Nigeria: Islamic Leader Says Underage Marriage Is A Muslim Right, Demands Respect For Muslim Sensibilities

07/22/2013 25 comments

Should sensible people respect the insensible? …

9jabook – “A prominent Niger Delta Muslim, Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari, has lashed out at critics of the moves by Nigeria’s Senate to approve under-age marriage.

Expressing his opinion on the issue this morning, Dokubo, who converted to Islam as an adult, insisted that it is the right of Muslims to marry or give out their daughters at any age they wish, adding that this is not the business of non-Muslims.

Said the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF) leader through Facebook:

‘People should learn to respect other people’s sensibilities…We Muslims have the right to marry when we want or give out our daughters at any age we want. It is not your business and the law must respect our right to do so. Anything short of that is an infringement on our rights. We did not ask you to marry ladies of that age or give your daughters out in marriage at that age. Plzzzzzzzz respect our sensibilities.’

News Express reports that the Nigerian Senate has come under fire from outraged Nigerians and the international community after being convinced by Senator Ahmad Yarima to drop a constitutional amendment outlawing marriage to girls under 18. The former Zamfara State governor who once came under fire for marrying a girl believed to be aged 13 had argued that Islam recognises under-age marriage.

Issues pertaining to religion usually evoke strong reactions in Nigeria, a deeply religious nation that has Christianity and Islam as the dominant faiths.” Source – 9jabook.

Human Rights Group: Young Christian Women Are Bearing The Biggest Brunt Of Syria’s Two-Year-Old Civil War

Daniel 11:37a, “Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers [Yahweh], nor the desire of women …”

Al Rod Al Anf, Volume 2, Page 182: “You see [our god Allah] will soon make you inherit their land, their treasures and make you sleep with their women.” (The Words of Mohammed as Recorded by Ibn Hisham)

By Michael Carl, WND – “Syria’s young Christian women are bearing the biggest brunt of the two-year-old civil war, according to a human rights group.

The report by Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, released by Open Doors USA, estimates there have been more than 100,000 casualties since the war’s beginning in 2011.

Five thousand of those casualties are children under the age of 16.

Open Doors spokesman Jerry Dykstra told WND that a disproportionate number of the casualties are young Christian women and girls.

‘The fact is there have been reports of rape of women and girls in Christian communities of Syria. In some of the areas, students stay home from school and church. One report said 5,000 children 16 and below have been killed in the war,’ Dykstra said.

International Christian Concern’s Middle East area specialist Todd Daniels says that non-Muslim Christian women are the target of a fatwa, a religious instruction under Islam.

‘Women, especially those who are non-Sunni, have been particularly affected by the influx of militant Islamic extremists,’ Daniels said. ‘They have taken to abusing non-Sunni women who are viewed as infidels or worse.’

He said the fatwa is an ‘example of the kind of ideology that is not only permitting but in some instances even encouraging treatment of these women in what is really an inhumane way.’

The fatwa was issued by Jordan-born Salafi cleric Sheikh Yasir al-Ajlawni, who said Muslims fighting to overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad can legally ‘capture and have sex with all non-Sunni women.’

Daniels says that means the sheik is permitting rape of all non-Muslim women. Even though the fatwa includes all non-Sunni women, he said, Syria’s Christian women are getting the worst treatment.

Daniels said he has met with Syrian who still have close links to the country and has heard a number of stories of attacks.

‘There have been a lot of refugees who have fled from the Qusair region to Damascus, and they have very bad stories of what they are experiencing,’ Daniels said.

A young Syrian Christian woman told WND through Open Doors that before the war, Christians were on the fringes. She said that now they’re rebel targets.” Read more.

Egypt: Christian Girls Being Snatched By Islamist Traffickers

07/22/2013 Leave a comment

AINA – “The recent upheaval in Egypt once again brings to the forefront the plight of the country’s Christians who have come under increased attack from Islamists since the ouster of President Mohammed Morsi.

Now they’re hoping and praying Egypt’s next government will do a better job of protecting them from attacks and the trafficking of Christian girls.

Funerals like the recent one at St. Mina Church in North Sinai have become all too familiar for Egyptian Christians. Friends and family recently paid final respects to Father Mina Aboud, a beloved Coptic priest. Islamist gunmen opened fire on Mina July 6 while he drove his car after shopping in the northern Sinai town of el Arish.

Father Mina’s murder was no surprise to Egypt’s Christians because they are frequent targets of attack during times of political instability. Christians have struggled for years–not only to protect their churches, homes and businesses, but also their daughters.

One of the challenges facing Christian families, particularly in Upper Egypt, is the kidnapping of young Christian girls. It generally happens when the girls enter their teen years.

To help avoid this tragedy, some families re-locate to Christian villages. But with that comes a whole new set of challenges.

Manel moved her family from a Muslim village to a Christian one near el Minya because she wanted to protect her oldest daughter Maryam from abduction and forced conversion. She made the decision after noticing some Muslim girls and boys attempting to lure Maryam away from her family and faith.

‘The girls used to tell Maryam, ‘Come with us, we will give you a some money, you are having a hard life.’ The young boys were sending the young girls to do this,’ Manel explained. ‘I feared they would kidnap her and then demand a lot of money to return her, or they would return her and she wouldn’t be in the same way as they took her.’ Now residing as strangers in a new town, Manel’s husband has difficulty finding work.

‘I’m much happier now because it is safe for my daughters here, but the working opportunities for my husband are little because few people know my husband,’ she said.

Maryam’s family borrowed money to buy food and make their house payment. They prayed God would provide help.

She and her family are not alone. Last year, a Helsinki Commission hearing revealed the number of disappearances and abduction of Christian girls is increasing. Human trafficking expert Michel Clark told of more than 800 cases.” Read more.

Iran: Eight Iranian Christians Sentenced To Prison For Reasons Of ‘National Security’

Those believing in Truth will certainly make a nation whose foundations are based upon lies feel insecure …

Christianity Today – “Eight Iranian Christians received heavy jail sentences on July 16 after being found guilty of ‘action against the national security’ and ‘propaganda against the system’.

According to a story by Morning Star News, human rights group Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) reported that the eight members of the Church of Iran were sentenced in Shiraz, 571 miles south of Tehran.

Seven of them were originally arrested in Oct. 2012, when security forces raided an evening prayer service. The eighth, Massoud Rezaid, was arrested six days later.

Sentences ranged between one and six years.

Morning Star News said Iranian Christian leaders denied the eight were involved in politically subversive activity.

‘In accordance with the gospel, the church is apolitical,’ said a statement released by the National Council of the Church of Iran.

‘While individual Christians are entitled to hold political opinions, the church does not. These charges are entirely without foundation.

‘However, as loyal citizens we will continue to pray for our leaders and for peace and reconciliation in our nation.’…

Morning Star News said the sentencing comes a month after the presidential election of Hassan Rouhani. Many international analysts believed he would be a modernising force after the eight-year presidency of hardliner Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his crack-down on religious minorities and political dissidents.

Little has changed in terms of religious freedoms for non-Muslims since Rouhani’s election, CSW Press Officer Kiri Kankhwende told Morning Star News.” Read more.

‘We Can Attack Christians’: Muslims In France Riot For Second Day Over Veil Ban, At Least 20 Cars Torched

Firing weapons, throwing gas bombs, torching cars. Here’s an update on France’s “moderate” Muslims not-so-peacefully demonstrating for “peaceful purposes” …

Happy Ramadan 2013: Trappes, France

ynet News – “Some 20 cars have been torched and four people detained in a second night of violence in suburbs west of Paris.

The night before, about 250 people clashed with police in the nearby town of Trappes in apparent protest over the enforcement of France’s ban on Islamic face veils. Interior Minister Manuel Valls said police presence will be reinforced in the area until calm returns.

France’s interior minister said Sunday that the incidents overnight targeted the town of Elancourt. Police union official said on BFM television that about 50 assailants were involved, some firing weapons and a gasoline bomb at police.

About 250 people hurling projectiles clashed with police firing tear gas west of Paris, in apparent protest over enforcement of France‘s ban on Islamic face veils Saturday. Five people were injured and six detained in the violence, authorities said Saturday.

The interior minister urged calm and dialogue, insisting on both the need for public order and respect for France’s Muslims. The incident in the town of Trappes on Friday night reflected sporadic tensions between police upholding France’s strict policies of secularism and those who accuse authorities of discriminating against France’s No. 2 religion.

A few garbage dumpsters in the area were torched and a bus shelter shattered in the Trappes unrest. Spent tear gas capsules lay on the road Saturday near the police station at the center of the violence.

A 14-year-old boy suffered a serious eye injury in the violence, from a projectile of unknown provenance, Prosecutor Vincent Lesclous told reporters. Four police officers were injured and six people were detained in the violence, said an official with the regional police administration.” Read more.

France: Four Muslim Women Attack, Make Racist Comments Against Elderly Couple For Daring To Look At Them

07/21/2013 Leave a comment

The tree of multiculturalism continues to bear its bitter fruit. Muslim immigrants in France physically attack French police. They physically attack French soldiers. They physically attack French property. They physically attack French Jews and other non-Muslim citizens. And all for the glorious cause of “Allah” and his false prophet

Qur’an Sura 48:29a, “Mohammed is [Allah’s] apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers [non-Muslims] …”

By Larep.fr via Islam verses Europe – “Last Sunday. A couple of elderly persons were walking on the banks of the Loire. It was around 5 pm, and the husband and wife had an unpleasant encounter on the Saint-Laurent riverbank.

Walking towards the bridge of Europe, the elderly people came across ‘four young women, of North African origin. Two were wearing clothes of a very bright orange. That attracts attention, my wife just looked at them, that’s all?!’, recalls the 73-year-old man. Angry and still deeply affected, even five days after the facts.

Not having stared at them at all therefore, according to the couple, the young women (‘I would say they were about 20’) then attacked the 71-year-old female who was out walking, making racist remarks about her, and pushing her. ‘They struck my wife. Shocked, she collapsed, I had to hold her.’

At that moment, two men were passing along the riverbank in their car. Noting that people were gathered together as if for the start of a fight, they get out of the vehicle and also took the side of the four young women.

‘They insulted us too.’ The man in his 70s, feeling that the situation could degenerate further, took his phone and managed to alert the police. The two men got into their car once again and disappeared. The four young women did the same, on foot, first walking quickly ‘then running, once they reached the fountain.’ They were swallowed up in the Madeleine district before the national police arrived on site. End of story…

A few days later, it is not the physical harm – suffered by his partner – that bothers him but the moral shock. ‘You shouldn’t strike a 71-year-old woman, and treat her like that for no reason,’ he says, emotionally. ‘She says she’s afraid, and that she can never walk on the banks of the Loire again.’

The next day, Monday, the couple who had been attacked filed a complaint. The investigation is underway but for now has not been able to find their attackers.” Source – Islam verses Europe.

Morocco: Muslim Landlords In Casablanca Hang ‘No Blacks Allowed’ Sign On Apartment Buildings

07/21/2013 Leave a comment

Racism. It’s integral to Islam and, as noted before, since the “prophet” of Islam — the most “perfect man” to ever walk the face the earth — was himself a staunch racist, then any good Muslim would be crazy not to be one, too …

Qur’an Sura 33:21, “Indeed in Allah’s Messenger (Mohammad) you have an excellent example to follow for him who hopes in (meeting with) Allah and the Last Day…”

France 24 – “‘Renting apartments to Africans [blacks] is strictly forbidden’. This message hangs in several building lobbies in Casablanca, Morocco. Some landlords have been enforcing this rule, even though it is completely illegal. Our Observer, a student from the Ivory Coast, experienced this discrimination firsthand a few months ago.

Several photos of these posters, written in both French and Arabic, have been circulating on social networks over the past few days. According to our Observers, the photos were taken in buildings in the residential Farah Essalam neighbourhood in the Oulfa area, where many students from sub-Saharan Africa live. Similar posters have also been reported in other parts of town.

While Morocco is located in northern Africa, many Moroccans don’t consider themselves ‘Africans’, a term they generally use to refer to sub-Saharan Africans.

Nafissa (not her real name) is studying science in Casablanca. She is from Ivory Coast.

‘In 2012, three of us students were renting an apartment in the Areeda residence in the Oulfa area. As Africans, we quickly became the target of threats from residents who didn’t want to have us as neighbours.

One day, when we came home from university, we came across this poster. At first, we didn’t know it was aimed at us, but then someone translated it for us. We were really shocked.

After that, we got even more threats than before. Our apartment’s landlord did everything he could to help us, but under growing pressure from the other apartment owners, he had to order us to leave, which we refused. On January 1, 2013, the police came to force us to leave. We were taken down to the police station. My friend was slapped by an officer. We still don’t know what legal basis the police acted on.

I haven’t been back to our old building since, but my friends tell me that the poster is still there. I’d like to say it’s an isolated case, but my experience makes me think otherwise. From the first day at my new apartment, the residents have been asking the landlord to kick us out. But we’ve signed a lease, which the landlord has so far refused to terminate.

Discrimination against Africans has been firmly rooted here. Not all relationships with Moroccans are this confrontational, but life is definitely more unpleasant if you’re black.'” Read more.

Barack Obama Honors Trayvon Martin, Ignores Fort Hood Jihad Victims

07/20/2013 2 comments

In fact, Barack Obama seems to be more concerned with an alleged instance of racial profiling than he is with profiling a problem that threatens the entire human race itself …

“Trayvon Martin could have been me …”

Investor’s Business Daily – “War On Terror: The jury has been selected and the trial date set for the jihadist accused of 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 of attempted premeditated murder acting, as he says, in defense of the Taliban.

Army Sgt. Alonzo Lunsford has not received a phone call from Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson. Nor does the African-American veteran who was shot seven times by Maj. Nidal Hasan at Fort Hood expect to. He is merely relieved that nearly four years after the massacre at the Army base in Texas, a jury has finally been selected and a trial date has been set.

Thirteen people, including a pregnant soldier, were killed and 32 others shot Nov. 5, 2009, at the Killeen facility during Hasan’s rampage against soldiers being processed for deployment to Afghanistan. Hasan has said he did it in defense of the Taliban, a self-admitted act of terrorism on behalf of a foreign entity.

One would expect that when a self-proclaimed ‘soldier of Allah’ shouting ‘Allahu Akhbar’ opens fire on dozens of American citizens and soldiers, killing and maiming as many innocents as he can, it would have been called an act of terror. One of the great scandals of the Obama administration has been its shameful designation of the massacre as ‘workplace violence.’

Attorney General Eric Holder has refrained from filing terrorism charges in the case and is currently busy in Florida announcing his intent to find George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watchman found innocent of murdering Trayvon Martin, guilty of something, anything, to satisfy the racial grievance industry.

‘Not only am I disappointed (in Holder), I’m embarrassed. Mr. Holder needs to understand the repercussions of his actions,’ Sgt. Lunsford says.

Lunsford also expressed outrage at the fact that some victims are financially struggling, but that because of the categorization of the shooting as a ‘workplace shooting,’ he and those other victims are not entitled to combat-related benefits they would have received had they been injured overseas.

Meanwhile, Hasan has continued to receive paychecks over the past four years, amounting to $287,000.” Read more.

And they are just getting started. India: Hundreds Of Muslims Riot In Kashmir After Alleged Burning Of Qur’an

AsiaNews – “A curfew has been imposed in the main cities of the State of Jammu and Kashmir after violence broke out yesterday in the district of Ramban following the burning of a copy of the Qur’an and the beating of an imam in Dadam. Four people died and 42 were injured in clashes with India’s Border Security Force (BSF).

The BSF is made up special units from the Indian Armed Forces, responsible for monitoring the country’s borders. Known for their violent behavior, BSF agents have often been involved in trafficking and smuggling.

According to some witnesses, members of the BSF desecrated a copy of the Qur’an and attacked an Islamic cleric. When the news spread, hundreds of people gathered near a BSF camp in Ramban. At some point, troops opened fire, injuring dozens of people and killing four.

After the clash, tensions rose further, so much so that the authorities of the Indian state decided to impose a curfew in many cities, including Srinagar, the state capital.

About a thousand Hindu pilgrims heading for the temple of Amarnath were stopped.

Today, some extremist groups have called for a strike throughout Jammu and Kashmir in protest against yesterday’s violence.

‘It is highly unacceptable to shoot at unarmed protesters just because they were reportedly protesting [against the] manhandling of an Imam of their area,’ said in a statement Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.” Read more.

Lawlessness: Policeman Attacked In Paris, Hundreds Of Muslims Riot After Authorities Enforce Anti-Veil Law

07/20/2013 Leave a comment

Europe continues to reap what it has sown. This isn’t the first time, nor will it be the last, that we witness violent Muslims expressing their disdain for the laws of civilized societies …

France 24 – “About 250 people clashed with police firing tear gas in a Paris suburb on Friday, in apparent protest over enforcement of France’s ban on Islamic face veils.

Four police officers were injured and six people were arrested, while a 14-year-old boy suffered a serious eye injury from a projectile, police said.

Youtube videos showed demonstrators hurling projectiles at police in Trappes, a gritty suburb southwest of Paris, while a number of bins were set on fire.

Around a dozen vans carrying riot police were deployed to the area, while a helicopter was dispatched to carry out surveillance of the town.

Order was restored at around 3am when the crowd began to disperse.

Husband of veiled woman ‘tried to strangle police officer’

The clashes were apparently sparked by the arrest on Thursday of a man accused of assaulting a police officer after his wife was stopped for wearing a full-face veil – illegal under French law.

‘Her husband reacted in a hostile fashion, insulting and hitting the policeman,’ Jean-Marc Galland, a senior official for Yvelines département (region), where Trappes is located, told Reuters. ‘The man was placed in custody for that reason.’

‘On Friday, there were demands for clarification from people in the town who did not understand the arrest,’ he added.

Mr Lesclous later told reporters that the man had in fact attempted to strangle one of the police officers during the altercation.

However, The Collective Against Islamophobia in France (CCIF) published a statement on its website on Saturday, claiming to be from the wife of the arrested man, in which she accused the police of being abusive and using unnecessary force.

She said that a police officer grabbed her by the veil, spoke to her aggressively and violently pushed her mother.

‘I turned and I saw my husband being held on the ground by two policemen who were putting him in handcuffs,’ the statement, by a woman named Hajar, said.

‘Once in the police car, they yelled at us like we were animals.'” Read more.

Nigeria: Suspected Islamists Slaughter Dozens Of Christians In Plateau State

07/19/2013 1 comment

Romans 8:35-37, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, ‘For thy sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.”

Morning Star News – “Gunmen killed six Christians in an early morning attack yesterday on Dinu village in southern Plateau state, a month after  Muslim Fulani herdsmen shot a Christian to death in a nearby village, Christian leaders said.

The identities of the gunmen and the victims were not immediately known, though the Rev. Johnson Kikem, chairman of a nearby Regional Church Council of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN), reported that church members who fled the village in Wase Local Government Area said the assailants were Muslims.

‘Some of our church members there who escaped from the village and ran to us here in Langtang brought the news of the attack,’ Kikem said. ‘We have been told that six of our members have been killed.’

On June 18, ethnic Fulani Muslims killed Toma Vongjen, 40, in a village in Bakin Rijiya of the Wase area, 216 kilometers (134 miles) southeast of Jos in Plateau state, and left church buildings in four villages in ruins (see Morning Star News, June 21).

Fulani Muslims have long fought over property with Christians of other ethnicities, and Islamic extremist groups are suspected of inflaming the herdsmen’s anti-Christian sentiment. The Fulani herdsmen and the predominantly Christian, ethnic Tarok farmers have accused each other of castle-rustling and retaliatory violence in recent months...

In Langtang Local Government Area 30 kilometers (19 miles) from Wase, however, more than 30 Christian men, women and children were slain in three villages in southern Plateau state on June 27 by suspected Islamic extremists from outside of Nigeria, authorities said.

Initially a Muslim spokesman for the military’s Special Task Force (STF), Capt. Salisu Mustapha, said the Christian residents of Magama, Bolgong and Karkashi were attacked by Fulani herdsmen in apparent retaliation for cattle theft. The extent of the massacre and the STF’s firestorm response – killing 20 of the assailants in gun battles, and tracking down and killing another 100 – indicated the attacks resulted from more than tribal conflict, and a week later a more authoritative STF officer denied the attack grew out of ethnic tensions.

‘This is not a case of ethnic crisis between [Muslim] Fulani and [Christian] Tarok, it was a case where some gunmen came to attack residents of three communities of Langtang South Local Government,’ Maj. Gen. Henry Ayoola, commander of the STF in Plateau state, told reporters in Jos on July 3. ‘We found that most of the attackers were not even Nigerians; also, many of them wore talismans and all manners of things over their bodies.'” Read more.

Indonesia: Increasing Intolerance Against Christians Force The Closure Of 17 More House Churches

07/19/2013 Leave a comment

By Mathias Hariyadi, AsiaNews – “The Islamist pressures against Christian communities in Aceh ‘have become intolerable. Within a year, with non-existent legal pretexts, 17 house churches have been closed: these also include Catholic chapels. The islamization of the province continues , just as promised by the governor Abdullah.’ It is the sense of the Annual Report published by IndonesianChristian.org, Protestant organization which monitors the situation of the Christian community in Indonesia.

The forced closure of places of worship and threats against Protestant congregations, says the text, ‘increase unabated. But this will only create tensions manipulated from the outside between the Christian and Islamic communities. The government must guarantee religious plurality and respect: or risk clashes and violence’. Favor Bancin, of the Synod of the churches in Indonesia is of the same opinion, adding: ‘The behavior of local authorities is a potential threat to the tolerant atmosphere we see deteriorating over time.’

Indonesia is the most populous Muslim nation in the world and, while guaranteeing the constitutional principles of religious freedom, it is more and more often the scene of attacks and violence against minorities, whether they are Christians, Ahmadi Muslims or of other faiths. In the province of Aceh – the only one in the Archipelago – the Islamic law (sharia) applies and in many other areas the influence of the Muslim religion in the lives of citizens is becoming more radical and extreme. In addition, certain rules such as the building permit – the infamous IMB – are exploited to prevent the building or close Christian places of worship, as is the case for some time in Bogor regency, West Java, for the faithful of the Yasmin Church .

Behind this upsurge is the current governor of Aceh, Zaini Abdullah, who has spent years in exile in Sweden for his activities within the Free Aceh Movement (GAM). During his election campaign, the Islamic politician stated several times that ‘he would not hesitate to apply the Koranic laws in the province.’ And a few months after his election his words have become reality.” Read more.
