Thy Will Be Done: Stunned Crowd Bursts Into Applause After Valedictorian Rips Up Speech, Recites Lord’s Prayer

06/05/2013 5 comments

Psalm 20:7-8, “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.”

By Jessica Chasmar, The Washington Times – “A South Carolina valedictorian garnered wild applause after he ripped up his pre-approved speech and delivered the Lord’s prayer at his high school graduation on Saturday.

The act was apparently in protest of the Pickens County School District’s decision to no longer include prayer at graduation ceremonies, Christian News reported. Officials said the decision was made after the district was barraged with complaints by atheist groups.

But that didn’t stop Roy Costner IV of Liberty High School. He ripped up his graduation speech for all to see, before he started talking about his Christian upbringing, Christian News reported.

‘Those that we look up to, they have helped carve and mold us into the young adults that we are today,’ he said. ‘I’m so glad that both of my parents led me to the Lord at a young age.’

‘And I think most of you will understand when I say…’ he paused. ‘Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name…’

The auditorium began to erupt with applause and cheers.

‘Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil,’ he continued. ‘For Thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen.’

Pickens County School District spokesman John Eby said that no disciplinary action will be taken against Mr. Costner.” Read more.

American Muslim Convert Leaves Islam And Returns To Christianity, ‘We Were Lied To … There’s No Happiness, No Joy’ In Islam

05/17/2013 2 comments

On his YouTube post Umar Lee writes, “I invite you to a faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ who died for your sins so you may have everlasting life.” May the Spirit of God continue to open more eyes …

Psalm 70:4, “Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Let God be magnified!’”

By Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch – “Umar Lee, a convert to Islam from St. Louis, was once enough of an Islamic supremacist to write to a rival: ‘i could cut your neck with the sword of islam and watch you squeal like a bitch like daniel pearl.’ In an email exchange with me, he endorsed the death penalty for apostasy.

But now he has left Islam and returned to Christianity. Watch the video; in it he makes many, many important points about how converts to Islam are lied to, and how Islam establishes an empire of fear.

Note especially this, starting at 4:04:

“We can talk about the grievance industry, CAIR, etc., trying to hype up the threat of Islamophobia. Islamophobia is very minor. You want to talk about religious bias? You convert to Christianity in Saudi Arabia, you’re murdered. You convert from Islam in so many Muslim countries, it’s the death penalty. Why are Muslim societies so afraid of missionaries? Why are Muslim societies so afraid of freedom of speech? Why are Muslim societies so afraid of the Gospel? Why are Muslim societies so afraid of the message of Jesus Christ? If you believe Islam is the truth, why don’t you believe Islam can compete in the marketplace of ideas? Obviously you don’t, or you wouldn’t kill people that convert to Christianity and put missionaries in jail.”

Boston Strong: Portrait Of A Hero

04/24/2013 5 comments

A hero need not be defined by a few words when a photo like this speaks a thousand. Despite losing limbs, they still stand strong. May God bless Jeff Bauman and all victims of the Boston bombings …

By John Tesh – “This is what a hero looks like.

By now you know this guy, Jeff Bauman. He’s the 27-year-old Boston bombing victim, who lost both legs in the blast, woke up in his hospital bed and IDed the suspects. That right there makes him a hero.

This takes it to the next level…

Here he is delivering an 18th birthday present to fellow Boston bombing victim and amputee, Sydney Corcoran.

This took place at Boston Medical Center, where they’re both recovering.

Happy birthday Sydney – and God bless Jeff Bauman. The world could use a few more people with that kind of heart and resilient spirit.

Folks on Twitter are calling this incredible image the definition of ‘Boston Strong’ and the photo ‘best picture on the Internet.’ I agree.” Source – John Tesh.

Egypt: Opposition Leaders Refuse To Meet US Secretary Of State John Kerry In Protest Against US Pro-Islamist Stance

03/01/2013 2 comments

Finally, a bit of good political news out of Egypt for a change …

Egypt Independent – “Hamdeen Sabbahi and Mohamed ElBaradei of the National Salvation Front (NSF) will not meet US Secretary of State John Kerry during his visit to Egypt, said Heba Yassin of the Popular Current Party.

The United States insists on painting a positive image of President Mohamed Morsy, despite the criticisms and demands of the opposition, the political figures claim.

Kerry is visiting Egypt early in March. It is his first visit to the country since he took over from former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton earlier this month. Kerry plans to meet with Egyptian officials to discuss regional and international issues.

US President Barack Obama had told Morsy on the phone that Kerry would meet government officials and opposition forces in an effort to encourage collaboration, and support the nation’s burgeoning democracy.

The NSF is boycotting the parliamentary elections scheduled for 22 April on the grounds that there are no guarantees for the integrity of the electoral process, and no neutral government to oversee and manage it.

‘There is US pressure on the opposition to support the Muslim Brotherhood, Washington’s allies in Egypt,’ Yassin said. ‘The boycott puts Morsy in a predicament that the United States is trying to avoid.'” Source – Egypt Independent.

Bangladesh: 19 Christian Children Rescued From Trafficker Intending To Sell Them To Radical Islamic Centers For ‘Suicide Squads’

02/07/2013 6 comments

ICC – “International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that 19 children, who were to be sold to fundamentalist Islamic boarding schools (madrassas), have been rescued. Traffickers lied to the children’s parents, saying they would take the children to Christian boarding schools in Dhaka, when in fact, they were intending to sell the children to various madrassas. Students from Dhaka University discovered the children and rescued them. This is not the first instance of Christian children being trafficked to madrassas, as upwards of 150 children have been rescued from similar situations since July 2012.

According to ICC sources, on February 3, 19 children, age’s five to twelve were rescued from a trafficker named Binoy Tripura. Binoy confessed that he ‘collected the kids from their parents with lies and convinced them that he will admit all the kids to a Missionary [Christian] school in Dhaka.’ He then collected 15,000 Taka (Roughly $183 USD) from each of their parents and intended to receive payment from the madrassa upon delivery of the children.

The children, Christians from the Tripura tribe, realized something was not right during their long bus journey from the remote ‘Cimbuk Hill’ in the Bandarban district to Bangladesh’s capitol city, Dhaka. Twelve of the children ran away at a rest stop and called their parents to explain what was happening. Not knowing what else to do, the parents called Tripura tribal students attending Dhaka University, desperately asking for help. The University students met the bus in Dhaka, rescued the remaining six children, and captured Binoy, who is now in police custody.

This is not the first instance of Christian children being trafficked to madrassas. This year alone, 55 children have been rescued from madrassas in Dhaka. On January 2, police rescued 21 children from five madrassas and ‘other Islamic organizations.’ ICC sources say that these children were forcibly converted to Islam and had their Christian names legally changed to Muslim ones. They believe the children, once fully brainwashed at the madrassa, were ‘destined for suicide squads’ for use in jihad.” Read more.

Never The Same: How The Gospel Of Christ Transformed Two Enemy Tribes Forever

11/14/2012 2 comments

What was true of both Jew and Gentile and the reconciliation that has been made through Christ Jesus has also manifested itself between two enemy tribes in the jungle of Indonesia. Witness what the true Religion of Peace can do when the Word of God is planted in the fertile soil of open hearts …

Ephesians 2:13-14, “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation …”

Pioneers-USA: “The Sawi were headhunters and cannibals when a young couple named Don and Carol Richardson arrived in their village carrying their seven-month-old boy Steve—and a message that would change the tribe forever. The year was 1962, and Steve—and later, three more children—spent their youth among the Sawi, learning the language and embracing the culture in ways that would shape the rest of their lives. Their story was immortalized in the best-selling book Peace Child and a feature film of the same name, inspiring a new generation to take the gospel to the remaining isolated tribes of the earth.

Fifty years later, Steve joins his father, Don, and two brothers, Shannon and Paul, to visit the Sawi village where they grew up. What is the state of the church they planted among the Sawi? Are the friends they played with still alive? Will anyone remember the mark their family left on the tribe? Journey with Steve as he travels to the swamps of Papua, Indonesia, to introduce you to the Sawi, and explore the impact of the gospel among a previously unreached people group.” (Source).

The Millennial Reign Of Messiah: God’s Kingdom Is Coming To Earth

11/13/2012 6 comments

In a corrupted world seemingly filled with hopelessness and despair these days, we are assured of a Promise that will never be forsaken, and a Hope that will soon be fulfilled …

Acts 3:21, “He must remain in heaven until the time comes for God to restore everything, as he promised long ago through his holy prophets.”

1 Corinthians 15:52-53, “in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal [must] put on immortality.”

1 Thessalonians 4:17, “Then we … shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.”

Zechariah 14:5b, 8-9, “… Then the LORD, my God, will come, and all the holy ones with Him … And in that day living waters will flow out of Jerusalem, half of them toward the eastern sea and the other half toward the western sea; it will be in summer as well as in winter. And the LORD will be king over all the earth; in that day the LORD will be the only one, and His name the only one.”

Micah 4:3, “He shall judge between many peoples, And rebuke strong nations afar off; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore.”

Hebrews 12:28, “… since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe”

A Christian Response To The Obama Victory

11/09/2012 Leave a comment

By Joel Richardson – “In light of President Obama’s re-election, it is essential to briefly detail some of the reasons why Christians should rise above the depression and hopelessness that has gripped so many American conservatives.

In the afterglow of Obama’s victory, Ayman al-Zawahiri, Ayatollah Khamenei, Vladimir Putin and Chris Matthews, as well as millions of pot-heads, sodomites, pro-aborts and all common moochers, are sharing a collective thrill. The American people by a clear majority have rejected fiscal responsibility, energy independence, national security, border security, traditional family values, and worst of all, standing with the most defenseless and innocent among us. Barack Obama’s re-election is a complete political, economic, moral, social and spiritual catastrophe.

But despite the very real implications of America’s downfall, Christians have far more substantial hope and reason to remain joyful.

In pondering which portions of Scripture might be encouraging for American Christians at this moment, I was immediately reminded of Hebrews 11, where believers today are encouraged to consider the lives of several faithful saints of old. Some of these men and woman lived very blessed lives and experienced great prosperity. Others suffered terrible hardships. What they all shared, however, was a vision, a hope of ‘a better country,’ a heavenly ‘city.’ Consider what the Bible has to say concerning Abraham:

“By faith he made his home in the promised land like a stranger in a foreign country; he lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who were heirs with him of the same promise. For he was looking forward to the city with foundations, whose architect and builder is God.” —Hebrews 11:9-10

As sad as it is to watch this great country take such a harsh turn into irresponsibility and outright godlessness, we are reminded that our Read more…

From Darkness To Light: Pakistani Muslim Airforceman Turns To Christ After Encountering The Glory Of God At Christian Church

11/04/2012 3 comments

John 12:46, “I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness.”

By Karen Mudge – “Born into a Pakistani Muslim family, Pastor Siddique Paul struggled from childhood with a secret.

Born Mohammad Siddique, the son of a mosque leader, Siddique was drawn to the Bible as a young boy and a young adult, but kept coming back to the Islamic faith in which he was raised.

But when his wife fell sick in 1997, Siddique had an encounter with the Christian faith that had an ongoing impact. The doctor caring for his wife refused to let Siddique pay for her medicine, saying he’d prefer if Siddique and his wife would visit him once she was well.

‘I was inspired by his kindness and love because the medicine was costly,’says Siddique. So he asked for the doctor’s name. Siddique recalls, ‘In our Urdu language the doctor’s name means ‘servant of Messiah’. I got shocked and thought, ‘he is a Christian’. After that I really showed my heart.’

He begged the doctor to introduce him to a Christian family who were acting on the teaching from the Bible. Siddique enjoyed the Christian family and asked them many questions. The family humbly told Siddique that they were laymen, not scholars, but said to him, ‘Our love is here, if you want to come and visit us again, our house will always be open to you and we will say welcome in Christ’s love.’

Siddique attended church with the family. During the service, he issued a challenge to Jesus regarding his three year old daughter who was very ill. He said to Jesus, ‘You are not here, but if you exist, if your blood has power, if you heal my daughter before I reach home, I will try to think about you. Not believe – just think.’

Returning home to a house silent of screaming and crying, Siddique discovered his daughter had begun to sleep peacefully the very hour he issued his challenge to Jesus. ‘Tears came into my eyes and I tried to hide my face from my wife because she was a Muslim.’

This miracle began to melt Siddique’s heart towards Christianity. From that point, despite what he had been told about the Bible and Christianity’s corruption, he

Indonesia: Former Muslim Pays Steep Price For Converting To Christianity, But ‘Turning To Christ Was Worth It All’

10/17/2012 2 comments

Mark 8:34b-36, “… Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it. For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”

By Lucille Talusan, CBN – “WEST JAVA, Indonesia – In the world’s largest Muslim nation, changing your faith can bring lots of trouble.

One man Christian World News spoke with lost his home and his job. In fact, he almost lost his identity. But he still says turning to Christ was worth it all.

Andi was raised as a Muslim and he considered himself to be a devout believer of Islam.

‘I was diligent in practicing the Muslim faith. I encouraged friends to pray and to build the mosque. I was faithful to Islam and didn’t have any intentions of befriending Christians,’ he said.

‘My goal in life was to get rich. And I was also involved in witchcraft. People came to me for healing and they paid me,’ he said. ‘I had a big house and lots of money to spend but I felt empty.’

According to Andi, all this changed when a Christian came to his house and spoke to him about Jesus.

‘He kept on coming to our house but I avoided him,’ he said. ‘Then one day I became ill and my whole family was sick with high fever. This Christian guy brought us to the hospital. He and his friends took care of us.’

The Christians also gave him a Bible and encouraged him to read it.

‘I did not want to read the Bible, but when I got healed, I felt an urge to read the Bible,’ Andi said. ‘And when I read it, I wanted to know more about Jesus.’

Since then, Andi’s Christian friends regularly met at his home for bible study. When his Muslim neighbors heard them singing Christian songs, Muslim leaders came to his house to persuade him to return to Islam.

Andi refused to recant and preached the gospel to them instead. This agitated his Muslim neighbors. More than 30 of them threw rocks at his house.

He was even brought before a mob at the local public hall. They questioned his new religious identity and confiscated his residence card.

The card holds important personal information, including a person’s religion. [W]ithout the card, a person can’t get a passport, obtain most licenses, or conduct many transactions.” Read more.

God Of Wonders: Imprisoned Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani Released, Acquitted Of Apostasy

09/08/2012 11 comments

At one point it seemed that his imminent death was all but certain, but the Lord our God has other plans. All praise and honor and glory and power we give to our King forever! …

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani walks out of jail in Iran and greets his family

Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani walks out of jail in Iran and greets his family

Christianity Today – “An Iranian pastor sentenced to death for apostasy has been acquitted and released, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide.

CSW, which supports the persecuted church, has been informed that Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani has been freed from prison and is now at home with his family.

Pastor Nadarkhani made an appearance in court today during which the apostasy charges against him were dropped.

However, he was found guilty of evangelising Muslims and sentenced to three years in prison.

He was released immediately because he had already served this time in prison, after being held behind bars since the apostasy charges were first levelled against him in 2009.

Pastor Nadarkhani was arrested in his home city of Rasht after he questioned the Muslim monopoly of religious instruction for children, which he felt was unconstitutional.

He was sentenced to death for apostasy the following year. Then in 2011, the Supreme Court said the charges would be dropped if he converted to Islam, something Pastor Nadarkhani refused to do.

CSW had expected the pastor to face new charges in court today for unspecified crimes, but he was instead released.

CSW’s Chief Executive, Mervyn Thomas said he was delighted over Pastor Nadarkhani’s release.

‘We commend the Iranian judiciary for this step, which is a triumph for justice and the rule of law,’ he said.

‘While we rejoice at this wonderful news, we do not forget hundreds of others who are harassed or unjustly detained on account of their faith, and CSW is committed to continue campaigning until all of Iran’s religious minorities are able to enjoy religious freedom as guaranteed under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, to which Iran is party.'” Source – Christianity Today.

‘Remarkable’: Dreams And Visions Bringing More Middle East Muslims To Faith In Christ ‘Since The Birth Of Islam’

09/01/2012 Leave a comment

Psalm 70:4, “Let all those who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; And let those who love Your salvation say continually, ‘Let God be magnified!'”

CBN Host: “In both Egypt and Syria we’re seeing Christians deciding to leave, some of those who are leaving Syria were actually [Christian] refugees from Iraq. With all this trouble going on, are these Christians running out of safe havens?”

Chris Mitchell – “They are.  …[In] 2003 when the Iraq war started, and then the sectarian violence — the Muslim against Christian violence — thousands left. Some of them fled to Syria. Now those Christians in Syria, they really don’t know where to go. Some may be going to Jordan, which might be the last safe haven for Christians in the Middle East …”

CBN Host: “… Despite the turmoil we know that the Lord always finds a way to reach people. We hear about Muslims having dreams and visions of Christ. Share some of those stories.”

Chris Mitchell: “I think that’s one of the most remarkable things happening in the Middle East right now, and the missionaries that I’ve … talked to … say that more Muslims are coming to faith in Jesus Christ than any time since the birth of Islam 1400 years ago. Many of them are coming through dreams and visions, literally, people having dreams of a man in white who calls Himself Jesus and says ‘Follow Me’ for example. It’s happening in Iran. In fact Iran, some say, is the fastest growing church in the world today and that most of the people that are coming are influenced by a dream or a vision that tells them about Jesus, and then through that they may get a Bible, they may meet a Christian, and it’s sort of [the] initiation of their faith in Jesus Christ …”
