Mail Online – “Islamist militants have reportedly beheaded dozens of soldiers at a Syrian army base and mounted their heads on poles.

Extremists from the group Islamic State, previously known as ISIS, seized the base in the northern province of Raqqa, leaving more than 85 soldiers dead and 200 more unaccounted for.

The Syrian Human Rights Observatory said at least 50 of the soldiers had been executed – many of them beheaded – as horrifying footage began circulating online which appeared to show the bodies…

The video, which has not been independently verified, features a voiceover by one of the militants as several decapitated heads are shown mounted on poles on top of a fence.

At least two of the bodies at the Division 17 base were crucified, according to the Associated Press, which said the video appeared to be genuine.

Other photographs posted on jihadist social media accounts showed fighters inside the military base in control of several tanks, trucks and ammunition boxes.

In one, extremist militants raised the black flag of Islamic State above a building.

In another, IS fighters are shown apparently inside Division 17’s living quarters burning a portrait of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The head of the British-based Syrian Human Rights Observatory, Rami Abdel Rahman, told AFP hundreds of troops ‘withdrew on Friday to safe places – either to nearby villages whose residents oppose IS or to nearby Brigade 93 – but the fate of some 200 remains unknown’.” Read more.

The Jerusalem Post – “An Al-Shabab Al-Mujahideen spokesman delivered a sermon in a Barawa mosque in Somalia on Sunday calling upon Muslims to attack Jewish targets everywhere, according to a report provided exclusively to The Jerusalem Post by the Jihad and Terrorism Threat Monitor of MEMRI (the Middle East Media Research Institute).

Speaking about the conflict in Gaza, Al-Shabab spokesman Ali Dhere said all of the ‘nations of unbelief’ participated in the ‘aggression against Gaza,’ mentioning specifically ‘the Americans who stood by the Jews in their aggression against the Muslims in Gaza.’

Al-Shabab’s news agency Al-Shahada reported the sermon in which Dhere blamed Egypt for locking its borders with Gaza.

He also blamed the United Nations for ‘protecting global unbelief’ and for making do with ‘standing by as witnesses and condemning the crimes committed by the Jews in Gaza.’

Dhere called upon Muslims to stand up and take revenge for their Muslim brothers in Gaza, saying: ‘The Jews are spread out throughout the world, and the Jews’ properties are spread everywhere. In light of this, the Muslims must attack the Jews and their properties in every place, and they must pray for their brothers in Gaza.’

He concluded by saying the Muslims in Somalia must take a lesson from the events in Gaza, since the Jews stand behind the enemies who are invading Somalia.

He warned his listeners that ‘If you do not stand up today in front of this enemy who is invading the land, you will face what you Muslim brothers in Gaza are facing.'” Source – The Jerusalem Post.

Ramadan Has Ended, Violence Must Begin

By Itamar Marcus, PMW – “Palestinian Media Watch reported on Thursday that Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas had publicly declared the current conflict with Israel as a religious ‘war for Allah.’ On Friday, the Palestinian news service Ma’an printed an opinion piece that likewise interpreted the last lines of Abbas’ speech as a call to West Bank Palestinians to initiate violence:

‘He gave the sign to let the [Palestinian] street in the West Bank loose. Isn’t the Quranic verse he quoted during his last speech, ‘Permission [to fight] has been given to those who are being fought, because they were wronged. And indeed, Allah is competent to give them victory’ [Surah 22:39, trans. Sahih International] a clear sign to loosen the reins of the street?’

Violence began immediately following Abba’s speech and peaked on Saturday, as reported in the Jerusalem Post: ‘Nine Palestinians were killed during clashes with the IDF and Border Police over the weekend, in one of the deadliest days in the West Bank in the last 10 years.” [July 27, 2014]

A cartoon published in the office PA daily today similarly indicated the PA seeks violence. The picture showed two masked men throwing Molotov cocktails and fire raging in the background. The Arabic text is a saying attributed to Mohammed regarding the end of the Ramadan fast: ‘The thirst has passed, and the throat is moist.’ In this context, the cartoon indicates that the period of quiet is over, and violence has returned.

The Ma’an journalist cited above explained that Abbas chose to encourage the West Bank to join in the violence for political reasons:

‘Abbas realized that by staying outside the arena, he would be excluded from the political game. He also knows that the [Palestinian] street in the West Bank is ready for an explosion.’

The op-ed also noted an explicit statement made by senior Fatah official Central Committee member Tawfiq Tirawi as another indication of Abbas’ desire for violence:” Read more.

Mass demonstrations in London and the other cities of the United Kingdom, violent riots in Paris, ‘Kristallnacht’-style attacks on synagogues in France, Ireland and Poland, public hate preaches of imam calling for the death ‘the Jews until the last one’ in Berlin, abrasive threats to Jewish people in Denmark and Sweden; all this amassing daily.

The things are better in the USA, but there a well Jewish people are threatened because of their national origin ( in Chicago) and where many anti-Israel and anti-Semitic demonstrations have been snow-balling.

As occurred numerous times before, Israel, under non-stop missile attacks by Hamas is presented as a very bad cop; as always, the die-hard left is indulged in calling white black and preaching to Israel to make peace with a cannibal. What’s new in all those anti-Israel and anti-Semitic activities all over the world this time, is the substantially larger number of demonstrators – just everywhere; their determination; their rather high level of confidence and aggressiveness; and largely prevailing Arab and Muslim presence among the attackers and demonstrators.

What we are experiencing today in Europe and the West, is a wave of articulated hatred towards Jews, and Israel, in that order; and also a substantially higher arrogant confidence on the part of the attackers and demonstrators. They are acting in a much bolder way, also demonstrating to us all quite intentionally: we are here, it is within our rights to do whatever we want – and they are indeed allowed to spread all this hate and conduct all these attacks by the European and Western governments who remain largely meek towards racial violence peaking up in their countries.

This is the result of the more than 25 years of extremely short-sighted and inept policy, or actually, absence of firm stand and articulated policy of the European and Western governments on the issue on militant Islam’ spreading and planting roots in the West.” Read more.

Some have surmised that if Hamas were to be removed from power then something even worse could replace them, such as ISIS. But as Israel’s Prime Minister recently explained, and rightly so, “Hamas is [already] like ISIS, Hamas is like al Qaeda, Hamas is like Hezbollah, Hamas is like Boko Haram.” In a worst-case scenario, what would replace Hamas would not be worse, for Hamas is already as bad as it gets. What would replace Hamas would simply be another Hamas with yet another name. Does that mean that Israel should therefore permit Hamas to remain in power? I say no. Hamas must be destroyed, and a lesson must be taught to anyone who wishes to replace it: If you wish to live by the sword of Jihad, you will most certainly die by the sword of Jihad …

Has the whole of Europe become 1930’s Germany? Recent events certainly suggest it. Considering that this sign was also in Turkish suggests that the owners may have been Muslim, though I have no confirmation. Nevertheless, could you imagine the riots and potential deaths — not just across Belgium, but much of Europe — if a Christian or Jewish business owner were to post a sign that allowed dogs but not Muslims? …

By Carol Kuruvilla, NY Daily News – “A Belgian cafe owner is under fire for broadcasting an anti-Semitic slur in his store window.

A sign in Turkish and French announced, ‘Dogs are allowed in this establishment but Jews are not under any circumstances,’ the Jewish Forward reports. The French version of the sign replaced ‘Jews’ with ‘Zionists,’ according to the Jewish Forward.

The Belgian League Against Anti-Semitism (LBCA) spotted the disturbing display in the town of Saint-Nicolas on Wednesday.

Along with the sign, the cafe owners hung a Palestinian flag and a kaffieh, a Palestinian shawl. The Israeli flag was also in the window, but it was crossed out with a giant red ‘X’.

Saint-Nicolas’ mayor sent police to the cafe to remove the sign. But the LBCA is demanding more action.

‘LBCA will file in the coming hours a criminal complaint with the Liege prosecutor over the actions of those responsible for this violation of the July 30 law against racism and xenophobia of 1981,’ LBCA told the Forward in a statement.

The incidence bore a chilling resemblance to another reported act of anti-Semitism that occured in Belgium last week. An Orthodox Jewish woman claimed that a shop owner in Antwerp refused to sell her merchandise ‘out of protest.’ An employee of the store told Joods Actueel, a Jewish Daily, that the shop had temporarily decided not to sell to Jews, although the CEO denies this.

The foreign ministers of Germany, France and Italy have confirmed a rise in anti-Semitic protests and violents over the past few days over the conflicts in Gaza.” Read more.

By Johnlee Varghese, IBT – “The ISIS has claimed that they have seized a large Syrian military base on the outskirts of the city of Raqqa and have beheaded several captured soldiers.

The militants have released several images of captured soldiers being beheaded, following the clashes. The images have been posted on Twitter by the ISIS media cell members.

BBC, quoting Arabic correspondent Rami Ruhayem, stated that the Raqqa base clashes were a major offensive, which dismisses reports that the ISIS militants and Assad government were collaborating.

The Raqqa base, manned by Division 17 of the Syrian army, is said to have been captured by ISIS militants, following an overnight seige that began on Thursday.

It is, however, speculated in the Syrian media that the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) made a tactical retreat from the Raqqa base as most of the Syrian soldiers were able to escape the ISIS militants.

The SAA soldiers is said to have regrouped and, in the meantime, air raids are being carried out in the area.

Citing the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which is an anti-regime group, The Daily Star Lebanon said the ISIS began the attack with two suicide car bombs.” Read more.

And now Turkish troops will be accompanying a new jihad flotilla to Gaza. Will they attack Israeli troops?

‘Turkey to send another Freedom Flotilla to Gaza,’ Middle East Monitor, July 26, 2014:

The Turkish humanitarian relief organisation (IHH) is currently organising a “Freedom Flotilla II” which will carry humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, IHH chairman Bulent Yildrim said Thursday.

In statements to Gulf Online, Yildrim said that his organisation has embarked on legal procedures and paperwork required to obtain a permit for the trip. As soon as a final permit is issued, the IHH along with other international organisations will immediately set up the convoy.

The chairman of IHH, a major organiser of the Gaza Freedom Flotilla I, said that Turkish army troops will accompany the ships to protect it from any potential attack, pointing out that his organisation demanded the government to provide protection for them as Turkish citizens.

Maze Keheil, the president of the European Campaign for Lifting the Siege on Gaza, confirmed his campaign’s intention to take part in the new flotilla, as it did in first one in 2010.

Not necessarily for the ISIS Caliphate in Syria-Iraq, but for a Saudi-created Caliphate. But what if the Saudis, instead of creating their own, decided to support — either willingly or by force — the ISIS Caliphate instead? Or what if the Saudi’s simply declined Navdi’s generous offer? Either way, I’m sure al-Baghdadi, leader of the ISIS Caliphate, would be more than happy to take him up on it, something that Navdi would certainly consider given the fact that he has already “sent fawning greetings to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi” and even desires to see all Islamic terrorist organizations around the world unite as one global “Islamic Army.” Granted, this may get nowhere, but the fact that it’s even being seriously discussed speaks volumes regarding the degree to which such a virulent Islamist mentality has now metastasized throughout the Muslim world. And this should be a pressing concern for the rest of us …

By Hasan Suroor, FirstPost – “I’m not sure if the name Maulana Syed Salman Hussaini Nadvi will ring a bell in many places. My own first reaction when I heard it was ‘Nadvi, who?’

But apparently he is a big cheese in Islamic circles. An influential theologian and author of numerous scholarly tomes in Urdu and Arabic, Nadvi is Dean of the Faculty of Shariah at Darul Uloom Nadwa, Lucknow, whose reputation as a premier institution of Islamic teaching ranks in the same class as Darul Uloom, Deoband. He is also a member of the All-India Muslim Personal Law Board and Aligarh Muslim University’s court, its highest decision-making body.

So, what he says matters and carries weight. It is important to stress this because what he has done has shocked even conservative Muslims. Nadvi has written a long and passionate letter (in Arabic!) to the Saudi government offering to raise a militia of 500,000 Sunni Muslim Indian youth as his contribution to a ‘powerful global Islamic army’ he has proposed in order to fight Shia militants in Iraq and ‘help Muslims in need’ elsewhere. The army would become part of a Caliphate that he wants Saudis to set up for the Muslim ummah, the international Muslim community.

He also suggested that terrorists should not be referred to as terrorists as they were engaged in a ‘noble cause’ and called for a ‘confederation’ of all jihadi organisations so that they could transform themselves into a single ‘powerful global force’.

Earlier, Nadvi sent fawning greetings to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, leader of the notorious Sunni militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and self-appointed caliph of a sharia administration he has set up along Iraq-Syria border.

Nadvi is the only Asian theologian of to have recognised Bagdhadi’s ‘Caliphate’. But it is his offer of raising an Indian Muslim militia to fight on foreign lands which has caused a stir even in the normally complacent Muslim quarters as it comes amid mounting concern over the increasing radicalisation of young Indian Muslims who had far defied the global Islamisation trend.

Reports that four educated middle class Mumbai Muslim boys (two engineering students, one medical student, and a call centre worker) have fled the country to join jihadisfighting a vicious sectarian war in Iraq and Syria have deepened concerns about home-grown Muslim extremism and put the entire community under the scanner.” Read more.
