Morning Star News – “A Muslim mob with knives and iron rods injured several members of an Anglican church in Nasarawa state on Aug. 17 over a dispute about less than 1 cent in change, area Christians said.

Three pastors, four elders and choir members of the St. James Anglican Cathedral were wounded in Lafia, capital of Nasarawa in central Nigeria, as they met for study and worship preparation. They sustained cuts on their heads and other parts of their bodies when some 30 Muslims attacked with motorcycle chains and wooden clubs, along with the other weapons, area residents said.

An area member of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ in Lafia, Joshua Nuhu Kuju, told Morning Star News that a Muslim woman incited the Muslims to attack after she had a minor dispute over payment with a young Christian man who runs the church’s water borehole.

‘The Muslim woman sent her children to purchase water from the church’s borehole, and then a misunderstanding over about 5 naira [less than 1 cent US$] occurred,’ he said. ‘The Muslim woman then went and invited some of her Muslim neighbors, who stormed the church and attacked the members of the church.’

The assailants also damaged Bibles and broke chairs, he said.

The Rev. Isaac Onwusongaonye of St. James Anglican Cathedral, of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), told Morning Star News that at about 6 p.m., as he and six other church leaders were meeting for Bible study preparation and the choir was about to begin rehearsal, a church member informed them that someone was arguing with the young man in charge of the church-run water borehole, Peter Aleku.

‘When we enquired of the water seller what happened, he said that a girl, a [Muslim] neighbor, came and bought water worth 20 naira [1 cent US$] and did not pay,’ Onwusongaonye said. ‘Shortly after, the girl’s sister came and fetched water worth 5 naira and paid 20 naira and demanded 15 naira in change. But the water seller told her that, for the change, to meet her sister who bought water earlier and did not pay.’

The girl protested and then told her mother about the exchange, the clergyman said.

‘The woman came and threatened that she had a son who was capable of demolishing the church, and that she would call him to come and fight the water seller,’ he said.” Read more.

Because Christians believe in YHWH and His Messiah, not in “Allah” and his “messenger.” I’ve said this elsewhere, but it is worth repeating. One of the reasons why Islamists hate Christianity is because it associates Jesus with God, making Jesus a co-equal partner with the Almighty. This, according to Islam, is called “shirk“ and is an unpardonable sin that “Allah” will never forgive. The truth of the matter, however, is that Islam itself also associates the “prophet” Mohammed — whom Muslims claim to be the most “perfect man” to ever walk the face of the earth — with “Allah” himself. On one hand, Islam teaches that “Allah” has no partners, but then contradicts itself by teaching that someone cannot become a Muslim unless they acknowledge that “There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is his messenger” per the Shahada. Unless one acknowledges Mohammed they cannot become a Muslim. In Islam, a Muslim’s “salvation” is therefore entirely determined by their obedience and devotion to Mohammed, effectively elevating the “prophet” of Islam to the same co-equal status of Islam’s own deity. To acknowledge the god of Islam is not enough. The “perfect man” Mohammed MUST be acknowledged alongside “Allah” as well …

This is the nature of the Beast as described by John in Revelation, not only in Nigeria, but all across the Islamic world …

Daily Post – “At first sight, one would mistake him for a perfect gentle man. He wears an innocent face that would make you open your arms for a warm embrace.

But a close look at 27-year-old Nasir Isiaku, you will see a clear picture of a [wolf] in sheep clothing, nay, a green snake under a green grass.

Like the Biblical old Saul, he hates Christianity with passion and he’s proud of it.

Ask him and he bluntly tells you, ‘If we ask our victim, ‘Will you become a Muslim or not and he or she refuses, we will slaughter him like a goat…’ He talked of himself as an Islamic warrior who take delight in chopping off people’s head with a stroke of his dagger.

However, Isiaku had a Saul to Paul encounter and his life changed.

Narrating his life as the second-in-command of a terrorist group that wages war against non-Muslims in the north, Isiaku, a native of Gusau in Zamfara State said, while still in the group, he decimated hundreds of Christians for refusing to accept Islam.

The group, which he identified as Shitte, has the same ideology with the Boko Haram sect – continuous opposition to Christianity.

Hear him, ‘Our own group is called Shitte but we have the same agenda with the Boko Haram sect. You people have only been hearing of Boko Haram, but there are other deadly Islamic groups who are also part of Boko Haram sect,’ he said, adding: ‘Whenever we heard that any of the sects were fighting Christians, we would always join them,’

Isiaku, while confessing his evil deeds to a gathering of Christians recently opened up on how he renounced what he called ‘the cult’ where he drank his victims’ blood so their ghosts would not haunt him in dreams…

Our leaders usually psyched us up, they brainwashed us to fight against Christians because they are enemies of Allah. They taught us that the more Christians we were able to kill, the more our chances of entering Alijonan (heaven)…

Some aspects of the training we receive are not ordinary; we used to drink what one could call spiritual water because it is not ordinary water. We also used to receive strange visitors who were not equally ordinary humans. We receive the visitors in a strange way, our leaders used to summon them: they used to instruct us to recite some passages in the Quran and whenever we do that, the visitors would appear to us during those unholy hours. They could come in three or four. They appeared like humans but they are not humans. We know they are not humans. They usually fortify us with charms for the task before us. They used to instruct us to be strong and fight…

I can’t recall the number of people I have killed. I don’t use gun most times. We usually use guns to shoot people on the leg. If we ask a victim: ‘Will you become a Muslim or not? And he or she refuses, we slaughter the victim like a goat… Our leaders used a Quranic passage that seems to support our action (Recites some Quranic lines). In interpretation, the passage says: ‘O you believers, you should not be friendly with your enemies.’ ‘Believers’ here means we, the Muslims and ‘enemies’ are the Christians.” Read more.

By Eva-Maria Kolmann and John Newton, ICN – “Attacks by extremists on Christian villages in the Central African Republic have left at least 15 dead and made around 1,000 people homeless. The raids were carried out by Islamist militia group, Séléka which seized control of the country following a coup in March 2013.

At least 14 villages in Bouar Diocese were completely abandoned after residents fled, Italian Carmelite missionary, Fr Aurelio Gazzera, told Aid to the Church in Need.

More than 970 refugees arrived at Fr Gazzera’s mission in Bozoum last weekend (3 – 4 August). The priest visited the mainly Christian villages where the attacks took place, on the road between Bozoum and Bossangoa, on Wednesday (7 August).

He told Aid to the Church in Need: ‘It was terrible. Many villages are like ghost towns because they are completely empty. Witnesses told me that the rebels had thrown the bodies of those killed in the river.’ The dead included a five-month-old baby.

Witnesses gave the number of dead as at least 15 – but according to Fr Gazzera it has to be assumed that ‘several dozen’ have been killed. The priest said that predominantly Muslim villages “are not affected by such attacks, or only slightly”.

In a sermon at his Cathedral of Notre Dame in Bangui, Archbishop Dieudonné Nzapalainga spoke out against the ongoing attacks by Séléka.

Preaching on Sunday 21st July, he said: ‘I can’t remain silent while the sons of this country are the victims of the worst kind of barbarism. I can’t remain silent while Central Africans are being tortured and killed, squashed like flies. I can’t remain silent while our mothers and sisters are being raped.

‘I can’t remain silent while the dignity of the Central African is being trampled underfoot, while innocent people are being robbed, while the just and well-earned fruit of our country is being destroyed and looted as though we were in a house of cards.

‘I can’t remain silent when impunity reigns and a dictatorship of arms is being set up.’

Séléka, which means ‘alliance’ in the local Sango tongue, was formed by the merger of six Islamist rebel groups from Sudan, Chad, Darfur and the Central African Republic.” Read more.
