Syria: Islamists Attacking Christian Children, Schools In An Effort To Rid Country Of Christianity

By Elisa Pinna, ANSAmed – “A young Syrian Christian MP has accused rebel forces of targeting children and schools in government-held areas, especially ones with a Christian-majority population.

Some 11,000 children have already died in the conflict, but the Syrian deputy Maria Saadeh – in Rome to meet with Pope Francis and raise awareness in the West about ‘what is really happening in Syria’ – said they have now become a target for Al-Qaeda-linked and jihadist groups fighting to overthrow the Damascus regime. ‘There have been five attacks alone on Christian schools over the past few days, injuring and killing children,’ she said, claiming that it is a strategy ‘to get Christians – who are secular and moderate – to flee the country.’ Some 450,000 of the just over two million Christians in Syria have left the country. Saadeh blames the media for the slanted take on what happens in Syria. ‘It is not a war against the regime, as the international media has long portrayed it to be, but a war to destroy the Syrian State by a group of extremists and criminals controlled by foreign powers,’ she said. The deputy did not want to identify with the regime, but said that the top priority right now is to defend the State. ‘If the Syrian State collapses, it will mean the total disintegration of the country,’ leaving 23 million citizens without wages, pensions, schools or healthcare in the hands of Al Qaeda-linked groups that are dreaming of a ‘Sunni caliphate’. Saadeh said that the rebels are destroying ‘the country’s administrative facilities, factories, agro-food system, and archeological sites.’ ‘How can the West think that the killings, the car bombs, the attacks on civilians and the beheadings,’ she asked, ‘are synonymous with democracy?'” Read more.

450,000 Christians Flee Muslim Violence In The Central African Republic

This has been a reoccurring theme as of late …

Acts 14:22, “… continue in the faith … we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”

AINA – “The United Nations is demanding immediate support for the Central African Republic (CAR) during a very difficult period. Apparently over 450,000 people have fled their homes after the Muslim dominated Seleka took power and began persecuting Christians irrespective of the alleged government of national unity during the transitional period. Not surprisingly, Christians are trying to protect themselves against Muslim forces within Seleka which are clearly out of control. Therefore, bloodletting is sowing the seeds of distrust and clearly the international community needs to do something before the crisis reaches a point of no return.

Unlike Christian communities in Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, and in other nations, whereby various sects are persecuted, it is clear that in the CAR — just like in South Sudan — that Christians will not just sit back and wait to be slaughtered or become trapped in ghettoes. It is hoped that the international community will be fair in pointing out the real factors behind communal violence. After all, it is clear that religious tensions erupted after Seleka troops began to ransack Christian areas. However, the same media which always points out the ‘Buddhist’ angle in Myanmar (more Christians have been killed in Myanmar than any other non-Buddhist religion in the last few decades) in relation to the persecution of Muslims in this country; they appear to loathe to point out massacres by Muslims forces in the CAR against Christians; just like the persecution of Buddhists and others in the Chittagong Hill Tracts is barely mentioned in Bangladesh.

In must be remembered that when less than two thousand people had been killed in Kosovo the West intervened rapidly and took this part of Serbia away from the indigenous Orthodox Christians. Yet when northern Cyprus was occupied by Turkey and Orthodox Christians were cleansed then Western nations did zilch apart from sell more military arms to Turkey. Similarly, when millions of black African Christians and Animists were massacred in Sudan (many forced into slavery and forcibly converted to Islam) you never had the threat of Western intervention. Likewise, the mainly Christians of West Papua are currently facing Javanization and Islamization in Indonesia but the world is turning a blind eye once more just like they did when the Catholic Timorese were massacred in vast numbers by the same forces.

Elizabeth Kendal reports in Christian Today that the ‘Central African Republic is French-speaking and its population is around 76 per cent Christian. On Sunday 24 March 2013, Seleka — a coalition of local and foreign Arabic-speaking Islamic militias — seized control of the capital, Bangui, in an orgy of violence and looting.’

‘But Seleka does not rape, loot and kill indiscriminately. Rather, Seleka attacks Christians and spares Muslims, causing traditional community trust to evaporate, and creating a sectarian tinderbox.’

The same author reports that Christian militias are now retaliating and massacres against Muslims are happening based on the actions of Muslim forces within Seleka. Indeed, just like you have countless militias in Libya then it is difficult to define Seleka because many are mere rogue elements which are focused on economic goals alongside anti-Christian persecution. However, while religious agitation wasn’t enforced by the usual Christian leaders of the CAR, it is abundantly clear that you have an Islamist cause within all the chaos and common criminality of forces within Seleka and clearly the so-called government of national unity isn’t in control of the situation.

Christian Bishop Albert Vanbuel stated ‘a rebellion of religious extremism with evil intentions, characterized by profanation and planned destruction of religious buildings, especially Catholic and Protestant churches’ is now in power.” Read more.

Now The Twelfth Imam Can Come

“There is no requirement that non-Muslims must be responsible for that violence; Shi’ites filled with religious fervor, like the Ayatollah Khamenei and the mullahs behind him, could hasten the Twelfth Imam’s return and the consummation of all things by, say, launching a nuclear strike against Tel Aviv or some other Infidel outpost…”

By Robert Spencer, Frontpage Mag – “Among the many who decried the Obama Administration’s catastrophic capitulation to the nuclear ambitions of the Islamic Republic of Iran, none spelled out its potential consequences as trenchantly as Israel’s Economy Minister Naftali Bennett: ‘We awoke this morning to a new reality,’ he said Sunday. ‘A reality in which a bad deal was signed with Iran. A very bad deal. If a nuclear suitcase blows up five years from now in New York or Madrid, it will be because of the deal that was signed this morning.’

If that happens, it will also be because of the Shi’ite belief in the return of the Twelfth Imam. According to Islamic tradition, the dispute between the majority Sunnis and the Shiat Ali (Party of Ali) began upon the death of Muhammad in 632. The Sunnis contended that the prophet of Islam had made no provision for a successor as political, military, and spiritual leader of the Muslim community, and that therefore the Muslims should choose the best man among them as their leader. The nascent Party of Ali, on the contrary, claimed that Muhammad had designated his son-in-law Ali ibn Abi Talib as his successor, and that the successor of Muhammad had to be a member of the prophet’s household.

What’s more, far from being a mere functionary, this successor would bear some of Muhammad’s prophetic spirit, as well as infallibility in deciding disputed questions. Ali was finally chosen as the fourth caliph in 656, but in 661 was assassinated. Hassan, his eldest son (and successor, as far as the Shi’ites are concerned), was murdered in 670 on the orders of the Sunni caliph Muawiya. Then the Sunni/Shi’ite split became definitive and permanent when Ali’s younger son, Husayn, was killed in the Battle of Karbala in 680.

The Shi’ites were, thus, founded in loss and defeat, and these became the ongoing distinguishing features of Shi’ite history and piety. After the beheading of Husayn, the Shi’ites continued a succession of Imams, members of Muhammad’s household and his prophetic heirs. Each one in turn, over two centuries, was poisoned on orders of the Sunni caliph. According to the traditions of Twelver Shi’ism, the official religion of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the twelfth of these Imams, a boy of five years old, disappeared under mysterious and disputed circumstances in the year 874 – but remained alive. After his disappearance, he communicated to the world through four agents, the last of whom died in 941. At that point the Twelfth Imam went silent, entering the period of ‘Great Occultation.’

In his last communiqué to the world, via one of these messengers in 941, this mysterious figure consoled his followers with prophecies regarding his eventual reappearance. The circumstances of that reappearance could, in the hands of Iran’s mad mullahs, visit upon the world calamities of a scale never before seen. And Israel and America will bear the brunt.

‘Hearts,’ warned Mohammad al-Mahdi, the Twelfth Imam, in his last message, ‘will become inaccessible to compassion. The earth will be filled with tyranny and violence.’ He was speaking of the time of his reappearance, explaining that he would only come back to the world when the evil that Muslims were suffering was at its absolute apex. Iran: Obama’s Complete And Unmitigated Surrender, ‘Time Will Prove The President’s Political Blindness’

Barack Obama’s surrender to Iran is much worse than Neville Chamberlain’s surrender to Germany. The weapons of yesteryear were limited in terms of their destructive potential. Today, however, we are dealing with weapons of mass destruction and an enemy that is literally hell-bent on obtaining them, all the while making it very clear what they intend to do once they have them. Barack Obama somehow seems to believe that what kept the “cold war” between America and Russia cold will also prevent a nuclear holocaust from happening between Iran and everybody else. But “mutually assured destruction” is not a deterrent to a nation that seeks death for the glory of “Allah” and as a guaranteed means to gain entry into Mohammed’s paradise. It is an incentive …

Markovsky, Family Security Matters – “Karl Marx said, ‘History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce.’ A short travel through history reveals that it keeps repeating itself as tragedy after tragedy because we stubbornly refuse to learn from it. British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli returned from Berlin in 1878 stating, ‘I have returned from Germany with peace for our time.’ That peace ended with World War I. British statesman Neville Chamberlain proclaimed ‘peace for our time’ after signing an agreement with Hitler in Munich in 1938, an agreement that was praised and celebrated in Europe and across the Atlantic. In a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Mackenzie King, President Franklin Roosevelt wrote, ‘I can assure you that we in the United States rejoice with you, and the world at large, that the outbreak of war was averted.’ The New York Daily News declared, ‘Hitler has made a significant gesture toward peace.’ The ‘significant gesture toward peace’ ended up with the World War II and fifty million dead, including six million Jews.

Echoing those two delusional optimists, President of the United States Barack Obama proclaimed after signing the Geneva Agreement with Iran that the U.S. and allied diplomacy ‘opened up a new path toward a world that is more secure.’ Time will prove the president’s political blindness and lack of historical perspective. The Geneva Agreement has all the underpinnings of the Munich Agreement. Just as in 1930 the world failed to stop Hitler, while the viper was still in its crib, and tolerated Germany’s violations of the Treaties of Vesalius to allow her to re-arm, the world de facto allowed Iran to ignore United Nations Security Council resolutions and continue the development of a nuclear weapon. Just as Brittan sold out Czechoslovakia in 1938 to appease Hitler, the United States sold out Israel in 2013 to appease Iran, with one subtle difference: Israel will not surrender the way Czechoslovakia did.

According to Secretary of State John Kerry, the United States enters into negotiations with Iran ‘with eyes absolutely wide open. We have no illusions.’ The historical precedents and political prudence would tell us otherwise. Here are just a few examples:

  • Illusion #1. Just as Iran was about to sink into chaos, the United States and its European allies offered her a helping hand. Kerry insists that if Iran violates the agreement it can be reversed and sanctions could be re-applied. The folly of this argument is that nothing in this world is more permanent than something temporary. The administration will never recognize its failure, and Obama supporters will insist on further softening the sanctions in order to provide Iran with more incentive to comply.  Just as with Hitler in the 1930s, the slippery slope of appeasement will prove to be irreversible and will continue until the sanction regime crumbles or Iran obtains a nuclear bomb, whichever comes first.
  • Illusion #2. In Geneva, Kerry said of the agreement, ‘It will make our ally Israel safer.‘ Benjamin Netanyahu, prime minister of Israel, does not share Mr. Kerry’s Chamberlain-ish optimism. Netanyahu called the agreement ‘a historic mistake.’ What can John Kerry, an amateur in international diplomacy, and his boss possibly know that Benjamin Netanyahu, a highly experienced politician and a recognized expert on Middle East relations, does not? Kerry also said, ‘It will make our partners in the region safer.‘ It is not clear which of the U.S. partners in the Middle East he is referring to. Netanyahu is not alone in criticizing the agreement; the Saudis do not like it, the Jordanians do not like it, and who does??? The Iranians and Syrians do, not surprisingly.”

Syria: Islamist Rebels Take Over Town, Hunt Down Christians

Why wait to hunt down Christians after Syria is “liberated” when they can easily do it now? …

Agenzia Fides – “Militants of Islamist factions have invaded the town of Deir Atieh, north of Damascus, spreading terror, death and destruction. As Fides sources in the Greek Orthodox Church report, the attack took place on 22 November. The militants entered the municipal hospital and took hostage the sick. The museum of Deir Atieh that welcomed thousands of works and precious archaeological finds was devastated. Mosques and churches were hit and damaged. Numerous homes were looted and civilians captured and used as human shields.

The situation is particularly worrying for Christians. The population, about 25 thousand people, have begun to flee. The militiamen examine the identification documents of those who intend to leave the city and retain those who have Christian names. To be able to leave the village, a Greek Orthodox priest had to say he was married and present himself with a woman: he was allowed to go just because he had an Arab name and had no ancestry or Christian reference.

Fr. F.H., who in a note sent to Fides requested anonymity for security reasons, pleads the international community and the Holy See to mobilize in order to arrange for the release of the hostages and save the village of Deir Atieh. It is not clear, notes the source of Fides, what prompted the armed gangs to penetrate the village. Even hundreds of people from Qara, another Syrian village in the mountains of Qalamoun, 90 km from Damascus had found refuge. In recent weeks, Qara had been attacked by Islamist fighters from the city of Arzal. Among the refugees of Qara, who moved to Deir Atieh, there is also the Greek-Catholic priest Father George Luis and all his parishioners.” Source – Agenzia Fides.

Daniel Greenfield: ‘Obama Has Made It Clear That He Will Do Nothing To Stop Iran From Going Nuclear’

American voters wanted change they could actually believe in, just not this type of change. But then again …

By Daniel Greenfield, Frontpage Mag – “Obama was never going to stop Iran from going nuclear, but his promises gave people who should have known better, including American Jewish leaders and the Prime Minister of Israel, the idea that he would stand firm.

‘Iran’s leaders should understand that I do not have a policy of containment; I have a policy to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon,’ Obama said last year. ‘Rest assured that the Iranian government will know our resolve and that our coordination with Israel will continue.’

Instead Obama reached a secret deal to relax Iran sanctions and accept an Iranian nuclear program while cutting Israel out of the loop.

Despite the anger and outrage, this isn’t the worst case scenario. The worst case scenario would have been if Obama had kept stringing everyone along, adding a little bit of sanctions here and there, while quietly eliminating them under the table, and playing for time until Iran actually detonated a nuke.

Now Obama has made it clear that he will do nothing to stop Iran from going nuclear.

Israel and Saudi Arabia have both issued statements making it clear that they will not accept an Iranian bomb. And unlike Obama, they actually mean it. What they will do about it is another question, but now they, and everyone on the firing line, knows that Obama will do nothing and that sets them free to act.

Iran is in the North Korean cycle of nuclear development, useless sanctions, pointed threats and worthless deals. If the cycle continues, Iran will detonate a nuclear weapon and then it will pass nuclear technology into the hands of terrorists. And the next step is the mass murder of millions.

This trickledown effect was why China should not have been allowed to go nuclear, why North Korea should not have been allowed to go nuclear and why Pakistan should not have been allowed to go nuclear. The process that began with the Atom Bomb spies helping the USSR go nuclear has kept moving forward allowing smaller and more erratic players to be able to kill millions with the push of a button.

Iranian President: ‘I Announce To Our People That Our Enrichment Activities Will Continue As Before’

If a history of deceit and obfuscation wasn’t enough for Western “leaders” to learn that the Islamic Republic could never be trusted, then the words of “moderate” President Rouhani today should serve as a sobering reminder. Sadly, they will not. The only lesson the West seems to have learned is the art of selective hearing. What complicates matters even further, however, is the fact that with a nation like Iran the problem is not just with what they say, but also with what they do not say. While President Rouhani claims on one hand that Iran does not “want” nuclear weapons, he conceals the other by omitting the very fact that Iran NEEDS them in order to fulfill their own stated Islamic goals: To annihilate Israel for peaceful purposes and to prepare the way for the Islamic “Messiah” that will bring the world under Islamic rule. According to Rouhani, the accusations that Iran is attempting to build a nuclear bomb is “one of those funny jokes of history.” And he’s right. Unfortuately, the joke’s on you, America. And Israel is the punch line …

By Jason Rezaian, The Washington Post – “Iran’s top officials on Sunday welcomed the initial agreement struck with world powers over its nuclear activities, hailing the deal as the beginning of a new era for the Islamic republic, both in its relations with other countries and for its sanctions-ravaged economy.

‘Trust is, of course, a two-way street, and we must also find this trust in others. The first step in creating that trust has been taken,’ Iran’s new president, the moderate cleric Hassan Rouhani, said in a statement broadcast live on television Sunday morning.

Addressing concerns over the language in the agreement between the six world powers and Iran regarding Tehran’s ability to continue work on its nuclear program, Rouhani said, ‘Let anyone make his own reading, but this right is clearly stated in the text of the agreement that Iran can continue its enrichment, and I announce to our people that our enrichment activities will continue as before.’

Rouhani, who was joined on the broadcast by the families of several Iranian nuclear scientists who were assassinated in recent years, also reiterated what Iran claims is the peaceful nature of its nuclear program.

‘Let me say once more, the Iranian nation does not want nuclear weapons,’ Rouhani said, referring to the accusations that Iran is attempting to build a bomb as ‘one of those funny jokes of history.’

A key point for Tehran throughout the negotiations with the group of world powers has been a clear path to reductions in the sanctions that have wrought havoc on Iran’s economy in recent years.

One of the achievements of Sunday’s agreement, according to Rouhani, is that ‘the sanctions will be broken. The cracks in the sanctions began last night, and in the future those gaps will be grow.’

Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who has long doubted the sincerity of Western leaders, expressed guarded approval of the agreement.

Responding to a letter from Rouhani, Khamenei thanked the efforts of Iran’s negotiating team, led by foreign minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, but asked the members to continue their vigilance in dealing with old enemies.

‘God willing, standing against the arrogant powers is and will be the main criteria on the path forward for those in charge of this issue,’ Khamenei wrote.” Read more.

Two gunmen from Boko Haram kidnapped Hajja, a 19- year-old Christian in July as she picked corn near her village in the Gwoza hills, a remote part of northeastern Nigeria where a six-month-old government offensive is struggling to contain an insurgency by Boko Haram.

‘If I cried, they beat me. If I spoke, they beat me. They told me I must become a Muslim but I refused again and again,’ Hajja told Reuters in an interview.

The Islamists threatened her with a knife pressed to her throat and said her options were to convert to Islam or die.

Aaron Jensen, a spokesman for the United States government’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, told The Jerusalem Post on Wednesday, ‘We have seen reports of forced conversion and enslavement.

The United States strongly condemns any acts of forced conversion or enslavement if true. These alleged actions violate fundamental human rights, including the right to freedom of conscience.’

Boko Haram is generally translated as ‘Western education is sinful.’ In a telephone interview with the Post about Boko Haram and radical Islamist groups, David Cook, a professor of religious studies at the Houston-based Rice University, said Boko Haram’s methods are ‘part of a pattern you can find in a lot of groups, Salafi Jihadists, for example, in Syria.’

Cook, a leading expert on Boko Haram, estimates core membership to be a few thousand to perhaps as many as 5,000.

Tiffany Lynch, senior policy analyst at the US Commission on International Religious Freedom, told the Post by email that ‘Boko Haram’s stated goal is the implementation of Shari’a nationwide and in 2012 called on all Christians to leave northern Nigeria. With this goal, Boko Haram attacks churches during worship services to maximize its killing, kills individual Christians, forces Christians to convert to Islam or die, kills persons engaged in what it believes is ‘un-Islamic’ behavior, and kills Muslim critics.’

Lynch added that from January 1, 2012 through July 31, 2013, USCIRF found that Boko Haram had initiated religiously motivated attacks on 50 churches that were ‘bombed, burned or attacked, killing at least 366 persons.” She continued that there were 31 seperate attacks on Christians or southerners perceived to be Christian, ‘killing at least 166 persons.'” Read more.

The deal was reached after four days of marathon bargaining and an 11th-hour intervention by U.S. Secretary of State John F. Kerry and other foreign ministers from Europe, Russia and China. the sources said.

The agreement, sealed at 3 a.m. signing ceremony in Geneva’s Palace of Nations, requires Iran to halt or scale back parts of it nuclear infrastructure, the first such pause in more than a decade.

‘We have reached an agreement,’ Michael Mann, spokesman for European Union foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton said in a Twitter posting.

‘We have reached an agreement,’ echoed Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a separate posting.

Negotiations had run into the late evening, with the foreign ministers of Britain, France, Germany, China, Russia the European Union and the United States huddled in a hotel conference room. Several of the diplomats met earlier in the day with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, who told reporters that the parties remained divided on key details of the six-month trial deal.

The talks had remained snarled despite the last-minute intervention of Kerry, who flew to Geneva for the second time in two weeks to try to break the impasse. The Obama administration has been seeking to quickly finalize an agreement in the face of threats by Congress to impose additional economic sanctions on Iran.

The marathon discussions with Iran were described by Western diplomats as ‘very difficult’ and ‘intense,’ and several officials had sought to lower expectations that a resolution could be reached before Sunday, when Kerry and the other foreign ministers were due to depart.

Kerry, Zarif and the lead E.U. negotiator, Catherine Ashton, met late Saturday, but the session ended with no announcement of progress. Instead, Iran’s deputy foreign minister hardened his country’s position.

Although ’98 percent’ of the deal was done, Iran said it could not accept any agreement that does not recognize what it calls its uranium enrichment rights, Abbas Araghchi told reporters.

‘Any agreement without recognizing Iran’s right to enrich, practically and verbally, will be unacceptable for Tehran,’ Araghchi said, according to Reuters.

Araghchi and Zarif have insisted that the deal hinges on international recognition of Iran’s right to enrich uranium, a matter of deep national pride.

The proposed deal offered to Iran would reportedly allow limited uranium enrichment, although under tight restrictions and heavy international monitoring. But Western officials have balked at recognizing a legal ‘right’ to uranium enrichment, hoping instead to craft language in the final agreement that acknowledges the right of all countries to pursue nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. And does this “deal” even bother to include language explicity restricting any nuclear material or weapons whatsoever from outside Iran? The Islamic Republic may agree on a deal that “freezes key parts” of its nuclear program temporarily, but this could very easily be “outsourced” via their expanded “ties” with North Korea …

‘Largest Massacre Of Christians In Syria’ Ignored

By Raymond Ibrahim, Frontpage Mag – “The worst Christian massacre—complete with mass graves, tortured-to-death women and children, and destroyed churches—recently took place in Syria, at the hands of the U.S.-supported jihadi ‘rebels’; and the U.S. government and its ‘mainstream media’ mouthpiece are, as usual, silent (that is, when not actively trying to minimize matters).

The massacre took place in Sadad, an ancient Syriac Orthodox Christian habitation, so old as to be mentioned in the Old Testament.  Most of the region’s inhabitants are poor, as Sadad is situated in the remote desert between Homs and Damascus (desert regions, till now, apparently the only places Syria’s Christians could feel secure; 600 Christian families had earlier fled there for sanctuary from the jihad, only to be followed by it).

In late October, the U.S-supported ‘opposition’ invaded and occupied Sadad for over a week, till ousted by the nation’s military.  Among other atrocities, 45 Christians—including women and children—were killed, several tortured to death; Sadat’s 14 churches, some ancient, were ransacked and destroyed; the bodies of six people from one family, ranging from ages 16 to 90, were found at the bottom of a well (an increasingly common fate for ‘subhuman’ Christians).

The jihadis even made a graphic video (with English subtitles) of those whom they massacred, while shouting Islam’s victory-cry, ‘Allahu Akbar’ (which John McCain equates to a Christian saying ‘thank God’).  Another video, made after Sadad was liberated shows more graphic atrocities.

Here are the words of Archbishop Selwanos Boutros Alnemeh, Syriac Orthodox Metropolitan of Homs and Hama (another detailed account, with pictures, appears here):

What happened in Sadad is the most serious and biggest massacre of Christians in Syria in the past two years and a half… 45 innocent civilians were martyred for no reason, and among them several women and children, many thrown into mass graves. Other civilians were threatened and terrorized. 30 were wounded and 10 are still missing. For one week, 1,500 families were held as hostages and human shields. Among them children, the elderly, the young, men and women….  All the houses of Sadad were robbed and property looted. The churches are damaged and desecrated, deprived of old books and precious furniture…  What happened in Sadad is the largest massacre of Christians in Syria and the second in the Middle East, after the one in the Church of Our Lady of Salvation in Iraq, in 2010.

In the Iraqi attack of 2010, al-Qaeda linked jihadis stormed the church during service killing some 60 Christian worshippers (see here for graphic images of the aftermath).

While the archbishop is correct that this is the ‘largest massacre of Christians in Syria,’ it is but the tip of the iceberg of the persecution the nation’s Christian minority has suffered—including beheadings, church bombings, kidnappings, rapes, and dislocation of hundreds of thousands of Christians—since the war broke out …” Read more.

Drawing Near Unto ‘Allah’: Hamas Threatens Israel With Genocide

According to Jonathan Dahoah Halevi of the Alternative Angle blog, the comments were made last week as Hamas marked the first anniversary of the IDF’s counter-terrorism Operation Pillar of Defense which took place in November of 2012.

According to Halevi, Hamas celebrated its ‘victory’ over Israel, saying that the round of fighting demonstrates the ability of terrorist groups to deter Israel through missile attacks on key large urban areas, particularly Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, and through the continuous improvement of military capabilities and the use of tunnels for strategic terrorist attacks, including kidnapping of soldiers to use as bargaining chips.

The victory speeches given by officials in Hamas repeatedly highlighted the group’s commitment to the liberation of all ‘Palestinian territory’, denying the right of the ‘Zionists’ to settle in the land of Israel and a declaration of the intent to perform genocide against Jews when the balance of power is reversed.

This message was expressed in a speech on November 13, 2013 given by Khalil Al-Hayya, a senior Hamas figure who is a Hamas parliamentarian, a member of the political bureau of Hamas and the Association of Palestinian Scholars which is affiliated with Hamas.

‘This way [Hamas’s commitment to jihad] says to them:

[You] Zionists, you have no place on the land of Palestine … we shall expel you from our land and we will fight against you on it [on the land], we will kill you or expel you from it when you are submissive … the jihad and the martyrdom in the way of Allah are our road and our track which are meant to fulfill our triumphs and fulfill and protect our [Muslim] nation.'” Read more.
