

In its statement, the group describes democracy as ‘blasphemous’ in assuming one of God’s prerogative and warns of impending ‘massacres of Muslims in Egypt’.

Christians, especially Patriarch Tawadros, are accused of conniving with the army to remove Mohamed Morsi.

Coptic Patriarch Tawadros and the Grand Imam of Al Azhar Mosque Ahmed al-Tayeb were present at the ceremony in which Morsi’s removal was announced.

In many pro-Morsi manifestations organised recently by the Muslim Brotherhood, al-Tayeb is branded as a ‘traitor.’

The Coptic patriarch has also been accused of betraying Egypt. Three days ago in Heliopolis, at least 2,000 young members of the Muslim Brotherhood wrote ‘Down with Tawadros’ on the walls of a (Catholic) church during a demonstration that lasted several hours.

It is likely that the Coptic minority will be scapegoated for President Morsi’s fall and the Brotherhood’s loss of power.

‘Tensions are high,’ Christian sources in Egypt told AsiaNews, also because the Brotherhood, aided by infiltrated jihadists, is planning a series of anti-Christian terrorist attacks.” Read more.

[A] topic of concern was the image globally projected of Islam and its frequent association with violence. Muslim panelists and member-state representatives insisted on the inherently peaceful character of their personal faith and state religion.

Slimane Chikh, Ambassador of the OIC’s UN mission in Geneva, stressed that Islam is a religion that accepts dissent.

In a debate on the implementation of Paragraph 5 (e) of Resolution 16/18, Ambassador Ömür Orhun, the Permanent Representative of Turkey to the OSCE, regretted use of the term ‘Islamic terrorism’ by the Western media following terrorist attacks like the 2005 London bombings. ‘There is no such thing as Islamic terrorism,’ he said.

US Ambassador Kozak responded that terrorists are often labeled as such in Western countries precisely because this is what they term themselves. Most ‘Islamic terrorists’ are self-proclaimed as such…

Regrettably, the conference turned a blind eye to terrorism committed by Islamist extremists even as it met. On June 19th, the conference’s opening day, The Times reported that 16 students had been shot dead in Nigeria by suspected Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram, whose name roughly translates as ‘Western education is sin.’ …

… He also expressed concern that the conference’s overall narrative was unhelpfully framed in terms of ‘the West versus the rest,’ with prime focus on the West’s failure to enact prohibitions on free speech; and this despite the fact that the countries where the most religious violence takes place tend to be those that have blasphemy laws in place.

Pakistan reacted indignantly, dismissing the Muslims in America that had been cited by the US delegation as having praised American tolerance as merely ‘rented Muslims’ – a term that Ambassador Kozak rejected.” Read more.

Sweden: Arctic Muslims Risk Health During Ramadan Sunrise To Sunset Fasting

If the world truly was flat like the Qur’an suggests then Muslims living north of the Arctic circle wouldn’t be having this confusing problem …

The Local – “Swedish Muslims north of the Arctic circle have long waited for and feared this summer. When the sun never sets, they have pondered how to observe Ramadan, when devout Muslims fast from sun up to sun down for a month.

‘Kiruna is as high up as you get in Sweden, the sun never sets during this month,’ Ali Melhem, 45, who has lived in Kiruna for 24 years told The Local. As the fasting month is set by the moon, Ramadan usually moves about 10 days forward in the calender each year, which means this is the first summer it has proved a 24-hour dilemma for Melhem.

‘When I first moved here, Ramadan was in the spring.’

In attendance for the day when Ramadan would run smack bang into the near three-month stretch of never-ending sun, Shia Muslim Melhem has not remained idle in doing his research.

‘My wife and I couldn’t make that choice, so we’ve consulted mullahs from Iraq to Iran. They say we can wait to fast until the autumn,’ he said, adding that some Sunni Muslims in Kiruna have chosen to break their fast when the sun sets over Mecca as a solution to their dilemma. Ramadan this years started on July 9th and should last until August 7th.

‘I did check if I could follow the sun times in a nearby Swedish town like Luleå or Umeå, but even fasting for 23 hours a day is a bit difficult,’ father-of-three Melhem said.

There is still no consensus, however, on how Muslims living in Scandinavia should observe Ramadan without jeopardizing their health, according to Omar Mustafa, president of the Islamic League in Sweden.

‘Several imams and organisations have different opinions. It is up to each individual to decide, but it is not meant that you should fast around the clock. Islam provides many options,’ Mustafa told the media.

Ramadan is an annual observance by Muslims who are obliged to fast from dawn to sunset for a month often in summer.” Read more.

Australia: ‘Savior Of Humanity’ Misinfomercials Using Fake Quotes From Fictitious Book

Claiming something real that is actually fake? Where have I heard that before? Here’s an update on this story out of Australia. It appears that Islam’s other “Savior of Humanity” needs to bolster the claim by quoting imaginary quotes from yet another fabrication …

By Rachel Baxendale, The Australian – “ANTI ‘Islamophobia’ advertisements due to screen on major free-to-air channels from today rely on a fabricated quote from Irish playwright and avowed atheist George Bernard Shaw, from a book that does not exist, according to the International Shaw Society.The 30-second ads have been funded by the Sydney-based Mypeace organisation, which says it hopes to ‘build bridges’ between Muslims and other Australians.

Animated with voiceovers and with quotations displayed on the screen, they feature major historical figures including Mahatma Gandhi and Shaw praising the prophet Mohammed.

The advertisements quote Shaw proclaiming the prophet Mohammed was ‘the saviour of humanity’ in a book he is supposed to have written entitled The Genuine Islam.

But International Shaw Society treasurer Richard F Dietrich said he had compiled a complete list of Shaw’s works, which did not include the book.

‘I think The Genuine Islam is bogus,’ he said. In his writings, Shaw described the religion in a 1933 letter to Rev Ensor Walters as ‘ferociously intolerant’.

‘Mahomet rose up at the risk of his life and insulted the stones (that the Arabs worshipped) shockingly, declaring that there is only one God, Allah, the glorious and the great . . . And there was to be no nonsense about toleration,’ Shaw wrote.

‘You accepted Allah or you had your throat cut by someone who did accept him, and who went to Paradise for having sent you to Hell.’

The suggestion that Shaw may have written a book entitled The Genuine Islam has its origins in an interview between Shaw and Muslim propagandist Maulana Mohammed Abdul Aleem Siddiqui published in a Muslim periodical in January 1936.

The interview took place in Mombasa, Kenya, some time between April 10 and 20, 1935, and copies of the periodical remain.

UK: Teacher Refused To Give Boy, 10, Water During Hottest Day Of The Year To Avoid Offending Muslim Pupils Observing Ramadan

A public school teacher bowing down to “Allah” in an effort to not offend the perpetually offended should be suspended. If it was the other way around, would a Muslim teacher in a predominantly Muslim country have cared if a Christian student may have thought they were being treated “unfairly”? …

Daily Mail – “An angry mother has accused a primary school of denying her child water on one of the hottest days of the year for fear of upsetting pupils observing Ramadan.

Kora Blagden, 32, claimed a teacher at her son Luke’s school refused to let the 10-year old drink from his water bottle because it was unfair to fasting classmates.

Many pupils at Charles Dickens Primary School, Portsmouth, Hampshire, are fasting during Ramadan, which means they refrain from taking food or water between sunrise and sunset for around 30 days, depending on the moon.

Mother-of-four Kora said: ‘Just before bedtime me and my sons Luke, ten, and Alfie, eight, were talking about Ramadan as we had seen it on the news.

‘Luke said to me he was told he wasn’t allowed to drink in class by his teacher.

‘The reason being, a child who is fasting had a headache and the teacher said it would be unfair if the other children drank in front of the pupil.

‘They normally have their bottles on their table but they were kept in a tray by the teacher.

‘He went along with it but he was thirsty and didn’t want to offend the other children.

‘Alfie said he was allowed to drink in the morning but not in the afternoon.

‘Luke was dehydrated when he got home and drunk three glasses of water straight away.’

The teacher made the ruling on Thursday when temperatures soared to 28C.” Read more.

Egyptian Foreign Minister: ‘Obama Told Me He Is Still A Muslim, Who Supports The Muslim Agenda’

I have no reason to doubt Egypt’s Foreign Minister. Obama certainly acts like one …

Aboul Gheit made this statement on Nile-TV. Here is a report on the incident by Israeli Today, an Egyptian magazine:

Aboul Gheit said he had a one-on-one meeting with Obama, where the US President told him that He was still a Muslim, the son of a Muslim father, the step son of Muslim stepfather, that his half brothers in Kenya are Muslims, and that he was sympathetic towards the Muslim agenda.

Aboul Gheit claimed Obama told the Arabs to show patience. Obama promised that once he overcame some domestic issues, like the Health care reform, he would show the Muslim World how to deal with Israel.

For obvious reasons, most American media is ignoring this news event in Egypt.

Obama is the mainstream media’s darling. God forbid they expose him for being a Muslim. Imagine: If what Adul Gheit says is true, American voters have elected a Muslim as the Commander in Chief of the United States of America.

Of course, what Aboul Gheit said may not be true — so, we are left to interpret the story ourselves.

Whatever the case may be, the Obama Administration has shown they largely support Islam. The term ‘Islamic Terrorism’ is now banned from American jargon. Obama and his colleagues have tried time and time again to present Islam to the American people in a positive light, and as a religion of peace.” Read more.

UK: Did Muslims Just Murder Another Soldier On The Streets Of Britain?

Another British soldier was murdered in the street and three have been arrested. This time, however, the police and the media have failed to identify the suspects either by name or, as often is the case in the UK, by ethnicity. Why? Was this another jihadist killing? Are they worried about another “[dubiously] sustained wave of [dubious] attacks” against the Islamic community? If not, then why were the suspects not identified? I don’t have any evidence that this was related to violent jihad, but I don’t have any evidence that it wasn’t, either …

Wirral Globe – “A 26-year-old former soldier from Moreton has died after being attacked in a taxi rank queue in the town of Rugby.

David Ryding was so badly injured in the assault, which happened in the early hours of Sunday morning, he was put on a life-support machine at University Hospital Coventry & Warwickshire.

A statement from Warwickshire Police today said: ‘It soon became apparent that nothing could be done to save him and life was pronounced extinct at 3.30am this morning and his life-support machine has been turned off.’

Police arrested a 21-year-old man from Rugby on suspicion of murder following the incident, which occurred at the Clock Tower in Market Place, Rugby.

Two further men aged 25 and 27 have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

All three are currently in police custody while the investigation progresses.

Mr Ryding, who lived in Moreton with his wife Nicola and young daughter, was in the First Battalion the Mercian Regiment but retired from the service in 2011.

Friends of Mr Ryding have paid tribute to him on their Facebook sites.

One, Aaron Dunbar, who is also a former soldier, wrote: ‘Absolutely devastated, good friend taken too soon.'” Read more.

Anti-Semitic NFL Player Oday Aboushi Speaks At Radical Muslim Conference Denying Israel’s Right To Exist

By Joe Kaufman, Frontpage Mag – “Oday Aboushi has been touted as being the first Palestinian-American player in the National Football League (NFL), but his radical behavior since being drafted by the New York Jets less than three months ago could get him sent home early. His latest infraction was made as he gave a speech at a radical Muslim conference sponsored by a group denying Israel’s right to exist and associated with blatantly anti-Semitic and terrorist propaganda.

When the New York Jets chose Offensive Lineman Oday Aboushi in the fifth round of the 2013 NFL draft, they did so because of Aboushi’s athletic skills. It seems, though, that his personal life was not a consideration, at least not enough to stop the team from picking him. Problems in the NFL usually revolve around drugs or alcohol abuse or players being bad influences in the locker rooms. Aboushi’s problem is an unusual one for pro sports. He’s a Muslim extremist.

In January, Aboushi posted a photo to his personal Twitter page depicting an old woman looking down while three clearly Orthodox Jews converse with one another in the background. The photo, which is attributed to the anti-Israel publication Middle East Monitor (MEM), was part of a large-scale smear campaign against the Jewish state. The caption over Aboushi’s tweet reads, ’88 year-old Palestinian evicted from home in Jerusalem by Israel authorities to make room 4 Orthodox Jews.’

Aboushi might have gotten the idea to post the propaganda from his relative, Fatina Abuzahrieh, who also grew up in and resides in New York City. In November of last year, Abuzahrieh posted on her Facebook page a shockingly anti-Semitic cartoon portraying an evil looking Orthodox Jew with a huge smile on his face, wearing an Israeli flag across his chest, and an old Palestinian woman looking down, crying, claiming to be ‘thrown out’ of her ‘own home.’

From there, Aboushi’s conduct has continued to get more extreme.

On April 19th, just one week prior to the draft, Aboushi praised a conference sponsored by Islamic Relief (IR), a charity that the Israeli government has labeled a front for Hamas and that has been cited for both receiving and giving huge sums of money to al-Qaeda related groups.

Only weeks after the draft, Aboushi tweeted the following: ‘65th anniversary of the Nakba and palestinians all across the world are still thriving.’ For persons unaware of the term ‘Nakba,’ the statement might seem innocuous, but for those who care about Israel, the term is a very dangerous and provocative one. The Nakba or Catastrophe is a derogatory reference to Israel’s May 1948 founding as an independent Jewish state. It is used to spread enmity against Israel and to fuel terrorist attacks from groups like Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ)…

In a previous article, this author detailed the extremist ties and behavior of football player Oday Aboushi, which resulted in Aboushi removing material from his Facebook site. Yet, to this day, the New York Jets have ignored the actions of their Islamist draft pick, only to see his behavior get worse. So far, the team has appeared to put Aboushi’s athletic ability over his ties to Muslim fanaticism.” Read more.

‘It’s Time To Get Out’: Jewish Life In Europe Is ‘Dying A Slow Death’

What the article fails to fully address, however, is how or why anti-Semitism and violent acts against Jews in Europe have escalated considerably as of late. One of those reasons is the direct result of Muslim immigration and their leftist enablers …

By Raphael Ahren, The Times of Israel – “When Turkey’s Deputy Prime Minister Besir Atalay this week accused the ‘Jewish Diaspora’ of orchestrating anti-government protests in his country, almost the entire Jewish Diaspora was up in arms. Oskar Deutsch, the president of the Vienna community, went so far as to call on the European Union to suspend its accession negotiations with Ankara. But anti-Semitism could also be found last week deep in the European heartland: the editors of Germany’s Süddeutsche Zeitung considered a painting of a ravenous moloch to be the right type of illustration for a story about Israel. Critics pointed out that this might have been a problematic choice, yet the paper initially responded that ‘a hungry monster with horns has nothing to do with anti-Semitic cliches’ (and only later apologized).

Clearly, anti-Semitic tendencies in Europe are alive and kicking. But how widespread, and how grave?

According to one Jerusalem-based researcher, the situation is dire, and he claims to have the numbers to prove it: More than 150 million European adults have anti-Semitic views, he asserts, in that they believe that Israel is waging a war of extermination against the Palestinians. ‘Numerical data from various studies provide evidence that well over 150 million citizens of the European Union embrace a demonic view of Israel,’ Manfred Gerstenfeld, a former chairman of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, writes in his new book, ‘Demonizing Israel and the Jews.’

However high and curiously justified it is, some experts believe the figure might be accurate. Others who contend that Gerstenfeld’s line of argument doesn’t make much sense, scientifically speaking, argue nonetheless that anti-Semitism has become an irreversible trend that will soon make life unbearable for the continent’s remaining Jews. European officials hesitate to comment, though some say they are stunned to hear such a statistic. The EU is currently compiling its first comprehensive study on anti-Semitism, whose preliminary findings show an alarming number of Jews reporting to have been the victims of harassment.

Gerstenfeld, who immigrated to Israel many years ago from the Netherlands, bases his controversial claim mainly on a 2012 study conducted by the University of Bielefeld and published by the German-based Friedrich Ebert Foundation. The study, which surveyed 8,000 people across eight EU member states, found that ‘around 40 percent of respondents in most participating countries affirm the drastic assessment that the Israeli state is conducting a war of extermination against the Palestinians.'” Read more.

Australia: Series Of Upcoming TV Commercials To Portray Islam’s ‘Prophet’ As ‘The Savior Of Humanity’

Isaiah 43:11, “I, even I, am the LORD, And besides Me there is no savior.”

The deception continues. Apparently the Muslim world, confused as it already is, is now seeking to persuade gullible “infidels” into believing that there are not one, but two “saviors of humanity.”  Both, of course, are Muslim. So until the “Mahdi” comes, “Mo” is the man. Just ignore the fact that this “prophet” was such a “sexual superman” that he couldn’t even manage to resist raping a 9-year-old child. Or that he personally beheaded hundreds of Jewish men and then enslaved their women and children. Or that he considered women inferior and intellectually deficient to men. Or that he advocated drinking camel urine as medicine. Most importantly, ignore the fact that, even if you believe him to be the glorious “messenger of Allah” and “savior” of humanity, he still can’t guarantee heaven after you die. Just believe in Mohammed and be saved! From what, however, is another question …

By Joe Kovacs, WND – “At this turbulent time in history when many people are looking for answers to their problems, a brand-new TV campaign calling the Islamic prophet Muhammad the ‘savior of humanity’ is about to saturate the airwaves of Australia.

‘Tens of thousands’ of dollars have reportedly been raised by the Muslim community to fund a series of 30-second commercials to begin airing on the country’s biggest networks starting July 9.

The ads are produced by My Peace, an Australian group looking to build bridges between the Muslim community and other citizens of the land Down Under.

The prime-time spots will air over the course of several months, and feature famous historical figures such as Mahatma Gandhi and George Bernard Shaw praising the virtues of Muhammad.

‘This is a response to misinformation. Not many (Australians) are aware of who the prophet is and why we regard him so highly and so emotionally,’ My Peace founder Diaa Mohamed told the Sydney Daily Telegraph.

‘The commercials will be animated with voiceovers and will have quotes on the screen.

‘Muhammad is the most influential man in history and the commercials will show what scholars and historians have said about him.’

Gandhi said the prophet ‘holds undisputed sway over the hearts of millions’ and Shaw called him the ‘savior of humanity.’

My Peace is even selling tickets for those interested in attending the public premiere of the commercials.

This isn’t the first time the group has aired television ads to promote Islam.

Last year, it launched a campaign titled, ‘I’m Muslim and proud,’ featuring a collage of photos of and audio quotes from individual Muslim ‘sponsors,’ with comments including:

  • ‘I believe in Muhammad.’
  • ‘He was a prophet of God … like Noah, Moses and Jesus.’
  • ‘The same God as Jews and Christians.’
  • ‘The prophet Muhammad shunned racism … and mixed with everyone on equal terms.’
  • ‘The prophet Muhammad believed in the future builds on mutual respect.'”

NASA’s Hubble Telescope Snaps ‘Comet of the Century’ Fireworks

By Tariq Malik, Space.com – “The Comet ISON shines like a cosmic skyrocket in a new video from the Hubble Space Telescope as the icy wanderer, which some astronomers have billed as a potential ‘comet of the century,’ streaks through our solar system at a staggering 48,000 mph.

The new Comet ISON video, which NASA released Tuesday (July 2), is a time-lapse view created from images of the comet obtained using the Hubble telescope on May 8. At the time, the comet was about 403 million miles (648 million kilometers) from Earth and crossing between the orbits of Jupiter and Mars. NASA officials likened the comet’s extreme speed to a skyrocket on the Fourth of July.

‘The movie shows a sequence of Hubble observations taken over a 43-minute span and compresses this into just five seconds,’ NASA officials explained in a video description. ‘The comet travels 34,000 miles in this brief video, or 7 percent of the distance between Earth and the moon. The blue hue of ISON in the new video is actually a false-color view of the comet as it appeared through the Wide Field Camera 3 on the Hubble Space Telescope.

Comet ISON was discovered by amateur astronomers in September 2012 and is headed for a close encounter with the sun in late November of this year.” Read more.
