Fort Hood Jihadist Killer Nidal Hasan Sentenced To Death

Nidal Hasan to death for the 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood, delivering the only punishment the Army believed fit for an attack on fellow unarmed soldiers. The sentence was one that Hasan also appeared to seek in a self-proclaimed effort to become a martyr.

The American-born Muslim, who has said he acted to protect Islamic insurgents abroad from American aggression, never denied killing 13 people at the Texas military base. In opening statements, he acknowledged that evidence would show he was the shooter and described himself as a soldier who had ‘switched sides.’

The same jurors who convicted Hasan last week had just two options on Wednesday: either agree unanimously that Hasan should die or watch the 42-year-old get an automatic sentence of life in prison with no chance of parole.

‘What Nidal Hasan wanted was to be a martyr and so many of the (victims’) families had spoken to the issue of not giving him what he wants because this is his own personal holy war,’ said Kathy Platoni, an Army reservist who still struggles with images of Capt. John Gaffaney bleeding to death at her feet.

‘But on the other hand, this is from the bottom of my heart, he doesn’t deserve to live,’ she said. ‘I don’t know how long it takes for a death sentence to be carried out, but the world will be a better place without him.’

Hasan had no visible reaction when the verdict was read, staring first at the jury forewoman and then at the judge. Some victims’ relatives were in the courtroom but also showed no reaction, which the judge had warned against before the verdict.

Officials said Hasan will be taken back to a county jail and then transported on the first available military flight to the military prison at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas. The timing on the flight wasn’t immediately clear.

Hasan could become the first American soldier executed in more than half a century. But because the military justice system requires a lengthy appeals process, years or even decades could pass before he is put to death.

In his final plea for a rare military death sentence, the lead prosecutor assured jurors earlier Wednesday that Hasan would ‘never be a martyr’ despite his attempt to tie the attack to religion.

By Reza Kahlili, WND – “Iran is threatening to launch a massive missile strike against Israel if the United States attacks Syria for using chemical weapons against its own people, which could touch off a full-blown war in the region.

‘The day of reckoning is near,’ according to Hossein Shariatmadari, the chief editor of Keyhan newspaper, an outlet controlled by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

An Op-Ed penned by Shariatmadari Tuesday warned that the impending confrontation between the West and Syria would ‘provide the long-awaited opportunity for revenge against Israel and America.’

The editor recalled the U.S.-led attack on Baghdad on March 20, 2003, and President George W. Bush’s boast to reporters seven days later that the ‘Iraq war is over.’ But when the last U.S. soldiers were leaving Iraq in December 2011, nearly 4,500 Americans had been killed and the war had cost America trillions of dollars.

Shariatmadari said that Washington, instead of open war against Syria, has been waging a proxy war against the Assad regime with the help of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt. He said now it is ready to directly confront Syria militarily, one of the members of the Resistance Front along with Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah. However, despite Syrian rebels receiving financial and military support from those Middle East countries, not only has the Assad regime not been overthrown but it has opened a ‘new chapter for the Resistance where it formed the forces of ‘defense of Homeland,’ a force similar to the Basij militias (in Iran).’

Iran has long drawn a red line around the Assad regime. And Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon, Israel’s neighbor, are armed with thousands of missiles. The three members of the Resistance Front have a joint war room.

‘Because of the failure of the intended proxy war, America and some Arab and European countries are preparing to attack Syria on the false claims that the Assad regime has used chemical weapons,’ the editor said. ‘However, America can certainly start the war but it won’t be the one to end it.’

Shariatmadari said that Israel is the ‘Achilles’ heel of America and its European allies and without a doubt with the start of an attack on Syria, thousands of missiles will rain down all over the occupied lands (Israel), which will destroy its critical facilities as it was obvious that its missile defense system (the Iron Dome) could not prevent missiles reaching Tel Aviv.’

He also warned Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Turkey and others who support attacking Syria that they themselves will come under attack from Syria.

‘Muslims should welcome the news of an attack on Syria as it will provide the long-awaited opportunity for revenge, which should destroy the enemies of Islam,’ Shariatmadari concluded.

Have a look at the YouTube video and you will have some insight into a man who truly believes that ‘sinners’, as defined by his own interpretation of Islamic law, can truly benefit from a jolly good stoning.

Listen as he explains that a Muslim who is sentenced to death by stoning actually benefits from this gruesome capital punishment as his or her soul is being purified even as the stones rain down on their head.

It would almost be funny if it were in a Monty Python movie. Almost, but not quite, because there is no joke to make about a medieval form of punishment like stoning.

More importantly, why is it that in the 21st century people can free to spew such hateful material all in the name of religion?

Alas, it might be more widely spread than Canadians would believe.

In 2010, the Pew Research Centre in Washington published the results of an extensive poll of Middle East countries and tapped into their views of modern life.

According to the Pew results, at least three-quarters of Muslims in Egypt and Pakistan say they would favour making each of the following the law in their countries: stoning people who commit adultery, whippings and cutting off of hands for crimes like theft and robbery and the death penalty for those who leave the Muslim religion.

Majorities of Muslims in Jordan and Nigeria also favour these harsh punishments.” Read more.

Syrian Official: If Damascus Is Attacked, Israel Will Be Set On Fire

‘If Damascus comes under attack, Tel Aviv will be targeted too and a full-scale war against Syria will actually issue a license for attacking Israel,’ the Syrian army source told the Iranian Fars news agency.

‘Rest assured that if Syria is attacked, Israel will also be set on fire and such an attack will, in turn, engage Syria’s neighbors,’ he added.

The source also warned the U.S. and other Western states that if Syria grows weak, certain irresponsible groups will be formed which will endanger Israel’s security.

‘Therefore, weakening the central government in Damascus will actually start growing attacks on Israel and will create insecurity for that regime,’ he claimed.

After they left the building, the terrorists burnt nearby shops and schools, such as the St Joseph Coptic School, which is run by nuns, a pharmacy and a restaurant. Anti-Christian graffiti were sprayed on the walls along a road.

A few days after the massacre, the guard said that Copts wrote a message on the wall of the orphanage in response to the militants’ insults that read, ‘Despite of what you did, we ask God to forgive you…'” Read more.

Canada: Muslim Man Threatens Mass Murder On Toronto-Turkey Flight, ‘Everyone Is Going To Die’

By MICHAEL NGUYEN, Toronto Sun – “MONTREAL – It was mass-murder threats allegedly uttered aboard a Toronto-to-Istanbul flight that led to serious charges against a Turkish national, QMI Agency has learned.

‘You will hear ‘bang bang’ and everyone is going to die,’ a flight attendant was told on Air Transat flight TS100, a source says.

The pilot of the Airbus A330 with 316 passengers on board turned back 90 minutes out of Montreal’s Trudeau Airport on Sunday.

Dogan Akkaya, 25, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with committing a hoax regarding terrorist activity as well as assault, threats and criminal harassment. The terror-related charge could land him a 10-year-prison term.

Sources tell QMI that the disturbance began shortly after the flight departed Montreal at 6:35 p.m. on Sunday. A man tried to go to the toilet during takeoff, but was stopped by a flight attendant, provoking an altercation.

Akkaya’s bail hearing, scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed after his lawyer requested a psychiatric evaluation.

Quebec Court Judge Jean-Paul Braun agreed to the evaluation, which irked the defendant.

Muslims Promise To Kill Prominent Danes And The Politicians Talk

Dispatch International – “Legal affairs spokesman for the Social Democratic Party, Ole Hækkerup, wants to ‘look into all possibilities’ of denying entry to Denmark for people who have participated in holy war in Syria.

He said this a couple of days before August 26, when a propaganda video showing Muslims firing their weapons at pictures of prominent Danes was posted on YouTube. The video, which appears to have been filmed in Syria, was later removed from YouTube because it was deemed to advocate hate crimes but is available here.

The video features one Abu Khattab, who used to live in the Copenhagen district of Brønshøj and is known as belonging to extremist Muslim circles. He is a prominent member of the Salafi movement ‘Call to Islam’.

In a mixture of broken Danish and Arabic, Abu Khattab encourages his ‘dear brothers’ to take aim at ‘Muslim apostates and infidels who have attacked Islam’.
Following his announcement, he and three other holy warriors fire their automatic weapon at pictures of six Danes.

The ‘apostates and infidels’ are:

Anders Fogh Rasmussen, Secretary General of NATO and Danish Prime Minister during the Muhammed crisis in 2005-2006. He refused to bend to Muslim demands that he apologize for the 12 famous cartoons of the prophet published by the daily Jyllands-Posten.

Naser Khader, former MP and a target of Muslim hatred because he has criticized extremist Muslims and given his daughter a Danish name.

Lars Hedegaard, editor of Dispatch International and chairman of the Danish Free Press Society.

Kurt Westergaard, the man who drew the world-famous picture of the prophet with a bomb in his turban.

Morten Storm, former radical Muslim, later apostate and agent for Denmark’s intelligence and security service PET.

Ahmed Akkari, former imam and leader of the group of imams that went to the Middle East in order to stir up hatred against Denmark. He has subsequently apologized for his behavior.

Kurt Westergaard and Lars Hedegaard have already been victims of assassination attempts.

‘To give you a sense of how big this thing is, and I’m only tracking the people and plots when somebody is arrested and charges are made. … Turns out now we’re up to 148 plots and 398 people,’ David Major, a counterintelligence adviser to President Ronald Reagan and founder of the CI Centre, said at the International Spy Museum.

Homegrown or domestic terrorism is not confined to radical Islamists, Major said. Aaron Greene and Morgan Gliedman, Operation Backfire, or the shooting at the Wisconsin Sikh temple show terrorists run the gamut of ideologies.

However, as a society we tend to focus on the acts perpetrated by Islamic extremists. Critics have questioned the practicality of this, but Major says it is a logical focus.

The majority of the 148 plots were motivated by Caliphate doctrine, a term for the ideology of Islamist groups such as al Qaeda, Major told the Washington Free Beacon.

Citing research from his institution, Major noted ‘114 plots or 77 percent of them are self-identified Caliphate plots,’ and ‘about 20 percent’ are groups such as ‘neo-Nazis, anarchists, the anti-government groups.’

Caliphate doctrine is based on a return to the rule of the first four caliphs, who were considered the ‘perfect’ caliphs. It is described as the core narrative of al Qaeda today.

A senior fellow at the Brookings Institute wrote al Qaeda and other Islamic extremists look at this period as ‘a model for what Islam should seek to revive, a caliphate that can unite the Islamic world or at least a large part of it, drive out the West, and be a player on the international political stage.'” Read more.

Reality Check: How Peaceful Is ‘The Most Peaceful’ Verse In The Qur’an?

In reality, even the most “peaceful” Qur’anic verse is itself yet another one among many that devout Muslims use to justify the slaughter of non-Muslims …

This short article discusses verse 5:32 in the Quran, which Muslims commonly quote when debating critics of Islam. Muslim intellectuals and Imams, as well as Western apologists, often quote this verse as evidence to support their false claims that Islam is a religion of peace. The verse is anything but peaceful and shames, not only the Quran, but Islam in general and all those who quote it.

Sooner or later, some readers with interest in Islamic issues, might come across Muslims (or Westerners) who quote verse 5:32 to spread the lies that Islam is a religion of peace, in which case the explanation in this article might come handy.

I watched on youtube a number of debates involving highly respected intellectuals who did not notice the Islamic trap in the verse. Examples of the debates I watched is the one between Tony Blair (a Muslim apologist) and the late Christopher Hitchens. The verse was also quoted by Muslims debating Douglas Murray and A Hirsi. More recently, Robert Spencer debated an Imam on BBC radio. The Imam quoted the verse but Spencer did not spot its weakness, which surprised me. Any way, all those critics of Islam did well in their debates despite missing an opportunity to expose Islam even further.

This is how the Muslims and Muslim apologists quote the verse:

‘whoever kills a person it is as if he had killed mankind ( or humanity) entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind ( or humanity) entirely.’

This is the verse in Arabic:

And this is the translation (The relevant part emphasized):

Q. 5: 32 ‘Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land – it is as if he had slain mankind entirely. And whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved mankind entirely. And our messengers had certainly come to them with clear proofs. Then indeed many of them, [even] after that, throughout the land, were transgressors’.

The underlined part is normally missed by those who quote the verse and appears as an extra explanation to make the point. Muslims understand the verse as a decree from Allah that: ‘whoever kills a person it is as if he had killed all mankind, and whoever saves one – it is as if he had saved all mankind . Indeed, with a meaning like that, the verse does look humane and peaceful.

Pakistan: Christian Bishop Praises God In The Midst Of Intense Persecution

‘When I am in trouble I say thanks to God,’ said Bishop Akram Gill of the Lahore-based 35,000-strong Emmanuel Church in an exclusive interview with BosNewsLife.

The 53-year-old Christian leader oversees 207 affiliated congregations, many in Lahore, where Christians still worship though their homes, furniture and Bibles were recently torched by furious Muslim mobs.

On Monday, August 26, fellow Christian Savan Masih spent another day behind bars, nearly half-a-year after being detained for alleged blasphemy, which sparked the anti-Christian violence.

As many as 3,000 Muslims rampaged through the city of Lahore’s ‘Joseph Colony’ on March 8-9 ‘to search’ for Masih, 26, who has denied hurting Islamic feelings.

Muslims were seen burning about 200 Christian-owned homes, shops and churches in the Christian neighborhood of Lahore, the capital of Punjab province.

Bishop Gill and local residents said problems began when Masih was refused a hair cut by the local barber shop’s Muslim owner, Imran Shahid, triggering a heated exchange about religion between the two men.

Shahid reportedly told police that ‘drunk’ Masih made ‘derogatory remarks about the Prophet Muhammad.’ Police said the young man was taken into custody ‘pending an investigation’ into the blasphemy allegations.

Gill was reportedly nearly killed when he and his two sons arrived to help church members and other Christians. ‘The moment I reached Joseph Colony, the mob attacked my car and started beating me. They also beat my son Charles Rickey Gill, who was driving my car, and my second son Alfred Vicky Gill, who was with me on the back seat,’ the bishop said.” Read more.
