The Arab World’s Ramadan Hate-Fest Toward Jews

According to the “prophet” of Islam, any Muslim who fails to hate and kill Jews must be a very bad Muslim …

By P. David Hornik, Frontpage Mag – “Last Wednesday Ramadan began—the month-long Muslim holiday commemorating the first month in which Muhammad received Quranic revelations.

Ramadan is, of course, a holiday of fasting—during the day. In the evenings, after the fast-breaking Iftar meal, families typically gather together around the TV. That sounds nice—family fun and togetherness for the holiday.

The problem is with the content of some of the programming. In the Arab world in particular, Ramadan with its many nights of consecutive TV-viewing has been a time for long serial productions about the Jews. This year is no exception.

This year Arab families are being treated to a series called Khaybar (reports here and here; original MEMRI report here). Khaybar was, of course, the town in northwestern Saudi Arabia where, according to the Quran, Muslims massacred Jews in 628 CE. To this day, ‘Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Muhammad is returning’ is a Muslim battle cry against Jews or Israelis—used, for example, on the Turkish ship Mavi Marmara in May 2010.

In advance billing for the show, Al Jazeera told viewers that it ‘sheds new light on the battle with the Jews, on their hate for Islamic preaching, on their crafty schemes…and even their personal aggression towards Muhammad himself.’

Scriptwriter Yusri Jundi, reports Ynet, ‘has become a hot commodity on the Arab interview circuit’; he told Al Jazeera that ‘the series shows how the Jews are Jews and that their nature endures despite the fact that hundreds of years have passed, they still spread corruption wherever they live.’

One of the leading actors, Sameh el-Sereity, told an Egyptian paper that ‘the hostility between us and the Jews still exists. The hatred is ingrained. Neither Egyptians nor Arabs need this show to justify their hatred of Zionism. The existing struggles between us provide the simplest proof of this.’

The show is an international Arab collaboration with a Jordanian director, Egyptian script, Qatari production, and actors from Egypt, Jordan, Iraq, Syria, and Qatar. According to MEMRI it was set to be shown on channels such as Dubai TV, Dream TV (Egypt), Al-Iraqiyya TV, Algerian Channel 3, Atlas TV (Algeria), Qatar TV, and UAE TV.

Seemingly all this should give the world’s peace processors pause. There are still a lot of them, undeterred by anything that has happened since the initial ‘peace’ euphoria of the early 1990s.

Pakistan: Violations Against Christians Soar, ‘Killing, Oppression And Humiliation Are More And More Frequently Taking Place’

By Mohshin Habib, Gatestone Institute – “Rimsha Masih, a young Pakistani Christian girl, who was arrested in August 2012 by Pakistan’s police for alleged blasphemy, has escaped the country with the direct help of Canadian Immigration Minister Jason Kenney and AVAAZ, a civic organization. Local media and her parents said she was as young as 11 at the time of her arrest; medical reports classified her as an ‘uneducated’ 14-year-old with a mental age younger than her years. Accused of burning pages of the holy book for Muslims, the Quran, Masih, under Pakistan’s ‘blasphemy laws,’ faced the death penalty…

Killing, oppression and humiliation are more and more frequently taking place in Pakistan. In addition to the well-known cases of Martha Bibi, Younis Masih, Rifaqaat Masih, Sawan Masih, Samuel Masih [Masih, meaning ‘messiah’, is a very common name among Pakistan’s Christians] and many others are also being subjected to killings, imprisonment with long sentences, beatings, and burnings. In just the past few months, for instance, Pakistani police killed three Christian boys for love affairs with Muslim girls. Afzal Masih 20 and Iftekhar Masih 20 were killed on Aprl 29, and Adnan Masih was tortured, then killed, by the police on June 10.

In August 2012, an 11-year-old Christian boy was found dead, with his lips and nose sliced off, his stomach removed and his legs mutilated. Police said he had also been subjected to sodomy.

The Society for the Protection of the Rights of the Child reports that as many as 2,000 girls and women from various minority sects have, through rape, torture and kidnapping, been forcibly converted to Islam; and in 2011 alone, 161 people were charged with ‘blasphemy.’ According to reports, in 2009, eight Christians were burned to death in Pakistan’s province of Punjab after rumors spread of a desecration of the Quran.

In April, 2013, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom warned that the risk to Pakistan’s minorities has reached a crisis level. The Commission said that the blasphemy laws, and others, are used to violate religious freedoms and foster a climate of impunity.

Blasphemy laws are, at present, the most significant tool for persecution against the Christian community. These laws, however have also often been used to settle personal disputes or just to make Pakistan into a Christian-free state. These trends sharply escalated when, in 1986, Pakistan’s late military ruler, General Zia-ul-Haq, harshly amended the British-era blasphemy laws in Pakistan’s penal code, with sections 295-C, 298-A, 298-B, and 298-C the most dire:

Section 295-C: “Use of derogatory remarks, etc., in respect of the Holy Prophet…shall be punished with death or imprisoned for life…”

Section 298-A: “Uttering words, etc, with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings….”

Section 298-B: Misuse of epithets, descriptions, titles reserved for certain holy personages or places…”

Section 298-C: “A person who poses himself as a Muslim…. or in any manner whatsoever outrages the feelings of Muslims.” [Emphasis added.]

No later government has since dared to re-amend them.

Since 1986, more than 1200 people have been charged under blasphemy laws. The Asian Human Rights Commission has cited the Islamabad-based institute Center for Research and Security Studies in a report which says that more than 1,000 people have been charged in Pakistan for committing offences against the blasphemy law. Since 1990, 52 people have been extra-judicially murdered for being implicated in blasphemy charges. Among them, 15 were Christians.

Nasir Khan, a Pakistani who resides in Dhaka, Bangladesh, has said that no evidence is required before the court; just the verbal statements of two or three persons are enough to punish a non-Muslim for blasphemy.” Read more.

By Casey Larsen, UN Watch – “GENEVA – Nations attacked the West for wrongly associating Islam with terrorism at a June 19-21 international conference in Geneva organized by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, part of the U.S.-Turkish led ‘Istanbul Process,’ an intended Western-Islamic framework for détente created by a 2011 UN Human Rights Council resolution to ‘combat intolerance, discrimination and incitement to hatred and/or violence on the basis of religion or belief.’ …

[A] topic of concern was the image globally projected of Islam and its frequent association with violence. Muslim panelists and member-state representatives insisted on the inherently peaceful character of their personal faith and state religion.

Slimane Chikh, Ambassador of the OIC’s UN mission in Geneva, stressed that Islam is a religion that accepts dissent.

In a debate on the implementation of Paragraph 5 (e) of Resolution 16/18, Ambassador Ömür Orhun, the Permanent Representative of Turkey to the OSCE, regretted use of the term ‘Islamic terrorism’ by the Western media following terrorist attacks like the 2005 London bombings. ‘There is no such thing as Islamic terrorism,’ he said.

US Ambassador Kozak responded that terrorists are often labeled as such in Western countries precisely because this is what they term themselves. Most ‘Islamic terrorists’ are self-proclaimed as such…

Regrettably, the conference turned a blind eye to terrorism committed by Islamist extremists even as it met. On June 19th, the conference’s opening day, The Times reported that 16 students had been shot dead in Nigeria by suspected Islamist terrorist group Boko Haram, whose name roughly translates as ‘Western education is sin.’ …

… He also expressed concern that the conference’s overall narrative was unhelpfully framed in terms of ‘the West versus the rest,’ with prime focus on the West’s failure to enact prohibitions on free speech; and this despite the fact that the countries where the most religious violence takes place tend to be those that have blasphemy laws in place.

Pakistan reacted indignantly, dismissing the Muslims in America that had been cited by the US delegation as having praised American tolerance as merely ‘rented Muslims’ – a term that Ambassador Kozak rejected.” Read more.

Lying Wonders: ‘Angel Gabriel’ Miraculously Visits Pro-Muslim Brotherhood Supporters In Cairo

Al Arabiya – “Protesters in Cairo’s Rabia al-Adawiya Square believe they have seen the light.

In a show of support for Egypt’s ousted president Mohammed Mursi, a preacher giving a sermon at the Square this week told the crowds of a miracle.

In the speech, broadcast on Egyptian satellite channels, the preacher said the Angel Gabriel had been spotted among the crowds at the pro-Mursi Square.

Sheikh Ahmad Abdel Hadi, a Muslim Brotherhood preacher, addressed protestors saying: ‘Some good men in Madina Al-Munawara (in Saudi Arabia) told me of a vision in which Gabriel entered Rabia al-Adawiya’s mosque to keep people praying stationed in their positions.’

He added that there was another vision in which there was a gathering attended by Prophet Mohammed, Mursi and others. In the vision, when it was time for prayers, the people asked the prophet to head the prayers, but the propher asked Mursi to lead instead.

Abdel Hadi also said that a ‘righteous man’ saw another vision in which ‘there are 50 camels, youths and children in a desert.’

‘After a while, the camels, youths and children got very thirsty. As they pleaded to God for help, the earth split and a stream appeared. The people drank and then they heard a voice saying: ‘Take care of President Mohamed Mursi’s camels.’’

Meanwhile, Egyptian Sheikh Mosaad Anwar drew a comparison between Mursi and Yussef, the prophet, and said they were similar considering that they both ruled after years of suffering and detention.

Sheikh Shawki Abdel Latif, a representative for the Ministry of Awqaf (Endowments), told Al Arabiya that ‘such dreams only aim to make what’s wrong become right, to put poison in honey and lie about the prophet, peace be upon him.’

As for the claims that Gabriel visited the mosque of Rabia al-Adawiya, Abdel Latif said that this too is a lie as Gabriel is an angel that only appears before the prophet.

‘Such statements attempt to exploit religion for political reasons and to grant legitimacy to ousted president Mursi,’ Abdel Latif said.” Read more.

Bangladesh: Islamist Victories Sweep Nationwide Municipal Elections

AsiaNews – “The latest municipal elections in Bangladesh marks a turning point in the country’s politics. The Awami League (AL) lost everywhere: in Sylhet, Barisal, Rajshahi, Khulna and Gazipur. Candidates running for the main opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) won in every city where elections were held, taking control from the ruling secular-oriented AL.

Two factors explain THE shift. On the one hand, corruption is rampant within the Al; on the other, religion has been used for political ends. It is unclear though, which played the greater role.

For many commentators, the ruling party’s arrogance and thirst for power turned voters against it, beginning when it came to power by forcing out the caretaker government that is legally in power before elections.

Prime Minister and Awami League leader Sheikh Hasina has also been accused of corruption and of doing nothing about the heavy-handedness of her party’s youth league.

Meanwhile, the BNP was backed by the Jamaat-e-Islami, an Islamic opposition party. In recent months, the two parties have held numerous hartal (strikes) against rulings by local courts against members of the Islamist party involved in Bangladesh’s War of independence.

Despite the violence often associated with protests, the latter boosted Jamaat’s popularity.

In the campaign, the Islamist party accused the Awami League of atheism, and of being far from the interests of the population (Bangladesh is 89.9 per cent Muslim), allegations that found favour among the least educated. This favoured the BNP’s victory in the municipal poll.

By ANGELLA JOHNSON, Mail Online – “The mob converging on a church on the outskirts of Cairo were armed only with sticks and stones.

But their frenzied attack on a lone, elderly Coptic priest was merciless.  Father Matthew Awad had refused to reveal the whereabouts of a Muslim woman who had converted to Christianity. For this offence, he was assaulted, suffered death threats and barely escaped with his life.

Today, he is in hiding. His entire family fear for their safety. Matthew’s son, shop owner Marco Awad, cannot set foot in public after he was arrested and tortured by Egyptian police officers sympathetic to the Muslim Brotherhood.

Two of his three young children are with him in a safe house while his sister, wife and four month-old-son have fled Egypt to Britain and are now staying in Brighton.

Marco, who refused to be photographed because of the risk to his life, told The Mail on Sunday from a monastery in the desert: ‘Muslim fundamentalists are killing our priests, kidnapping our women and burning our churches. Since the 2011 revolution, Coptics like me have lived in fear of our lives. I’m being forced to live apart from my family because of my faith.’

The minority Christian group are reeling after a frightening rise in religiously-motivated attacks. Last Thursday, the decapitated body of church elder Magdy Lamay Habib, 59, was found in a graveyard, six days after he was kidnapped by extremists in northern Sanai.

And priest Father Mina Aboud Sharobeel, 39, was shot dead when Islamic gunmen opened fire as he drove home from a weekly grocery shop at a market in the town of El Arish, near the Gaza border.

Supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood are believed to have launched the attacks because they blame Coptic Orthodox Patriarch Tawadros II for backing the military’s removal of President Mohammed Morsi from power on July 3.

Christians are especially vulnerable in Sinai, where much of the population is armed and the local economy hinges on the smuggling of weapons, drugs and people.

Security officials believe a local branch of Jabhat al-Nusra, the feared Islamist group that is fighting against the Syrian government, may also be operating in Sinai. As are Jihadist groups, including affiliates of Al Qaeda.” Read more.

Australia: ‘Savior Of Humanity’ Misinfomercials Using Fake Quotes From Fictitious Book

Claiming something real that is actually fake? Where have I heard that before? Here’s an update on this story out of Australia. It appears that Islam’s other “Savior of Humanity” needs to bolster the claim by quoting imaginary quotes from yet another fabrication …

By Rachel Baxendale, The Australian – “ANTI ‘Islamophobia’ advertisements due to screen on major free-to-air channels from today rely on a fabricated quote from Irish playwright and avowed atheist George Bernard Shaw, from a book that does not exist, according to the International Shaw Society.The 30-second ads have been funded by the Sydney-based Mypeace organisation, which says it hopes to ‘build bridges’ between Muslims and other Australians.

Animated with voiceovers and with quotations displayed on the screen, they feature major historical figures including Mahatma Gandhi and Shaw praising the prophet Mohammed.

The advertisements quote Shaw proclaiming the prophet Mohammed was ‘the saviour of humanity’ in a book he is supposed to have written entitled The Genuine Islam.

But International Shaw Society treasurer Richard F Dietrich said he had compiled a complete list of Shaw’s works, which did not include the book.

‘I think The Genuine Islam is bogus,’ he said. In his writings, Shaw described the religion in a 1933 letter to Rev Ensor Walters as ‘ferociously intolerant’.

‘Mahomet rose up at the risk of his life and insulted the stones (that the Arabs worshipped) shockingly, declaring that there is only one God, Allah, the glorious and the great . . . And there was to be no nonsense about toleration,’ Shaw wrote.

‘You accepted Allah or you had your throat cut by someone who did accept him, and who went to Paradise for having sent you to Hell.’

The suggestion that Shaw may have written a book entitled The Genuine Islam has its origins in an interview between Shaw and Muslim propagandist Maulana Mohammed Abdul Aleem Siddiqui published in a Muslim periodical in January 1936.

The interview took place in Mombasa, Kenya, some time between April 10 and 20, 1935, and copies of the periodical remain.

UK: Teacher Refused To Give Boy, 10, Water During Hottest Day Of The Year To Avoid Offending Muslim Pupils Observing Ramadan

A public school teacher bowing down to “Allah” in an effort to not offend the perpetually offended should be suspended. If it was the other way around, would a Muslim teacher in a predominantly Muslim country have cared if a Christian student may have thought they were being treated “unfairly”? …

Daily Mail – “An angry mother has accused a primary school of denying her child water on one of the hottest days of the year for fear of upsetting pupils observing Ramadan.

Kora Blagden, 32, claimed a teacher at her son Luke’s school refused to let the 10-year old drink from his water bottle because it was unfair to fasting classmates.

Many pupils at Charles Dickens Primary School, Portsmouth, Hampshire, are fasting during Ramadan, which means they refrain from taking food or water between sunrise and sunset for around 30 days, depending on the moon.

Mother-of-four Kora said: ‘Just before bedtime me and my sons Luke, ten, and Alfie, eight, were talking about Ramadan as we had seen it on the news.

‘Luke said to me he was told he wasn’t allowed to drink in class by his teacher.

‘The reason being, a child who is fasting had a headache and the teacher said it would be unfair if the other children drank in front of the pupil.

‘They normally have their bottles on their table but they were kept in a tray by the teacher.

‘He went along with it but he was thirsty and didn’t want to offend the other children.

‘Alfie said he was allowed to drink in the morning but not in the afternoon.

‘Luke was dehydrated when he got home and drunk three glasses of water straight away.’

The teacher made the ruling on Thursday when temperatures soared to 28C.” Read more.

Egyptian Foreign Minister: ‘Obama Told Me He Is Still A Muslim, Who Supports The Muslim Agenda’

I have no reason to doubt Egypt’s Foreign Minister. Obama certainly acts like one …

By Kristin Tate, Mr. Conservative – “Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit said, ‘Obama told me he is still a Muslim, who supports the Muslim agenda.’

Aboul Gheit made this statement on Nile-TV. Here is a report on the incident by Israeli Today, an Egyptian magazine:

Aboul Gheit said he had a one-on-one meeting with Obama, where the US President told him that He was still a Muslim, the son of a Muslim father, the step son of Muslim stepfather, that his half brothers in Kenya are Muslims, and that he was sympathetic towards the Muslim agenda.

Aboul Gheit claimed Obama told the Arabs to show patience. Obama promised that once he overcame some domestic issues, like the Health care reform, he would show the Muslim World how to deal with Israel.

For obvious reasons, most American media is ignoring this news event in Egypt.

Obama is the mainstream media’s darling. God forbid they expose him for being a Muslim. Imagine: If what Adul Gheit says is true, American voters have elected a Muslim as the Commander in Chief of the United States of America.

Of course, what Aboul Gheit said may not be true — so, we are left to interpret the story ourselves.

Whatever the case may be, the Obama Administration has shown they largely support Islam. The term ‘Islamic Terrorism’ is now banned from American jargon. Obama and his colleagues have tried time and time again to present Islam to the American people in a positive light, and as a religion of peace.” Read more.

By Yasmine Saleh and Sarah McFarlane, Reuters – “Egypt’s interim rulers welcomed on Thursday remarks from the U.S. State Department describing the rule of toppled leader Mohamed Mursi as undemocratic, read in Cairo as a signal that Washington will not cut off its $1.5 billion in annual aid.

In a stark illustration of the desperate state of Egypt’s economy, a former minister from Mursi’s ousted government said Egypt had less than two months’ supply left of imported wheat, revealing a far worse shortage than previously disclosed.

The army’s removal of Egypt’s first freely elected leader last week, after millions took to the streets to protest against him, has left the Arab world’s most populous country polarized by divisions unseen in its modern history.

Violence between supporters of Mursi and soldiers at a military compound this week has deepened the fissures.

Washington has been treading a careful line. U.S. law bars aid to countries where a democratic government is removed in a coup. So far Washington has said it is too early to say whether the Egyptian events meet that description.

Nevertheless, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said on Wednesday Mursi’s government ‘wasn’t a democratic rule’.

‘What I mean is what we’ve been referencing about the 22 million people who have been out there voicing their views and making clear that democracy is not just about simply winning the vote at the ballot box.’

The new U.S. remarks were warmly received by the interim government and swiftly denounced by Mursi’s Muslim Brotherhood.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdelatty said the comments reflected ‘understanding and realization about the political developments that Egypt is witnessing in recent days, as embodying the will of the millions of Egyptians who took to the streets’.

Brotherhood spokesman Gehad Haddad said the remarks showed American hypocrisy: ‘There is no way the Egyptian army would have gone through with this coup if it would not have been sanctioned by the U.S.’ …

Two and a half years of political turmoil has left Egypt on the brink of economic collapse, scaring away tourists and investors, shriveling hard currency reserves and threatening its ability to import food and fuel for its 84 million people.

Speaking to Reuters in a tent at a vigil by thousands of Mursi supporters, the ousted president’s supply minister, Bassem Ouda, revealed that government stocks held just 500,000 tonnes of imported wheat.

Egypt, the world’s biggest buyer, usually imports about 10 million tonnes of wheat a year, half of which is given out by the state in the form of subsidized bread sold for less than 1 U.S. cent a loaf.

The imported wheat stock figure, previously a closely guarded secret, means Egypt will need to urgently start spending a $12 billion financial aid lifeline it has been given in the past two days by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, rich Gulf states that welcomed Mursi’s downfall.

Egypt had not bought any imported wheat since February, its longest absence from the market in years, until the eve of Mursi’s downfall when it bought 180,000 tonnes.

State grain buying agency GASC said on Thursday it was unlikely to buy any more soon due to the increase in prices and availability of stocks in Egypt.” Read more.
