Survey Finds Anti-Semitic Attitudes Rising in America

“MYFOXNY.COM – Swastikas were found painted on the facades of the Jackson Heights and East Elmhurst branches of the Queens Library and on the door of Congregation Tifereth Israel on Thursday.

The Anti-Defamation League today condemned the anti-Semitic graffiti. The ADL says there were 133 anti-Jewish incidents reported across New York City in 2010.

A nationwide ADL survey released just yesterday found that anti-Semitic attitudes have risen in America.

The ADL survey found that 15 percent of Americans – nearly 35 million adults – hold deeply anti-Semitic views. That’s up three percent from 2009.

‘The fact that anti-Semitic attitudes have increased significantly over the past two years is troubling and raises questions about the impact of broader trends in America – financial insecurity, social uncertainty, the decline in civility and the growth of polarization – on attitudes toward Jews,’ said Abraham H. Foxman, ADL National Director.” Read more.

Missouri: Pro-Israel Arab Gets Star of David Carved in His Back by Members of the Muslim Community – “About a year ago, I posted an Arabic language poem titled ‘Tears at the Heart of the Holocaust’ on my website, ArabsForIsrael.com. The poem expressed its Arab author’s love for the Jewish people and his mourning over what happened to them in the Holocaust. The brave poet, Mr. Alaa Alsaegh, is an immigrant to the US from Iraq, who now lives in Missouri. Such poems did not sit well with the Muslim community, which caused Mr. Alsaegh to be alienated from it. He received threats because of his support for the Jewish people, was called an infidel and a traitor to Islam, but he continued with his writing of poems and did not take the threats too seriously. Mr. Alsaegh, as well as Muslim critics and former Muslims who are accused of apostasy, are living under threats, but, lo and behold, if we dare to speak about our fears, we are immediately silenced and accused of being Islamophobes.” Read more.

By Todd Starnes – “Republican lawmakers and conservative activists are expressing outrage after the Obama administration announced its objection to adding President Franklin Roosevelt’s D-Day prayer to the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

The objection was noted during a congressional hearing on Rep. Bill Johnson’s, R-Ohio, bill — the ‘World War II Memorial Prayer Act of 2011.’

‘It is unconscionable that the Obama administration would stand in the way of honoring our nation’s distinguished World War II veterans,’ Johnson said. ‘President Roosevelt’s prayer gave solace, comfort and strength to our nation and our brave warriors as we fought against tyranny and oppression.’

Roosevelt asked the nation to join him in prayer as U.S. and allied troops launched the invasion that led to the defeat of Nazi Germany. He asked God to give the allied troops courage and faith, saying, ‘With thy blessing we shall prevail over the unholy forces of our enemy.’ …

Johnson told Fox News that the administration’s objection should ‘give all Americans a great deal of concern.’…

Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council said it’s not all that surprising.

‘This is further evidence that the administration has created an environment that is hostile towards American history — but in particular towards Christianity,’ Perkins told Fox News. ‘I hope America wakes up and realizes what this administration is doing to this country and how they want to radically and fundamentally change America.'” Read more.

Land of the Free: Christian Call to Prayer in Dearborn Riles Muslims, Local Mosques Warned to Step Up Security

For some reason, CAIR seems to be under the distinct impression that Christians will behave like Muslims after an evening of prayers …

By Oralandar Brand-Williams and Shawn D. Lewis – “Dearborn — The local head of a national Muslim civil rights group says a Christian prayer summit to be held at Ford Field next week promotes anti-Muslim sentiment and is warning local mosques to step up their security.

Dawud Walid, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations — Michigan, met Wednesday with Muslim activists to voice his concern over the rhetoric he fears could be at the center of the event Nov. 11.

‘There’s a bigger force or movement behind this prayer summit and how they’re literally demonizing Muslims,’ he said.

But Metro Detroit pastors involved in the event say the gathering is merely meant to help Detroit, not target Muslims.

‘I don’t know anything about that,’ said Bishop Edgar Vann of Second Ebenezer Church. ‘People are coming here to pray for our city and that’s what I’m concerned about. Christians will be praying, but it’s open to anyone.’

The Call is being promoted as a 24-hour long prayer event aimed at lifting the city out of its ‘greatest darkness.’ Its website says attendees will ‘gather to this city that has become a microcosm of our national crisis — economic collapse, racial tension, the rising tide of the Islamic movement, and the shedding of innocent blood of our children in the streets and our unborn.’

Senior pastor Jerry Weinzierl of Grace Christian Church in Sterling Heights said the event is not anti-Muslim.’It’s not to pray against anybody,’ he said. ‘It is a very positive movement of Christians gathering together to pray.’

Walid advised the heads of local mosques to ‘maintain security at all entrances, and make sure to notify the police immediately if suspicious persons congregate on mosque property.'” Source – The Detroit News.

Global March to Jerusalem: Million Man Worldwide ‘Caravan’ Organize March to ‘Liberate’ Jerusalem and ‘All of Palestine’

Could this be laying any sort of groundwork to somehow portend to the ‘man of sin’ standing in the ‘holy place’?  If the organizers of this effort are successful in achieving even 10% of their ‘million man’ goal, the notion of a ‘peaceful’ march over into ‘Palestine’ and towards Jerusalem will be anything but peaceful and could induce an even greater number of like-minded ‘activists’ into joining the cause. If that were to happen this time, Jacob could be in for a bit of trouble up ahead …

By David Lev – “Israeli security officials are keeping a wary eye out on several groups that are planning mass marches on Jerusalem. One march is scheduled for November 25, and is being organized by the group that tried to conduct a mass march to Jerusalem last September.

This time, however, organizers – and Israeli security officials – believe that the group may attract larger numbers. The group is set out from three locations – Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon – on November 25, with the objective of reaching Jerusalem on November 29, the anniversary of the adoption of the UN partition plan for Mandatory Palestine. Officials said that the group was encouraged by the recent attempt – and temporary success – of Syrian Druze who ‘invaded’ the Golan Heights for several hours, tearing down a border fence to enter the country. Several sources claimed that some of the Syrian Druze were able to enter the interior of Israel, with several claiming to have reached Tel Aviv.

But even more worrisome is another march is scheduled for March 2012, Israeli officials said. That march is being organized by Indian activist Feroze Mithiborwala, who said in a recent press conference in Pakistan that the march will unite people from all over the world, and of all faiths – including Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Sikhs and Jews – ‘to participate in the march towards the Jerusalem and liberate it from the Zionists.’ The march would be in the form of a ‘caravan’ which would start from three directions – Asia, Europe, and Africa, originating in India, Turkey and Morocco respectively. The caravans would stop in all the countries on the way and pick up more participants. The objective is to gather hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people at the borders of Israel who would simply push their way through, reaching Jerusalem and ‘liberating’ it.” Read more.

UNESCO Granted Palestine Full Membership Even As PA Fell Woefully Short of UNESCO’s Own Basic Education Standards

How can we expect any better from a culture that glorifies death? …

By Roni Shaked – “UNESCO decided to grant the Palestinian Authority full membership despite the fact that it does not meet the basic educational requirements outlined in the organization’s codex, Yedioth Ahronoth reported Wednesday.

The United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization has clear prerequisites which every nation must meet before it is accepted into its ranks, such as: Do its textbooks recognize certain nations and religions, do they include anti-Semitic or racist references etc. The PA, it seems, is not exactly up to par.

A study by the Institute for Monitoring Peace and Cultural Tolerance in School Education (IMPACT-SE) found that Palestinian textbooks are far from meeting the requirements.

The report, which examined 117 Palestinian textbooks, was commissioned before the Palestinians filed their UNESCO application.

The report stresses the fact the Palestinian textbooks and maps are largely devoid of any reference to Israel, geographic or otherwise.

IMPACT-SE also found that many of the Palestinian schoolbooks glorify jihad (‘holy war’), death and acts of violence, predominantly against Jews.

‘Presenting Israel as the ‘ultimate evil,’ preaching violence and war and omitting any reference to peaceful collaborations does not coincide with UNESCO’s principles,’ Dr. Eldad Pardo of the Hebrew University, who heads IMPACT-SE, said.” Read more.

“We just want to get Israeli’s. I want to kill them” – The manipulation of innocents is nothing new for Hamas and its ilk. Each summer, Hamas, along with fellow terrorist groups Islamic Jihad and the Al-Aqsa Martyr’s Brigade, operates camps that indoctrinate scores of Palestinian children in the ways of jihad and Jew-hatred. The campers, some of whom are as young as 8 and 9 years old, are taught military tactics as well as the finer points of suicide attacks. The PA also militarizes Palestinian children through government-run television programming. In one fictitious music video that has run continually over the past few years on PA TV, a young Palestinian boy is shown heading to ‘shahada,’ or martyrdom. Scenes of his death are accompanied by selections from his suicide letter, such as, ‘How sweet is shahada…be joyous over my blood, and do not cry for me.’ Other PA music videos show children defacing Jewish symbols, such as the Menorah, and throwing stones at Israeli soldiers while chanting, ‘You will not be saved, oh Zionist.’ This widespread indoctrination of young Muslims calls to mind an Arabic saying, Al-ilm fi al-sghirar kanaqshi fi al-hajar. Translated into English, it means, ‘An education in one’s youth is like engraving into a stone.'” Read more.

‘Allahu Akbar!’: UNESCO Votes to Grant Full Membership to Palestinians, Bolton: US Statutes Now Require Full Cutoff of US Funding for Agency

Is this the beginning of the end? The UN cultural body UNESCO votes to grant full membership to the ‘culture of death‘.  This is one additional step towards full UN state membership of ‘Palestine’ and the planned division of the land of Israel by the Muslim world for the glory of Islam …

Daniel 11:39, “Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge [and] increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall divide the land for gain.”

Zechariah 12:13, “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.”

“The acceptance of the Palestinian mission into the U.N.’s cultural and educational agency could result in backlash from Washington, which is required by law to cut off funding to the agency if a Palestinian Liberation Organization is granted membership in any group at the international body.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization voted 107-14 with 52 abstentions on Monday granting Palestinians full membership in the organization. The U.S. voted against the nomination. Eighty-one votes of the 173 UNESCO members were needed for full membership to be approved.

‘Long Live Palestine!’ one delegate reportedly shouted in French at the meeting.

The U.S. funds about 22 percent of UNESCO’s budget, or roughly $80 million annually.

The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment, though U.S. ambassador to UNESCO David Killion reportedly said the vote will ‘complicate’ U.S. efforts to support the group.

Former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton said the vote signals weakness in U.S. diplomacy.

‘So ineffective was Obama administration diplomacy, that France voted in favor of Palestinian membership, and Britain and Japan abstained. U.S. statutes, dating from 1990, now require a full cutoff of U.S. funding, which Congress should insist occur immediately. Should the administration seek changes in the applicable statutory provisions that would eliminate or weaken the funding cutoff, Congress should reject them,’ Bolton said.

‘UNESCO has made its decision: it prefers Palestinian membership to American participation. Now let the rest of the U.N. specialized agencies make their choice,’ he added.

An aide to House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairwoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said the congresswoman supports full enforcement of the law, without exception.” Read more.

Family Radio Founder Harold Camping Repents, Apologizes for False Teachings

Luke 17:3, “… If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.”

By Nicola Menzie – “With his speech sounding somewhat slurred and labored, Family Radio Stations Inc. founder and chairman Harold Camping sought to address in a recent message why Christ failed to return on Oct. 21 as the Bible teacher had predicted. Camping confessed, after decades of falsely misleading his followers, that he was wrong and regrets his misdeeds.

In addition to attempting to correct his erroneous teachings on the Rapture and God’s day of final judgment on the world, Camping, 90, also confessed, ‘incidentally,’ that he was wrong to claim that God had stopped saving people after May 21 – the date which God’s so-called “spiritual” judgment had begun.

This is undoubtedly a radical shift for Camping, who has staunchly claimed since 1992 that he had discovered a special numerical system in the Bible that allowed him to calculate the exact dates of certain events, such as the Great Flood, the Crucifixion and the day of Jesus Christ’s return to Earth.

Camping first falsely predicted that the world would end on Sept. 6, 1994, then again on May 21, 2011, and finally on Oct. 21.

When Camping’s final doomsday predication failed to come to pass, Family Radio soon removed its teachings regarding the failed May 21 rapture, which also included the claim that God had stopped saving people after that date and that the world was headed for a final judgment on Oct. 21.” Read more.

Newt Gingrich Warns Of ‘Anti-Christian Spring’, ‘I Think People Should Actually be Taking This Pretty Soberly’

Finally, someone who truly gets it and isn’t afraid to say it.  Newt Gingrich may not be perfect, but he’d be a 100% improvement over the current occupant of the Oval Office …

“(NewsCore) – Charges of anti-Muslim discrimination at Catholic University in Washington, D.C., have presidential candidate and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich up in arms.

‘I look at the things that are going on in this country that make no sense to me,’ he said to a crowd of about 250 South Carolinians gathered Saturday at a pig roast fundraiser organized by the Myrtle Beach Tea Party. ‘We now have a lawsuit apparently by some Muslim students at Catholic University who are offended being at a Catholic university. Now my first answer to them is, ‘Fine, don’t go to a Catholic university.”

His comments drew applause. Gingrich was referring to allegations that Catholic University of America is illegally discriminating against Muslim students by ‘denying them access to benefits that other student groups enjoy,’ and, in particular, not providing space for daily prayers so that they have to pray in classrooms or campus chapels where they are surrounded by Catholic symbols. The charges are currently being reviewed by the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights.

Gingrich challenged the ‘people who filed the lawsuit,’ asking rhetorically, ‘Are you prepared to sponsor a Christian missionary in Mecca? Because if you’re not prepared to sponsor religious liberty in Saudi Arabia, don’t come and nag us with some hypocritical baloney. So I think we need to be prepared to stand firm for genuine religious liberty, not for something that’s anti-Christian.’

Gingrich brought up the story after being asked a question from the audience on the persecution of Coptic Christians in the Middle East, which he related to what he sees as a global picture of anti-Christian sentiment.

Gingrich answered, ‘What I would do is I would actively try to defend religious liberty across the planet, including in Egypt, in Iraq. Look, the number of Christians left in Iraq dropped from 1,200,000 to 500,000 after we liberated the country.’

He blasted US strategy in the Middle East as a ‘totally grotesque area.’

‘People say, well isn’t this great, we’re having an Arab Spring. Well I don’t know, I think we may in fact be having an anti-Christian spring,’ Gingrich said. ‘I think people should actually be taking this pretty soberly.'” Source – My Fox Phoenix.

Buying Time: Euro Zone Strikes Deal on Second Greek Package, Serious Questions Remain

“Euro zone leaders struck a last-minute deal on Thursday to contain the currency bloc’s two-year-old debt crisis but are now under pressure to finalise the details of their plan to slash Greece’s debt burden and strengthen their rescue fund.

After a summit in Brussels, governments announced an agreement under which private banks and insurers would accept 50 percent losses on their Greek debt holdings in the latest bid to cut Athens’ 360 billion euro (317 billion pound) debt load to sustainable levels.

Economists polled by Reuters on Thursday were split down the middle over whether the writedown was big enough, with 24 of 47 saying it wasn’t and the remainder saying it was.” Read more.

Germany: Collapse of euro could end half a century of peace in Europe – “Angela Merkel, the German Chancellor, has warned that failing to resolve the eurozone crisis could jeopardise the single currency and end ‘half a century’ of peace in Europe. As European leaders struggled to reach a deal over a bail-out package, Mrs Merkel said “the world is watching” and that “if the euro collapses, then Europe collapses”. Silvio Berlusconi, the Italian prime minister, was said to have offered to resign in January in exchange for the support of his coalition partners in raising the Italian retirement age. Bank of England governor Mervyn King says euro fix is just buying time – “The Bank of England yesterday dismissed chaotic efforts to save the eurozone from financial meltdown as a temporary solution to the region’s woes. Governor Sir Mervyn King said long-term issues such as towering levels of debt and structurally weak economies still needed to be tackled. ‘The aim of the measures to be introduced over the next few days is to create a year or possibly two years’ breathing space,’ he said.” Read more.

Arizona: Formal Law-Enforcement Investigation Into Barack Obama’s Presidential Elegibility Expected To Be A ‘Shock’

By Jerome R. Corsi – “The results of a formal law-enforcement investigation into whether Barack Obama is eligible to be president of the United States could come as a “shock,” according to Maricopa County, Ariz., Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

Tuesday night, speaking to a tea-party group in Arizona, Arpaio said, ‘I can’t tell you everything, but there could be a shock there somewhere that my guys came up with. I can’t talk too much about it. It’s in the process.’

WND previously has reported that Arpaio has constituted a special five-member law enforcement posse to investigate allegations brought by members of the Surprise, Ariz., Tea Party that the birth certificate released to the public April 27 might be a forgery.

The posse, assembled under the authority of Arpaio’s office, consists of three former law enforcement officers and two retired attorneys with law enforcement experience. Members have been examining evidence since September concerning Obama’s eligibility to be president under Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution, which requires a president to be a natural-born citizen.

He referenced disputes over the Social Security number attributed to the president and said, ‘There are a couple of things you and nobody else here knows anything about yet that could be a little bit exciting.’

‘The investigation into Obama’s eligibility to be president is proceeding as planned,’ Arpaio later told WND. ‘I expect to have the investigation completed early next year.'” Read more.

Muslims Say Crosses at Catholic University Violates Their ‘Human Rights’

Here is what’s truly ‘inappropriate’ and a violation of ‘human rights’: It’s when Muslim students decide to attend a Catholic university and then impose Islamic ideals on others in an effort to deny the civil liberties and human rights of everyone else.  If you want to pray, find another location — or university — that doesn’t offend you.  There’s a few in Saudi Arabia and Pakistan that will suit you just fine …

“The Washington, D.C. Office of Human Rights confirmed that it is investigating allegations that Catholic University violated the human rights of Muslim students by not allowing them to form a Muslim student group and by not providing them rooms without Christian symbols for their daily prayers.

The investigation alleges that Muslim students ‘must perform their prayers surrounded by symbols of Catholicism – e.g., a wooden crucifix, paintings of Jesus, pictures of priests and theologians which many Muslim students find inappropriate.’

A spokesperson for the Office of Human Rights told Fox News they had received a 60-page complaint against the private university. The investigation, they said, could take as long a six months.

The complaint was filed by John Banzhaf, an attorney and professor at George Washington University Law School. Banzhaf has been involved in previous litigation against the school involving the same-sex residence halls. He also alleged in his complaint involving Muslim students that women at the university were being discriminated against. You can read more on those allegations by clicking here.

Banzhaf said some Muslim students were particularly offended because they had to meditate in the school’s chapels ‘and at the cathedral that looms over the entire campus – the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.’

‘It shouldn’t be too difficult somewhere on the campus for the university to set aside a small room where Muslims can pray without having to stare up and be looked down upon by a cross of Jesus,’ he told Fox News.

A spokesman for Catholic University said they have not been served a copy of the complaint and would withhold comment until they had received and reviewed the documents.

In a 2010 interview with National Public Radio, university president John Garvey acknowledged that they don’t set aside prayer rooms for Muslim students.” Read more.

Jerusalem Sends Earthquake Relief as Turkey Keeps Up Tough Rhetoric Against Israel

I’m not the least bit surprised.  Israel is indeed a beacon of light surrounded by a sea of darkness.  If Islamic nations mirrored Israel’s example, there could be peace in the Middle East the very next day …

By HERB KEINON – “The first of what is expected to be several civilian planes full of Israeli earthquake relief aid set off for Turkey on Wednesday, even as Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu kept up his tough rhetoric against Israel.

The 747 plane chartered by the Defense Ministry carried seven prefabricated homes that have all the necessary electric wiring and can be lived in immediately by people who lost their homes in Sunday’s earthquake that devastated the eastern province of Van and killed more than 460 people. The plane, which will land in Ankara, is also carrying warm clothes, blankets and mattresses.

A Defense Ministry official said that one, and possibly two more planes will be sent on Thursday. The official said the ministry chartered a civilian plane not because of a Turkish ban on IDF planes flying over Turkey, but rather because the 747 could carry more than an IDF transport plane.

But even as the plane was being loaded, Davutoglu – on a visit to Jordan –called for forceful pressure on Israel, saying that only such pressure would force Jerusalem into giving up on a number of principles and making it easier to establish a Palestinian state.

‘We believe that if we will press hard enough on Israel, we will bring it to a situation where it will be convinced that it needs to carry out its part of moving the diplomatic process forward and establishing a Palestinian state,’ Israel Radio quoted Davutoglu as saying.

His words, meanwhile, did not surprise officials in Jerusalem who had low expectations that the humanitarian aid would significantly improve the badly strained relationship with Ankara.” Read more.
