DW – “In the days after a sharpshooter put his brother in the crosshairs and pulled the trigger, Jalal Gazouha lived as if in a cloud. ‘I almost went crazy with grief,’ the Syrian explained on the telephone. The connection crackles. The 29-year-old’s brother was killed by al Qaeda fighters in the western Syrian city of al-Qusayr, close to the Lebanese border. Gazouha is convinced that his brother was killed because he was Christian. ‘They want to drive us out of Syria,’ he told DW.

By ‘they,’ he’s referring to Jihadists from countries neighboring Syria – with a few hundred from Germany mixed in – who have joined in the Syrian civil war to fight against the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. According to Gazouha, they’re also targeting Christians. Twenty of his family members have been murdered, he says. When Gazouha received death threats, he fled the country. ‘I saw my name on a list on the Internet. That list contained names of Christians who were supposed to be killed, he says, written by ‘the terrorists of al Qaeda.’

Jean Kawak, a Syriac bishop from Damascus, chose his words carefully when he spoke about the subject with DW. ‘We Christians have recently felt threatened by particular radical Islamist groups,’ he said.

Kawak’s own sister was forced to flee Ma’loula, a small, largely Christian village just an hour’s drive north of Damascus. Islamist rebel groups attacked that village, carried out fire attacks on two churches in Rakka in north central Syria and also kidnapped two Syrian bishops in April; the culprits behind the latter attack, eyewitnesses said, were foreign Jihadists. All of these things, the Aramaic bishop says, ‘affect our Christian presence within Syria.’ One-third of Christians have fled the country in the last two years due to the civil war – with numbers increasing.

These radicalized groups are not only targeting Christians though, Kawak says. ‘Moderate Muslims are also being threatened.'” Read more.

The Muslim attackers repeated a common Islamic accusation by stating that Christians were guilty of altering the Bible over the years while the Qur’an was perfect (despite discoveries of old Qur’anic texts revealing many aberrations). What Muslims obviously fail to consider, however, are the logical implications of the fact that Mohammed himself clearly believed the Bible was not corrupt during the time in which the Qur’an was being “revealed” to him and even called upon the Christians of his day to adhere to the Scriptures they already possessed: Since archaeological discoveries have proven that, unlike the Qur’an, the Biblical texts we have today are the same Scriptures that Christians had during Mohammed’s time, when could the Bible have possibly been corrupted, who corrupted it, and how was it corrupted? …

Morning Star News – “Police in Islamabad have arrested three Muslims for pistol-whipping a Christian and his teenage nephews after they refused to convert to Islam, sources said.

The assailants in an Islamabad suburb allegedly have links to a banned Islamic extremist group. The primary suspect, Muhammad Nadeem, and others approached a 43-year-old Christian, low-level government worker Boota Masih, the night of Oct. 4 in the Khokhar Town area of suburban Islamabad, Masih said.

‘At around 9 p.m. my teenage nephews and I were standing in the street along with some Muslim neighbors when Nadeem and three of his accomplices approached us on two motorcycles,’ Masih said. ‘At that time we were discussing the recent terrorist attacks in Peshawar, including the one on a church [in which more than 80 Christians were killed and several dozen injured when two Uzbek suicide bombers targeted the Sunday service].’

The visitors joined the conversation, which turned tense when Nadeem said Christians had altered the Bible over the years and that Christianity was ‘a distortion of facts.’

‘He then bluntly asked me to convert to Islam,’ Masih said, adding that Nadeem told him, ‘Islam is the only true faith, and you must join us to fulfill Allah’s will. The West and Zionists are hatching conspiracies against Islam because they are scared of its rise and popularity in their countries … They know one day Allah will give the whole world in our control and every person will become a Muslim.’

Masih told Nadeem that he wasn’t interested in discussing religion with him, and that he should stop unnecessarily criticizing Christianity, he said.

‘The other Muslims present there also objected to Nadeem’s provocative remarks and told him to leave us alone, but he refused to leave, threatening instead that they would make sure that all Christians ‘seek forgiveness’ and ‘embrace Islam,’ or else they would have to face the ‘consequences,’’ he said.” Read more.

This information was reported by the indipendent Kurdish Agency – AraNews, known for its critical stance against the Syrian regime and in contact with activists and informers that from Raqqa have leaked the news via social networks.

The region of Raqqa was the scene of clashes between the army of Assad and the militias of the opposition in March. After the withdrawal of the government army, internal clashes between the anti-regime Free Syrian Army battalions and groups of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant began. The stated purpose of this faction is the creation of an Islamic caliphate in the areas which have fallen under its control. To do this, civilians are subjected to campaigns of indoctrination and fanaticization – based on jiahdist ideology. Already in September several videos circulating online had documented the vandalism committed against the two churches in the city of Raqqa by militants of ISIL, with the destruction of crosses, statues and sacred images.

Japan: Powerful 7.3 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Off Fukushima Coast, Tsunami Warning Issued

Fox News – “An earthquake of magnitude 7.3 struck Saturday morning off Japan’s east coast, the U.S. Geological Survey said. Japan’s emergency agencies declared a tsunami warning for the region that includes the crippled Fukushima nuclear site.

Japan’s Meteorological Agency raised a 3-foot tsunami warning for a long stretch of Japan’s northeastern coast, including Fukushima. It put the magnitude of the quake at 7.1. The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center did not post warnings for the rest of the Pacific.

The quake hit at 2:10 a.m. Saturday Tokyo time about  170 miles off Fukushima. Japanese broadcaster NHK reported that Tokyo Electric Power Co., the operator of the Fukushima plant, ordered workers near the cost to move to higher ground.

Sun Shoots Out Massive X-Class Solar Flare, Sparks Temporary Radio Blackout

By Tariq Malik, Fox News – “The sun erupted with one of the strongest solar flares it can unleash early Friday, just days after firing off an intense solar storm at Earth.

The major solar flare, which registered as an X1.7-class solar event on the space weather scale, peaked at 4:01 a.m. EDT (0801 GMT), according to an alert by the NOAA-run Space Weather Prediction Center. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured video of the X1.7 solar flare, which followed several smaller sun storms over the last few days.

The sun storm erupted from a new sunspot cluster called Region 1882 and sparked a temporary radio blackout, SWPC officials said in an update. But it is not aimed directly at Earth and is not currently expected to be ‘geo-effective,’ meaning that it should not spark a major geomagnetic storms in Earth’s magnetic field, they added.

Astronomers classify solar flares into three categories — C, M and X — with C being the weakest and X the strongest. When aimed directly at Earth, X-class sun eruptions can interfere with satellite-based communications and navigation systems, endanger astronauts in orbit.

That does not appear to be the case with the X1.7-class flare, according to an SWPC update, though officials are awaiting additional imagery of the solar flare to see if it was associated with a massive explosion of super-hot plasma — known as a coronal mass ejection — that can hurl solar material into space at more than 1 million mph.

Friday’s X1.7 solar flare occurred just hours after a more moderate M-class solar flare and two days after an intense M9.4-class solar flare on Wednesday. That M9.4 solar flare was associated with a coronal mass ejection.” Read more.

By Raymond Ibrahim, American Thinker – “Who is more deserving of punishment by the United States?  Millions of Egyptians, for ousting the Muslim Brotherhood?  Or the Muslim Brotherhood, for habitually terrorizing and murdering Christians, among many other crimes?

According to the unmistakably clear actions of the Obama administration, it is the millions of anti-Brotherhood Egyptians who deserve punishment.

Last Sunday, the Church of the Virgin [Mary] in Waraq near Cairo was attacked during a wedding ceremony, leaving four dead and many wounded.  According to Dr. Hisham Abdul Hamid of forensics, two of those who were murdered were Christian children.  Both girls were named Mary: 12-year-old Mary Nabil Fahmy, who took five shots in the chest, and 8-year-old Mary Ashraf Masih (Christ), who took a bullet in the back.

It should be noted that this scene — attacked Coptic churches and murdered Christians, especially on holy days and celebrations — has become a normalized aspect of Egypt’s landscape (see Crucified Again: Exposing Islam’s New War on Christians, especially pgs. 42-43 and 56-62).

So too are the murders of Christian children increasingly common in Egypt.  Indeed, along with Sunday’s two murdered Marys, back in July, another Christian girl, 10-year-old Jessi Boulos, was shot dead while walking home from Bible class.

All of these church attacks and murders are a direct byproduct of the Muslim Brotherhood’s incitements against Egypt’s Christians in response to the June 30 Revolution, which saw the ousting of the Brotherhood.

Needing someone to scapegoat in order to set Egypt ablaze, Brotherhood leadership — including supreme leader Muhammad Badie, Safwat Hegazi, and Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi — repeatedly demonized the nation’s Christian minority, leading to any number of atrocities committed against the Copts.

As today’s headline from one of Egypt’s most read newspapers, Tahrir News, put it: ‘The Brotherhood’s crime in Waraq [location of Sunday’s church attack].  Seventeen murdered Copts and 85 torched churches since ousting of Morsi[.] … Copts pay price of June 30 Revolution.’

Now consider the response of the United States concerning the conflict between Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood in the context of U.S. aid.

By Oren Dorell, USA TODAY – “Iran could produce enough weapons-grade uranium to build a nuclear bomb in as little as a month, according to a new estimate by one of the USA’s top nuclear experts.

The new assessment comes as the White House invited Senate staffers to a briefing on negotiations with Iran as it is trying to persuade Congress not to go ahead with a bill to stiffen sanctions against Iran.

‘Shortening breakout times have implications for any negotiation with Iran,’ stated the report by the Institute for Science and International Security. ‘An essential finding is that they are currently too short and shortening further.’

David Albright, president of the institute and a former inspector for the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency, said the estimate means that Iran would have to eliminate more than half of its 19,000 centrifuges to extend the time it would take to build a bomb to six months.

The Obama administration has said Iran is probably a year away from having enough enriched uranium to make a bomb. Requests for comment from the National Security Council and the State Department were not answered.

In the report, Albright said negotiations with Iran should focus on so-called “breakout” times, or the time required to convert low-enriched uranium to weapons-grade.

Albright, who has testified before Congress, said the negotiators should try to find ways to lengthen the breakout times and shorten the time that inspectors could detect breakout. ISIS’ analysis is based on the latest Iranian and United Nations reports on Iran’s centrifuge equipment for producing nuclear fuel and its nuclear fuel stockpiles.

Iran’s stockpile of highly-enriched uranium has nearly doubled in a year’s time and its number of centrifuges has expanded from 12,000 in 2012 to 19,000 today.

Sen. Mark Kirk, an Illinois Republican whose Senate Banking Committee is considering legislation to tighten Iran sanctions, said the report shows that Iran is expanding its nuclear capabilities under the cover of negotiations.” Read more.

Boy, that’ll leave them seeing red. Which begs the question: What in “Allah’s name” will they do about all those rivers of wine in Mohammed’s glorious “paradise”? Contradictions. By Benjamin Weinthal, Fox News – “Four Iranian Christians were reportedly sentenced to 80 lashes for drinking wine for communion, a shocking punishment meted out even as a new United Nations report blasted the Islamic republic for its systematic persecution of non-Muslims.

The four men were sentenced Oct. 6 after being arrested in a house church last December and charged with consuming alcohol in violation of the theocracy’s strict laws, according to Christian Solidarity Worldwide. They were among several Christians punished for their faith in a nation where converting from Islam to Christianity can bring the death penalty. According to a new October UN report by Ahmed Shaheed, UN special rapporteur on human rights in Iran, such persecution is common, despite new President Hasan Rouhani’s pledge to be a moderate.

‘At least 20 Christians were in custody in July 2013,’ Shaheed wrote. ‘In addition, violations of the rights of Christians, particularly those belonging to evangelical Protestant groups, many of whom are converts, who proselytize to and serve Iranian Christians of Muslim background, continue to be reported.’

Iran’s regime has made stopping the spread of Christianity a cornerstone of its crackdown on religious freedom. There are estimated to be as many as 370,000 Christians in Iran, according to the most recent U.S. State Department report. The clerical rulers see Christianity as a threat to Iran’s majority ultra-orthodox Shiite Islamic religion.

‘Despite the recent Iranian charm offensive, Dr. Shaheed’s report reminds us of the true nature of the Iranian regime where the abuse of human rights continue,’ Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), chairman and founder of the Iran Dissident Awareness Program, told FoxNews.com.

‘Political prisoners like blogger Mohammad  Reza Pourshajari are being denied adequate medical care,  journalists and their families continue to be targets of the regime, Pastor Saeed Abedini and Amir Hekmati are still languishing in prison and the Baha’i community faces increasing persecution. This is the true nature of the regime we’re dealing with during negotiations in Geneva.’

Alireza Miryousefi,a spokesman for Iran’s mission to the UN, did not respond to requests for comment, but Iran’s government blasted Dr. Shaheed’s report as not objective. According to Iran’s state-controlled news outlet Press TV, an Iranian official from the UN mission said Shaheed ‘has not paid sufficient notice to Iran’s legal system and Islamic culture and considers whatever he sees in the West as an international standard for the entire world.’

Shaheed is widely considered to be one of the world’s leading authorities on human rights. He served as the minister of foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives.

‘It should be no surprise that Iran’s human rights record as documented by the UN is nothing short of atrocious,’ Rep. Eliot Engel, D-N.Y., ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told FoxNews.com. ‘If the regime thinks that its international charm offensive will help whitewash its appalling human rights record as documented by the UN report, they are sorely mistaken.'” Read more.

Report: Obama Admin Is Purging Military Commanders And ‘Striking Fear In The Hearts Of Those Still Serving’

By Sara Carter, The Blaze – “Nine senior commanding generals have been fired by the Obama administration this year, leading to speculation by active and retired members of the military that a purge of its commanders is underway.

Retired generals and current senior commanders that have spoken with TheBlaze say the administration is not only purging the military of commanders they don’t agree with, but is striking fear in the hearts of those still serving.

The timing comes as the five branches of the U.S. armed forces are reducing staff due to budget cuts, and as U.S. troops are expected to withdraw from Afghanistan next year.

‘I think they’re using the opportunity of the shrinkage of the military to get rid of people that don’t agree with them or not tow the party line. Remember, as (former White House chief of staff) Rahm Emanuel said, never waste a crisis,’ a senior retired general told TheBlaze on the condition of anonymity because he still provide services to the government and fears possible retribution.

‘Even as a retired general, it’s still possible for the administration to make life miserable for us. If we’re working with the government or have contracts, they can just rip that out from under us,’ he said.

Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely, an outspoken critic of the Obama administration, said the White House fails to take action or investigate its own, but finds it easy to fire military commanders ‘who have given their lives for their country.’

‘Obama will not purge a civilian or political appointee because they have bought into Obama’s ideology,’ Vallely said. ‘The White House protects their own. That’s why they stalled on the investigation into fast and furious, Benghazi and Obamacare. He’s intentionally weakening and gutting our military, Pentagon and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged.’

A Pentagon official who asked to remain nameless because they were not authorized to speak on the matter said even ‘young officers, down through the ranks have been told not to talk about Obama or the politics of the White House. They are purging everyone and if you want to keep your job — just keep your mouth shut.” Read more.

By Todd Starnes, Fox News – “The Secretary of the Army has ordered military leaders to halt all briefings on extremist organizations that labeled Evangelical Christian groups as domestic hate groups. The shutdown comes just four days after I reported exclusively about a briefing at Mississippi’s Camp Shelby that labeled the American Family Association as a domestic hate group.

‘On several occasions over the past few months, media accounts have highlighted instances of Army instructors supplementing programs of instruction and including information or material that is inaccurate, objectionable and otherwise inconsistent with current Army policy,’ Army Sec. John McHugh wrote to military leaders in a memorandum I obtained.

McHugh ‘directed that Army leaders cease all briefings, command presentations or training on the subject of extremist organizations or activities until that program of instruction and training has been created and disseminated,’ Army spokesman Col. David Patterson, Jr., tells me.

The Chaplain Alliance for Religious Liberty welcomed the news and said it was about time the Secretary of the Army intervened.

‘Men and women of faith – who have served the Army faithfully for centuries – have been likened to those who regularly threaten the peace and security of the United States,’ said Ron Crews, executive director of the Chaplain Alliance. ‘It is dishonorable for any U.S. military entity to allow this type of improper characterization.’

The Camp Shelby incident led five congressmen to fire off a letter to the Pentagon expressing their grave concerns.

‘This most recent mislabeling of a Christian organization reflects what appears to be a troubling trend of religious intolerance in the military,’ Rep. Doug Lamborn wrote in a letter signed by Reps. Tim Huelskamp, Steve Scalise, John Fleming and Joseph Pitts. ‘We are very troubled.’

The Army issued a statement refuting the claims made and photographed in the briefing after it was reported in my column.

The Camp Shelby briefing was one of a number of incidents on Army bases around the nation where soldiers were instructed that groups like the American Family Association and Family Research Council should be considered domestic hate groups because of their support for traditional marriage.

Last week soldiers at Fort Hood were warned that participating in or donating money to evangelical Christian groups or Tea Party groups could result in military punishment.” Read more.

Spain: Muslim Tries To Kidnap 4-Year-Old At School, ‘We’re Going To Invade This Place … Islam Will Be Imposed’

By Cheradenine Zakalwe, Islam verses Europe – “The local police in Motril (Granada) has arrested a 52-year-old man who tried to kidnap a 4-year-old girl after entering a local school, shouting ‘We are going to invade this place, we will educate your children, Islam will be imposed on Al-Andalus.’

According to information from Motril town council, the incident occurred at 8.45 am today in Ave María de Varadero school, when the man, who has acquired Spanish nationality but is of Moroccan origin, burst into the centre and took the girl by the arm, trying to kidnap her.

It was the girl’s father who, after a small struggle, succeeded in getting the girl back and handing her over to one of the teachers, who demanded that the attacker leave the premises.

When he refused, the father got the man out of the school and immobilised him. The arrested man struck several blows against the father.

The arrested man, against whom complaints had already been filed at the weekend by the local police for attempted aggravated robbery and an attack upon public authority, struck several blows to the face of the victim’s father, causing injuries for which he had to be treated at Santa Ana de Motril hospital.

After checking that the girl had not suffered any injuries and so as not to interrupt her routine, the father decided that she could continue her day at school.” Source – Islam verses Europe.
