US: Obama Officially Recognizes Syrian Rebels, They’re ‘Reflective And Representative Enough Of The Syrian Population’

12/11/2012 4 comments

If the UN can reward Islamic terrorism by making the Palestinians an observer state, then why can’t Obama? The West once again willingly lies in bed with Islamic fundamentalism, and once again Obama has done nothing but embolden, encourage and empower one of the greatest destroyers of peace that the world has ever known. If he was perfectly satisfied with the “destroy-Western-civilization-from-within” Muslim Brotherhood takeover of Egypt, then why not also be perfectly satisfied with anti-American jihadists in Syria who would love nothing more than to see the complete downfall of freedom as we know it? This American President is either a devastatingly sad example of naivete in the world today, or one of the greatest political deceptions of our modern era …

By DEVIN DWYER ABC News – “In a diplomatic shift, President Obama said today his administration now formally recognizes the newly-formed, leading coalition of Syrian rebels who are fighting to topple Syria’s embattled President Bashar Assad.

‘We’ve made a decision that the Syrian Opposition Coalition is now inclusive enough, is reflective and representative enough of the Syrian population that we consider them the legitimate representative of the Syrian people in opposition to the Assad regime,’ Obama said.

The announcement, made during an exclusive interview with ABC News’ Barbara Walters, grants new legitimacy to the rebel group and marks a new phase in U.S. efforts to isolate the Assad regime.

‘It’s a big step,’ Obama said of the decision. The United States follows Britain and the European Union, both of which last month recognized the Syrian opposition group.

The diplomatic designation will allow the United States to more closely support rebel efforts, including the organization of a future post-Assad government, administration officials said.

‘Obviously, with that recognition comes responsibilities,’ Obama said of the young coalition. ‘To make sure that they organize themselves effectively, that they are representative of all the parties, [and] that they commit themselves to a political transition that respects women’s rights and minority rights.'” Read more.

Everyone in the region is either for or against Bashir al-Assad’s regime, it’s a bipolar world: Christians and Shia mostly for, Sunnis mostly against… ‘This is what they are like. One of the killers, the commander of the ‘Bara’ brigade, was found with a syringe full of diesel. He injected it into a man, a Christian, saying, ‘Die slowly, you Christian dog’.’” Read more.

Germany: Police Arrest Muslim Man Who Left Suspected Bomb At Bonn Train Station

The Local – “German security officials on Tuesday said one man had been arrested amid a police investigation into a Salafist terrorist connection to a suspected explosive device found at the Bonn train station.

Bild newspaper reported that it had inside information that school children had identified two Salafists known as terror suspects as those who had left the blue sports bag at platform one of the station on Monday.

And Focus magazine’s website said on Tuesday afternoon that one man had been arrested while making his way to his lawyer in Bonn. Security sources told the DPA newswire they expected the federal prosecutor and the federal criminal police to take over the case.

The police have not commented on either report, saying only that they were keeping a completely open mind as to who might have been responsible.

Bonn’s main train station was closed for much of Monday in the bomb scare, which saw explosives experts use a water cannon to smash it to bits.

Examination of the pieces showed the bag contained metal holders filled with powder which could have been explosive, although no detonator was found.

On Tuesday the police said they were conducting a state-wide search across North Rhine-Westphalia, but offered no details of who their targets might be. ‘We are completely open in our investigation,’ a spokesman said.” Read more.

Media critics and political opponents are quick to pounce. But that isn’t the only way to attract unwanted attention, as Jochen Hartloff, the interior minister of the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, found out this week. In an interview with the Berlin tabloid BZ, Hartloff said that Sharia law, in a ‘modern form,’ would be acceptable in Germany.” Read more.

More than 100 Salafist protesters were briefly arrested. The trouble in the western city of Bonn started late Saturday when hundreds of Muslims protested against the rally of about 30 supporters of the local far-right party Pro NRW, which has angered Muslims by showing unfavorable cartoons depicting Islam’s Prophet Muhammad. Strict Muslims oppose any depiction of their prophet. About 110 Salafist protesters were arrested after they started attacking security forces with stones and bottles, police said. Two of the injured police officers were hospitalized with serious wounds after being stabbed.” Read more.

Egypt: At Least 9 Anti-Morsi Protesters Shot In Tahrir Square While Obama Preps New F-16 Fighter Jets For Muslim Brotherhood

12/11/2012 2 comments

In the past, arming those who openly called for or even threatened to destroy Israel had been largely confined to rogue states and state sponsors of terror. But today it now looks like we can add Barack Obama to that list …

UPI – “The U.S. Embassy in Cairo said Tuesday that nine people were shot in Tahrir Square during protests against the Muslim Brotherhood.

A draft constitution has sparked outrage in post-revolution Egypt. A decision by Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi to extend his power during constitutional debate brought concerns about the growing influence of the Muslim Brotherhood, the movement from which he hails.

The U.S. Embassy in Cairo advised U.S. citizens in the country to avoid downtown Cairo amid heightened tensions.

‘At around 1:30 this morning, armed individuals fired into the area of the square where anti-MB protestors are staging a sit-in,’ a Tuesday statement from the embassy read. ‘Nine people were reportedly shot.’

U.N. rights officials have said some provisions in the draft constitution were cause for concern.

Human Rights Watch said it was frustrated by Morsi’s decision to give the military the power to arrest civilians.” Read more.

Obama To Start Sending US F-16 Fighter Jets To Egypt – On Israel’s Election-Day – ” The Obama administration took a careful look at the political calendar before announcing that the first four F-16 fighter planes – of the 20 approved in a $1 billion US foreign aid package to Egypt – would be delivered Jan. 22. The announcement came Tuesday, Dec. 11, as Cairo and other Egyptian towns were set for massive rival demonstrations for and against President Mohamed Morsi’s decision to hold a referendum on a pro-Islamist constitution Saturday. It therefore came in for rising criticism in Washington of the wisdom of sending the jets to an unstable Egypt in the grip of a strong political confrontation.” Read more.

Last month the Muslim Brotherhood had apparently come to the conclusion that it was Halal to extort the United States by threatening, for all intents and purposes, to wage war against Israel if America cut off aid to Egypt. Now they’re threatening to reject it all together, and all this while making it loud and clear that Egypt will ‘never be the friend, partner or ally of the Zionist entity’ …” Read more.

Analysts Believe Mideast War To Erupt Soon As Hamas Rearms With Iranian Weapons, Threatens Israelis And Americans

12/10/2012 2 comments

By Eliot Elwar, Digital Journal – “The war of words continues as Netanyahu accuses Hamas of calling for Israel’s destruction, while Hamas TV reveals death threats to Israelis and Americans. Iran promises more weapons to its terror groups. Analysts believe a Mideast war could erupt soon.

While last month’s deadly conflict between Israel and Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip may be over, the war of words continues. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blasted the Islamic militant group Hamas when accusing its leader of calling for Israel’s destruction at a mass rally recently in Gaza. When he was speaking at the weekly Cabinet meeting in Jerusalem, Netanyahu declared Israel’s Palestinian enemies have demonstrated once again that they are not interested in compromise, according to Voice of America.

The new Hamas-Fatah unity reveals the Palestinian Authority’s failure to live up to its pledges to stop incitement. Abbas’ unity with Hamas now unmasks his image of a ‘peace partner’ by binding him as a partner in Hamas’ stated goal of killing Jews and destroying Israel. Hamas TV broadcast a few days ago a speech by a Muslim cleric who preached, ‘Our mantle is death to the Jews and to America,’ according to Israel National News.

Hamas plans to continue arming itself and an Iranian official has indicated that the Islamic republic intends to continue providing the Palestinian group with weapons. Hamas’ deputy chief Moussa Abu Marzouk declared that while the cease-fire with Israel and its decision to ease the Gaza border blockade was based on Hamas’ willingness disarm itself, that will never happen. Marzouk stated that Hamas wants the weapons to protect itself and will not stop obtaining and manufacturing them. An Iranian diplomat made similar expressions when saying such arms shipments will continue and Iran will help ensure that Hamas remains close to the Islamic republic, according World Net Daily.” Source – Digital Journal.

Former Top Syrian General: Assad Will Use Chemical Weapons, Lists VX Nerve Agent As Part Of Arsenal

12/10/2012 Leave a comment

If you thought sarin was deadly, watch the video below to get an idea of the truly hellish nature of the most toxic nerve agent ever synthesized: VX …

By ALEXANDER MARQUARDT, ABC News – “A former top general in Syria’s chemical weapons program says he doesn’t doubt for a moment that President Bashar al-Assad will deploy his chemical weapons arsenal as he tries to hold onto power and crush the uprising that started almost two years ago.

‘The regime started to fall and deteriorate. It’s coming to its end,’ said retired Major General Adnan Sillou in an interview in a hotel near Antakya, on Turkey’s southern border with Syria. ‘It’s highly possible that he’ll start using [chemical weapons] to kill his own people because this regime is a killer.’

Sillou told ABC News that until September 2008, he was chief of staff on the defensive side of the chemical weapons program. He said he was in charge of training soldiers against attacks and contact with the weapons, as well as procuring safety equipment to guard against them.

He listed mustard gas along with the sarin, VX and tabun nerve agents as the main elements in Syria’s chemical arsenal, whose existence Syria doesn’t even acknowledge. Foreign intelligence officials and analysts have focused on the first three as the main threats, and last week U.S. officials said there was evidence sarin had not only been moved, but its binary components, usually stored separately, had been combined and placed into bombs for use.

Sillou accuses Assad’s forces of already spraying pesticides and dropping white phosphorous, claims also made by opposition activists.

‘They’re idiots, crazy. Simply they are killers,’ he said.

Sillou believes the regime could step it up to more serious chemical weapons if Aleppo, Syria’s most populous city where fighting has raged for months, falls to the rebels.” Read more.

Syria: Islamist Rebels Using Children To Behead Defenseless Civilians

12/10/2012 1 comment

That fact that it has now become second-nature to wonder — and would be no surprise to discover — if any of those being beheaded were yet again Christians is in and of itself a sobering reminder of the prophetic times in which we live …

ABNA – “The Syrian website al-Haqiqa posted a video which is the most horrific of all videos released so far about the Syrian crisis.

The tragic incident has reportedly happened in an area located between Talbisiyeh and Rastan towns in the Western Homs province

The video shows a group of Takfiri armed rebels affiliated to the so-called Free Syrian Army (FSA) who call themselves Khaled bin Walid Battalion and use children for beheading abducted citizens.

The video showed the terrorists bringing down the heads of the people on a piece of stone and beheaded them by using a machete.

The video appeared on the facebook page of Khaled bin Walid which is run by Qassem Sadeddin, a defected Syrian Air Force colonel.

After the outbreak of the Syrian crisis in March 2011, some reactionary Arab states and their allies ushered in shameless efforts to strike a blow on the Middle East’s resistance axis and topple the Damascus government.

Moreover, a new al-Qaeda was formed with the support of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the western countries, specially the US, in Syria.

The above countries recruit the Salafis from different countries such as Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Libya, Europe, even Afghanistan and some Central Asian countries, train them in Libya and Turkey, and eventually send them to Syria to fight President Bashar al-Assad’s government.

Terrorists have tried hard in the last several days to Read more…

Muslim Persecution Of Christians: October, 2012

12/09/2012 2 comments

Matthew 10:22, “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.”

By Raymond Ibrahim, Gatestone Institute – “These reports of the persecution of Christians by Muslims around the world during the month of October include (but are not limited to) the following accounts, listed by form of persecution, and by country, in alphabetical order—not according to severity.

Church Attacks

Canada: As happens regularly in Egypt (see below), a Molotov cocktail was hurled through the window of a newly opened Coptic church near Toronto. Unlike in Egypt, however, firefighters came quickly and little damage was done: ‘Police have no suspects or motive in the incident.’

Egypt: A Muslim mob, consisting mostly of Salafis, surrounded St. George Church in the Beni Suef Governorate. Armed with batons, they assaulted Christians as they exited the church after Sunday mass; five were hospitalized with broken limbs. The Salafi grievance is that Christians from neighboring villages, who have no churches to serve them, are traveling and attending St. George. The priest could not leave the church for hours after the mass, even though he contacted the police; they came only after a prominent Coptic lawyer complained to the Ministry of the Interior concerning the lack of response from police. ‘I want the whole world to know,’ he said, ‘that a priest and his congregation are presently held captive in their church, afraid of the Salafi Muslims surrounding the church.’ Separately, a group of Muslims, led by Mostafa Kamel, a prosecutor at the Alexandria Criminal Court, broke into the Church of St. Mary in Rashid near Alexandria and proceeded to destroy its altar, on claims that he bought the 9th century church; in fact it had earlier been sold to the Copts by the Greeks, due to the Greeks’ dwindling numbers in Egypt. Two priests, Fr. Maximos and Fr. Luke, rushed to the police station to try to bring the police to help. Kamel and his two sons also came to the police station, where they openly threatened to kill the two priests and their lawyer. ‘We stayed at the police station for over six hours with the police,’ Fr. Maximos said, ‘begging prosecutor Kamel and his two sons not to demolish the church.’ Fr. Luke said that the prosecutor had so far lost all the cases he brought against the church, ‘So when this route failed, he tried taking the matter into his own hands.’

Indonesia: On a Sunday, ‘unknown assailants’ set fire to the Madele Pentecostal Church in the city of Poso by dousing a collection box with petrol and setting it alight. Flames eventually spread to the pastor’s residence. Only the intervention of the fire department and volunteers prevented the blaze from causing major damage to the two buildings. Weeks earlier in the same region, Christian homes were attacked and bombed. Also, two law enforcement agents who were investigating a recent attack on the Christian community were kidnapped; their murdered bodies were later found dumped near an ‘extremist Muslim’ group’s training ground. Because Poso has a large Christian presence, Muslim attacks are frequent, including the Read more…

Syrian Islamist Rebels To Christians: Prepare To Die If You Refuse To Convert To Islam Or Pay The ‘Jizyah’

12/09/2012 2 comments

Am I hearing an echo? The words of these Islamist rebels in Syria sound an awful lot like the words of Egypt’s Islamist President, the Muslim Brotherhood’s own Mohammed Morsi …

By Tim Marshall, Sky News – “To the soundtrack of multiple rocket launchers and small arms fire, I met six men who the Syrian authorities told us were jihadist rebel fighters captured by the army.

We were in a Ministry of Interior prison near Damascus in an area now close to the front lines.

The men, four Syrian, an Iraqi, and a Turk, said they had indeed been in the jihadist movement fighting President Assad’s forces, but now renounced the armed struggle even though they continued to espouse Salafist ideology. All are awaiting court appearances…

The Syrian authorities are keen to promote the view that they are fighting an al Qaeda type force which partially explains why, after much pushing, we were allowed rare access into the jail.

Mahmoud al Ahab, who described himself as a Palestinian Syrian, told me he was in the al Nusra Front which he said was an al Qaeda group. He had sworn an oath of allegiance to al Nursa but now felt this was a mistake.

Ahmed al Rabido, a 48-year-old Syrian, said he was a religious leader, a Mufti, in the Free Syrian Army.

‘I joined because I wanted to demolish the secular state… I don’t believe in this anymore because the country is being ruined,’ he said…

This led to a question about the future of Syria’s minorities such as the Christians. Ahmed, Basah, and Hamid Hassan all agreed – Christians could only live there if they either converted, or paid the ‘Jizyah’ – a special tax levied on non-Muslims in previous centuries in the Middle East. If not said Bahar, they could be killed.

When asked why, the answer was, to them, quite simple – because the Prophet Mohammed said so. I was then invited to become a Muslim.

The conversation verged on the surreal. There we were talking in a quite friendly manner, with the occasional joke, about killing people because they wouldn’t pay the Jizyah, which critics regard as effectively obtaining money through menaces.

The interview ended with Ahmed volunteering that eventually Muslims must reclaim Andalucia in Spain for the Islamic Caliphate.” Read more.

Lebanon: Four Killed In Tripoli Fighting Between Gunmen Loyal To Opposing Sides In Syria Civil War

12/09/2012 Leave a comment

BEIRUT – Lebanon’s official news agency says four people have been killed in fighting in the Lebanese city of Tripoli between gunmen loyal to opposite sides in Syria’s civil war.

The state-run National News Agency says 12 others were wounded in the clashes Sunday. Tripoli has been the scene of frequent sectarian clashes during the Syria civil war.

The fighting has sometimes spilled across Syria’s borders, raising concerns of a regional war.

Last week the Lebanese army sent additional troops to Tripoli to try to prevent clashes that followed reports of 17 Lebanese men killed after entering Syria to fight alongside the mostly Sunni rebels. The Syrian rebels are trying to topple President Bashar Assad, whose regime is dominated by Alawites, an offshoot Shiite group.

Tripoli has sizeable Sunni and Alawite communities.” Source – Montreal Gazette.

Flashback: Hezbollah Considering Military Coup If Assad Falls – “Hezbollah’s leadership is considering the possibility of taking control of Beirut and effectively carrying out a military coup in Lebanon should the current Syrian regime fall, the al-Arabia network reported Tuesday. According to the report, Hezbollah members have expressed concerns over the escalation of the civil uprising in Syria, which could lead to the fall of Bashar Assad’s regime. The Syrian president is an ally of the Lebanese Shiite group. Sources close to Hezbollah noted that it was due to those concerns that the Hezbollah leadership was examining various scenarios – including a ‘broad maneuver on the ground,’ similar to the takeover of Beirut in May 2008. However, the current plans apparently include a much more extensive maneuver which may expand to a military coup. ‘As soon as Hezbollah will sense that the collapse of Assad’s regime is imminent, armed cells will quickly begin operating to seize control of Beirut’s eastern and western parts,’ one of the sources told al-Arabia.”Read more.

‘Too Little, Too Late’: Egypt’s Morsi Steps Back Presidential Decree, Forges Ahead With Islamist Constitution Referendum

12/09/2012 Leave a comment

By Chana Ya’ar, INN – “Too little, too late: Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi backed down on Saturday and annulled a controversial decree raising his authority above that of the judiciary, but demonstrators are threatening to continue their protests. Security forces have moved into place, and it appears that more clashes between rulers and ruled in Cairo are likely, despite similar scenes barely two years ago.

The decree, issued last month, enraged the populace and prompted judges and prosecutors to strike for days. Cairo’s iconic Tahrir Square, where Egypt’s January 25 Revolution swelled in 2011 to topple former President Hosni Mubarak from his decades-long regime, again was packed with protesters who clashed with police for days.

But Morsi’s decision to reverse the decree, reached over the weekend, wasn’t enough, offering ‘nothing new’ and appearing to be ‘an attempt to dodge’ opposition demands,’ Popular Current spokeswoman Heba Yassin told Bloomberg News.

The groundswell of roaring opposition that grew over the past month vowed to keep up the pressure against a draft Constitution Morsi had also rammed through.

‘We have broken the barrier of fear,’ tweeted Mohamed ElBaradei, newly elected opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate on his account on the Twitter social networking website. ‘A constitution that aborts our rights and freedoms is a constitution that we will topple today.’

The draft document, written by an Islamist committee, allegedly infringes on general freedoms, and fails to protect the rights of women and minorities. The National Assembly committee that authored the draft was boycotted by secular, liberal and Coptic Christian lawmakers.” Read more.

More Egypt Protests Called After Morsi Cancellation Falls Short – “Egypt’s liberal opposition has called for more protests on Sunday after the president made concessions overnight that fell short of their demands to rescind a draft constitution going to a referendum on Dec. 15. Morsi met one of the opposition’s demands overnight, rescinding his Nov. 22 decrees that gave him near unrestricted powers. But he insisted on going ahead with the referendum on a constitution adopted by his Islamist allies. The opposition National Salvation Front called on supporters to rally Sunday against the referendum.” Source – Breitbart.

An Ode To ‘Islamic Truth’: Brutally Honest Salafists Don’t Hesitate To Declare Their Intent Against Christians And ‘Moderates’

12/08/2012 3 comments

By Raymond Ibrahim, Frontpage Mag – “Inasmuch as Salafis are vile and violent, so too must they be credited with being refreshingly frank and honest, especially in comparison with the ‘moderate’—that is, mendacious—Muslim Brotherhood.

To understand this, one must first understand that Salafis are simply modern day Muslims who closely pattern themselves after the very earliest Muslims, specifically those generations that coincided with Islam’s so-called ‘Golden Age,’ beginning with Muhammad’s rule, followed by the first four ‘righteous caliphs,’ circa. 622-656.1

Along with the Quran, Salafis slavishly follow the hadith accounts—the many words and deeds of Muhammad as well as his closest companions.  In other words, they espouse the mentality of 7th century Arab jihadis and usurpers.

Whereas a few decades ago, knowledge of the word salafi was limited to Muslim scholars and theologians—the so-called ulema, literally, ‘they who know’—today, millions of Muslims identify with Salafism.  Similarly, although the word was popularized in Egypt, where the Salafi party won the most votes second to the Muslim Brotherhood, many Muslims, past and present, have conformed to its identity, though under different epithets; for example, Saudi Arabia’s ‘Wahabbis’ and al-Qaeda are Salafis.

The one saving grace of Salafis, that serves non-Muslims who wish to learn the truth concerning Islamic law and teachings, is that they are immensely proud of their Islamic heritage—as one would have to be to meticulously uphold the practices of 7th century desert people.  Like the earliest Muslim conquerors drunk with power and pride, convinced that Allah was on their side and they can do no wrong, today’s Salafis are unabashed when it comes to the things of Islam—from evoking them to upholding them.

Unsurprisingly, then, it is Salafi-minded Muslims who routinely evoke and uphold any number of things deemed absurd or evil in a Western context—from trying to enforce a canonical hadith that compels women to breastfeed adult men (ironically, to protect their ‘chastity’) to drinking camel urine for good health, to calling for the destruction of all churches.  In all cases, Muhammad said so.

While examples are legion, consider this poetic ode to the importance of truth in Islam—in the context of disavowing Christians and Read more…

Cruel Master Rising: Muslim Brotherhood Torture Chambers Revealed, ‘Salafi Police’ Patrol Streets Enforcing Sharia Law

12/08/2012 1 comment

Still satisfied with that Muslim Brotherhood win, Mr. Obama? …

By Mohamad Jarehi, Al-Masry Al-Youm – “Al-Masry Al-Youm spent three hours in total in the torture chambers established by the Muslim Brotherhood at the gates of the Ittihadiya Palace in the suburb of Heliopolis. The central torture chamber, which is located in front of the gate facing the Omar Ibn Abdel Aziz Mosque on al-Merghany Street, is secured with a cordon and iron barriers, where the Central Security Forces (CSF) prevent the access of any persons without the authorization of the Brotherhood.

We entered the chamber with a great difficulty, after a fellow journalist from the Misr 25 TV channel facilitated. The channel is owned by the Brotherhood. There are brigades and police officers in military uniforms, as well as others in civilian clothes from al-Nozha police station, who oversee the beatings, whippings and torture. Fifteen others from the group, distinguished by their strong bodies, are supervised by three bearded and well-dressed men who decide who will be in the chamber and who may leave, even if the person is a member of the Brotherhood.

The torture process starts once a demonstrator who opposes President Mohammed Morsi is arrested in the clashes or is suspected after the clashes end, and the CSF separate Morsi’s supporters from his opponents. Then, the group members trade off punching, kicking and beating him with a stick on the face and all over his body. They tear off his clothes and take him to the nearest secondary torture chamber, from which CSF personnel, members of the Interior Ministry and the State Security Investigations Services (SSIS) are absent.

It is hard to determine how many locations there are, given that the torture chambers are established as near as possible to where a person is arrested. Before the interrogation process starts, they search him, seize his funds, cellphones or ID, all the while punching and slapping his face in order to get him to confess to being a thug and working for money.” Read more.
