By Matthew Vadum – “Americans have narrowly voted to reelect a president who will continue policies that will — not may — eventually lead to the downfall of the American republic.

The Tuesday election was a crushing defeat for the Tea Party-energized conservative movement but as a wise person once said, all defeats in politics are temporary. It is unfathomable to many Americans that a man they see as a wrongheaded, arrogant, corrupt Chief Executive could be reelected in a harsh economic climate, but as we saw with Franklin Roosevelt’s 1936 win during the Great Depression, it can happen.

For the time being I’ll leave it to others to hold forth on how best to take on the still-expanding Leviathan that President Obama is piloting but now that some of the initial pain and shock from Tuesday evening is beginning to wear off, let’s take a look at the grim future America faces if it fails to correct its course.

The economy is a shambles and thanks to the news-suppressing Obama-worshipping media, a huge chunk of the populace seems unaware of just how rotten things are. A quick recap: More than 23 million Americans are unemployed, underemployed, or have given up seeking work. The workforce participation rate is the lowest in 30 years. Annual household income is down $4,000. A record 47 million people are on food stamps. The national debt is now an astonishing $16.4 trillion and it’s probably going to shoot up even more.

This is just a smattering of the deeply depressing economic statistics that define the age of Obama.

Syria: Rebel Terrorists Threaten Terror If The West Doesn’t Support Their Terrorism

By John Glaser – “Gen. Mustafa al-Sheikh, the leader of the Free Syrian Army, warned that if outside powers don’t quickly back the rebel fighters trying to overthrow the regime of President Bashar al-Assad, the rebels might all turn into terrorists instead.

‘If there’s no quick decision to support us, we will all turn into terrorists,’ he said in an interview with the Daily Telegraph. ‘If you apply the pressure that’s been applied to Syria, it will explode in all directions. Terrorism will grow quickly.’

The US has been facilitating the delivery of weapons to the rebels from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey, but has been reluctant to directly give the rebels any lethal aid. Part of the reason is that the so-called leadership of the FSA is hardly recognized by most of the fighters on the ground.

Notably, al-Sheikh’s warning is not very far from reality. US intelligence has recognized for some time now that the great bulk of the rebel fighters are jihadists, many having come from foreign countries, and some even fighting under the banner of al-Qaeda.

While issuing this warning, al-Sheikh is also trying to convince the West to more enthusiastically back the rebels. He claims he has established a command structure and published a manifesto giving lip-service for human rights.

But those efforts to appeal to the US for greater, and more lethal, arms support is ridiculous. Writing a manifesto about the FSA’s supposed commitment to human rights, while at the same time warning that they may just ‘turn into terrorists’ doesn’t exactly fit.

A York Regional Police report outlining the hate crimes investigation of the East End Madrassah said a review of 30 school syllabus books found portions that ‘challenged some of Canada’s core values’ and ‘suggested intolerance,’ even if they were not criminal, this according to an article in the National Post.

The report confirmed some of the school materials came from books published by Iranian foundations, one of which is an alleged front for the Islamic regime. The Iranian-origin passages referred to Jews as ‘crafty’ and ‘treacherous,’ and contrasted Islam with ‘the Jews and the Nazis.’

Canada’s chapter of B’nai B’rith was pragmatic in their response to the news: ‘Of course we can’t be pleased. We believe the criminal code has a role to play, but at this point I understand that they carefully reviewed the material and they determined it doesn’t meet the criminal code provisions, so we can’t be displeased. We need to make sure that our schools and other public institutions aren’t used as vehicle to spread intolerance,’ Anita Bromberg, the organizations National Director of Legal Affairs, told The Algemeiner.

She added: ‘If the result of the police investigation in bringing this public is now to cause it to teach the Muslim educators to take this behind closed doors then we have a bigger problem.'” Read more.

Seismic Risk In Eastern U.S. May Be Higher Than Previously Thought

By Sid Perkins and Nature Magazine via Scientific American – “The surprise magnitude-5.8 earthquake that stuck central Virginia and rattled cities up and down the US East Coast last year was a record-breaker in more ways than one. Not only was it felt by more Americans than any previous tremor, it triggered landslides over a wider area than any other recorded quake anywhere in the world, scientists say. A detailed analysis of ground motions triggered by the event also indicates that Washington DC and other affected population centers could be at a higher risk of major ground movement than previously recognized.

Centered roughly 130 kilometers south-southwest of the US capital, near the town of Mineral, Virginia, the 23 August 2011 quake was the strongest to strike the eastern United States since 1897, Susan Hough, a seismologist with the US Geological Survey (USGS) in Pasadena, California, reported this week at the Geological Society of America’s annual meeting in Charlotte, North Carolina. The quake was felt from Florida to southeastern Canada and as far west as Wisconsin, she noted. By some estimates, as much as one-third of the US population was shaken by it.

Because of a variety of factors, including the age, type, temperature and density of the rocks underlying the eastern United States, seismic waves are transmitted more efficiently there than in the western states. The area shaken by the magnitude-5.8 quake was approximately the same size as that rocked by a much larger magnitude-7.2 tremor that struck Baja California in April 2010, Hough noted.

Quake damage
The Virginia quake was strong enough to do serious damage to some of Washington’s landmark buildings. The National Cathedral suffered about US$20 million in structural damage, including fallen statues and cracked gargoyles. At the Washington Monument, much of the damage was confined to the pyramid-shaped top of the 169-meter-tall obelisk. Analyses of seismic data gathered at an instrument near the monument suggest that accelerations due to ground motions did not exceed 0.07g. That would normally not be expected to cause damage, but Donald Wells, an engineering geologist at AMEC, a consulting firm in Oakland, California, says his team’s models suggest that passing seismic waves vibrated the tall, slim monument like a tuning fork.

Other data from the Virginia earthquake suggest that US cities on the eastern seaboard could be more affected by future earthquakes of a given size than previously thought.” Read more.

“Government officials in Brussels, Belgium banned Wednesday a popular Christmas tree exhibit out of concerns that the local Muslim population found it ‘offensive.’

An ‘electronic winter tree,’ will take the place of the traditional Christmas Tree and Nativity scene at the city center of Grand Place, reports Brussels News.

The electronic sculpture will stand 25 meters (82 feet) tall and consists of a set of television screens, reports Brussels Expat. ‘During the daytime you can climb to the top of the tree where you will be able to enjoy a panoramic view of the city,’ the website explains. ‘As soon as it becomes dark the tree turns into a spectacle of light and sound. Every ten minutes an amazing show will unfold.’

City councilwoman Bianca Debaets believes a ‘misplaced argument’ over religious sensitivities has moved Brussels to put up the light sculpture. She points to the fact that it display not be referred to ‘Christmas’ in any way to make her point.

‘I suspect that the reference to the Christian religion was the decisive factor’ in replacing the tree, she told reporters. ‘For a lot of people who are not Christians, the tree there is offensive to them.’

Many cities in Belgium have thriving Muslim populations. A 2008 study showed Muslims make up 25.5-percent of the population of Brussels, 3.9-percent of Flanders, and 4.0-percent of Wallonia.” Read more.

CAIR Poll: More Than 85% Of American-Muslims Voted For Obama

He was the first to take off his shoes and visit a mosque, invite 50 Muslims to the White House to celebrate Ramadan, to have a pro-Sharia Muslim faith adviser, to appoint a pro-Sharia Muslim US Ambassador to the United Nations and to declare that America was no longer a Christian nation. He was even the first to have scores of known Radical Islamists visit the White House hundreds of times meeting with top administration officials and the first to be officially endorsed by Anti-American pro-Sharia Islamist front groups. By Penny Starr, CNS News – “The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) released the results of an informal exit poll on Friday that shows more than 85 percent of American Muslim voters picked President Barack Obama in Tuesday’s election.

That number is lower than a similar poll conducted in 2008 that showed 89 percent of American Muslims cast a ballot for Obama.

CAIR conducted the informal survey of 650 American Muslim voters, with just 4 percent of respondents stating that they voted for Mitt Romney.

Poll findings:

  • 95.5 percent of the Muslim voters said they went to the polls on Nov. 6.
  • 85.7 percent cast their ballots to re-elect President Obama.
  • 4.4 percent of respondents said they voted for Mitt Romney.
  • States with the highest number of survey respondents (in descending order) were California, New York, Texas, Virginia, Illinois, Florida, Michigan, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Ohio.
  • 41.5 percent said they consider themselves Democrats. A similar number, 40.6 percent, consider themselves politically independent. Only 7.4 percent said they are Republican.

‘The fact that more than 95 percent of Muslim respondents went to the polls is a clear indication that they are fully participating in our nation’s political process and are part of the fabric of America,’ Nihad Awad, executive director of CAIR said in a press release announcing the poll results.” Source – CNS News.

Horror In Syria: ‘Free Syrian Army’ Rebels Executing Soldiers Were Reportedly Executing Christians

By MICHAEL CARL – “Reports from Syria indicate members of the Free Syrian Army have started executing Christians while claiming they’re shooting Syrian soldiers.

A video of a Nov. 1 attack in which black-clad Syrian rebels reportedly killed 28 men has been posted on Youtube.com. An Agence France-Presse story on the attack identified the victims as Syrian soldiers.

But Religious Freedom Coalition President William Murray said two of the victims were associated with his cooperating organization in Syria, which distributes aid.

The victims were not soldiers, he said, but civilians from the same neighborhood, ‘so they were all probably Christians.’

He argued that even a brief review of photos of the attack indicates the victims were civilians.

‘They were not armed and never were combatants,’ Murray said.

A human rights activist working in Syria whose name has been withheld for security reasons said two of the men were Christians.

‘Two of the men I am sure were Christians and were first kidnapped from their neighborhood, then taken out and shot,’ the activist said.

Act for America President and Founder Brigitte Gabriel said it’s well known that the Syrian rebels are executing Christians.

‘The Syrians without a doubt are executing Christians. They are notorious for their tactical torture of their enemies,’ Gabriel said.

‘Those people rising against Assad and being crushed are all Muslim Brotherhood whom Bashir Assad’s father, Hafez Assad, crushed 30 years ago in Hama,’ Gabriel said.

Gabriel added that the rebels feel empowered, which only fuels their hatred of Christians.

From November 23, the halal toothpaste will be available in specialised shops for €1.45 per tube – until now all halal beauty products in France had been imported from Belgium, Indonesia and Australia.

To obtain the official European halal label, the production and storage areas of the product are inspected by an imam to ensure they are free of any pork produce.

But because of press attention in France, the factory making the toothpaste wanted to remain anonymous, ‘because our other big-name cosmetic clients do not wish to have their brand associated with halal,’ the director told le Parisien.

Halal brand director, Nabil Hadj-Chikh, admits pork-free beauty products are not a big issue for all Muslims in France.

‘Some find this kind of thing is going too far, for others it is a sin to consume pork in any product, especially after we find out pork is in that product,’ he said.

Pork fat, usually in the form of glycerine, is used as the base of a few cosmetics on the market – its use increased after the mad cow crisis, when lipstick and nail varnish manufacturers stopped using beef fat.

According to world market leader Colgate, much of the glycerine used in its products comes from vegetarian sources or beef fat, but pork-based glycerine is sometimes used.

In France, it is estimated about 1 million Muslims buy halal cosmetics. For the factory producing the toothpaste, its biggest source of business will be exporting to Muslim countries.” Source – The Local.

Belgium: Muslim Politicians Win Municipal Elections In Brussels, Vow To Turn Belgium Into Islamic State Ruled By Sharia Law

The two candidates, Lhoucine Aït Jeddig and Redouane Ahrouch, both from the fledgling Islam Party, won seats in two heavily Islamized municipalities of Brussels, Molenbeek-Saint-Jean and Anderlecht, respectively.

During a post-election press conference in Brussels on October 25, the two future councilors, who will be officially sworn in on December 3, said they regard their election as key to the assertion of the Muslim community in Belgium.

‘We are elected Islamists but above all we are Muslims,’ Ahrouch said. ‘Islam is compatible with the laws of the Belgian people. As elected Muslims, we embrace the Koran and the tradition of the Prophet Mohammed. We believe Islam is a universal religion. Our presence on the town council will give us the opportunity to express ourselves,’ said Ahrouch, who refuses to shake hands or make eye contact with females in public.

A one-hour video of the press conference in French has been posted on YouTube. At one point in the video (0:07:40) Ahrouch, 42, says he will strive to make sure that the town council’s ‘motions and solutions are durable and definitive and will emanate from Islam.’

Ahrouch, who was sentenced to six months in prison in 2003 for the assault and battery of his disabled wife, also spends considerable time talking about ethics in politics and ‘respect for the other.’

Elsewhere in the video (0:25:40), Aït Jeddig, 50, commends Islam as having paved the way for ‘the emergence of European civilization.’ (He makes no mention of Europe’s Judeo-Christian or Greek-Roman roots.)” Read more.
