By DPA – “Some 140 countries support a United Nations General Assembly resolution recognizing Palestine, a senior Palestinian official said Sunday.

‘Around 140 countries would vote in favor of an independent state of Palestine during the United Nations General Assembly meetings due to start on September 23,’ Nabil Shaath, a senior negotiator, told a news conference in Ramallah.

He said his estimated number was the result of marathon visits by Palestinian leaders across the globe over the past months.

‘Many Palestinian leaders and officials (including Shaath) went on separate tours and visits to convince the world’s countries to recognize the Palestinian state on the territories occupied by Israel in 1967,’ said Shaath.” Read more.

Israel defense officials: IDF fully prepared to cope with mass Palestinian protests – “Senior Israeli defense establishment officials told U.S. diplomats last year that they were concerned about the Israel Defense Forces’ ability to deal with nonviolent protests on the part of the Palestinians, according to documents published this weekend on the WikiLeaks website… Following the WikiLeaks publications, sources at the Central Command said the statements made to the U.S. diplomats were no longer relevant, and that the IDF was now well prepared to cope with mass demonstrations in the West Bank after the UN vote.” Read more.

If the Islamist rebel’s prophet Mohammed was prejudiced against black people and treated them like animals, then it is only reasonable to expect that black Africans in Libya could be treated with similar disdain …

By BEN HUBBARD – “TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) — Rebel forces and armed civilians are rounding up thousands of black Libyans and migrants from sub-Sahara Africa, accusing them of fighting for ousted strongman Moammar Gadhafi and holding them in makeshift jails across the capital.

Virtually all of the detainees say they are innocent migrant workers, and in most cases there is no evidence that they are lying. But that is not stopping the rebels from placing the men in facilities like the Gate of the Sea sports club, where about 200 detainees — all black — clustered on a soccer field this week, bunching against a high wall to avoid the scorching sun.

Handling the prisoners is one of the first major tests for the rebel leaders, who are scrambling to set up a government that they promise will respect human rights and international norms, unlike the dictatorship they overthrew.

The rebels’ National Transitional Council has called on fighters not to abuse prisoners and says those accused of crimes will receive fair trials. There has been little credible evidence of rebels killing or systematically abusing captives during the six-month conflict. Still, the African Union and Amnesty International have protested the treatment of blacks inside Libya, saying there is a potential for serious abuse.” Read more.

Mohammed the Racist  – “Did [Mohammed] own black slaves? This question is very important for black Americans because they have been conned by Farakhan and other black Muslims into thinking that Mohammed was a black man and Islam is the black man’s religion. But if it can be shown that Mohammed was a white man, that he was a racist, that he had prejudicial attitudes against black people, and that he was a slave owner of black slaves, then Islam will lose all respect in the black community. What is the truth? Mohammed was a white man. There can be no doubt of this because the Sahih Bukhari Hadith states this plain and simple. Since Bukhari is accepted by all Muslims as the greatest of all Hadith Scholars. His work is entitled ‘Sahih’ which means that it is absolutely authentic. In Hadith 63, vol. 1, when a man arrived at the mosque, he asked, ‘Who amongst you is Mohammed?’ The companions of the prophet replied: ‘This white man reclining on his arm’ … Mohammed was a slave owner of black slaves. In Hadith no. 436, vol. 6 when Umar came to visit Mohammed, he saw ‘a black slave of Allah’s apostle setting on the first step.’ Lest some Muslim fool claim that Mohammed had only one black slave, we will quote from ‘Ibn Qayyim Aljawiyya’ a great historian. In his famous book Zad al-Ma’ad (part 1, pg. 160 and pgs. 114-116) we read: [Mohammed had many male and female slaves. He used to buy and sell them, but he purchased more slaves than he sold, especially after God empowered him by His message, as well as after his immigration from Mecca. He once sold one black slave for two… ” Read more.

Matthew 24:15-16,21, “So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of through the prophet Daniel — let the reader understand — then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains… For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now — and never to be equaled again.”

“The Israeli army has been busy training local security teams in the Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria (Jewish settlements) for a possible onslaught of violent Palestinian demonstrators.

Israel fears that following the Palestinian Authority’s September 20 bid at the United Nations to secure recognition of a sovereign Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria (the so-called ‘West Bank’), Palestinian mobs will march on any Jews they see as ‘invaders’ in that new state.

In fact, that is precisely what Palestinian leaders are telling the public to do.

‘The appeal to the UN is a battle for all Palestinians, and in order to succeed, it needs millions to pour into streets,’ Palestinian official Yasser Abed Rabbo told the Associated Press following a Palestinian Authority vote endorsing a mass protest march on Israel.

Rabbo and other Palestinian leaders insist the protests will be peaceful, but Israeli officials noted that more often than not the Palestinians’ definition of ‘peaceful’ does not match Israel’s.

And even if the intention truly was for a peaceful march, the Israelis say that having tens or hundreds of thousands of Palestinians march on Israeli civilian neighborhoods is a situation that can quickly spiral out of control.

While Jerusalem is certain to be a primary target of such a march, it is pretty heavily barricaded from the north and east, the directions from which the Palestinian protestors would be coming.

But the Jewish settlements make much softer targets.” Read more.

Race to douse a new Mideast flash point; American campaign seeks to avert clash over Palestinian bid at U.N. – “The Obama administration has begun a last-ditch diplomatic campaign to avert a confrontation this month over a Palestinian plan to seek recognition as a state at the United Nations, but it may already be too late, according to senior American officials and foreign diplomats. The administration has circulated a proposal intended to be the basis of renewed peace talks with the Israelis – based on a formula that President Barack Obama outlined in May – in hopes of persuading the Palestinian president, Mahmoud Abbas, to abandon the bid for recognition at the annual gathering of the U.N. General Assembly beginning Sept. 20. The administration has privately made it clear to Mr. Abbas that it will veto any request that comes before the U.N. Security Council to make a Palestinian state a new member outright. But the United States alone does not have enough support to block a vote by the General Assembly to elevate the current status of the Palestinians’ nonvoting observer ‘entity’ to that of an nonvoting observer state.” Read more.

By Barak Ravid – “The Turkish navy will significantly strengthen its presence in the eastern Mediterranean Sea as one of the steps the Turkish government has decided to take following the release of the UN Palmer report on the 2010 Gaza flotilla, Turkish officials told the Hurriyet Daily News.

‘The eastern Mediterranean will no longer be a place where Israeli naval forces can freely exercise their bullying practices against civilian vessels,’ a Turkish official was quoted as saying.

As part of the plan, the Turkish navy will increase its patrols in the eastern Mediterranean and pursue ‘a more aggressive strategy’.

According to the report, Turkish naval vessels will accompany civilian ships carrying aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.” Read more.

Turkey: Israel No Longer A ‘Friend’, ‘It’s Time For Israel To Pay The Price’, Israeli Ambassador and Diplomats Expelled – “Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu announced on Friday that following Jerusalem’s adamant refusal to apologize over the 2010 Gaza flotilla raid, Ankara will be downgrading its diplomatic relations with Israel and suspending key military agreements. In a dramatic turn of events, Turkey announced that it was expelling Israeli Ambassador Gabby Levy from Ankara. Davutoglu said Turkey’s diplomatic representation in Israel would be further reduced to second-secretary level. In accordance, all lower Israeli diplomatic personnel above the second-secretary level have also been expelled.” Read more.

Hamas praises Turkey for downgrading ties with Israel – “Hamas on Friday issued a statement supporting Turkey’s downgrading of ties with Israel in response to Jerusalem’s refusal to apologize for the raid of the Mavi Marmara. ‘Hamas movement welcomes the Turkish step and the dismissal of the Israeli ambassador in Turkey and sees it as a natural response to the Israeli crime committed against the Freedom flotilla and the occupation’s insistence to continue its blockade on Gaza,’ Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri said.” Source.

Israel Unfazed by Turkey’s Moves: We Will Not Apologize – “Despite Turkey’s downgrade of its ties with Israel, Jerusalem remained unfazed on Friday, with officials once again clarifying that Israel has no intention of apologizing for the Mavi Marmara incident. Referring to the publication of the Palmer Report on the events of the 2010 IHH flotilla, Israeli officials said that while Israel regrets the loss of lives on the Marmara, it will not apologize for defending itself. ‘Israel, just like any other country, has the legitimate right to defend its citizens and soldiers,’ the officials said.” Read more.

By GEORGE JAHN – “VIENNA (AP) — The U.N. nuclear agency said Friday it is ‘increasingly concerned’ about a stream of intelligence suggesting that Iran continues to work secretly on developing a nuclear payload for a missile and other components of a nuclear weapons program.

In its report, the International Atomic Energy Agency said ‘many member states’ are providing evidence for that assessment, describing the information it is receiving as credible, ‘extensive and comprehensive.’

The restricted 9-page report was made available Friday to The Associated Press, shortly after being shared internally with the 35 IAEA member nations and the U.N. Security Council. It also said Tehran has fulfilled a pledged made earlier this year and started installing equipment to enrich uranium at a new location – an underground bunker that is better protected from air attack than its present enrichment facilities.

Enrichment can produce both nuclear fuel and fissile warhead material, and Tehran – which says it wants only to produce fuel with the technology – is under four sets of U.N. Security Council sanctions for refusing to freeze enrichment, which it says it needs for fuel only.

It also denies secretly experimenting with a nuclear weapons program and has blocked a four-year attempt by the IAEA to follow up on intelligence that it secretly designed blueprints linked to a nuclear payload on a missile, experimented with exploding a nuclear charge, and conducted work on other components of a weapons program.” Read more.

Ahmadinejad: Iran is Determined to Eradicate the ‘Infectious Tumor’ of Israel, ‘Will Never Withdraw’ From This Policy – “Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that Iran was determined to eradicate Israel, ISNA news agency reported Thursday. ‘Iran believes that whoever is for humanity should also be for eradicating the Zionist regime (Israel) as symbol of suppression and discrimination,’ Ahmadinejad said in an interview with a Lebanese television network, carried by ISNA.” Read more.

“Baghdad, 2 Sept. (AKI) – More than 12,000 civilians and some 200 coalition soldiers died in suicide attacks in Iraq between 2003 and 2010, according to a report in medical journal The Lancet.

The paper by London-based Iraq Body Count and others highlights the much higher impact suicide bombings had on civilians than foreign troops following the American invasion of Iraq backed by some allies.

In excess of 30,000 Iraqi civilians were injured by suicide bombs between 20 20 March 2003 and 31 December 2010, and 12,284 Iraqi civilians were killed in more than 1,000 suicide bombings. These amounted to around 10 percent of 108.624 civilian deaths and 25 percent of civilian injuries from armed violence in that period.

Of the 200 troops killed in suicide attacks, 175 were American, the report said.

The report was part of a Lancet series on the health effects of the 11 September terrorist attacks.” Source.

Hurriet Daily News: With 10 Million Muslims Killed Since 1948 at the Hands of Fellow Muslims, Golda Meir Was Right – “It has been more than two and a half years since Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told to Israeli President Shimon Peres’s face, ‘You (Jews) know well how to kill.’ Prime Minister Erdoğan has also declared more than a few times that the main obstacle to peace in this part of the world is Israel, once calling the Jewish state ‘a festering boil in the Middle East that spreads hate and enmity.’… In a 2007 research, Gunnar Heinsohn from the University of Bremen and Daniel Pipes, director of the Middle East Forum, found out that some 11 million Muslims have been violently killed since 1948, of which 35,000, (0.3 percent) died during the six years of Arab war against Israel, or one out of every 315 fatalities. In contrast, over 90 percent who perished were killed by fellow Muslims.” Read more.

Syria: Hundreds killed during Ramadan crackdown – “At least 473 Syrians were killed during protests against the Assad regime during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, human rights campaigners said Wednesday. The death toll of 360 civilians included 25 children and 14 women, said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. It said 113 members of government forces were also killed during the month, which has just ended.” Read more.

By Gavriel Queenann – “According to reports, Hizbullah is founding a Cuba-based terror cell to seek vengeance on Israel for the 2008 death of Imad Mughniyah.

Mughniyeh, a senior commander and head of Hizbullah’s security section, was killed when a car bomb he was passing in the Kfar Suseh neighborhood in Damascus, Syria detonated. Hizbullah has long alleged Israel was behind the attack and has sworn it would avenge him.

To this end, Hizbullah has reportedly established a center of operations in Cuba, thereby expanding its foothold in the region while hoping to facilitate an attack on an Israeli target in South America, Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported.

According to the paper, three HIzbullah members have already arrived in Cuba with the purpose of establishing the terrorist cell. It is to include 23 operatives, hand-picked by Talal Hamia, a senior member tasked with heading the covert operation.

The operation, titled ‘The Caribbean Case,’ was reportedly allocated a budget of $1.5 million. The Cuba base is to be initially used for logistics purposes, including intelligence collection, networking and document forgery.

Hizbullah has been active in South America for quite some time, primarily in Paraguay, Brazil and Venezuela.” Read more.
