Pakistan: Muslim Killer Cites ‘Blasphemy’ In Slaughter Of Christian, Witnesses Stand Idly By

Devout Muslims who are willing to die for their “prophet” are often willing to see you die for him, too. And thus we bear witness to Sharia lawlessness yet again …

Morning Star News – “Shouting that he was killing ‘an infidel who blasphemed against Muhammad,’ a Muslim in Karachi on Saturday (Sept. 14) slit a Christian’s throat as police and others looked on, according to the slain man’s son.

George Masih told Morning Star News that his father, 58-year-old Boota Masih, worked as a gold scavenger in Karachi’s Liaquatabad Gold Market for 30 years, and that the Muslim who killed him also gathered gold dust from jewellers’ rugs or work carpets at the market.

Police informed the family that a Muslim, later identified as Muhammad Asif, had killed Boota Masih by slitting his throat with a dagger and then stabbing him multiple times.

‘We were told that Asif kept shouting that my father was an infidel and had spoken derogatory words against Muhammad [Islam’s prophet] as he mercilessly stabbed him,’ Masih said. ‘A large number of people, including four policemen and private security guards of the market, witnessed the entire scene, but no one tried to stop the killer, who walked away waving the dagger in his hand.’

A police spokesman told Morning Star News that the four policemen stationed at the market said they were not present at the scene of the murder.

Masih said the family had registered case No. 226/13 with the Liaquatabad Police Station, but that police were making little effort to arrest the murderer. Liaquatabad, a bastion of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement party accused of involvement in Karachi crime rings, is notorious for abductions, extortion and murders/assassinations. Boota and his family live in another area.

‘We asked everyone in the market if my father had said or done anything to deserve such a brutal death, but not one person complained against him,’ he said. ‘They all said that he was a humble man and had never committed blasphemy as alleged by the killer. But if my father was innocent, why did the people just stand there and watch him being killed in this manner?’

He added that when police came to the murder scene, no one came forward to record a statement.

‘Even if my father had said something to offend the killer, is this how he should have been punished?’ he said. ‘The entire market testifies to his humility, but not one of them has come on the record to bear witness to the crime.’

Masih said that the police attitude had not changed, as officers had yet to make an arrest.

‘After my father’s killing in the presence of so many people, it is quite clear that any Muslim can get away with murder just by claiming that they had killed a blasphemer,’ he said.” Read more.

In a statement issued by its political arm, the Building and Development Party, it said: ‘Any harassment to Delga’s locals will ignite a state of ill-feelings towards its Christian locals, which needs to be prevented.’

‘The crackdown on Delga was made due to its anti-coup stance … ,’ according to the statement. ‘This campaign has proved that all claims of weapons stashed in the village are lies, as according to its announcement there was little or no resistance.’

‘The Islamic current has been freed of charges accusing it of assaulting Christians; as the attacks were made by thugs who have strong ties to security services,’ the statement continued.

‘These campaigns on villages that oppose the coup, in order to terrorize them, have failed. Instead, Delga’s locals demonstrated the same day the village was stormed, making it a symbol of steadfastness,’ the statement concluded.

RT – “The UK’s official religion is dwindling at a record speed, with the decline of the Church ‘approaching rock bottom,’ experts warn. While Christian congregations age, most British mosques are bringing more and more young people on board.

Public mosque services attract thousands of British Muslims, but when you check out a church, there are hardly a dozen participants at Sunday morning worship, RT’s Polly Boiko reports from London.

‘The decline of churches in the UK is long term, now it just happens to be approaching rock bottom. So 95 percent of people don’t attend church on an average Sunday. Christian worship is already the concern of a tiny minority of people,’ Andrew Copson, chief executive of the British Humanist Association, told RT.

‘I think over time even the weak cultural identity that still seems to be associated with Christianity will banish away, probably all over Europe, not just in the UK,’ Copson added.

The British Muslim population has surged dramatically over the past 15 years, increasing by 75 percent. According to the latest data from the Office for National Statistics, Muslims have the youngest age profile of the religious groups, with 48 percent (1.3 million) aged under 25.

Dr. Muhammad Abdul Bari, Honorary Chairman of one of the largest mosques in the UK, the East London Mosque, believes that’s because Islam’s family values are ‘really bonded, and families really try to nurture young people in the folds of Islam.’

He told RT that the Mosque he goes to, founded in 1910 and accommodating 7,000 worshippers for congregational prayers, has a congregation over 50 percent young people, who feel ‘part of the Mosque establishment’ these days.” Read more.

By Felix Corley, Forum 18 News Service – “Police in the Turkmen city of Mary have resumed pressure on relatives, friends and members of the Protestant congregation led by former religious prisoner of conscience Pastor Ilmurad Nurliev. One police officer threatened to ‘tear off’ the head of one of his relatives if she adopted ‘their faith’, Pastor Nurliev told Forum 18 News Service from Mary on 17 September. ‘We’ve got no peace,’ his wife Maya added. Officials are interrogating all those they can find who signed the church’s rejected 2007 registration application.

Denied state registration, Pastor Nurliev’s community – Light to the World Church – has been unable to meet for worship in recent years ‘because of the circumstances’, he lamented to Forum 18.

The interrogations, threats and insults come as Turkmenistan has adopted a new Code of Administrative Offences which will come into force on 1 January 2014. The new Code prescribes new punishments for religious activity in defiance of Turkmenistan’s claims to the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council in Geneva (see below).

Numerous religious communities have been raided and individuals have faced fines under the current Code of Administrative Offences for exercising the right to freedom of religion or belief. These include the leader of a Baptist children’s summer camp in Mary raided in late June …

The most recent trouble for Pastor Nurliev, his relatives and church members began on Sunday 15 September, he told Forum 18. ‘Yesterday [16 September] I was summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department, where I was questioned by officer Rahman Rahmanov.’

Many of his relatives, his wife’s relatives, and all those they could find of the dozen or so church members who signed the 2007 registration application have been summoned, had their fingerprints and photos taken, been forced to write statements and been subjected to threats and insults, he said. ‘They told me it was because of people like us that Syria is facing conflict.’

Pastor Nurliev said police even wanted to know about people on the registration application who had died or moved away or no longer had contact with the church.

Maya Nurlieva, the pastor’s wife, was summoned to the local police station on 16 September, where Captain Sapar Atabayev interrogated her for three hours. ‘He threatened, insulted and shouted at me for all that time,’ she told Forum 18. She had to provide a written account of her life, including information on when she became a Christian.” Read more.

France: Muslim Attacks Soldier In The Street, Demands He Not Act Against Islamic Terrorists In Mali

Islam verses Europe – “The victim wasn’t wearing his uniform. According to this 22-year-old man, it was indeed because of his profession that he was attacked violently, however, twice, in the La Source district.

He told police that he preferred to keep quiet about his job for fear of being insulted when he went back to visit his parents, in the district of La Source. However, this soldier was violently attacked at the foot of his parents’ building on 27 August. On that day, a neighbour, knowing his profession, reproached him with ‘defending the interests of France in Mali’, recalls an investigator. Adding actions to words, he struck the soldier on the head with his car keys, a wound that required five stitches. The attacker also struck his own sister who tried to intervene. End of the first act.

Thursday, 2 pm. The same soldier again became the target of the same man while he was waiting patiently at a tram stop in the La Source district. Kicks, punches: the attacker is said to have threatened to kill the soldier, telling him ‘that he had no business intervening against the jihadists’.

This time the man was arrested by the police, in the wake of the incident. He offered a blanket denial but the CCTV of the operating company allowed the police in La Source to confirm that blows were indeed struck against the soldier.

Aged 29, born in Libya and a citizen of Chad, the attacker ended up admitting the altercation but not the circumstances in which it unfolded. According to him, it was because the soldier got a bit too close to his sister that he came to blows with him. The Washington Times: Why Good Muslims May Be Considered Bad Muslims

By Bob Taylor, The Washington Times – “On November 7, 2012, Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch debated Boston College philosopher, Dr. Peter Kreeft, on the topic Is the Only Good Muslim a Bad Muslim? The title alone was thought provoking using the premise that in the eyes of a Westerner a ‘good’ Muslim is considered a ‘bad’ Muslim from the point of view of an Islamic extremist.

In daily conversations and media so-called ‘good’ Muslims are typically labeled as ‘moderates’ today.

The debate was moderated by John Zmirak who later wrote a story for Crisis Magazine with his observations about the evening’s event. A full transcript of the conversation can be found at the end of Spencer’s book Not Peace but a Sword: The Great Chasm between Christianity & Islam.

Among the most fascinating aspects of the dialogue was the context of the word ‘ignorance’ which has distinctly different meanings for both sides of the argument. Many observers, be they educated analysts or average Arab citizens on the street, emphasize that much of what drives Islamic extremism is ignorance that is frequently combined with poverty and a submissive mentality.

The word ‘Islam’ itself means ‘submission’ which translates to signify blind obedience, even if it results in death.

Spencer uses a more philosophical approach to his description but his meaning is the same when he writes, ‘In his absolute and unfettered sovereignty, Allah had doomed the Islamic world to over a millennium of intellectual stagnation and anti-intellectualism. A recurring idea in the Islamic world is that the Qur’an and Sunnah contain all that is needed for the proper functioning of human society, and everything else is either superfluous or heretical.’

That paragraph speaks volumes about the irreconcilable differences between the Arab world and the West for more than 1,400 years.

An article by Hadi Yahmad, chief editor of the Tunisian daily newspaper Al-Haqaiq, expressed a similar view on September 11 when he wrote, ‘We must acknowledge without shame that we in the Arab and Islamic region have become a breeding ground for terrorists… due to (our) cultural and ideological backwardness.’

Yahmed continues to chastise the Arab-Islamic mindset by saying it fails to recognize its own weaknesses while blaming others for all that is culturally wrong in Arabic society.  ‘(How) many of us have never asked themselves (sic) why these horrors, massacres, and cold-blooded murders take place on our lands?! Must we always lay the blame on others, so that we can (continue) to deny (reality), to forget (it) and to wreak vengeance?!…’

It is here that the debate takes on new meaning and the word ‘ignorance’ changes context. Spencer’s analysis of ‘ignorance’ as defined by Western media provides powerful insights as to why it is so difficult to negotiate with the Islamic world.” Read more.

Fury After Public School Sends Students To A Mosque And Gives This Controversial Alternative Assignment

Some might say yes, particularly those who believe that faith-related field trips serve as good educational opportunities. But what about when those trips include Islamic mosques and Hindu temples at the expense of others? A a controversy in Tennessee is brewing over exactly that.

Enter Hendersonville High School in Hendersonville, Tenn., a school that has come under fire after sending freshmen to a local mosque on Sept. 4, where they were reportedly offered copies of the Koran. In the wake of the controversy, the school has revised its field trip policy to restrict trips to churches, reports conservative commentator Todd Starnes.

The students in the school’s honors world studies class visited both an Islamic mosque and a Hindu temple. Considering that the pupils likely had little knowledge about either faith system, the assumption is that the trip was a cultural learning opportunity.

But some parents, Starnes notes, were bothered by the fact that Hendersonville students were not also sent to Christian and Jewish houses of worship.

Parent Mike Conner voiced his concern to Starnes, claiming that the kids were served cookies and punch at the mosque and that they purportedly heard readings from the Koran. They were, however, allowed to decline the Koran if they chose. At the Hindu temple, the kids were apparently led in meditation.

‘Our kids are being indoctrinated and this is being shoved in their face,’ Conner told Starnes. ‘It tells me they are pushing other religions and they want Christianity to take a back seat. They want our children to be tolerant of everything except Christianity.’

The blog DailyRollCall.com, initially reported that the children visited the Islamic Center of Nashville, a house of worship described as ‘one of the most radical mosques in Tennessee.’ Conservatives have criticized the center in the past, but it’s unclear exactly what the children learned on the trip. A call to the house of worship went unanswered.

But the visits aren’t the only controversial element worth noting.” Read more.

Canada: Muslim Charged With Murder After Stabbing Firefighter In The Head ‘Without Provocation’ At Toronto Café

The Rotana Café where the brutal killing took place is known as a hookah lounge and is located a few blocks from the Madinah Masjid mosque. By Tanya Mok, National Post – “An off-duty firefighter has died after being stabbed in the head ‘without provocation’ several times at a Danforth café early Saturday morning, Toronto police said.

Dominic Parker, 45, died from his wounds in hospital after he was attacked at 1:18 a.m. at Rotana Café in the Danforth and Coxwell Avenues area. Mr. Parker was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital around 2 a.m., and died from severe head wounds shortly after midnight Sunday. Police have charged a 23-year-old man with first-degree murder.

‘The family is completely devastated to have their husband and father completely ripped out of their lives so violently and so fast,’ said Jay Michaels, the media representative of Mr. Parker’s family.

Mr. Parker had been married for 23 years to his high school sweetheart and has two daughters, 18 and 19, both of whom are in their first year at Concordia University in Montreal.

Aside from being a firefighter in Markham, Mr. Parker also worked as a freelance set designer and had just finished shooting a Christmas commercial Friday night around 8 p.m., said Mr. Michaels. He and two friends from the production crew decided to have a couple of beers at a nearby bar and after several hours they parted ways. Mr. Parker went to pick up his bike, which he had parked on Danforth Avenue.

He decided to stop by Rotana Café first, where he knows the owner. It was while sitting on a couch sipping tea that Mr. Parker was stabbed repeatedly in the head by a stranger.

‘Police are calling it a completely random act of violence,’ Mr. Michaels said.

It’s unclear how many times Mr. Parker was stabbed but his most serious injury was a knife wound that went through the back of his head and through his brain, Mr. Michaels said.

Doctors surgically removed part of Mr. Parker’s skull to relieve some pressure but his wounds proved too grave.

Nabil Hurhuy, 23, was arrested in Scarborough Saturday afternoon and charged with first-degree murder …” Read more.

Muslim Persecution Of Christians: July 2013, Attacks Escalate In Egypt And Nigeria

By Raymond Ibrahim, Gatestone Institute – “On July 4th, the day after the Egyptian military liberated its nation from Muslim Brotherhood rule, Christian Copts were immediately scapegoated and targeted. All Islamist leaders—from Brotherhood supreme leader Muhammad Badi, to Egyptian-born al-Qaeda leader Ayman Zawahiri, to top Sunni cleric Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi—made a point to single out Egypt’s Copts as especially instrumental in the ousting of former Islamist president Morsi, a claim that ushered in a month of slaughter against the nation’s Christian minority.

Among other events in July, unprecedented numbers of Christian churches were attacked, plundered, desecrated, and torched. According to one Egyptian human rights lawyer, ‘82 churches, many of which were from the 5th century, were attacked by pro-Morsi supporters in just two days.’ Al-Qaeda’s flag was raised above some churches; anti-Christian graffiti littered the sides of other churches and Coptic homes. Due to extreme anti-Christian sentiment, many churches ceased holding worship services until recently. Dozens of Coptic homes and businesses were also attacked, looted and torched.

In the Sinai, a young Coptic priest was shot dead in front of his church, while the body of Magdy Lam’i Habib, a Copt, was found beheaded and mutilated. Four other Christians were slaughtered by Muslims in the province of Luxor. Entire towns and villages have been emptied of Copts, including the eviction of more than 100 Christian families from El Arish in the terror-infested Sinai.

Coptic Pope Tawadros II left the papal residence at St. Mark Cathedral —which had been savagely attacked when Morsi was still president— for a time due to death threats, and temporarily discontinued holding services.

Attacks on Christian Worship: Churches and Monasteries

Guinea: During a mob-led frenzy, Christians and their churches were savagely attacked in the Muslim-majority nation; some 95 Christians were slain and 130 wounded. In Nzérékoré, five churches, as well as the homes of pastors, were attacked by Muslim mobs. One priest recounted the violence: ‘The two Catholic and Protestant churches have all been ransacked and burned… Almost all the houses and shops belonging to Christians or people affiliated with Christians, have not escaped the fury of the attackers.’ Similarly, the Catholic area, including the quarters of the nuns, was looted before being torched. In Moribadou, the violence lasted three days and saw at least 10 churches destroyed.

Denmark: Woman Convicted Of ‘Racism’ For Speaking The Truth About Islam

The Copenhagen Post – “Danish-Iranian artist Firoozeh Bazrafkan was handed a 5,000 kroner [US$905] fine on Monday when the Western High Court found her guilty of racism.

She was charged by Aarhus Police of violating anti-racism legislation, section 266 b of the penal code, after publishing a blog entry in Jyllands-Posten newspaper in December 2011, in which she stated:

“I am very convinced that Muslim men around the world rape, abuse and kill their daughters. This is, according to my understanding as a Danish-Iranian, due to a defective and inhumane culture – if you can even call it a culture at all. But you can say, I think, that it is a defective and inhumane religion whose textbook, the Koran, is more immoral, deplorable and crazy than manuals of the two other global religions combined.”

Bazrafkan had appropriated the text from an article published by free speech activist Lars Pedersen, who had also been charged and convicted of racism after publishing it on the online newspaper 180grader.dk

An artist with a critical focus on Iran’s Islamic regime and religion in general, Bazrafkan argues in an interview with The Copenhagen Post that Danish anti-racism legislation should not apply to the critique of religion.
