“(ANSAmed) – Porto Empedocle (Sicily), August 17 – An Egyptian man brutally beat his pregnant wife Friday after she took off her veil in an attempt to find relief from the scorching heat.

The woman, a 20-year-old from the town of Porto Empedocle in Sicily’s southern province of Agrigento, was taken to hospital for treatment.

The man, 19 years old, was stopped by police after the incident and charged with assault.

The couple live in Turin for work reasons and had come to Porto Empedocle on vacation, to visit the woman’s parents. According to the woman, whose father is Tunisian, she had asked her husband’s permission to remove the veil because she was having trouble breathing. The husband at first responded by yelling at her, perhaps in hope of intimidating her, she said. When she removed the veil, he beat her for her lack of respect and also threatened passersby who tried to intervene on her behalf.” Source – ANSA.

Egypt: Muslim Extremists Threaten Mass Suicide Bombings In The Heart Of Cairo

By Elad Benari, INN – “Army of Islam, the Salafi terrorist organization suspected of being behind the terror attack in the Sinai last week, threatened on Wednesday that it would carry out mass suicide bombings in the heart of Cairo, in response to the Egyptian military’s operation against Islamic organizations in the Sinai.

‘No one will condemn the people of Sinai if they react with a car bomb in the heart of Cairo,’ the group, which advocates for running Gaza according to Islamic law, said in a statement posted on a Facebook page affiliated with it.

‘The Muslim Brotherhood has begun persecutions, led by the agent (Egyptian President Mohammed) Morsi,’ said the statement. ‘Things are moving rapidly. Washington tells Morsi it will help him defend Sinai … The United States is entering Sinai on the back of the Muslim Brotherhood.’

The organization attacked the Muslim Brotherhood rule in Egypt, accusing it of heresy and non-implementation of Sharia (Islamic law).

It also accused the Brotherhood for persecuting of the Mujahideen, as evidenced this week when a death sentence was imposed on 14 terrorists who carried out a string of terror attacks in the Sinai Peninsula.

The Army of Islam also called on the Egyptian public to provide moral and material assistance to its members who are persecuted by the authorities.” Read more.

Iraq: Islamists Waged Jihad Nearly Every Day During ‘Holy’ Month Of Ramadan

Khaleej Times -“A spate of attacks that killed 82 people in Iraq overshadowed preparations on Friday to mark the end of the holy month of Ramadan, amid warnings insurgents would look to carry out deadly strikes.

The violence, the worst in more than three weeks, hit 15 cities across the country and left 270 people wounded on Thursday, just days before the Eid festival that is set to begin on Sunday.

The attacks brought the number of dead nationwide over the course of Ramadan, which began on July 18, to 404, according to an AFP tally. There has been at least one bombing or shooting on every day of the holy month but one.

Thursday’s deadliest violence struck in and around Baghdad, where at least 54 people were killed in a series of attacks throughout the day, security and medical officials said. Blasts and shootings also took place in the south, west and north of Iraq.

In the east Baghdad neighbourhood of Zafraniyah, a roadside bomb went off outside an ice cream parlour late on Thursday evening, killing four people and wounding 11. A subsequent car bomb nearby killed 22 more and left 30 wounded.

Also in the evening, an explosion in Sadr City, in the capital’s north, killed 11 people and wounded 46, while a morning car bomb in Husseiniyah, also in north Baghdad, killed six and wounded 32.

All three neighbourhoods are predominantly Shia.

Meanwhile, gunmen armed with silenced weapons opened fire on a checkpoint in the town of Massud, on Baghdad’s northern outskirts, killing 10 soldiers and wounding 10, security and medical officials said.

In the same area, a car bomb in the town of Taji killed one person and wounded six.

There were also attacks in Tal Afar, Mosul, Kirkuk, Daquq, Dibis, Kut, Al-Garma, Al-Baaj, Badush, Tuz Khurmatu, Khales and Baquba.” Read more.

‘Religicide’: Thousands Of Christians Forced To Flee Iraqi City Due To Continuing Violence

“SANTA ANA, Calif.– Mosul is now one of the most violent cities in Iraq with Christians and other minorities often targets of the violence.

As a result, thousands of Christians have left the Iraqi city since 2003 when U.S. forces deposed Saddam Hussein. The war triggered a wave of continuous violence in the second largest city in Iraq.

Before 2003, Mosul was home to 75,000 Christians. Approximately 70 percent belonged to the Chaldean Church, while the rest were Syriac Orthodox and Catholic. Now approximately 25,000 Christians live in Mosul, which has a population of 2 million. Many more Christians live in the surrounding Nineveh province.

Egypt: Supporters Of Islamist President Begin Crucifying Opponents To Trees, Christians Must ‘Get Out Of Egypt As Soon As Possible’

By Michael Carl – “The Arab Spring takeover of Egypt by the Muslim Brotherhood has run amok, with reports from several different media agencies that the radical Muslims have begun crucifying opponents of newly installed President Mohammed Morsi.

Middle East media confirm that during a recent rampage, Muslim Brotherhood operatives, ‘crucified those opposing Egyptian President Muhammad Morsi naked on trees in front of the presidential palace while abusing others.’

Raymond Ibrahim, a fellow with the Middle East Forum and the Investigative Project on Terrorism, said the crucifixions are the product of who the Middle Eastern media call “partisans.”

‘Arabic media call them ‘supporters,’ ‘followers,’ and ‘partisans’ of the Muslim Brotherhood,’ Ibraham said.

Ibrahim also says the victims can be anyone, including Egyptians and Christians.

‘It’s anyone who is resisting the new government,’ Ibrahim said. ‘In this particular case, the people attacked and crucified were secular protesters upset because of Morsi’s hostile campaign against the media, especially of Tawfik Okasha, who was constantly exposing him on his station, until Morsi shut him down.’

Ibrahim said extra brutality is reserved for Christians, but the crucifixions are because of Islamic doctrine, and are required by the Quran. The time and other details about the crucifixions were not readily available.

Center for Security Policy Senior Fellow Clare Lopez cited chapter and verse from the Quran to explain that crucifixions are not simply normal for Islam; they’re demanded.

‘Crucifixion is a hadd punishment, stipulated in the Quran, Sura 5:33, and therefore an obligatory part of Shariah,’ Lopez said. ‘It’s been a traditional punishment within Islam since the beginning, even though it’s not exclusively Islamic. The Romans used it too.

‘So, the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood haven’t the option to not include crucifixion within their legal code. It’s obligatory to comply with Shariah. And yes, it’s for shock value also to be sure,’ Lopez said.

Lopez includes a warning for Egypt’s Christians and compares the coming treatment of the Christians to the Jews in Germany.

Not only is it deadly clear that the “religion of peace” in no way means “peaceful religion,” it is also abundantly clear that Islam in no way means “religion of truth,” either. It is offensive to me when followers of the “prophet” Mohammed speak out of both sides of their mouth, claiming on one side to be offended when truth is told regarding the greatest atrocity ever perpetrated against the Jewish people in recent history, while on the other side praying for the day when Muslims the world over would themselves be given the opportunity to finish what Hitler started. These “schools” ought to be ashamed. But when even Germany, the very nation responsible for the memory of one of history’s most evil men, has willingly bowed down to the Father of Lies and chosen to protect the very ideology that inspired Hitler and the final solution, why should we then expect anything different from anybody else?

When the Prophet Daniel wrote in 7:25 that Antichrist would intend to “change” or “make alterations” to times and laws, it is clear in my mind that the “laws” were a direct reference to the desired implementation and subjugation of Sharia Law upon all non-Muslims, regardless of where they lived. In Scotland, 30 non-Muslim children from the Parkview Primary School recently were required to visit the Bait ur Rehman Ahmadiyya mosque in the Yorkhill district of Glasgow. At the mosque, the children were instructed to recite the shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith which states: ‘There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his messenger.’ Muslims are also demanding that Islamic preachers be sent to every school in Scotland to teach children about Islam, ostensibly in an effort to end negative attitudes about Muslims.

British schools are increasingly dropping the Jewish Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, according to a report entitled, Teaching Emotive and Controversial History, commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills.

British teachers are also reluctant to discuss the medieval Crusades, in which Christians fought Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem: lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques.

Virus Killing Hundreds Of Deer In Michigan, Oklahoma, Kansas, Indiana, Iowa, Arkansas …

“LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Hundreds of deer in eight Michigan counties have died from a viral disease that is on the rise nationwide because of hot, dry weather, state officials said Thursday.

Deer infected with epizootic hemorrhagic disease, or EHD, have been found in Barry, Calhoun, Cass, Clinton, Eaton and Montcalm counties, the state Department of Natural Resources said. Experts previously confirmed the illness had killed deer in Ionia and Branch counties.

EHD outbreaks have happened in isolated sections of Michigan repeatedly since 2006. The drought and high temperatures are contributing to this year’s uptick, the DNR said.

‘We are seeing a large die-off of deer in local areas. To date we have over 900 reports of dead deer across all (eight) counties,’ stated Tom Cooley, DNR wildlife biologist and pathologist. ‘Although it is difficult to see so many dead deer, this is still a localized issue and the regional deer population should not be impacted.'” Read more.

Biologists Believe Disease Killing Deer In Oklahoma – “Officials say a sick deer found in northeast Oklahoma was dying of a bleeding disease spread by a biting gnat. JPost – “Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad referred to Israel as a western ‘tool to dominate the Middle East’ and an ‘insult to all humanity,’ in a speech given at a Tehran rally marking the annual Al-Quds (Jerusalem) Day, according to Iran’s IRNA news agency.

Protesters held massive rallies in cities across Iran on Friday, marking Al-Quds Day, an anti-Zionist event which calls for the liberation of Palestine.

‘Today, Israel and the Zionist entity are against the preservation of all human rights and human dignity,’ IRNA quoted Ahmadinejad as saying at the event.

Demonstrators waved Palestinian flags and held signs bearing slogans such as ‘Down with the US’ and ‘Death to Israel’ at Friday’s rallies.

Iran’s Fars News Agency reported that millions of people were expected to take part in the events in over 550 cities throughout the country. The report added that the demonstration was not only against Israel and the US, but the silence of the international community at ‘the crimes committed in the occupied lands.’

Al-Quds Day rallies were also scheduled to take place in other countries throughout the Muslim world on Friday. One official said that in talks with Gulf nations, Iran ‘hinted’ that a couple of Iranian missiles ‘may lose their way’ and strike Qatar, Saudi Arabia or any other Gulf nation that allows Israel to use its airspace in any attack against Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.

Such threats may help to account for a reported change in Saudi Arabia’s attitude toward an Israeli strike on Iran.

Last week, Israel’s Yedioth Aharonot newspaper reported Saudi Arabia informed the Jewish state that it would intercept any Israeli aircraft crossing its airspace en route to Iran.

According to the report, the message was transmitted via the United States during talks with Obama administration officials in Jerusalem.

Saudi Arabia does not maintain an open diplomatic relationship with Israel. But the Sunni Muslim country, together with Qatar, Jordan and other moderates, views itself as threatened by the growing and opposing influence of Iran, dominated by Shiite Islam.

The newspaper said that rapes of children under 15 account for the largest increase. These notifications have more than doubled compared to July 2011.

By MATT STEINER and RYAN MAYE HANDY – “Colorado Springs police arrested five Iraqi men Tuesday in connection with what they called a ‘rare’ and ‘horrific’ sexual assault on a woman early July 22. The arrests included one man who was a central character in an Army’s sergeant’s memoir of an Iraq deployment.

Sarmad Fadhi Mohammed and Jasim Mohammed Hasin Ramadon were taken into custody on suspicion of sexual assault. Mustafa Sataar Al Feraji, Ali Mohammed Hasan Al Juboori and Yasir Jabbar Jasim were arrested on suspicion of accessory to sexual assault. All are in their 20s.

Lt. Howard Black, who heads the Police Department’s special victim’s unit, said the severity of the attack made it rare in the city, adding that the woman’s injuries could have been life-threatening.

‘We don’t see these types of assaults typically in Colorado Springs,’ he said…

According to police, the victim, a woman who works nights, said she went to check her mail outside the apartment building about 1:30 a.m. and noticed two groups of men about to fight. She tried to intervene and calm the men down.

Afterward, one of the men invited her to his apartment where there were three other men about 20 years old, police said.

The woman told police she talked with the group and drank ‘what she believed to be lemonade.’ She said she didn’t remember anything after that…

Police said all five men had established ‘lawful permanent resident’ status within the past five years but could face deportation if convicted of the crimes.” Read more.
