Arizona: Giant Dust Storm Again Moves Through Phoenix Area
PHOENIX (AP) — A giant wall of dust rolled through the Phoenix area on Monday, turning the sky brown, creating dangerous driving conditions and delaying some airline flights.
The dust, also known as a haboob in Arabic and around Arizona, formed in Pinal County and headed northeast, reaching Phoenix at about 5:30 p.m.
The dust wall was about 3,000 feet high and created winds of 25 to 30 mph, with gusts of up to 40 mph, said Austin Jamison, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. Visibility was down to less than a quarter-mile in some areas, he said.
‘You have suddenly very poor visibilities that come on with all the dense dust in the air,’ he said. ‘With poor visibilities, that makes for dangerous driving conditions and that’s arguably the biggest impact.'” Read more.

The Conference: Elenin was hosted by Kerry Cassidy and featured five presenters who discussed their research data and insights on Comet Elenin. Richard Hoagland, Dr Joseph Farrell, Keith Hunter, Dr Carl Johan Calleman, and Andy Lloyd. Hoagland began the conference with a succinct presentation on the significance of Elenin’s orbit, and why this pointed to it being either an artificial object under intelligent control (an ancient spacecraft) or a natural body (a comet) that has been deliberately launched on an artificial orbit. Then why, according to their own data, have they ‘observed’ Comet Elenin 2,181 times in less than 7 months while similar data for Comet Levy shows a mere 324 observations in more than 4 and a half years? In fact, no other Near Earth Object covered by NASA has been observed any where near the number of observations given to Elenin without an object size given. What is it that NASA is so interested in, if Elenin is only a ‘normal’ Comet? Additionally, why is it that NASA is still not giving us an exact size of Ele??? Update July 12, 2011: Canada boycotts UN body over North Korea Appointment – “Canada is boycotting a UN body dedicated to disarmament to protest against North Korea being named its chair, Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird announced Monday.
The Conference on Disarmament, where UN members negotiate disarmament and other arms control agreements, is heavily focused on the prevention of a nuclear arms race and nuclear disarmament.
‘North Korea is simply not a credible chair at this United Nations body. The regime is a major proliferator of nuclear weapons and its non-compliance with its disarmament obligations goes against the fundamental principle of this committee,’ Baird said during a call with media to make the announcement.
‘North Korea’s chairmanship undermines the integrity of both the disarmament framework and of the United Nations, and Canada simply will not support that.'” Read more.

North Korea assumes the Conference chairmanship by being the next state in the alphabetical rotation of the 65 members, which include five nuclear weapons states and 60 other countries such as Iran and Syria. North Korea will preside over the Conference for a four working-week period.” Read more.
North Korea threatens a ‘sacred war’ on neighbor – “North Korea threatened yesterday to launch ‘a retaliatory sacred war’ against South Korea for alleged slander as the two sides held rare talks on a stalled joint tourism project. A Pyongyang government spokesman accused the South Korean frontline army units of displaying slogans slandering the North’s ‘army, system and dignity’ and said they are ‘little short of a clear declaration of war.'” Read more.
North Korea-Iran Nuclear Cooperation – “The release of U.S. diplomatic cables by WikiLeaks and North Korea’s revelations about its uranium enrichment program have raised concerns about North Korea’s proliferation activities, especially to Iran. ‘Most illicit nuclear programs depend very heavily on procurement networks, and North Korea has invested heavily in these supply networks,’ says Jeffrey Lewis, director of the East Asia nonproliferation program at James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies.” Read more.
Canada Rejects Palestinian Statehood Bid at UN
Canada again reiterates its support of Israel. Viva la Canada!
“Canada is rejecting a Palestinian effort to win recognition at the United Nations as an independent state.
The move is not surprising given that the Harper government has forcefully highlighted its loyalty to Israel and the United States. Both oppose the Palestinian initiative.
The Palestinian Authority, which controls most of the West Bank, launched a campaign last month that will see it pursue a vote on statehood at the United Nations General Assembly in September — an effort borne out of its frustration over a peace process that is stalled.
The top Palestinian diplomat in Canada says her official delegation will still push hard for the support of Ottawa.
‘On the conflict, we would like to see the Canadian government taking a neutral stand, supporting the creation of the state of Palestine, supporting the recognition of Palestine as a full member state in the UN in September,’ Linda Sobeh Ali, head of the Palestinian delegation, told The Canadian Press.
Sobeh Ali also said her delegation is pushing Canada to recognize Israel’s pre-1967 borders — something Prime Minister Stephen Harper forcefully opposed, and managed to block from being part of the final communique of G8 leaders at their recent May summit in France.” Read more.
Italy: Mount Etna Eruption Closes Airports and ‘Knocks Clocks 15 Minutes Fast’
Bizarre. If all the clocks were 15 minutes fast, how did employers know that everyone was showing up early?
“An eruption by Mount Etna on the Italian island of Sicily left a nearby airport closed and … locals turning up early for work.
The volcano spewed lava on to its south-eastern slopes on Saturday afternoon and winds swept ash further afield, stopping flights at Catania’s Fontanarossa airport.
The strong eruption – Etna’s fifth since the beginning of the year – was shortlived, but left the airport closed overnight.
Bemused Sicilians, meanwhile, were quick to blame the volcano after thousands noticed that their clocks were running 15 minutes fast. The fast forward time keeping has affected a wide spectrum of digital clocks and watches – from computers through to alarm clocks.
It was spotted when large numbers of locals started turning up for work early, and a Facebook page was organised for those involved to compare notes.” Read more.

Update July 7th, 2011: U.S. admits it was a mistake to include Israel on terror watch list, says it was done ‘erroneously’ – “WASHINGTON (JTA) — Israel was included erroneously on a U.S. Department of Homeland Security terrorist watch list, a U.S. official said. John Morton, the director of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement division of the department, said Israel’s recent appearance on a list compiled by the department’s office of the inspector general was a mistake. ‘The addition of Israel in the OIG’s list of ICE’s ‘Third-Agency Checks’ (TAC) was based on inaccurate information provided to the OIG during the course of its audit,’ Morton said in a statement sent by e-mail to JTA.” Read more.

In other words, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security decided to change its tune only after the public outcry for logic and reason, a dearth thereof which often exists within the bowels of the Obama administration. A scrutinized terror watch list such as this with such blatantly ‘inaccurate’ information does not get released ‘erroneously’. It’s not like it was one individual with a confusing or common Middle Eastern name. This was the State of Israel, America’s strongest ally in the Middle East, if not the world. I’d love to know who provided the so-called ‘inaccurate information’ and what their affiliations are …

The Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Inspector General published the list of ‘specially designated countries’ as an appendix to an unclassified May 11 report–‘Supervision of Aliens Commensurate With Risk’–that was publicly posted on the Internet. (The appendix is on page 18 of the document.)
As a matter of policy, according to the inspector general’s report, citizens of Israel and other ‘specially designated countries’ are subjected to a special security screening called a ‘Third Agency Check’ (TAC) when they are actually detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the division of the Department of Homeland Security responsible for enforcing the immigration laws.
The five countries on the list that do not have majority Muslim populations–Kazakhstan (47 percent Muslim), Eritrea (36.5 percent Muslim), Israel (16.9 percent Muslim), the Philippines (5 percent Muslim) and Thailand (4.6 percent)–have had internal problems with radical Muslim terrorists, as reported by the State Department.

Arizona: Huge Dust Storm Envelops Phoenix
By Matt Haldane – “A large dust storm rolling through the Phoenix area obscured visibility and created dangerous driving conditions Tuesday evening.
The storm traveled across much of the Valley at 30 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service. It originated near Tucson and reached metro Phoenix about 7:30 p.m.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport had to shut down about an hour, causing some flight delays.
The storm also caused power outages in some areas. In Tempe, officers were directing traffic at intersections in blackout areas, according to police Lt. Scott Smith.
The storm brought down some in live wires in Tempe, and one started a fire near Rural and Southern, Smith said.” Read more.

Boat People – Some Questions for the ‘Activists’ Aboard the Gaza Flotilla
Very good questions, and a very good read …
By Christopher Hitchens – “The tale of the Gaza ‘flotilla‘ seems set to become a regular summer feature, bobbing along happily on the inside pages with an occasional update. A nice sidebar for reporters covering the Greek debt crisis: a built-in mild tension of ‘will they, won’t they?’; a cast of not very colorful characters but one we almost begin to feel we know personally. Such cheery and breezy slogans—’the audacity of hope‘ and ‘free Gaza’—and such an easy storyline that it practically writes itself. Since Israel adopts a posture that almost guarantees a reaction of some sort in the not-too-distant future, and since there was such a frisson of violence the last time the little fleet set sail, there’s no reason for it not to become a regular seasonal favorite.
However, given the luxury of time, might it not be possible to ask the ‘activists’ onboard just a few questions? (Activist is a good neutral word, isn’t it, with largely positive connotations? Even flotilla, with its reassuring diminuendo, has a ‘small is beautiful’ sound to it.) Most of the speculation so far has been to do with methods and intentions, allowing for many avowals about peaceful tactics and so forth, but this is soft-centered coverage. I would like to know a little more about the political ambitions and implications of the enterprise.
It seems safe and fair to say that the flotilla and its leadership work in reasonably close harmony with Hamas, which constitutes the Palestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood. The political leadership of this organization is headquartered mainly in Gaza itself. But its military coordination is run out of Damascus, where the regime of Bashar Assad is currently at war with increasingly large sections of the long-oppressed Syrian population. Refugee camps, some with urgent humanitarian requirements, are making their appearance on the border between Syria and Turkey (the government of the latter being somewhat sympathetic to the purposes of the flotilla). In these circumstances, isn’t it legitimate to strike up a conversation with the ‘activists’ and ask them where they come out on the uprising against hereditary Baathism in Syria?” Read more.

“The Houston National Cemetery has told veterans and volunteers alike that they can no longer use the word ‘God,’ ‘God bless,’ or ‘Jesus’ at any and all funerals or condolence cards. The word has been deemed ‘offensive.’
That is according to local volunteer and veterans groups that work at the cemetery. They are now suing the Cemetery in federal court so that they can use the word God.
To cite one specific example given in the suit, the director of the cemetery, Arleen Ocasio commanded volunteers never to use “God bless you” and “God bless” ever again at the cemetery.
Cheryl Whitfield, founder of Houston National Memorial Ladies, could not simply stand by. ‘I could’ve kept my mouth shut and let things happen, but when it comes to standing up for your belief in God and giving comfort to the families, I don’t want to regret not saying anything,’ she said. ‘We all had to stand up for what we believe in.’
Specifically, the suit brought against the cemetery and the Department of Veterans Affairs states that there has been ‘a widespread and consistent practice of discriminating against private religious speech.'” Read more.
Local coalition of pastors calls on Texas Congressional Delegation to demand removal of Houston National Cemetery Director – “Houston, TX – A greater Houston coalition of pastors representing a broad ethnic and denominational spectrum is planning an event on the 4th of July to call for the removal of Arleen Ocasio, director of the National Cemetery in Houston. Ocasio ignited controversy prior to Memorial Day by attempting to censor a pastor’s prayer, and has issued a general policy prohibiting reference to God or Jesus as well as other prohibitions of religious expression at the cemetery.
Pastor Willie Davis of Houston, an Army Special Forces veteran himself, stated on behalf of Houston Area Pastor Council that Ocasio’s actions are offensive in every possibly way and should result in her termination. ‘We concur wholeheartedly with Congressman Ted Poe’s call for her dismissal for these egregious attacks on the sacred right of expressing religious faith on the hallowed ground of our National Cemetery on behalf of those who died to protect that right,’ Pastor Davis declared. ‘There can be no better way to spend a few minutes on Independence Day than to stand together as a community at the National Cemetery and make our voices heard.'” Read more.

Veterans and clergy were expected to show up to the rally, which started at 10 a.m. at the cemetery. The event, organized by the Houston Area Pastor Council, came days after at least two members of Congress called for the termination of Arleen Ocasio amid allegations of religious censorship.” Read more.

Scientists Say California Mega-Quake Imminent

Geologists say Southern California is long overdue for a huge earthquake that could unleash widespread damage.
It all comes down to the Salton Sea, which lies to the east of San Diego. The Salton Sea lies directly on the San Andreas Fault and covers more than 350 square miles.” Read more.

Adobe Book Editor Positive: Obama Certificate is Phony
“NEW YORK – A nationally recognized computer expert who has served as contributing author and technical editor for more than 100 books on Adobe and Microsoft software says the Obama long-form birth-certificate image released by the White House is a fraudulent document created with Adobe software.
‘The PDF file released by the White House contains evidence of manipulation suggesting that one or more forgers utilized existing Hawaiian birth certificates to assemble fraudulently for Barack Obama a document the president presented to the world as authentic,’ Mara Zebest told WND.
Zebest has prepared a full analysis of the image that was presented April 27 by Barack Obama to the world as a copy of his original birth documentation in the state of Hawaii.
The image released online is a copy of Obama’s copy of the original, as are the paper copies that were handed out to reporters.
Zebest’s analysis begins by documenting inconsistencies in the pixels and bitmap text that display throughout the Obama file, for instance, in the birth certificate number 10641, as seen in Exhibit 1:” Read more.
