Barack Obama, The Rodney Dangerfield Of The Muslim World
Investors.com – “On his first Mideast trip, President Obama went to Cairo on bended knee and blew kisses to Muslims worldwide. Three years later, that love is unrequited.
Obama entered office refusing to assert American exceptionalism in the Islamic world for fear of offending perpetually offended Muslims. So he launched a charm offensive instead.
But his overtures have been met with a series of embarrassing betrayals by his imaginary friends in the Muslim world. In fact, the more Obama has capitulated to them, the more they have sabotaged his peacekeeping efforts.
Consider that he:
- Pulled out of Iraq only to discover Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki is helping Iran skirt economic sanctions imposed on it because of its nuclear program.
- Repeatedly bowed to Saudi King Abdullah, who in turn embraced Iranian madman and arch U.S. foe Mahmoud Ahmadinejad at last week’s summit of Muslim nations in Mecca.
- Rushed to withdraw from Afghanistan and turn over security to Afghan forces, only to watch them frag U.S. military trainers in wave after wave of treacherous insider attacks.
- Stood aside as Islamists took power in Egypt only to watch the post-Mubarak regime send tanks to the Sinai and threaten 33 years of peace with Israel.
- Sent billions in aid to Pakistan only to see the funds diverted to Islamabad’s cold war with India.
If there’s any doubt the money didn’t buy loyalty, Pakistan also ambushed our troops in cross-border attacks and blocked U.S. access to critical military supply routes into Afghanistan.
The anti-American effrontery — which spans from North Africa to the Arabian Peninsula to Central and South Asia — is a broad repudiation of the president’s post-9/11 strategy. He thought retreating from the war on terror and apologizing for U.S. foreign policy would win the ‘hearts and minds’ of Muslims.

Israel: Egypt In Violation Of 1979 Peace Treaty, Trying To Set Precedent For Future Modifications To Peace Deal
Associated Press – “JERUSALEM – Israeli officials said Tuesday that Egypt is violating the historic 1979 peace treaty between the two countries by deploying tanks in the demilitarized Sinai desert near the Israeli border.
The officials said they have relayed their objections to the Egyptians directly and through American mediators. An Egyptian border official confirmed that his Israeli counterparts had voiced concerns.
Egypt has been building up its military presence in the lawless area since Islamic militants there attacked an army post on Aug. 5 and killed 16 soldiers.
Under the peace accord, Egypt was only allowed to have lightly armed policemen in the zone along the border with Israel. Limited numbers of tanks were permitted only in a zone on the far western side of the peninsula, within 30 miles (50 kilometers) of the Suez Canal.
Israel, which also views the Islamic militants as a threat, agreed last year to exceptions to the treaty allowing Egypt’s military to deploy troops with heavier weaponry into the most sensitive zone of eastern Sinai close to the border.
Egyptian troops moved in after the Aug. 5 attack, backed by armored personnel carriers and attack helicopters, in coordination with the Israelis. However, the Israeli officials alleged that the deployment of heavier M60 battle tanks went further than agreed and violated the accord. The Israelis say they should have been consulted.” Read more.

Assuming this system – presently a little swirl in the open Atlantic – strengthens some, it will be named Isaac.
Before anyone gets alarmed or excited, consider forecasts of the path and intensity of tropical systems this far out have essentially no skill. As our tropical weather specialist Brian McNoldy said earlier: ‘In the 5-7 day period and beyond, weather details become fairly unpredictable.’
If this model defeats the long odds against it and is somehow right, organizers say they’re ready for the possibility of a hurricane Isaac during the convention according to a report from ABC News:
The Republican National Convention, Secret Service and federal, state and local authorities have been planning for a “multitude” of hurricane scenarios for “well over a year,” said Bryan Koon, Florida’s emergency management director. RNC spokesman James Davis would not give details of those plans, saying only that they are “focused completely on having a great convention.”
Since 1852, the Tampa area been hit by 27 hurricanes including 6 during the month of August the ABC News report said.
Colorado State University Tropical Meteorology Project has developed a tool that shows the historic probability of a named storm affecting the region around Tampa is 20 percent in any given season. The odds of a direct hit near Tampa is around 3 percent.
Jeff Masters of wunderground, who wrote a detailed blog post on the risk of a storm hitting Tampa during the convention, says the risk of a highly disruptive the storm that would trigger evacuations during the convention itself is smaller:
‘[H]istory suggests that the odds of a mass evacuation order being given during the 4-day period that the Republican National Convention is in town are probably around 0.2%,’ he wrote.
But if powerful hurricane did strike the Tampa Bay region – either during the convention or some other time – the effects could be devastating.” Read more.

Describing Egypt’s president as the ‘ruling imam’, Abdel Azeem argued that as Mursi may be unable to apply the law of God fully at this point, the nation must overcome political differences and rally behind him.
He added in his Eid speech on Sunday in Alexandria’s Shohadaa Square that Egypt will return to being ruled by Islam and Prophet Mohamed’s Sunnah and not democracy, socialism or nationalism.
The Salafi politician insisted that all forces must unite in order for God’s law to be applied during an era, he described as, ‘of phenomenons’; where tyrants fall and it is useful to follow those who came before us and not those of modern times.
Abdel Azeem asked worshipers to pay special attention to the Muslims of Syria, Burma and Palestine, arguing that those who neglect Muslim affairs are not true Muslims.

Egypt: Islamist President Morsi To Visit Iran August 30th After Invitation Hand Delivered By Iranian VP
Los Angeles Times – “CAIRO — Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi plans to visit Iran this month for an international summit in what would mark the highest level official contact between the two nations in more than 30 years, according to Egypt’s state news agency.
The MENA agency, quoting a source in Morsi’s office, said the newly elected Islamist president is expected to attend the Non-Aligned Movement summit in Tehran on Aug. 30. The decision follows an invitation hand-delivered to Morsi nearly two weeks ago in Cairo by Iranian Vice President Hamid Baghaei.
Official relations between Egypt and Iran — dominant players in the Middle East for generations -– broke off following the Iranian Revolution and Cairo’s 1979 peace treaty with Israel. Iran has been trying to repair the rift, but former Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, a strong U.S. ally who was toppled in an uprising last year, refused to restore full diplomatic ties.
Morsi’s expected trip potentially changes that dynamic and gives Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a public relations bump at a time when Tehran is facing increased international pressure on its nuclear program and over its ties to Syrian President Bashar Assad.

“(ANSAmed) – Porto Empedocle (Sicily), August 17 – An Egyptian man brutally beat his pregnant wife Friday after she took off her veil in an attempt to find relief from the scorching heat.
The woman, a 20-year-old from the town of Porto Empedocle in Sicily’s southern province of Agrigento, was taken to hospital for treatment.
The man, 19 years old, was stopped by police after the incident and charged with assault.
The couple live in Turin for work reasons and had come to Porto Empedocle on vacation, to visit the woman’s parents. According to the woman, whose father is Tunisian, she had asked her husband’s permission to remove the veil because she was having trouble breathing. The husband at first responded by yelling at her, perhaps in hope of intimidating her, she said. These “schools” ought to be ashamed. But when even Germany, the very nation responsible for the memory of one of history’s most evil men, has willingly bowed down to the Father of Lies and chosen to protect the very ideology that inspired Hitler and the final solution, why should we then expect anything different from anybody else?
When the Prophet Daniel wrote in 7:25 that Antichrist would intend to “change” or “make alterations” to times and laws, it is clear in my mind that the “laws” were a direct reference to the desired implementation and subjugation of Sharia Law upon all non-Muslims, regardless of where they lived. But seeking to change the “times” may not have simply been referring to changing Greenwich Mean Time with Mecca Time or replacing the Gregorian calendar of Christianity with the Hijri calendar of Islam. In Scotland, 30 non-Muslim children from the Parkview Primary School recently were required to visit the Bait ur Rehman Ahmadiyya mosque in the Yorkhill district of Glasgow. At the mosque, the children were instructed to recite the shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith which states: ‘There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his messenger.’ Muslims are also demanding that Islamic preachers be sent to every school in Scotland to teach children about Islam, ostensibly in an effort to end negative attitudes about Muslims.
British schools are increasingly dropping the Jewish Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, according to a report entitled, Teaching Emotive and Controversial History, commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills.

In July, police reported an average of five rapes a day in Stockholm. It is the highest figure in five years, Metro writes.A total of 149 rapes was reported to the police in Stockholm in July. …
It is unclear whether there is an actual increase in rapes or if it is because more victims go to the police.
“I hope that the reason for the increase is that we manage to uncover some of the rapes that are normally not reported. We work very actively on securing women’s rights and we work effectively against hate crime,” says Kjell Lindgren, chief information officer of the Stockholm police, to Metro.

‘Horrific’: Five Muslim Men Rape Colorado Woman

By MATT STEINER and RYAN MAYE HANDY – “Colorado Springs police arrested five Iraqi men Tuesday in connection with what they called a ‘rare’ and ‘horrific’ sexual assault on a woman early July 22. The arrests included one man who was a central character in an Army’s sergeant’s memoir of an Iraq deployment.
Sarmad Fadhi Mohammed and Jasim Mohammed Hasin Ramadon were taken into custody on suspicion of sexual assault. Mustafa Sataar Al Feraji, Ali Mohammed Hasan Al Juboori and Yasir Jabbar Jasim were arrested on suspicion of accessory to sexual assault. All are in their 20s.
Lt. Howard Black, who heads the Police Department’s special victim’s unit, said the severity of the attack made it rare in the city, adding that the woman’s injuries could have been life-threatening.
‘We don’t see these types of assaults typically in Colorado Springs,’ he said…
According to police, the victim, a woman who works nights, said she went to check her mail outside the apartment building about 1:30 a.m. and noticed two groups of men about to fight. She tried to intervene and calm the men down.
Afterward, one of the men invited her to his apartment where there were three other men about 20 years old, police said.
The woman told police she talked with the group and drank ‘what she believed to be lemonade.’ She said she didn’t remember anything after that…
Police said all five men had established ‘lawful permanent resident’ status within the past five years but could face deportation if convicted of the crimes.” Read more.
Freshwater Fish In North America Going Extinct At An Alarming Rate
Terra Daily – ” North American freshwater fishes are going extinct at an alarming rate compared with other species, according to an article in the September issue of BioScience. The rate of extinctions increased noticeably after 1950, although it has leveled off in the past decade. The number of extinct species has grown by 25 percent since 1989.
The article, by Noel M. Burkhead of the US Geological Survey, examines North American freshwater fish extinctions from the end of the 19th Century to 2010, when there were 1213 species in the continent, or about 9 percent of the Earth’s freshwater fish diversity.
At least 57 North American species and subspecies, and 3 unique populations, have gone extinct since 1898, about 3.2 percent of the total. Freshwater species generally are known to suffer higher rates of extinction than terrestrial vertebrates.
Extinctions in fishes are mostly caused by loss of habitat and the introduction of nonindigenous species. In North America, there are more freshwater fish species in a typical drainage to the east of the Great Continental Divide than to the west, where a greater proportion of species have gone extinct or are found nowhere else.
Estimating the number of extinctions relies on scrutiny of historical records and careful estimation procedures, since the last populations of a species are often recognized as such only in hindsight-there is typically a lag of several years from the last observation of a species and its estimated year of extinction.
Estimates are complicated by the fact that, on average, 6.7 new species are discovered each year, and occasionally a species thought to have gone extinct is ‘rediscovered.’
Nonetheless, Burkhead concludes that between 53 and 86 species of North American freshwater fishes are likely to have gone extinct by 2050, and that the rate of extinction is now at least 877 times the background extinction rate over geological time.” Source – Terra Daily.
‘Catastrophic’: Butane-Filled Well In Louisiana Could Explode, Releasing As Much Energy As 100 Hiroshima Bombs
By Deborah Dupre -“A possible breach of a butane-filled well 1500 feet from Bayou Corne’s sinkhole, the size of three football fields, is so ‘very serious,’ it has Assumption Parish sheriff and local residents ordered to evacuate worried about a catastrophic explosion, one according to scientists in an Examiner investigation, would be in the range of one and a half B83 thermonuclear (hydrogen) bombs, the most powerful United States weapons in active service.
‘The disaster is made all the more worrisome because the hole is believed to be close to a well containing 1.5 million barrels of liquid butane, a highly volatile liquid that turns into a highly flammable vapor upon release,’ CNN reported Friday about Louisiana’s declared State of Emergency.
Earlier it was reported the butane-filled well is only 1500 feet from the sinkhole and it will not be emptied.
A breach of that well, Assumption Parish Sheriff Mike Waguespack said, could be ‘catastrophic,’ CNN reports.
If ignited, the butane well would release as much explosive energy as 100 Hiroshima bombs, Deborah Dupré’s scientist sources told her Sunday.
Friday, officials went door-to-door in the Bayou Corn area to complete questionnaires, including next of kin contact details of locals at home after the mandatory evacuation orders, as Fox News reported, while ABC reported, ‘If any of the dangers seem to become more imminent,’ the present mandatory order will be ‘escalated to a forced evacuation.’
Some residents of Louisiana’s cultural gumbo of Assumption Parish think dangers are more imminent now, despite state Department of Health & Hospitals Office of Public Health officials’ letter to parish officials about air and water testing data.
‘Based on their testing, it doesn’t appear that chemical exposure of site-related contaminants pose a public health risk in the immediate area of Bayou Corne,’ parish officials said.
Since Saturday, disaster workers are required to wear respirators, although the public within the disaster area is not.
Government cover up continues angering residents and elected leaders
‘You can give us a straight answer because that’s all we want,’ a woman said at the community meeting Tuesday. ‘We want to know when we can come home and be safe.
