Terror: Christians In Mosul Flee After ISIS Caliphate Issues Ultimatum And Places Mark On All Christian Homes

Al Arabiya – “Christians have fled Iraq’s northern city of Mosul en masse before a Saturday deadline issued by the al-Qaeda-inspired Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) for them to either convert to Islam, pay tax, leave or be killed.

Al Arabiya correspondent in Iraq Majid Hamid said the deadline set by the jihadist group was 12 p.m. Iraqi time (10 a.m. GMT). Hamid reported that many Christians fled the city on Friday. It is not clear if any remained after the deadline.

Patriarch Louis Sako told AFP on Friday: ‘Christian families are on their way to Dohuk and Arbil,’ in the neighboring autonomous region of Kurdistan. ‘For the first time in the history of Iraq, Mosul is now empty of Christians,’ he said.

Witnesses said messages telling Christians to leave the city by Saturday were blared through loudspeakers from the city’s mosques Friday.

A statement dated from last week and purportedly issued by ISIS that took over the city and large swathes of Iraq during a sweeping offensive last month warned Mosul’s Christians they should convert, pay a special tax, leave or face death.

‘We were shocked by the distribution of a statement by the Islamic State calling on Christians to convert to Islam, or to pay unspecified tribute, or to leave their city and their homes taking only their clothes and no luggage, and that their homes would then belong to the Islamic State,’ Sako said.” Read more.

ISIS Caliphate To Christians: Convert To Islam, Pay Us For “Protection” … Or Die

According to Islam, the religiously-sanctioned extortion tax imposed upon Christians — called “jizya” — will one day come to an end, but it will not be abolished because Islam will suddenly have a change of heart and grant Christians equal status amongst Muslims. It will be abolished because at that time all Christians who refuse to convert to Islam will then be slaughtered for the glory of the magnificent and merciful “Allah.” After all, how can Muslims impose their “tax” upon Christians when the Islamic version of “Jesus” sees to it that no Christians are left to impose it upon? …

Hadith, AbuHurayrah Book 37, Number 4310, “Jesus … will descent (to the earth)… He will fight the people for the cause of Islam. He will break the cross, kill swine, and abolish jizyah. Allah will perish all religions except Islam.”

‘Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued’ (Qur’an 9:29).

Muhammad said: ‘Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war…When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them…. If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah’s help and fight them. (Sahih Muslim 4294.)

‘Convert, pay tax, or die, Islamic State warns Christians,’ Reuters, July 18, 2014:

BAGHDAD (Reuters) – Islamist insurgents have issued an ultimatum to northern Iraq’s dwindling Christian population to either convert to Islam, pay a religious levy or face death, according to a statement distributed in the militant-controlled city of Mosul.

The statement issued by the Islamic State, the al Qaeda offshoot which led last month’s lightning assault to capture swathes of north Iraq, and seen by Reuters, said the ruling would come into effect on Saturday.

It said Christians who wanted to remain in the “caliphate” that the Islamic State declared this month in parts of Iraq and Syria must agree to abide by terms of a “dhimma” contract – a historic practice under which non-Muslims were protected in Muslim lands in return for a special levy known as “jizya”.

“We offer them three choices: Islam; the dhimma contract – involving payment of jizya; if they refuse this they will have nothing but the sword,” the announcement said.

A resident of Mosul said the statement, issued in the name of the Islamic State in Iraq’s northern province of Nineveh, had been distributed on Thursday and read out in mosques.

It said Islamic State leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, which the group has now named Caliph Ibrahim, had set a Saturday deadline for Christians who did not want to stay and live under those terms to “leave the borders of the Islamic Caliphate”.

“After this date, there is nothing between us and them but the sword,” it said.

The Nineveh decree echoes one that the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant, the former name for the Islamic State, issued in the Syrian city of Raqqa in February, demanding that Christians pay the jizya levy in gold and curb displays of their faith in return for protection.

The concept of dhimma, governing non-Muslims living under Islamic rule, dates back to the early Islamic era in the seventh century, but was largely abolished during the Ottoman reforms of the mid-19th century.

Mosul, once home to diverse faiths, had a Christian population of around 100,000 a decade ago, but waves of attacks on Christians since the 2003 U.S.-led invasion to topple Saddam Hussein have seen those numbers collapse.

The resident of Mosul who saw the Islamic State announcement estimated the city’s Christian population before last month’s militant takeover at around 5,000. The vast bulk of those have since fled, leaving perhaps only 200 in the city, he said.

The Algemeiner – “The Washington Post‘s correspondents covering Israel’s Operation Protective Edge in Gaza reported that during Thursday’s five-hour humanitarian ceasefire, they saw men moving rockets into a mosque, a clear violation of international rules of war.

On Friday, buried toward’s the end of The Post’s dispatch from the front, the newspaper reported what one of its correspondents saw during the break in fighting:

“During the lull, a group of men at a mosque in northern Gaza said they had returned to clean up the green glass from windows shattered in the previous day’s bombardment. But they could be seen moving small rockets into the mosque.”

The Post‘s ‘buried lede’ was flagged by blogger Elder of Ziyon, who said, ‘Too bad we don’t know the name of this mosque.’

The blogger posted an IDF video from 2009′s Operation Cast Lead, ‘showing how Hamas hides weapons in mosques, schools and other civilian structures.’

According to international rules of military engagement, such civilian public and religious buildings are not to be used to shield weapons, but that has been a long-held Hamas tactic in Gaza.

On Thursday, UNRWA, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East, on Thursday said it discovered 20 rockets hidden in a vacant school it operated in Gaza.

By Yaakov Lappin, Jerusalem Post – “IDF ground forces began to move into the Gaza Strip on Thursday evening, the prime minister’s office confirmed.

The purpose of the operation was to destroy the Gazan terror tunnels leading to Israel, according to a statement released by the prime minister’s office.

‘Israel is committed to act to protect its citizens. The operation will continue until its goals are reached: To bring quiet to the citizens of Israel for a long period of time, and to seriously harm Hamas and other terrorist organizations’ infrastructure in the Gaza Strip,’ the statement read.

Prior to the commencement of the ground invasion, the IDF launched a massive wave of combined air and artillery strikes on Thursday night.

The ground invasion comes hours after a Hamas assault squad of thirteen highly armed terrorists attempted to carry out a massacre of civilians at Kibbutz Sufa, near the border, before being blocked by the IDF.

Infantry, Armored Corps, Engineering Corps, artillery, and intelligence units are taking over various areas in Gaza, and are all working with one another and the air force. They are operating in central, and southern Gaza, where Hamas has dug an extensive terrorist tunnel network.

The IDF’s Southern Command is overseeing the ground offensive.” Read more.

The terrorist group has bombed a marketplace and attacked churches.

In April 276 girls were kidnapped from a public school. Yesterday the Christian Post reported, ‘Although several of the schoolgirls have been able to escape their kidnappers, 219 still remain in captivity.'” Read more.

The Algemeiner – “As Hamas supporters are being called out on Twitter for posting photos of Syrian casualties from 2012 as victims of the Israeli Army in Gaza in 2014, Israel advocacy group StandWithUs on Tuesday posted a clip from Hollywood horror flick ‘The Final Destination 4′ that was used to create another fake that circulated widely on Facebook falsely depicting Israel killing civilians.

StandWithUs created a short clip of the scene from the movie to show how it was transposed into a screenshot used for Hamas propaganda.

In the scene, a group of young Americans are thrown into chaos when a projectile lands on an actress’s head.

The next shot, of the girl lying dead on the ground, with her head next to her, became a Hamas propaganda pic that was shared across social media. It was captioned, ‘Israeli Air Force kills children in Gaza – BBC,’ and translated into Russian, French and Arabic.” Read more.

Muslim Cleric: Islam Permits Killing American Women And Children

Because Islam “recognizes no distinction between regular armies and civilians” according to the words of a “prophet” they’ve made into a god and worship. One would think that all these educated clerics would be reading and memorizing the myriad of Qur’anic verses and Hadiths extolling the peaceful virtues of Islam that value equality and the lives of non-Muslims. Unfortunately, those verses and Hadiths don’t even exist …

Qur’an Sura 8:12, 55, “… terrorize and behead those who believe in scriptures other than the Qur’an … Surely the vilest of animals in Allah’s sight are those who disbelieve [non-Muslims] …”

Sudanese Cleric Al-Jazouli, 6/20/2014: “American taxpayers share the blame for the blood of every Iraqi child. Our Prophet Muhammad said that anyone who helps kill a Muslm man – even by uttering half a word – no longer enjoys protection. Libya: United Nations Withdraws Staff After Islamists Shell Tripoli Airport, Destroy 90% Of Planes

NBC News – “A militia shelled Tripoli airport, destroying 90 percent of planes parked there, a Libyan government spokesman said Tuesday as heavy fighting between armed groups prompted the United Nations to withdraw its staff. At least 15 people have been killed in clashes in Tripoli and the eastern city of Benghazi since Sunday, and a Libyan official said several Grad rockets hit the Tripoli International Airport on Monday, damaging the control tower.

Government spokesman Ahmed Lamine said 90 percent of the planes parked at the airport were destroyed. ‘Several planes and cars belonging to citizens were hit,’ said Abdel Rahman, a soldier in a unit protecting the airport. A hall used by customs controls had also been hit, he added. The U.N. mission in Libya said the closure of Tripoli airport and the deteriorating security situation made it impossible for it to operate. Three years after the fall of Moammar Gadhafi, Libya has slipped deeper into chaos with its weak government and new army unable to control brigades of former rebel fighters and militias who often battle for political and economic power.” Source – NBC News.

Niamh O’Donoghue, Independent – “A WOMAN lay on the bathroom floor for nine hours after being bludgeoned in the head with a kettle bell by her husband.

Lounes Ouachek (44) attempted to murder his wife Ruta (35) as their marriage had broken down after he lost his job and she started an engineering degree.

Mr Ouachek, who was a ‘devout Muslim’, ‘was unhappy about the path she was going on,’ a court heard after he pleaded guilty to attempted murder.

After he tried to kill his wife, Ouachek left the house on St Dominic’s Terrace in Tallaght, Dublin, and pulled the blinds. He drove his wife’s car to Dublin Airport and flew to Tunisia without telling anyone that she was injured.

Ms Ouachek, who is originally from Lithuania, was later found lying unconscious on the bathroom floor of her home after a neighbour, who collected her daughter from creche that evening, alerted gardai.

The Central Criminal Court heard that she was taken to Tallaght Hospital, where it was found that she had a complex fracture to the base of her skull. She was later transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

The head injury resulted in bruising to the right side of her brain, which affected motor function to her face and sensory problems in her left arm and fingers.

‘My life lacks stability and certainty. I have lost confidence in myself and the world,’ Ms Ouachek said in a victim-impact statement, which was read to the court on her behalf.

The couple arrived in Ireland in 2005 and married in 2011 in Algeria.” Read more.

Hamas And Islamic Jihad Know They’re Losing, Reportedly Offer 10-Year Truce With Israel

To my traditional dispensational brothers and sisters, don’t hold your breath for a seven-year peace deal any time soon because of what we read in Daniel 9:27. On the grounds of Scripture alone, that will likely never happen …

By Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch – “If this is true, it means that Hamas and Islamic Jihad know they’re losing. Islamic law stipulates that ‘if Muslims are weak, a truce may be made for ten years if necessary, for the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) made a truce with the Quraysh for that long, as is related by Abu Dawud’ (‘Umdat as-Salik, o9.16).

Note that this can only be done if ‘Muslims are weak.’ The same legal manual also quotes this verse of the Qur’an: ‘So do not be fainthearted and call for peace, when it is you who are the uppermost’ (Sura 47:35). So Hamas and Islamic Jihad would not be calling for a truce at all if they believed that they were in a position of strength. ‘Interests that justify making a truce are such things as Muslim weakness because of lack of numbers or materiel, or the hope of an enemy becoming Muslim . . .’ (‘Umdat as-Salik, o9.16).

The bottom line: Hamas and Islamic Jihad are feeling the heat and want a truce in order to regroup and emerge in a stronger position. But Western analysts do not know or care about what Islamic law says, and so they will think this means that these groups want peace, and press Israel to accept — when what it really means is that its enemies are weak, and know they’re losing, and Israel should press forward to victory.

‘Report: Terrorists Offer 10-Year Truce,’ Arutz Sheva, July 16, 2014:

Palestinian Arab sources reported Wednesday that Hamas and Islamic Jihad have drafted a ceasefire offer that would involve a 10-year truce with Israel.

The terrorists want all crossings into Gaza opened, and an international airport to be opened in Gaza. The Rafah crossing is to be opened up to international traffic, under UN supervision, with international observers along the borders.

There is no official confirmation of the offer and it is being greeted with skepticism, as more of a trial balloon than an actual offer.

Other articles in the alleged proposal include the withdrawal of IDF tanks from areas they entered in Operation Protective Edge; a complete removal of the blockade on Gaza; an international sea port; no more flights by Israeli aircraft over Palestinian territory and expansion of the fishing zone to 10 km from the shoreline.

In addition, the terrorists demand that Israel release the terror prisoners who were freed in the Shalit deal and re-arrested in Operation Brother’s Keeper.

Other terrorist conditions: Israel will be obliged not to interfere with the activity of the Palestinian unity government, and industrial zones along the border will be rebuilt and renovated.
