New Jersey Imam: Free Speech Critical Of Islam A ‘National Security Threat’, First Amendment Should Be Replaced With Sharia Law
If speech critical of Islam is truly a “national security threat” then maybe it’s time to ban Islam, starting with the expulsion of this imam …
By Joe Newby, Examiner – “According to Mohammad Qatanani, Imam of one of the largest mosques in New Jersey, free speech that is critical of Islam poses a national security threat and ‘should be investigated by the Department of Homeland Security,’ The Blaze reported Thursday.
‘We, as Americans, have to put limits and borders [on] freedom of speech,’ he told The Blaze.
‘He explained that while Americans may ‘have the freedom’ to speak their mind, ultimately, they ‘have no right to [talk about Muslim] holy issues’ as it will incite ‘hatred or war among people,” Tiffany Gabbay wrote.
The religious leader also said that speech that denigrates Islam puts Americans at risk both in the United States and abroad. The solution, therefore, is to scrap the First Amendment and replace it with sharia law ‘for the ultimate ‘good’ of society.’
Gabbay noted that Qatanani was ‘nearly deported in 2008 for failing to disclose his former ties to the terrorist organization Hamas on a 1996 Green Card application.’
Stressing the online anti-Islamic video that some claim is behind the riots and protests at U.S. embassies, Qatanani said that Homeland Security needs to prevent artists from producing works that are critical of Islam or the prophet Mohammed.
‘They [Muslims] think our [American] freedoms are too much,’ he said. ‘The freedom of the American people is so different from their [Muslims’] freedoms. We believe freedoms have limits and rules, otherwise we will get people into trouble… Freedom according to Islam must be according to the Quran and Sunnah. You can do [anything] you like within the teachings of these two resources. This is the difference and main reason [for the conflict].’
He also told The Blaze that it is okay, however, for Muslims to mock Jesus or Moses.” Read more.
Condell: A Word To Rioting Muslims (And A Religion Demanding Tolerance And Respect That Doesn’t Know The Meaning Of Either)
Pat Condell: “Well, once again we see multiple violent tantrums from the ‘Religion of Permanent Offense.’ Some thing never change, do they? Once again, we see Islam self-detonate — if you’ll pardon the expression — and show, once again, why it’s about as welcome on this planet as an asteroid. Once again, we see thousands of Islamic nut cases take time out from beating up their wives to show their sensitive side. How? By smashing up the towns they live in egged on by clerical ignoramuses whose motives are even lower than the literacy level of their followers. And, once again, we in the civilized world are being urged to censor ourselves out of respect for a religion that violates the human rights of half the people on the planet and that doubles as a political ideology indistinguishable from Nazism. It would be funny if it wasn’t so obscene. Or should that be the other way around? To call these riots ‘infantile’ and ‘imbecilic’ is to give them a dignity they don’t deserve. They can only be described as ‘Islamic.’
Let me get this straight. We’re suppose to show ‘tolerance’ and ‘respect’ for a religion that doesn’t know the meaning of either word and goes out of its way to prove it every day? We’re suppose to amend our values to accommodate a religion that accommodates nothing and nobody? Dream on, people. It’s not going to happen …” Watch the video below for more.
Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood Demands ‘Firm And Rapid Measures’ From France Against Magazine Mocking Mohammed, Iranians Enraged
Egypt Independent – “Egypt’s influential Muslim Brotherhood demanded Thursday that France act against cartoons mocking the Prophet Mohamed in the same way as against the topless pictures of Prince William’s wife Catherine.
Its political arm, the Freedom and Justice Party, called for ‘firm and rapid measures against the (French) magazine’ Charlie Hebdo which printed cartoons mocking the prophet on Wednesday.
The movement, from which President Mohamed Morsy emerged, pointed out that ‘the French judiciary has taken dissuasive measures against a magazine which published the photographs’ of the former Kate Middleton, the British royal.
French authorities on Tuesday banned the magazine Closer from any further publication or resale of the pictures and launched a criminal investigation into how they were obtained.
The FJP also stressed ‘the tough stand (of French authorities) against those who deny the Holocaust’ in France.
France has been bracing for a backlash following the publication of the Mohamed cartoons — two of which portray the founder of Islam naked — by Charlie Hebdo, a satirical weekly.” Read more.

Pakistan: Military Called In After Thousands Of Protesters ‘Ready To Die’ Riot In Islamabad Against Anti-Mohammed Film
By Khurram Shahzad – “ISLAMABAD — Thousands of protesters angry at a US-made anti-Islam film clashed with police close to Islamabad’s diplomatic enclave on Thursday in chaotic scenes that left at least 50 people injured.
Officers fired tear gas and live rounds as the demonstrators, many armed with wooden clubs, tried to reach the heavily-guarded enclave, home to most Western embassies, including the US, British and French missions.
The government called in the army to protect the area after protesters broke through a barrier of shipping containers set up by police to block a road leading to the enclave.
The crudely made ‘Innocence of Muslims’, produced by US-based extremist Christians, has triggered protests in at least 20 countries since excerpts were posted online, and more than 30 people have been killed in violence linked to the film.
The US State Department on Thursday warned its citizens to avoid travel to Pakistan and Washington has moved to boost security at its diplomatic missions worldwide.
There have been dozens of demonstrations around Pakistan over the past week and at least two people have been killed, but Thursday was the first time protests in the capital had turned violent.
An initial demonstration of around 1,000 swelled to around 5,000 with the arrival of protesters carrying the flags of hardline Islamist groups Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Jamaat-e-Islami and Sipah-e-Sahaba — which is banned by the Pakistan government.
Police fired tear gas and live rounds as the protesters, chanting ‘we are ready to die to safeguard the Prophet’s honour’ and demanding punishment for those who insult Islam, stormed the container barrier.
The firing scattered the crowd, but they returned to pelt officers with stones and breach the cordon, before torching a police post next to the nearby five-star Serena hotel and fighting officers in chaotic scenes.
The luxury hotel, much used by visiting Westerners, came under attack as a few demonstrators managed to enter the car park and damage vehicles, while others picked up tear gas shells fired by police and threw them into the Serena compound.
Doctor Razia Sultana of the Federal Government Services Hospital said at least 44 police and six civilians were hurt in the clashes, with the majority of injuries caused by stones and tear gas shells.
The Islamabad demonstration dispersed in the early evening, around five hours after it started, as government paramilitary helicopters hovered overhead.
Protester Rehan Ahmad explained the crowd’s fury.
‘Islam is often ridiculed by America and the West and blasphemy is committed against our prophet in the name of freedom of expression,’ he told AFP.” Read more.
FUEL: Magazine In France Mocks Mohammed, Riot Police Deployed, French Gov’t To Shut Down Embassies In 20 Countries Friday
Some Muslim leaders will say “peace peace”, but there will be no peace …
By Nicholas Vinocur, Reuters – “PARIS (Reuters) – A French magazine ridiculed the Prophet Mohammad on Wednesday by portraying him naked in cartoons, threatening to fuel the anger of Muslims around the world who are already incensed by a film depiction of him as a lecherous fool.
The drawings in satirical weekly Charlie Hebdo risked exacerbating a crisis that has seen the storming of U.S. and other Western embassies, the killing of the U.S. ambassador to Libya and a deadly suicide bombing in Afghanistan.
Riot police were deployed to protect the magazine’s Paris offices after it hit the news stands with a cover showing an Orthodox Jew pushing the turbaned figure of Mohammad in a wheelchair.
On the inside pages, several caricatures of the Prophet showed him naked. One, entitled ‘Mohammad: a star is born’, depicted a bearded figure crouching over to display his buttocks and genitals.
The French government, which had urged the weekly not to print the cartoons, said it was temporarily shutting down premises including embassies and schools in 20 countries on Friday, when protests sometimes break out after Muslim prayers.
Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Elaraby called the drawings provocative and outrageous but said those who were offended by them should ‘use peaceful means to express their firm rejection’.
Tunisia’s governing Islamist party, Ennahda, condemned the cartoons as an act of ‘aggression’ against Mohammad. It urged Muslims, in responding to it, to avoid falling into a trap designed by ‘suspicious parties to derail the Arab Spring and turn it into a conflict with the West’.
In Lebanon, Salafist cleric Sheikh Nabil Rahim said the incident would raise tensions that were already dangerously high.
‘We will try to keep things managed and peaceful, but these things easily get out of hand. I fear there could more targeting of foreigners, and this is why I wish they would not persist with these provocations,’ he said.” Read more.
France To Ban Anti-US Protests As Film Fallout Spreads – “France has moved to ban any further anti-US demonstrations sparked by the film that has caused deadly protests across the Muslim world and beyond. As many as 150 people have been arrested in Paris after clashes broke out close to the US embassy, three police officers were hurt. France is home to the largest Islamic community in Europe.” Read more.
Thailand: Muslim Protest Leader Warns World It Faces A ‘Sea Of Fire’ If America Fails To Remove Anti-Mohammed Film
The Canadian Press – “Police say 400 people have protested peacefully outside the U.S. Embassy in Bangkok against an anti-Islam video produced in the United States that has sparked demonstrations in many Muslim countries.
About 700 police were on hand Tuesday to maintain order for the demonstration, organized by a group called the International Al Quds Federation of Thailand. The group had called for a peaceful protest on its Facebook page.
Protesters carried signs and banners saying ‘We love Prophet Muhammad’ and ‘Stop insulting our religion,’ and chanted ‘Down with America’ and ‘Down with Israel.’
A protest leader, Sa-id Sulaiman Husseini, said the world could become a ‘sea of fire’ if the American government does not stop the distribution of the film.” Source – Castanet.
India: Thousands Of Muslims Protesting Anti-Mohammed Film Torch Vehicles, Scuffle With Police
NDTV – “Chennai: Some vehicles were set on fire and police resorted to lathicharge on Tuesday to disperse a large number of people belonging to more than 20 Muslim organisations who had gathered to protest against an American movie which allegedly denigrated Islam.
Tension mounted as around 2000 protesters engaged in a scuffle with police on the arterial Anna Salai road and tried to march towards the US Consulate. Some vehicles were also set on fire, police said.
The protest threw traffic out of gear at Anna Salai where many diversions are already in place in view of the ongoing work for the Chennai Metrol Rail.
Meanwhile, the US Consulate, which had closed the visa section on Monday and Tuesday, extended it to Wednesday also, citing a ‘local holiday,’ apparently referring to Vinayaka Chathurthi.
‘The US Consulate in Chennai will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, September 17 and 18, 2012, due to the ongoing demonstrations in the city. The Consulate will also be closed on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, for a local holiday,’ the Consulate posted in on its official website.
The US Consulate also ‘encourages’ its citizens travelling in and around Chennai to exercise caution and monitor local media for security updates, it said.” Read more.
Obama’s Department Of Justice Will Not Confirm If Free Speech Towards Religion Will Remain Legal In America
Recent calls by various leaders throughout the Islamic world to criminalize any and all speech that speaks out against Islam and its prophet make the video below all the more disconcerting. In July of this year, US Congressman Trent Franks posed a very simple and straightforward question to Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez, asking him to confirm that the Obama Administration’s Department of Justice would never “entertain or advance” any proposal criminalizing speech against any religion. Here was his “reply” …
Muslim Leader Calls Upon UN To Impose International Restrictions On Free Speech, Criminalize Insulting Islam For Sake Of ‘World Peace’
Isaiah 48:22, “‘There is no peace,’ says the LORD, ‘for the wicked.'”
By DREW ZAHN – “One of the world’s most influential Muslims is now calling on the United Nations – in light of the YouTube movie blamed for violent protests across the Mideast – to impose international restrictions on free speech, criminalizing any statement that impugns Islam.

The Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Centre ranked bin Bayyah No. 31 on its list of the 500 most influential Muslims in the world for 2011.
In a public declaration issued to several Islamic bodies, including the All Dulles Area Muslim Society, one of the largest Muslim mosques in the D.C. metro area and the U.S., bin Bayyah called upon ‘people of reason and understanding’ to put a legal stop to statements that would offend Muslims and thereby threaten world peace.
‘We ask everyone to ponder the ramifications of provoking the feelings of over one billion people by a small party of people who desires not to seek peace nor fraternity between members of humanity,’ bin Bayyah wrote. ‘This poses a threat to world peace with no tangible benefit realized. Is it not necessary in today’s world for the United Nations to issue a resolution criminalizing the impingement of religious symbols? We request all Read more…

Telephone Terrorism: Louisiana State University Orders Evacuation Over Bomb Threat
I don’t know who is calling in these threats, but after awhile either the authorities or those being threatened may begin to stop taking them seriously enough if they keep proving to be one hoax after another. And I’m afraid that that is when the threat will be real …
Fox News – “Louisiana State University is urging all staff and students to evacuate its campus Monday after a bomb threat was reported.
‘Please evacuate as calmly and quickly as possible,’ a statement read on the school’s website.
Bomb threats were also made last week at the University of Texas at Austin, North Dakota State University at Fargo, and Hiram College in Ohio.
Capt. Doug Cain of the Louisiana State Police told the Associated Press that bomb technicians are on the scene and police are working with departments in other states to determine whether the bomb threats are related.
No specific location for the LSU has been identified and parish 911 had been called, the school said in a press release.
Classes at the school have been canceled, the Houston Chronicle reports.
‘I was in the middle of taking a test and they walked in and told us we had to leave campus,’ Andrew Arceneaux, an LSU student, told The Advocate.
Around 30,000 students and faculty attend LSU.
Traffic getting out of the campus is in a gridlock, as students are sitting in buses at a standstill, The Advocate reports.
LSU System President William Jenkins told the newspaper that he readied the school’s emergency response systems after learning about the bomb threat.
‘We hope it’s a hoax, but we can’t take that chance,’ he said.” Source – Fox News.
