But when one of the most important and influential leaders of the Muslim world stands up and calls for all churches in Arabia to be destroyed, Miley Cyrus is deemed more newsworthy …

Pravoslavie – “Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Abdulaziz Bin Abdullah has once again called for the destruction of all Churches on the Arabian Peninsula.

Bin Abdullah, head of the Ulema Council and the Standing Committee on Fatwas, made this statement after a presentation by the Kuwaiti parliamentarian Osama Al-Munawer of the bill that bans construction of new non-Muslim religious buildings in Kuwait.

The Mufti stated that, according to Islamic law, all churches in the region must be demolished; i.e., Islam is the only legal religion here. The words of Muhammad that ‘there cannot be two religions on the Arabian peninsula’ the head of the Sunni always interprets in favor of Islam.

Not long ago, owing to the consecration of a Catholic Church in United Arab Emirates, the local Christians expected the opening of negotiations concerning the construction of the first church in Saudi Arabia. At the present time, from 3 to 4 million immigrant Christians work in this Muslim country, according to various sources.

In June, Cardinal Fernando Filoni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, consecrated the new Church of St. Antonio in United Arab Emirates, near Dubai. The Church of St. Paul in Abu Dhabi is currently in the first stage of development. By Morgan Lee, Christian Post – “Karim Shamsi-Basha was still a Muslim when a sudden brain aneurysm left him in a coma for almost a month in 1992. After the Syrian-born Shamsi-Basha made an amazing almost-complete recovery, his neurosurgeon, recognizing the rarity of what had occurred, told him that he had ‘seen very few people recover as you did. You have to find out why you survived.’

These would be the words that catalyze an almost 20 year journey that would eventually lead Shamsi-Basha to Jesus Christ.

Shamsi-Basha’s new book, Paul and Me, tells of this quest, and recounts how he spent close to two decades of his life discovering Jesus and learning his purpose, which he now testifies is ‘to share God’s love with people and let them know He loves all his children.’

Released last month, the book intersperses chapters of Shamsi-Basha’s own life and walk with God, with various theologians’ thoughts about Paul, one of the Bible’s most central figures, whose own conversion experience took place in the ancient Syrian city of Damascus.

Shamsi-Basha grew up in a Muslim family in a Syria he says was tolerant of all faiths. Indeed, his best friend was a Christian, the two were frequently at each other’s houses, and had all sorts of discussions and arguments with each other about faith, though no one ever succeeded in converting the other.

While his family practiced Islam culturally, Shamsi-Basha says he was ‘very serious in [his] teenage years.’

‘I prayed five times a day. I walked to the mosque before sunrise. I fasted the month of Ramadan,’ he added.

Tired of the corruption of the first Assad regime, Shamsi-Basha immigrated to the United States at the age of 18 to attend the University of Tennessee. From there he married, had his first son and moved to his current residence of Birmingham, Al. before he was struck by the brain aneurysm.

After his recovery, Shamsi-Basha began reading the Bible, struck by its focus on God’s love and grace, and was baptized in 1996 in what he terms was his ‘near-conversion.’

But, Shamsi-Basha said, it took over 10 more years, and the dissolution of his first marriage, the death of his father, homelessness and another failed relationship, for him to ultimately be at a place to fully accept Christ as his Lord and Savior, a process that is his new book’s focal point.

‘In 2008 I completely surrendered to God,’ he said. ‘Now I can’t get enough.’

Meanwhile, Shamsi-Basha now tells everyone he can that he credits Jesus Christ and the saving grace of God for his conversion. ‘Salvation is of the Lord,’ he firmly emphasized to The Christian Post, adding that God takes ‘credit for my conversion. Competition Between Islamist Militants May Fuel Big Attacks

By Myra MacDonald, Reuters – “The assault on Kenya’s Westgate shopping mall has brought into sharp relief a pattern likely to complicate efforts to counter Islamist militants – competition among jihadis can increase the risk of a major attack.

As with the 2008 assault on the Indian city of Mumbai and this year’s raid on an Algerian desert gas plant, the attack in Nairobi by Somalia’s al Shabaab was preceded by in-fighting or loss of supporters to other militant groups.

This competition can initially make groups seem divided and weak, while actually making them more dangerous if a leader then feels compelled to mount a big attack to burnish his jihadi credentials – thereby bringing in fresh recruits and funding.

Western counter-terrorism officials have long been aware of the risk that intensive security measures adopted at home following the Sept 11, 2001 attacks on the United States are driving militants to target Westerners overseas.

But the impact of competition, sometimes caused by government efforts to curb militants, is only just beginning to be understood. It was thrown into sharp relief by the mall attack by al Shabaab, which killed 67 people.

Recognised by al Qaeda as an affiliate in 2012, the group had suffered from internal feuding as African Union forces, including troops from Kenya, drove them out of urban strongholds.

These rifts rose dramatically to the surface when the American-born Omar Hammami tweeted about what he said were attempts on his life by al Shabaab assassins sent by the group’s leader. He was reported to have been killed this month in Somalia.

Morning Star News – “A group of Muslims robbed two Egyptian Christians living in Libya, then tied up and shot them to death after the two Copts refused their demand to convert to Islam, relatives said.

On a rural road in Derna District in northeastern Libya on Wednesday (Sept. 25), a group of Muslims surrounded Waleed Saad Shaker, 25, and Nash’at Shenouda Ishaq, 27, demanded their belongings and started beating them. During the strong-arm robbery, the relatives said, the Muslims demanded that Shaker and Ishaq recite the shahada, the declaration of conversion to Islam. When the two Orthodox Coptic Christians refused, the group of Muslims tied them up and shot them.

Later that day, a shepherd found Shaker and Ishaq in the desert, and they were taken to Derna Hospital. Shaker was dead upon arrival at the hospital, according to a member of Ishaq’s family who requested anonymity. Gamel Saleem, a cousin of Shaker who saw his body, said the skull had been beaten in. Shaker’s death certificate identifies injuries to his head as the cause of death.

Ishaq initially survived the attack, and before he died he was able to give details about the assault to a relative, also resident in Libya. Escorting the body back to Upper Egypt for burial, the relative relayed the details to Ishaq’s family and the Shaker family.

No one has been arrested in connection with the killings. The attack marks the third time in two weeks that a Coptic Christian has been robbed and killed in Derna District, which along with the surrounding region is known as a hotbed of extremist Islamic activity.” Read more.

‘Perfectly Round Ball Of Fire’ Reported Over Delaware, ‘I’ve Never Seen Anything That Big’

Delaware Online – “A large fireball was seen streaking through the night sky by at least 21 people – three of them from Delaware – about 7:30 p.m. Sunday. Witnesses reported the sighting on the American Meteor Society’s website.

Middletown-area resident Dan Foraker said he also spotted it, and described the meteor as a ‘perfectly round ball of fire.’

Foraker, who lives near Drawyers Creek off Shallcross Lake Road, said he was sitting outside talking on the phone with his son about the Redskins game, when all of a sudden a ball of fire appeared over the line of trees.

‘I’ve never seen anything that big. I didn’t know if there was a plane going down,’ he said. ‘It lasted for about six seconds and went down behind the trees. I didn’t hear a sound, but I was waiting to hear a loud boom.’

Foraker said he called police and a county officer showed up later and said that the state police helicopter was the only aircraft that had been up in the air about that time.

A supervisor with the New Castle County fire board today said no calls were received about that time and no one was dispatched on any calls for a plane down.

The American Meteor Society, meanwhile, is investigating 21 reports from witnesses who saw this fireball over Washington, D.C., Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Virginia and West Virginia between 7 p.m. and 8:13 p.m.” Read more.

Obama Hanging Hopes For ‘Productive Nuclear Negotiations’ With Iran … On A Phony Fatwa

Obama cites a faked Iranian fatwa banning nuclear weapons while ignoring the one that permits them. Hanging high hopes on hoaxes will do nothing but leave you hanging high and dry. All of Iran’s enemies understand this, except for the only one needed to stop them …

Fox News – “President Obama could be hanging his hopes for productive nuclear negotiations with Iran on a hoax, according to one Middle East-focused think tank.

On Friday, Obama cited a ‘fatwa,’ or religious edict, from Iran’s all-powerful Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, banning the pursuit of nuclear weapons.

‘I do believe that there is a basis for a resolution [because] Iran’s Supreme Leader has issued a fatwa against the development of nuclear weapons,’ Obama told reporters.

But although talk of such a fatwa has been around for at least eight years, there’s no evidence it was ever issued, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute, which flatly called the fatwa a hoax. MEMRI claims the phony fatwa is promoted by Iranian diplomats and Turkey’s Islamist prime minister, Recep Erdogan.

‘There is no such fatwa. It is a lie from the Iranians, a deception, and it is tragic that President Obama has endorsed it,’ MEMRI Founder and President Yigal Carmon told FoxNews.com.

In July, the Iranian website Tasnimnews, which is linked to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, published an extensive list of 493 fatwas from Khamenei dating back to 2004. None forbade the pursuit of nuclear weapons. Carmon noted that Khamenei in 2012 was asked directly about the morality of pursuing nuclear weapons, and his answer was telling.

The question asked to Khamenei was, in light of a Koran teaching that orders Muslims to ‘prepare against [non-Muslims] whatever you are able of power and of steeds of war by which you may terrify the enemy of Allah,’ is it also ‘forbidden to obtain nuclear weapons, as per your ruling that their use is prohibited?’

Khamenei’s answer, according to MEMRI, was ‘your letter has no jurisprudential aspect. When it has a jurisprudent position, then it will be possible to answer it.’

Carmon said if a fatwa against the pursuit of nuclear weapons existed, Khamenei would have cited it.” Read more.

Thousands of elite Philippine troops battle Muslim guerrillas of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) who raze churches before they occupy the key port of Zamboanga.

Christians in the southern Egyptian town of Dalga are forced to watch as a Muslim mob set fire to an ancient monastery and steal its contents.

All played out against the backdrop of a shopping mall terror attack in Kenya where Muslims are asked to leave before hostages are taken.

Yes, just another instalment of terror that is matched only by the silence of political leaders refusing to speak in support of the persecuted.

From Algeria in the west to Iran in the east and deep into Asia, Christians are being kidnapped, terrorized, tortured, raped and murdered.

Their fate looks to be at risk in the very heartlands that first inspired their faith, as well as in the furthest-flung corners of the globe.

The cause is aggressive Muslim fundamentalists seeking to cleanse Christians from land they have occupied for thousands of years.

Their fate is barely remarked and little acknowledged – with Canada among the honourable exceptions.

Foreign Affairs Minister John Baird has used a variety of stages and occasions to defend Christians along with a host of other persecuted minorities.

Here are a few instances:

‘I stand with Roman Catholic priests and other Christian clergy and their laity, as they are driven underground to worship in China while their leaders are detained,’ he said in 2011.

Here was Baird 12 months later.

‘We (Canada) were the first major country to speak out about the attacks against Egyptian Coptics following the events in Nag Hammadi … and we deplored the New Year’s Eve attacks in Alexandria. And in Iraq, where al-Qaida has driven out many Christians and minorities, we implemented a program to resettle refugees.’

In the latter example, Baird cited Franklin Roosevelt who observed on the eve of global war: ‘Where freedom of religion has been attacked, the attack has come from sources opposed to democracy.’

All sorts of religions are attacked for a variety of reasons, yet Christians appear to be alone as they robustly back their right to exist.

Nigeria: At Least 15 Christians Killed After Muslim Gunmen Siege Village, Burn Down Homes

Morning Star News – “Muslim herdsmen killed 15 Christians in Nigeria’s Kaduna state Saturday morning (Sept. 28), two days after suspected Islamic extremists in Yobe state killed an Anglican pastor and his son, sources said.

The ethnic Fulani Muslims in Kaduna state in central Nigeria, where attacks against Christians have increased markedly in the past year with the aid of outside Muslim extremists, invaded predominantly Christian Zangang village in the Kaura Local Government Area from the east and south, ‘killing the villagers and burning down houses,’ said the Rev. Yakubu Gandu Nkut.

‘The Fulani Muslim herdsmen lay siege to the village, while at the same time attacking Christians there using guns to kill and burn down their houses,’ Nkut told Morning Star News. ‘They attacked the village between the hours of 6 and 8 a.m.’

Nkut, pastor of an Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) congregation in Zankan, about five kilometers (three miles) from Zangang, said the gunmen also had machetes and knives. While a Kaduna state police spokesman said 11 were killed, Nkut gave the names of 15 Christians slain: Christopher Bakwap, Benjamen Ganda, Ladi Madugu, Adam Yakubu, Julius Barnabas, Garba Kushuwah, Martha Musa, Michael Aboi, Gaje Lufuwai, Kefas Yusfu, Dauda Yusu, Joshua Bikau, Andrew Bikai, Sheying Immanuel and Gideon Adamu.

Kumai Badu, chairman of Kaura Local Government Council, told Morning Star News by phone that 15 Christians were killed, several others were wounded and hundreds were displaced. Those who have fled have taken refuge in Manchok, he said.

The attack was the third this year by Muslim herdsmen on Zangang village, sources said. In those assaults, Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed ‘several’ Christians and also destroyed homes, they said.” Read more.

A Rider Called Death: Muslims Detonate Powerful Car Bomb In Busy Pakistani Market, Dozens Killed

CBC News – “A car bomb exploded on a crowded street in northwestern Pakistan Sunday, killing 37 people in the third blast to hit the troubled city of Peshawar in a week, officials said.

The latest explosion in Peshawar appeared to have been a bomb planted in a parked car and detonated by remote control, said police officer Zahid Khan. It went off in a crowded market, which is the city’s oldest bazaar near a mosque and a police station, officials said.

The blast damaged the mosque and nearby shops and caused many vehicles to go up in flames, said police officer Nawaz Khan.

The city’s top government official, Sahibzada Anees, said 37 had died while 75 were under treatment at the city’s Lady Reading Hospital.

Such attacks in Peshawar, which is the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, have claimed over 130 lives since last Sunday when two suicide bombers blew themselves up in a crowd of worshippers at a church, killing 85 people.

Then on Friday 19 people died when a bomb planted on a bus carrying government employees home for the weekend exploded in the Peshawar outskirts.

The bomb that went off Sunday was some 300 meters (yards) from the All Saints Church, which was the scene of last Sunday’s carnage.

A book shop owner, Nazar Ali, had just opened his shop when the bomb went off.

‘It was a huge blast that was followed by fire in vehicles. Thick black smoke covered the air and splinters spread all over. I saw people lying dead and bleeding all over,’ he said.

Many of the old buildings used in the historic Qissa Khawani market are constructed from wood which easily caught on fire when the bomb went off, said senior police officer Shafqat Malik.

Another man was shopping for breakfast when the bomb exploded.

‘Suddenly there was a huge bang and I fell on the ground,’ said Adnan Hussain, speaking from the hospital. ‘My cousin Rizwan is dead and the other is critical.’

One man at the hospital said that 13 members of a single family were among the dead. Mohammad Alam said that they had come to Peshawar from a nearby village to invite him to their son’s marriage. He said they were in a van near the station when the bomb exploded.

Separating The ‘Kafirs’ From The Muslims

By Bill Warner, American Thinker – “When the al Shabaab jihadi group from Somalia attacked the mall in Kenya, they gathered the crowd together and asked who were Muslims and let them go.  According to the media, they then started killing the non-Muslims who were left.  But ‘non-Muslims’ is not the word what the terrorists would have used.  No, they would have called them Kafirs.  (Actually, they would have called them the Arabic plural of kafir, kuffar.  ‘Kafirs’ is the standard English plural form.)

Why did members of al Shabaab do this?  Why did they ask the Muslims to leave and keep the Kafirs and start killing them?  Let’s start with the word ‘terrorists.’  Members of al Shabaab are not terrorists; they are jihadists, or mujahedeen.  That is what they call themselves.

So what difference does it make which words we use?  It makes all the difference in the world.  You cannot think precisely with imprecise words, and a Kafir is much more than non-Muslim.

The word ‘non-Muslim’ does not imply anything, except not being a believer in Islam.

Kafir, on the other hand, has enormous implications.  Kafir is the actual word that the Koran uses for a non-Muslim.  Indeed, one of the many remarkable things about the Koran is that over half of its text is devoted to the Kafir.  Think about that: most of the Koran is not about how to be a Muslim, but about the Kafir.  Every single verse about the Kafir is not just bad, but terrible.  Allah hates Kafirs and plots and schemes against them.  The cruelest punishments await the Kafir in hell, but who cares about that?  The real problem is what is promised to the Kafir in this life — torture, hatred, death, ridicule, rape, enslavement, political domination, and deception.

It is the same with ‘mujahedeen’ or ‘jihadist’ as opposed to ‘militant’ or ‘terrorist.’  The words ‘militant’ and ‘terrorist’ do not tell anything about the motivation of the militant or terrorist — only that he uses violence.

Notice that the words ‘non-Muslim’ and ‘terrorist’ are not related to each other; they stand alone.  There is no implication of one by the other.  But that is not true about ‘Kafir’ and ‘jihad.’  Jihad is carried out only against Kafirs.  Jihad implies Kafir, and vice versa.

Jihad and Kafir are part of a system of Islamic politics.  Mohammed preached the religion of Islam for 13 years and garnered 150 followers.  When he turned to politics and jihad, he died ruler of all of Arabia, and every Arab was a Muslim.  The religion of Islam was a failure, and Islam triumphed by the use of politics and jihad — war against the Kafir.

Islamic doctrine is found in the Koran, Sunna (Mohammed), and sharia law and divides all of humanity into Muslim and Kafir.  There is no middle ground.  Unfortunately, both Christian and Jewish leaders have bought into the fiction that Read more…
