Rev. David Wilkerson Killed in Texas Car Crash
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, “But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus. “Rev. David Wilkerson, founding pastor of Times Square Church in New York City and author of the well-known book The Cross and the Switchblade, was killed Wednesday in a head-on collision in Texas. He was 79.
‘It is with deepest of sadness that we have to inform you of the sudden passing of Reverend David Wilkerson, our founding pastor,’ Times Square Church Senior Pastor Carter Conlon said in a statement on the church website.
Conlon added that details of the family’s wishes and a memorial service would be provided as information became available.
Crash Details
Wilkerson was driving east on U.S. 175 in Texas Wednesday afternoon, and moved into the opposite lane where a tractor trailer was driving westbound. The truck driver saw the car and tried to move out of the way, but still collided with the pastor’s car head on, according to Public Safety Trooper Eric Long.
It’s unclear what caused Wilkerson to veer into the other lane. His wife Gwen was also involved in the crash and rushed to the hospital, along with the truck driver.

Dearborn’s First Amendment Barbecue
By Henry Payne – “By burning the First Amendment, Dearborn mayor John O’Reilly Jr. and his Wayne County cronies have managed to make nutty pastor Terry Jones a free speech hero, united the left-wing ACLU and right-wing Thomas More Law Center, stereotyped Muslims as intolerant zealots, and put Dearborn on the map as a bastion of small-town ayatollahs.
With friends like Mayor O’Reilly, who needs enemies?
O’Reilly’s outrageous action against the Quran-burning quack — resulting in a Wayne County jury’s conviction of Jones for planning a demonstration in front to the Dearborn Islamic Center on Good Friday — has made Dearborn the laughingstock of First Amendment constitutionalists everywhere.
‘We were arrested for something we had not done,’ said Jones, who has retained the conservative More Center in a lawsuit against the City of Dearborn.
‘This should have never come to this point to begin with,’ said Rana Elmir of the ACLU of Michigan. ‘The judge should have dismissed the case. It’s a complete abuse of the court process, and all those involved should be ashamed.’
‘(District Judge Mark Somers) should have thrown this case out of court immediately,’ agreed Wayne State Constitutional scholar Robert Sedler. ‘And (Wayne County prosecutor) Kym Worthy should know the law. People have a right to use the public street to express their views.’
Alas, Judge Somers only threw gasoline on O’Reilly’s fire by ordering Jones to stay away from the mosque for three years.” Read more.

Wasatch Presbyterian Church is giving Islam’s holy book away for free.
‘Sometimes, it’s hard to know how to push back against the lunatic fringe,’ said Russell Fericks, a member of the session, or governing board, of the 350-member church on the city’s east side.
So when the new pastor, the Rev. Scott Dalgarno, asked the board last week to join him in opening their wallets, the reaction was swift.
The leaders put up $600 before the meeting was over and ordered dozens of copies of an Oxford Press edition of the Quran several days ago. The books will be available as early as Monday at King’s English Bookshop, each with a bookmark bearing these words: ‘This book was donated by the leaders of Wasatch Presbyterian Church, who are not afraid of truth wherever it can be found.'” Read more.

This is idolatry. This is spiritual fornication. This is wrong on many levels. Obama Commemorates All Muslim Holidays, But Skips Christianity’s Most Sacred
“President Obama failed to release a statement or a proclamation recognizing the national observance of Easter Sunday, Christianity’s most sacred holiday.
By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha.
The White House also failed to release a statement marking Good Friday. However, they did release an eight-paragraph statement heralding Earth Day. Likewise, the president’s weekend address mentioned neither Good Friday or Easter.
However, the First Family did attend an Easter Sunday worship service at a Baptist church and last week, the president hosted an Easter breakfast for Christian ministers. In that gathering, the president spoke openly about the Christian faith.
And today, the president and first lady will host 30,000 people for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll. The secular celebration of Easter includes readings, games, and a yoga garden. This year’s theme, ‘Get Up and Go!’ is part of the first lady’s anti-obesity campaign and will also display produce from the White House garden.” Read more.
Islamism and the Future of the Christians of the Middle East
By George Weigel – “… The Hoover Institution Press at Stanford University recently published a short booklet by Dr. Malik [of the Lebanese American University] that should be required reading for anyone concerned with the fate of ancient Christian communities throughout the Levant, including the Holy Land. Islamism and the Future of the Christians of the Middle East can be read in one sitting. Its brevity is an advantage: a concise mind and an accomplished pen distilling a vast amount of knowledge and experience into 68 pages. Let me try, with far greater brevity, to highlight several of the book’s key points.
1) Middle East Christians today have had two distinct historical experiences. One is an experience of freedom. The other is an experience of being a dhimmi, a second-class citizen existing on the sufferance of the Muslim majority in an Islamic state.
2) 90 percent of Christian Arabs live in conditions of dhimmitude today, including the Copts in Egypt, the Chaldeans and Assyrians in Iraq, and the Greek Orthodox and Melkites in Syria, Jordan, and the Palestinian Authority. These are the Christians at greatest risk from Islamism and jihadism.
3) Christians who have been subjugated for generations have, over time, ‘lost all sense of what it meant to experience a life of true liberty.’ Thus they have developed a variety of survival strategies which, having been thoroughly internalized, now seem natural: kowtowing to authority; accepting benefactions from dictators like Saddam Hussein in Iraq or the Assad dynasty in Syria; remaining silent in the face of atrocities committed against Christians by Islamists and other Muslims; blaming the current problems of Christians in the Middle East on that great bugbear, the State of Israel.” Read more.
Report: Obama Planning a Palestinian State with 1948 Borders, Divided Jerusalem

Obama’s plan is reportedly based on principles including: the creation of a PA state in Judea and Samaria, with borders based on the 1948 armistice line, the split of Jerusalem, Israel’s capital city, the negation of the PA ‘right of return’ for descendants of Arabs who fled Israel in 1948, and a focus on Israel’s security needs…
Reports that Obama is concocting his own plan for the establishment of a new Arab state in Judea and Samaria angered land of Israel activists. ‘Nobody has the right to steal parts of the land of Israel,’ said Women for Israel’s Future in response.
‘Obama’s Middle East policy is creating waves of terrorism, and chaos. The ‘peace’ initiatives veil a deep enmity and the desire to see Israel fall,’ the group continued.” Read more.
Europe Considering Recognition of Palestine September 2011
“France said Thursday that European nations are considering recognizing a Palestinian state, heightening pressure on the United States and Israel to re-launch the Middle East peace process.
‘Recognition of the state of Palestine is one of the options which France is considering, with its European partners, in a bid to re-launch the peace process,’ French ambassador Gerard Araud told a Security Council debate on the Middle East.
Britain also indicated that state recognition could be considered.
‘Nothing is off the table with regard to recognition in September,’ said a British spokesman. ‘But nor are we specifying what conditions would be necessary, or sufficient, to recognize, or indeed not to recognize – we’ll have to look at all relevant factors at the time.'” Read more.

A week before Passover, one of those flunkies announced that the administration was both ‘deeply concerned’ and ‘very worried’ about new Jewish homes in Jerusalem. A day later Jewish families hoping to be able to live in their own holy city were greeted with the announcement that approval for more housing had been suspended to avoid offending the little man with the big ears in the White House.
The Obama Administration has spent more time condemning housing in Jerusalem, than genocide in the Sudan. If some parts of Israel are constantly being shelled by terrorists, the Gilo neighborhood of Jerusalem is constantly being shelled by administration spokesmen. Year after year, the people of an overcrowded city are frustrated in their efforts to find a place to live, when some White House or State Department flunky finishes sipping his coffee, gets up in front of a microphone and expresses the grave concern of his master that a new condominium might go up in a place where Jews had been living long before the religion of Obama’s grandmother was even a twinkle in her mad prophet’s eye.” Read more.
Muslims Rally in Tennessee to Protest Against … Anti-Terror Legislation

Muslims from across the state – many wearing traditional skullcaps and headscarves – packed a committee room and corridors to hear testimony on a bill that supporters say would help Tennessee stop terrorist plots but opponents believe singles out Muslims who adhere to Islamic law.
