Pakistan: Christian Man Murdered For Refusing To Convert To Islam

By Jibran Khan, AsiaNews – “Younas Masih died this afternoon after he was shot five times last Thursday as he made his way home. An unknown gunman fired at the 55-year-old Christian man. From the beginning, his conditions appeared critical. It is believed he was attacked after he resisted pressures from co-workers to convert to Islam.

Masih worked for a company in Chaman. His friends describe him as honest and reliable. Strong in his Christian faith, he was regularly involved in his local parish.

Speaking anonymously, local sources told AsiaNews that Muslim co-workers had began pressuring him to convert, which he rejected, standing firm in his beliefs in Christ.

Despite the fact that people were talking behind his back and had made repeated threats against him, he continued to work for the same company and stood firm against pressures and attempts at blackmail.

Last Thursday, his co-workers tried again, asking him to convert. A heated discussion followed that included insults and threats. When he went home Masih was attacked by a gunman who fired five bullets into him.

After he was rushed to a hospital, his conditions appeared critical from the start. Doctors removed the bullets and had him moved into the intensive care unit where he eventually died.

His son tried to file a First Information Report (FIR) with local police who refused to register his complaint. Despite repeated attempts, they refused to heed the family’s pleas for justice. Devastated by his death, the family now feels abandoned by the authorities.” Read more.

One Christian man had his Gospel music on in the shop; they beat him up and kicked him out from that shop on gunpoint. Situation Critical: Muslim Fundamentalists Driving Christians From Libya

02/05/2013 3 comments

AllVoices – “In an interview with the Vatican missionary news agency Fides, the Apostolic Vicar of Tripoli, Giovanni Martinelli, claimed that Christians are being driven out of the eastern Libya area of Cyrenaica by Muslim fundamentalists Vicar Martinelli called the situation ‘critical’ and the ‘atmosphere very tense’. Martinelli said that two religious communities had already left after pressure from fundamentalists. The Apostolic Vicar of Benghazi had been advised to take shelter before a large-scale demonstration scheduled for February 20.

Martinelli said: ‘In past days, the Congregation of the Holy Family of Spoleto who had been there for nearly 100 years were forced to abandon Derna. In Barce [located between Benghazi and Derna] the Franciscan Sisters of the Child Jesus will leave their home in coming days.’ Derna is east of Benghazi the main city in eastern Libya.

Martinelli also told Vatican Radio that Islamic fundamentalism now governs decisions in Libya. Before the overthrow of Gadaffi about 3% of Libyans were Christians but many hard-line Islamists were active in the battle against Gadaffi. Now in many areas they wield considerable power. Only a few thousand Christians now remain in Libya and many of them are expatriates.

Christian Copts, many from Egypt, have also suffered. In December 2012 two Egyptian Copts were killed in a blast at a Coptic Church in the town of Dafniya, with two other people wounded.

An article on ‘Religion in Libya’ in Wikipedia claims more than a few thousand Christians as being in Libya but perhaps the data is out of date: There are over 60,000 Egyptian Copts in Libya, as they comprise over 1% of the population alone. There are an estimated 40,000 Roman Catholics in Libya who are served by two Bishops, one in Tripoli (serving the Italian community) and one in Benghazi (serving the Maltese community). There is also a small Anglican community, made up mostly of African immigrant workers in Tripoli; it is part of the Anglican Diocese of Egypt.” Source – AllVoices.

Son Of Blind Sheik Imprisoned In US: Peaceful Methods Do Not Work With America

02/05/2013 1 comment

How dare the United States of America not heed the demands of groups sympathetic to violent Islamic jihad? According to this enlightened deep thinker, when Islamic terrorists are imprisoned by the US for terror-related offenses, it is America’s fault if and when other terrorists engage in terrorism in an effort to free their beloved icons of terror

Muhammed Omar Abdel Rahman: “We have taken all legal means (to free Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman), including demonstrations, conferences, and the issuing of demands. These are all peaceful means. After the fall of the Mubarak regime, we held several demonstrations, followed by a protest (opposite the US embassy in Cairo) for a year and 4 months. We issued many warnings that a lack of response to our peaceful demands might encourage some Jihadi groups, who view the imprisonment of an Islamic icon like Dr. Omar Abdel Rahman in the US as a direct affront to Islam. As we saw, some youths in Algeria took several people hostage, and tried to exchange them for Dr. Omar Abdel Rahman, and for the Pakistani doctor Aafia Siddiqui. We say: America should be held accountable for the actions of these groups. American got itself into this mess … It is America that proves, both directly and indirectly, that peaceful methods do not work with it…”

Egypt, 2012: The Year In Fatwas

02/01/2013 2 comments

Marrying minors is good. Peace with Israel is evil. Greeting Christians is banned. Read the full article below for a good listing of more inspiring, logical fatwas being decreed in the enlightened era of a modern 21st century Egypt …

By Raymond Ibrahim, Frontpage Mag – “In previous decades in Egypt, the fatwas, or legal decrees issued by learned Muslims and based on Sharia law, revolved around questions like proper prayer, when and where women should wear the hijab, and if smoking was forbidden or permissible.

That was then.

The fatwas issued in the year 2012—the year when Islamists, spearheaded by the Muslim Brotherhood, assumed formal power—are, as one would expect, markedly different, that is, much less restrained.  The popular Egyptian Arabic website El-Watan News recently compiled a list of 2012’s most ‘notable’ (a euphemism) fatwas.  I translate a summary of their findings below, augmented with additional observations:

Destruction of the Pyramids and Sphinx

In November, Sheikh Murjan Salem al-Jawhari, a Salafi leader, called for the destruction of all idols, relics, and statues in Egypt, specifically mentioning the Sphinx and the Great Pyramids.  He called on Muslims to destroy such ‘idols’ just as they destroyed the Buddha statues in Afghanistan.  Of course, several months earlier, in July, I reported how several prominent Islamic clerics were calling on President Morsi to ‘destroy the Pyramids and accomplish what the Sahabi Amr bin al-As [the first Muslim invader of Egypt] could not.’ Then and now, the MSM scoffed at the very idea, portraying it as a ‘hoax.’ To date, reports from Egypt confirm that ‘some of the statues have already been destroyed by those belonging to the political Islamist parties.’

Marrying Minors (i.e., Pedophilia)

Dr. Yassir al-Burhami, Vice President of the Salafi Da‘wa movement, and thus an authoritative figure among Egypt’s Salafis, who are playing a prominent role in Egypt’s new parliament, opposed setting a minimum age in the new constitution concerning the marriage of minor girls, saying ‘they can get married at any time,’ while insisting that Sharia law is clear on this matter.  Indeed, earlier, another cleric and member of Saudi Arabia’s highest religious council, after saying that girls can be married ‘even if they are in the cradle,’ explained the fundamental criterion of when they can copulate: whenever ‘they are capable of being placed beneath and bearing the weight of the men,’ which has less to do with age and more to do with individual capacity.

Permitting Lies and Hypocrisy

Dr. Yassir al-Burhami also permitted wives to ‘lie to their husbands’  about their whereabouts—if they were going to go and vote ‘yes’ on the Sharia-heavy constitution in Egypt, and if their husbands would otherwise have disapproved. The ever-expedient Salafi leader also permitted Read more…

The Real Muslim Brotherhood Reveals Itself

02/01/2013 1 comment

Yet even while these true colors come to light, many leaders in the West still choose to remain selectively colorblind

By Michael Weiss, NOW – “A nice sociological experiment would be to ask any child of average intelligence what he thinks a fit occupation is for a man who believes all at once that Jews are a subspecies who somehow maintain a monopoly on America’s sources of information, that commercial aircraft piloted by al-Qaeda agents did not destroy the Twin Towers on 9/11, and that everything one needs to learn about life is encoded in the original ‘Planet of the Apes’ film. I might question your sample pool if your responses varied far beyond ‘squeegie-wielder’ or perhaps ‘syndicated AM radio talk show host.’ Yet it is remarkable the ease with which a whole intellectual-industrial complex has sprung up crediting the fitness of such a person for the presidency of the most populous Arab country.

In the last month, we have learned that Mohammed Morsi thought, as few as two years ago, that Jews, or ‘Zionists’ as he likes to call them, are ‘bloodsuckers’ and ‘descendants of apes and pigs’; that Egyptians ought to ‘nurse our children and our grandchildren on hatred’ of them; and that a boycott was in order of all countries that support Israel, including the United States, which only provides Egypt with $1.5 billion in annual subsidies. When confronted with these comments from his not-so-distant past by a delegation of discomfited US senators, Morsi clarified that this was all a big misunderstanding, or rather a willful misinterpretation of what he’d intended. As one senator summarized the Egyptian president’s clarification, ‘Well, I think we all know that the media in the United States has made a big deal of this, and we know the media of the United States is controlled by certain forces and they don’t view me favorably.’

As a certain force in the media that doesn’t view him favorably, I think I know what Morsi meant by this. What I don’t know is what the New York Times meant in its editorial on the subject, wherein it claimed that such statements, which were revealed after Morsi had arrogated to himself dictatorial powers leading to mass riots in Egypt, ‘raise serious doubts about whether he can ever be the force for moderation and stability that is needed.’ What would confirm those doubts for the Times? And why is the presumption of ‘moderation’ still bestowed on a man and an ideological organization that have worked overtime to prove the opposite about themselves, much as excuses are still made on their behalf?

The original definition of an intellectual was someone who grappled with the Jewish Question and came out on the right side. Today, it seems, that definition has widened to encompass defenders of those who don’t even know or care that such a question ever existed. Yet ‘apes and pigs’ isn’t the half of it. Decades of tracts, sermons and observed behavior did little to prompt a serious investigation into the totalitarian nature of the Muslim Brotherhood by a truly impressive array of policymakers, journalists and academics, some of whom continue to resist the dawning of a new consensus by resorting to pure silliness: comparing Morsi to Abraham Lincoln, or reading in his ‘constitutional declaration’ of November 22 – in which he obliterated judicial review of his executive powers and declared himself the sole steward of the Egyptian revolution – the lineaments of a committed democrat.

Consider first that becoming a Muslim Brother takes as long as becoming a

Muslim Persecution Of Christians: November, 2012

02/01/2013 2 comments

Matthew 10:22, “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.”

By Raymond Ibrahim, Gatestone Institute – “Reports of Christian persecution by Muslims around the world during the month of November include (but are not limited to) the following accounts. They are listed by form of persecution, and in country alphabetical order, not necessarily according to severity:

Church Attacks

Egypt: Following Friday afternoon prayers in northern Cairo, Salafi Muslims went to the construction site of a Coptic Orthodox Church service center, hanging a sign that read, ‘Masjed El Rahman,’ or ‘Mosque of the Merciful.’ They claimed that the church did not have the necessary permits to exist, even though local officials confirmed the church did have them. The Salafis occupied the construction center for some 24 hours. One of them reportedly said: ‘We have a small mosque at the end of the street and the presence of a church here will offend us.’

Indonesia: Authorities in West Java sealed shut the worship building of yet another Christian Church (HKI) congregation that had been meeting for 20 years, after prominent Muslims persuaded residents to withdraw their signatures approving the church’s existence.

According to Indonesian law—and echoing Sharia law, which requires local Muslim approval for non-Muslim endeavors—60 Muslim signatures are required for the church to exist. Because many Muslims withdrew their signatures, police sealed off the building. ‘While other churches in West Java have faced loud protests from Islamists dedicated to close them down, last week’s closure took place quietly in 10 minutes,’ said one source. Also, a mob numbering in the hundreds and grouped under an Islamic banner surrounded two separate churches, threatening to use force to stop the congregations from building additional structures in their compounds. Some 200 police and military held them at bay.

Kenya: A blast at a church inside a police compound in the town of Garissa killed a police officer, who also served as the church’s pastor, and injured at least 13 other people. The Islamic terrorist organization, al-Shabaab (‘the Youth’) is believed to be responsible. Their latest strategy is to hire ‘poor youths from Christian backgrounds’ and use them to bomb Kenya’s churches. ‘Using Muslims with a Christian background make it difficult to identify and stop would-be attackers, as they can seamlessly blend into a Christian congregation,’ say church leaders.

Nigeria: November 25 was yet another bloody Sunday for church goers in the Muslim-majority north of Nigeria: 11 people were killed when the Protestant church of St. Andrew was attacked by two consecutive suicide bombings: Shortly after mass, one suicide-bomber drove a minibus, loaded with explosives, into the church. Then, after a group of soldiers and civilians gathered on the spot, another jihadi detonated a car bomb, leaving Read more…

Damascus Countdown: Iran & Syria Vow Retaliation After Israeli Airstrike — Is Something More Catastrophic Coming?

01/31/2013 2 comments

By Joel C. Rosenberg – “What will be next?

As the implosion of Syria continues unabated, Israeli officials are increasingly worried that weapons of mass destruction positioned on Syrian soil will be used against the Jewish state. Or that they will fall into the hands of anti-Israeli forces. Or be handed over to anti-Israeli forces. Prime Minister Netanyahu and the IDF top brass are also deeply concerned about Iran’s efforts to use the chaos in Syria to divert international attention away from stopping Tehran’s nuclear weapons program. As I’ve written before on this blog — and explore in more detail in my forthcoming geopolitical thriller, Damascus Countdown — the corridor between Tel Aviv, Damascus and Tehran is the most dangerous corridor on the planet at the moment. Iran is getting closer to building The Persian Bomb. More than 40,000 people have been slaughtered inside Syria. The world is not taking decisive action to stop any of this. And there is a growing fear in the region that a countdown may have begun to something even more catastrophic happening in the not-too-distant future. I pray that it doesn’t. But governments are increasingly on edge, and for good reason.

Here’s a snapshot of the latest developments in the last 48 hours:

‘Israel bombed a suspected shipment of antiaircraft missiles in Syria on Wednesday, according to regional and U.S. officials, in its most ambitious strike inside its neighbor’s territory in nearly two chaotic years of civil war there,’ reports the Wall Street Journal. ‘The early-morning strike in a border area west of Damascus targeted a convoy of trucks carrying Russian-made SA-17 missiles to Hezbollah, the anti-Israel Shiite militant and political group in Lebanon, according to a Western official briefed on the raid.’

‘Syria maintained that the accounts of a strike on an arms convoy near the country’s border with Lebanon were wrong. Instead, Syria’s military said, Israeli jets had attacked a military facility near Damascus,’ the Journal reports. ‘‘Israeli warplanes violated our airspace at dawn today and directly struck one of the scientific research centers responsible for elevating resistance and self-defense capabilities in the area of Jamraya in the Damascus countryside,’ Syria’s military said in a statement carried by the official Sana news agency. The attack killed two workers and injured five others, it said, and ’caused significant material damage and the destruction of the complex’ and an adjacent parking lot. Syrian activists say the Jamraya site is in a mountainous area of military facilities and training camps located on a heavily guarded road just off the main Damascus-Beirut highway. Later Wednesday, a U.S. official said the accounts of two targets—a convoy of weapons, and a military site—weren’t mutually exclusive. The U.S. believes Israeli warplanes bombed a Hezbollah-bound convoy of antiaircraft missiles, U.S. officials said. The vehicles may have been close to a military facility, they said, cautioning their information remained incomplete.’

Meanwhile, ‘Iran threatened that a reported Israeli strike in Syria would have Read more…

Pakistan: Christians Held At Gunpoint And Threatened With Death, ‘You Are Christian Insects … We Will Burn Your Houses And Church’

Pakistan Christian Post – “Today dated 27 January 2013, Mr. Shamoun Patras with some other Christians of Phool Nagar came to LEAD’s office and told to Chief of LEAD Mr. Sardar Mushtaq Gill the incidence that happened with Patras, his family and other Christians of the area.

Colorado: Outrage As High School Recites Pledge Of Allegiance In Arabic Saying ‘One Nation Under Allah’

01/31/2013 19 comments

Here’s an update on yesterday’s news out of Rocky Mountain High. What wasn’t pointed out is that in order to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic, students must use “Allah” in place of “God.” Although the word “Allah” can also mean “God” in Arabic in a generic sense, the insinuation of its usage is loud and clear and creates America into one nation under the god of Islam, not one nation under the Judeo-Christian God of the founding fathers

By James Nye, Mail Online – “Fury is brewing at Rocky Mountain High School, in Colorado, after a multicultural student group were encouraged to recite the Pledge of Allegiance over the loudspeaker in Arabic – replacing ‘one nation under God’ with ‘one nation under Allah’.

Following Monday’s pledge, Principal Tom Lopez has been inundated with complaints from outraged parents concerned that saying the Pledge in any language other than English is unpatriotic.

Standing by his controversial decision, Principal Lopez has said that despite the irate telephone calls and emails, he is not in any way or form trying to push an Islamic agenda at the Fort Collins school.

‘These students love this country,’ said Lopez to Fox News.

‘They were not being un-American in trying to do this. They believed they were accentuating the meaning of the words as spoken regularly in English.’

At the school, the Pledge of Allegiance is recited once a week and on Monday, a member of the Cultural Arms Club at Rocky Mountain High School read out an Arabic version.

The pupils sought the permission of Principal Lopez, who previously had allowed the Pledge to be read out in French and Spanish.

However, the backlash began from students hours after the recital and has continued through the week as angry parents have waded into the controversy…

The issue for some parents and pupils at the school is that in an Arabic translation of the Pledge of Allegiance, ‘one nation under God’ is replaced with ‘one nation under Allah’.

‘Obviously in Arabic, you would use the word Allah, but Christian Arabs would use the word Allah,’ said Ibrahim Hooper, of the Council on American Islamic Relations.

‘It’s not necessarily specific to Islam and Muslims.’

Principal Lopez has borne the brunt of the criticism of the decision to allow the recital – and some have gone as far as to label him as a traitor…

Other parents have accused him of ‘pushing a Muslim Brotherhood agenda – to push Islam into the school.'” Read more.

Flashback: Islamic Religious Authority: The Name “Allah” Belongs Only To Muslims, Denotes The Muslim God – “Perak Mufti Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria today told non-Muslims who insist on using the word ‘Allah’ to refer to their Gods to convert to Islam if they refused to accept that the word belongs only to Muslims… ‘Christians should not interfere with Islam, they’d be better off taking care of their own religion. If they want to use Allah, convert into Islam.’ … Datuk Dr Ismail Ibrahim was reported as saying that non-Muslims should stop demanding to use the word ‘Allah’ as the Arabic word is fundamental to Islamic belief and therefore exclusive to Muslims… ‘The name ALLAH is still something basic and fundamental to Islam. The name Allah … is not equal with the name Tuhan, God, Lord and so on in the usage of other religions,’ he was quoted as saying … In recent years, the Christian and Muslim religious communities have been engaged in a tug-of-war over the word ‘Allah’, with the latter group arguing that its use should be exclusive to them on the grounds that Islam is monotheistic and the word ‘Allah’ denotes the Muslim God.” Read more.

Israel Strikes Possible Weapons Convoy Along Lebanese-Syrian Border

01/30/2013 1 comment

By Roi Kais, ynet – “‘Israeli forces have attacked a target on the Syrian-Lebanese border overnight,’ foreign and Arab media sources alleged Wednesday, saying that 12 IAF jets breached Lebanon’s airspace on Tuesday.

The US-based Al-Monitor website quoted Lebanese sources as saying the target was a weapons convoy traveling near Syria’s border with Lebanon. The report has not been corroborated by any Israeli source and the IDF refused to comment on the matter.

Earlier, Beirut’s news agency alleged that the Israeli fighter jets conducted three separate aerial incursions into Lebanon’s airspace overnight.

According to the report, the jets flew over the En Nakura area for several hours, leaving Lebanese airspace at around 2 am. The report, citing military sources, said that the first incursion took place at around 4:30 pm, when two jets flew over the village of Ramish, leaving at 9:05 pm.

As the duo was leaving – according to the Lebanese report – two other IAF jets entered Lebanon’s airspace, towards En Nakura, leaving at 2 am.

A Lebanese Army statement said that ‘Four Israeli planes entered Lebanese air space at 4:30 pm on Tuesday. They were replaced four hours later by another group of planes which overflew southern Lebanon until 2 am and a third mission took over, finally leaving at 7:55 am on Wednesday morning.’

The statement made no mention of planes entering Syrian airspace.

A western diplomat and a security source said Wednesday that ‘Israeli forces have attacked a target on the Syrian-Lebanese border overnight.’

Despite the ambiguity of Lebanon’s reports, the diplomat – who declined to be named because of the sensitivity of the issue – insisted that ‘There was definitely a hit in the border area.'” Read more.

Number of Israelis Updating Gas Masks Nearly Triples – “The defense establishment’s concerns about the potential threat of chemical weapons from Syria and Hezbollah has not gone unnoticed by the Israeli public. The Israel Postal Serivce reported Wednesday that more Israelis are updating their gas masks and ABC kits. In fact, the number of Israelis changing their nonconventional warfare protection kits has nearly tripled over the past month. The public demand can be attributed to recent upheaval in Syria and the alarming possibility that the regime’s arsenal of nonconventional weapons may find its way to Hezbollah, as was implied by IAF Chief Maj.-Gen. Amir Eshel Tuesday.” Read more.

‘This Is Very American’: Fort Collins Students Read Pledge of Allegiance In Arabic

01/30/2013 2 comments

If “multiculturalism” is turning out to be one colossal failure in Europe, then why should we believe that it won’t be yet another colossal failure in America? In the minds of Islamists, reading anything in the “revered language of the Holy Qur’an” in a public setting is but one more step towards the Islamization of the West …

Revelation 18:3, “For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries …”

By Nick McGurk, 9News – “FORT COLLINS – A Fort Collins principal stands by his decision to allow students from a multicultural group to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in Arabic on the school’s intercom.

‘We do say the Pledge of Allegiance on Mondays at Rocky Mountain High School,’ principal Tom Lopez said.

Students have always said it in English. This year, a group with about 30 students approached Lopez with a request to translate and recite the pledge in other languages.

‘They had to go through me for approval, and I reviewed it pretty carefully,’ Lopez said.

First, the students translated and read French. Then they recited the pledge in Spanish last fall. Monday, students read the pledge in Arabic.

‘We have a tremendous amount of diversity in our school,’ Lopez said. ‘This is very American, not un-American.’

The response has been mostly positive, said Lopez, though the calls and emails from upset parents have been very negative.

‘I guess I’m getting worn down a little bit by how intense their sense of hate has been represented in some of the things they’ve written and said,’ Lopez said on Tuesday.

Lopez says Rocky Mountain High School is a place of inclusion.

‘When they pledge allegiance to United States, that’s exactly what they’re saying — they’re just using another language as their vehicle,’ Lopez said.

He says it’s likely the group will have other opportunities to recite the pledge in other languages, though he concedes it’s a wise idea to recite the pledge in English that day as well.” Source – 9News.

Israeli Intelligence Source Confirms Iran’s Fordow Nuclear Plant Crippled By ‘Mega Explosion’

01/29/2013 1 comment

Kudos to WorldNetDaily for being the first to report the news about Fordow. Hopefully mainstream media outlets will begin paying a little bit more attention to WND in the future …

By Chana Ya’ar, INN – “An Israeli intelligence source has confirmed Iran’s Fordow underground nuclear uranium enrichment facility sustained major damage in a ‘mega explosion’ that occurred last week.

Fordow, which contains at least 2,700 centrifuges for uranium enrichment, is located deep beneath a mountain near the Iranian city of Qom.

Some 200 workers were trapped inside the facility at the time, according to a report published Monday by The Times, a UK-based newspaper.

The report quoted an Israeli official as saying ‘We’re still in the early stages of trying to comprehend what happened and the extend of its significance.’ The source added that it was not yet known whether the explosion was ‘an act of sabotage or incidental.’

The official declined to reveal whether Israeli aircraft had been in the vicinity at the time of the explosion.

Iran has denied that any explosion occurred at the facility, claiming in a statement to the official IRNA news agency that reports of the blast were nothing more than ‘Western propaganda.’

News of the explosion was reported Friday by the U.S.-based WND website.” Source – INN.

U.S. Doesn’t Believe Reports of Fordow Explosion – “The United States said on Monday that it does not believe reports about an explosion at the Fordow uranium enrichment plant in Iran. ‘We have no information to confirm the allegations in the report and we do not believe the report is credible,’ White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters. ‘We don’t believe those are credible reports.’ On Friday, the American WND website reported that an explosion had occurred deep within Fordow, which is carved into a mountain.” Read more.
