Bahrain: Qatar Uncovers Iran-Linked Terrorist Cell Plotting Attacks Against the Gulf kingdom

“MANAMA, Bahrain (AP) — Bahrain says a terrorist cell plotting attacks against the Gulf kingdom has been uncovered by security officials in neighboring Qatar and that the four suspects have links to Iran.

The Interior Ministry says in a statement Saturday that the four detained Bahrainis had a laptop containing sensitive security information about sites like the Saudi Embassy and the Interior Ministry building in Bahrain’s capital.

Bahrain’s Sunni monarchy got help from Saudi Arabia in cracking down on a Shiite-led protest movement ignited by the uprisings sweeping the Arab world. Both nations fear that regional rival and Shiite power Iran is aiding the unrest.

India: Police Detain, Beat Converts from Islam to Christianity in Muslim-Majority Kashmir Valley

“NEW DELHI, November 10 (CDN) — Police in India’s Kashmir Valley detained and beat converts from Islam and were expected to arrest Christian workers after Muslim leaders alleged that Muslim youth were being ‘lured’ to Christianity.

Police in the Muslim-majority Kashmir Valley picked up seven converts who were recently baptized in All Saints Church in Srinagar, a local Christian who spoke to the converts after their release on Nov. 2 told Compass. Srinagar is the summer capital of the northern state of Jammu and Kashmir and the main city of the Kashmir Valley.

The source, who requested anonymity, said police beat the converts and asked if Christians had given them money for their conversion. Most of the converts were from Budgam district, about 18 miles from Srinagar, and pastors there fearful of being arrested were in hiding, he added.

Senior Superintendent of Police of Srinagar Ashiq Bukhari was not available for comment.

Police got the names of the converts and pastors from a video recording of the baptism provided by Kashmir’s grand mufti (the highest official of religious law), Bashir-ud-din Ahmad. The video was later posted on YouTube.

The Rev. Chander Mani Khanna, pastor of All Saints Church, told Compass that he had been summoned by the mufti, who is also the head of the sharia (Islamic law) court. He said he would meet Ahmad on Nov. 17.

The court had issued the summons for Saturday (Nov. 12), but Pastor Khanna had a prior engagement.

India, home to the world’s third-largest Muslim population, has a few sharia courts pertaining only to civil matters.

Ahmad alleged that Pastor Khanna, whose church is affiliated with the Church of North India (CNI) denomination, was converting young Muslim men and women by offering money, and that therefore he must be arrested. The mufti told media that the video was definitive evidence that Muslims were being ‘lured’ to Christianity, although it only shows the baptism ceremony.

Pastor Khanna said the young men converted of their own will and without his persuasion.

The Indian constitution provides for religious freedom, including the right to propagate and the right to change one’s religion.

The pastor told Compass that the former Muslims, who were baptized at his church facility in August, were willing to sign affidavits saying there was no duress or allurement.

By Tammy Bruce – “Usually around Christmas time we can count on a variety of stories where bizarre leftist worshipping of political correctness imposes itself on civilization with obsessive efforts to eradicate the word ‘Christmas’ itself, and public displays of faith.

You know the drill; it’s ‘Holiday Trees’ and ‘Holiday Season,’ or ‘Winter Celebration.’ The left is thrilled we are a nation right now where Occupy Wall Street’s nihilistic thugs command the public square, while the nativity scene and baby Jesus remain banned as ‘offensive’ to one miserable group or another.

This, of course, has nothing to do with fairness, and everything to do with the atheistic and narcissistic left trying to impose its hopeless, godless view of the world on everyone else.

It’s one thing for the usual liberal Gestapos or the odd atheist to pull that craven cart through society, but now even more disturbingly it appears President Barack Obama himself isn’t even remotely trying to hide his contempt for Christianity and its importance to our great nation.

Just a few days ago, Obama and the White House went out of its way to issue a special proclamation for Eid al-Adha, the Muslim ‘festival of sacrifice.’

In an official White House statement, the president and first lady gushed about Eid and congratulated Muslims involved in the Hajj ‘pilgrimage.’

All of that is well and good, but what struck me about this special message was the reminder that this very same president deliberately ignored Easter this year, the most holy of Christian holidays, by snubbing Christians here and around the world.

In April there was disbelief that the White House issued no proclamation about Easter, let alone a personal statement by the president and his wife. Newsmax noted:

“By comparison, the White House has released statements recognizing the observance of major Muslim holidays and released statements in 2010 on Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Hajj, and Eid-ul-Adha.” On top of neglecting Easter, the president “also failed to release a statement marking Good Friday.” The White House did, however, “release an eight-paragraph statement heralding Earth Day,” which fell on Good Friday.”

Most of us recognized a problem with a man whose spiritual leader and father figure ran a church where pleading to God to ‘damn’ America was standard, but it now seems Obama’s contempt for this nation is personal and isn’t even something he bothers to mask.” Read more.

If Attacked Iran Threatens to Retaliate Against Israel With ‘30,000 Suicide Bombers’ From Syria

Some 30,000 Syrian and Palestinian men have spent the past three months training to infiltrate Israel in order to carry out suicide missions, the Iranian Fars news agency reported Friday.

The agency, which is associated with the Revolutionary Guards, reported that the men have sent a petition to the Syrian government expressing their willingness to help it through ‘any crisis’ which may arise with Israel.

The article mentions the last ‘Nakba Day’ during which five Palestinians infiltrated Israel and were arrested by security forces.

‘The petition said that those who signed it have passed military, combat and tactical trainings and are ready to tolerate the hardest conditions in Israel,’ the report said.

‘In case a crisis is caused by Israel, these men can give Netanyahu’s government serious problems.'” Read more.

Panetta: Strike on Iran Could Have Unintended Consequences – “U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said on Thursday that military action against Iran could have unintended consequences, The Associated Press reported. Speaking to reporters at the Pentagon, Panetta said he agrees with earlier assessments that a strike would only set Iran’s nuclear program back by three years at most. ‘You’ve got to be careful of unintended consequences here,’ Panetta was quoted as saying. ‘And those consequences could involve not only not really deterring Iran from what they want to do, but more importantly, it could have a serious impact in the region and it could have a serious impact on U.S. forces in the region.'” Read more.

Nuke Agency Reports Unusual Radiation in Europe Which Appears ‘To Be Continuing’

“VIENNA (AP) — Very low levels of radiation, which are higher than normal but don’t seem to pose a health hazard, are being registered in the Czech Republic and elsewhere in Europe, the International Atomic Energy Agency said Friday.

The agency said the cause was not known but was not the result of Japan’s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, which spread radiation across the globe in March.

The “very low levels of iodine-131 have been measured in the atmosphere,” the agency said in a statement. It said such radioisotope will lose much of its radiation in about eight days.

However, an official familiar with the matter, who asked for anonymity because he was not authorized to comment, said the release appeared to be continuing.

The agency said that it was investigating.

In Prague, an official at the Czech State Office for Nuclear Safety said he was ‘100 percent sure’ that the radiation had not come from any Czech nuclear power plant — or from any other source on Czech territory.

Speaking on condition of anonymity because he wasn’t authorized to talk to the media, the official said tests are under way around the country to try and identify the source.” Read more.

British Woman Gang Raped by Five Afghan ‘Refugees’, Europe Continues to Suffer From Muslim Gang Rape Epidemic

“The brutal gang rape of a British woman by five Afghan refugees has sparked a massive protest against illegal immigrants in a Serbian spa town.

The 38-year-old woman – who bravely managed to film the attack on her mobile phone – was repeatedly raped after befriending a group of Afghan men in a park in Banja Koviljaca.

Despite handing the video footage to police, only one alleged attacker – identified by police only as Abdurashid D., 25 – has been arrested.

Now local mothers have told police they are boycotting local schools from next week (nov 7) unless they clear out a local refugee centre containing more than 2,500 illegal immigrants which was built to hold just 120.

‘These people are always hanging around the parks and streets during the day causing trouble,’ said one mum.

ICC Discovers Deliberate Targeting of Christians in Islamist Attack that Killed 150 in Nigeria, ‘If You Said You Were a Christian, They Killed You’

“Washington, D.C. (November 10, 2011) – International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that on November 4 members of a radical Islamic group, Boko Haram, killed more than 150 people and bombed 11 churches in the northern Nigerian city of Damaturu. While the press painted this as an attack targeting the police, Christian sources on the ground are reporting to ICC that the majority of the victims are Christians, who were deliberately targeted because of their faith.

The radicals initially targeted police stations and business centers carrying out suicide bombings that killed more than 50 people but went on to attack the Christian dominated neighborhood known as Jerusalem, where they burned down 11 churches and killed anyone who identified themselves Christians.

‘It was a direct attack against Christians. They asked: ‘Are you a Christian or a Muslim’ If you said you were a Christian, they killed you. They were selective. They attacked 11 churches, they didn’t attack any mosques. After the incident, I saw someone who was slaughtered like a lamb in front of a church,’ said Idris Garba, the Yobe State chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria. Damatauru is the capital of Yobe State.

Garba also told ICC that Christians are now leaving Damaturu because of inadequate security adding that ‘the government has not shown any concern to the Christian community. The government doesn’t consider Christians human beings. It’s terrible. We have not received any help from anywhere.'” Read more.

Libya Heading Towards the Dominant Political Force in the Country: Islamism

By AYMENN JAWAD AL-TAMIMI – “Amid all the debate as to what lies in store for Libya, it is becoming increasingly apparent that Islamism will be the dominant political force in the country.

Indeed, this trend should already have been clear in the treatment of David Gerbi, a Libyan Jew residing in Italy who returned to his ancestral homeland in the summer to fight alongside the rebels against Gaddafi. Yet when he tried to rebuild and reopen the abandoned and desolate synagogue in Tripoli, he faced death threats, intimidation and protests, such that he was eventually deported. The National Transitional Council (NTC) dismissed this matter as one of no importance.

In this context, it is noteworthy that the treatment of Gerbi was in accordance with traditional Islamic law’s views on the status of dhimmis (i.e. Jews or Christians), for dhimmis are not allowed to reconstruct their buildings of worship or build new synagogues and churches.

Linked to the point about Islamic law are the recent announcements of Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, the chairman and de facto president of the NTC, that Sharia will be the ‘basic source’ of all law in Libya. Coming to specifics, Abdul-Jalil declared that a Gaddafi-era law that banned polygamy would be lifted, saying that it was ‘contrary to Sharia and must be stopped.’

The NTC chairman is of course correct that Sharia traditionally permits polygamy, being rooted in Quran 4:3, which allows a man to take as many as four wives. While the verse exhorts a man who has more than one wife to ‘deal justly’ with all of them, on traditional interpretations this does not mean treating them equally. Rather, as Ibn Kathir puts it, doing so is only ‘recommended,’ and even without equal treatment, ‘there is no harm on him.’

Abdul-Jalil further declared the need for future bank regulations to comply with Sharia, claiming that ‘interest creates disease and hatred among people.’ One should also compare his statements on the role of Sharia with the draft Constitution for the Libyan opposition, as reported on in late August. As Andrew Bostom notes, the most striking feature is the opening (Part 1, Article 1), which affirms that ‘Islam is the religion of the state, and the principal source of legislation is Islamic jurisprudence (Sharia).'” Read more.

“More than 80 victims and family members in the worst-ever mass shooting at a U.S. military installation are seeking $750 million in compensation from the Army, alleging that willful negligence enabled psychiatrist Maj. Nidal Hasan to carry out a terrorist attack at Fort Hood, Texas.

The administrative claims filed last week say the government had clear warnings that Hasan, who is scheduled to go on trial in March, posed a grave danger to the lives of soldiers and civilians.
