Obama makes no mention of giving thanks to, let alone acknowledge, the God of Jews and Christians during Thanksgiving, yet had no problem revering Muslim’s devotion to “God” during Ramadan, had no problem praising Islam’s so-called role in “advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings” and had no problem rewriting history in stating how Islam “has always been a part of America”, ignoring the fact that the few who eventually came to America of their own free will came precisely because of the undeniable reality that predominantly Muslim countries were anything but just, progressive, tolerant or respectful of human life.  It must really get under his thin skin that the vast, overwhelming majority of America’s pilgrims were Christian …

By Todd Starnes – “President Obama did not include any reference to God during his weekly address titled, ‘On Thanksgiving, Grateful for the Men and Women Who Defend Our Country.’

His remarks were void of any religious references although Thanksgiving is a holiday traditionally steeped in giving thanks and praise to God.

The president said his family was ‘reflecting on how truly lucky we truly are.’

For many Americans, though, Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on how blessed and thankful they are.

The president said the ‘most American of blessings’ is the ‘chance to determine our own destiny.’

He called the very first Thanksgiving a ‘celebration of community’.

‘We’re also grateful for the Americans who are taking time out of their holiday to serve in soup kitchens and shelters, making sure their neighbors have a hot meal and a place to stay,’ he said. ‘This sense of mutual responsibility – the idea that I am my brother’s keeper; that I am my sister’s keeper – has always been a part of what makes our country special.’

The president said that belief is ‘one of the reasons the Thanksgiving tradition has endured.’

But nowhere in the 11-paragraph address does he mention the Almighty.

Instead, he references the Civil War, two World Wars, and the Great Depression – noting that ‘Americans drew strength from each other.’

However, President Abraham Lincoln said the nation drew its strength from God. He declared as much in his 1863 Thanksgiving Day proclamation:

‘I do therefore invite my fellow citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are at sea and those who are sojourning in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next, as a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the Heavens. And I recommend to them that while offering up the ascriptions justly due to Him for such singular deliverances and blessings, they do also, with humble penitence for our national perverseness and disobedience, commend to his tender care all those who have become widows, orphans, mourners or sufferers in the lamentable civil strife in which we are unavoidably engaged, and fervently implore the interposition of the Almighty Hand to heal the wounds of the nation and to restore it as soon as may be consistent with the Divine purposes to the full enjoyment of peace, harmony, tranquility and Union.’

President Obama told the nation in his address that if they support each other and look out for each other, ‘and remember that we’re all in this together, then I know that we too will overcome the challenges of our time.'” Read more.

Meh, though I’d love to see him step aside and into the annals of history, I doubt that someone as proud as Obama has the strength and mental capacity to humble himself enough to allow someone else to run.  If, by some sheer miracle, he did it would certainly give the Democrats a fighting chance in 2012.  What America needs right now however is a true, strong conservative who knows how to get the country out of the hole that was and is Barack Obama.  And I seriously doubt there is any Democrat who even comes close to fitting that bill …

Then I found out that the 22nd amendment… the one that only allows a president two elected terms… says NOTHING about putting a president in to be a place holder until the next election.

In other words, it is possible under our Constitution and the Amendments for Bill to finish out the last year of Obama’s term.” Read more.

Democratic pollsters – President Obama ‘should step aside and let Hillary Clinton run for president’ – “Barack Obama should make way for Hillary Clinton to run for president next year, two top Democratic pollsters claimed today. Despite the Secretary of State’s insistence that she has no plans to try again, her supporters claim she would now be the clear choice to unite the party and be a more effective leader. Writing in today’s Wall Street Journal, Doug Schoen, a former Bill Clinton aide, and Pat Caddell, who worked for Jimmy Carter, claimed there were precedents for Mr Obama stepping down after one term in the White House. Both Harry Truman and Lyndon Johnson both decided not to run again. ‘He should abandon his candidacy for re-election in favor of a clear alternative, one capable not only of saving the Democratic Party, but more important, of governing effectively…” Read more.

By Ben Howe – “Late Thursday night, American company Hawker Beechcraft was informed by the U.S. Air Force that they were not going to be allowed to compete for an American military aircraft contract.

The Air Force has notified Hawker Beechcraft Corp. that its Beechcraft AT-6 has been excluded from competition to build a light attack aircraft, a contract worth nearly $1 billion, the company said.

The company had been working with the Air Force for two years and spent over $100 million to ensure compliance with the requirements for the plane and says the craft (Beechcraft AT-6) met all requirements as shown through a demonstration actually led by the Air National Guard.

“We have followed the Air Force’s guidance close, and based on what we have seen, we continue to believe that we submitted the most capable, affordable and sustainable light attack aircraft,” the company said.

Keep in mind, this doesn’t appear to be a question of being outbid or outclassed. In fact, this seems to be a classic example of a contract being awarded without any bidding process at all, something you may remember infuriated the left when the recipient of the contract was American company Haliburton.

There’s a big difference this time. The company the no-bid contract went to isn’t an American company. Worse yet, the company it did go to has questionable friends. Namely, Iran.

Embraer, a Brazilian aerospace giant which is currently under investigation for potentially making illegal payments to obtain government contracts, is essentially owned by the Brazilian government. Through their “Golden Share,” Brazil essentially has control over the company’s business operations.

According to Embraer’s website, that Golden Share provision empowers the Brazilian government with veto rights over: “Creation and/or alteration of military programs, whether or not involving the Federative Republic of Brazil;” “Development of third parties´ skills in technology for military programs;” and “Interruption of the supply of maintenance and replacement parts for military aircraft,” among other things.

But Brazil has their own explaining to do regarding their long and sordid history with the rogue country of Iran.

According to the Council on Hemispheric Affairs, “In 1989, Brazil chose to sell Tucanos, Embraer’s relatively low cost and basic military aircraft, to Iran.” Currently, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Air Force operates around 40 Embraer T-27 Tucanos, according to the Washington Institute. In fact, the Iranians use the Tucano as their primary close air support aircraft.

In recent years, Brazil has continued its troubling friendship with Iran and ruthless leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The Hudson Institute notes that, “Another area of tension between Brazil and the United States relates to Iran. In November 2009, President da Silva invited Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Brazil. In May 2010, da Silva helped broker a deal in which Iran would ship only a portion of its low-enriched uranium to Turkey for reprocessing; the rest would remain in Iranian hands, where it could be further enriched for nuclear weapon production.”

If you’ve been around Christian music for awhile, you have no doubt heard the name Carman. Carman has performed many concerts in the St. Louis area at venues such as Grace Church St. Louis, the Checkerdome and other St. Louis area concert venues. Carman was in the passenger seat when the driver make a left into the church parking lot in front of a crowd of fans waiting to get into a concert.. A truck from oncoming traffic struck Carmans side at 50 MPH. The vehicle Carman was riding in was destroyed and the driver from the oncoming truck was life-flighted to the closest Hospital with brain injury’s. Carman was able to walk into the church attempting to continue with the scheduled concert but collapsed soon after. He was taken to Liberty Hospital in Liberty Texas just outside of Houston. where he was examined and ex rayed. No broken bones or spinal injurys where found. However there are other internal injury’s that require surgery. Carman will be transported back home on Monday to undergo surgery Tuesday morning. Carman wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, support and thoughtful postings on facebook. “They are very, very encouraging at a time like this.” We will keep you posted as we know more.

While fans are praying for Carman, please also keep in mind the driver of the truck who has suffered brain injuries. Many Christians believe in the healing power of God – A message Carman, himself, would agree with you in prayer about. Take this time to lift up your prayers for Carman’s upcoming surgeries and healing for others involved. Also, consider prayers for financial needs being met and patience for everyone involved as accidents also mean dealing with insurance companies, repairs, and other stressful and costly events ahead.” Source – St. Louis Christian Music Examiner.
