“Imphal, July 11 (NNN): A mysterious animal disease which broke out less than two weeks ago in Senapati district in Manipur has reportedly claimed more than fifty cows and buffaloes, said a source.

The epidemic continues to claim the lives of about 6-7 animals in and around Makhan village in Tadubi block of Senapati district, a villager informed Newmai News Network today while adding that the symptoms of the mysterious animal disease include excessive urinating and saliva. Animals that show signs of infection and symptom do not live for more than three days, he added.

The villagers are aggrieved that despite complaints being made before Maram and Senapati vet departments no one from the departments has turned up quoting lack of medicine and equipment to handle such eventuality.

The villagers of the areas and its vicinity have appealed to concerned authorities and departments and other concern agencies, societies, companies and individuals who might be able to help in reversing the situation. The villagers also feared that the disease might be transferable onto human if not addressed forthwith.” Source.

Chile’s Puyehue Volcano Grounds More Flights in Uruguay and Argentina as Eruption Continues

07/11/2011 Leave a comment

“Clouds of ash spewing from Chile’s Puyehue volcano have grounded flights at airports in the capitals of Uruguay and Argentina, where a major football tournament is being held.

Scores of local and international flights were delayed or cancelled in and out of Buenos Aires, regional airport authority Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 said on its web page.

The Puyehue has been causing air travel mayhem since it rumbled back to life on June 4 for the first time in five decades, belching into the air a huge volume of dust and ash.

Flights across South America – including hubs in Montevideo, Chile’s capital city Santiago and southern Brazil – have been hard hit as ash clouds swept around the southern hemisphere to linger over Australia and New Zealand.

The flight disruptions on Friday wreaked havoc for football fans arriving in Argentina for the July 1-24 Copa America competition, which has been drawing thousands of supporters. The regional tournament is being played in several Argentine cities.” Read more.

Indonesia’s Mount Lokon Volcano Alert Raised To Highest Level After Weekend Eruptions, Hundreds to be Evacuated

“INDONESIA will evacuate hundreds of people living near Mount Lokon on Sulawesi island after raising the volcano’s alert status to the highest level.

‘We raised the volcano’s status to the highest red alert level last night,’ government volcanologist Kristianto told AFP.

‘There was a significant rise in volcanic activity since July 9. The volcano spewed ash 500m into the air over the weekend

Today we will be evacuating people living within a 3.5km radius around the volcano as a precautionary measure, in case of a bigger eruption which may be accompanied by deadly searing gas.’

Around 28,000 people live within the evacuation zone but only ‘hundreds’ will be moved today, those in the path of the ash, as officials continue to monitor volcanic activity, disaster management agency spokesman Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said.” Read more.

Scientists Alarmed by Discovery of a Completely New Antibiotic-Resistant Gonorrhea Strain

07/11/2011 Leave a comment

“A team of researchers announced Monday it has discovered a completely new strain of gonorrhea that is resistant to all currently available antibiotics.

The international research team has dubbed the superbug strain of Neisseria gonorrhoeae H041. They say the strain could transform gonorrhea from what was once an easily treatable sexually transmitted infection into a serious public health threat.

‘This is both an alarming and a predictable discovery’ said Swedish researcher Dr. Magnus Unemo of the Swedish Reference Laboratory for Pathogenic Neisseria in a statement.

He and his team announced the discovery Monday, at the International Society for Sexually Transmitted Disease Research conference in Quebec City.

The researchers say H041 is highly resistant to cephalosporin antibiotics — the only class of drugs that are still effective in killing off gonorrhea bacteria, analysis shows.

Unemo says the development of a fully resistant strain was predictable because gonorrhea has shown a remarkable ability to adapt.

‘Since antibiotics became the standard treatment for gonorrhea in the 1940s, this bacterium has shown a remarkable capacity to develop resistance mechanisms to all drugs introduced to control it,’ said Unemo.” Read more.

Canada Rejects Palestinian Statehood Bid at UN

07/11/2011 10 comments

Canada again reiterates its support of Israel.  Viva la Canada!

“Canada is rejecting a Palestinian effort to win recognition at the United Nations as an independent state.

The move is not surprising given that the Harper government has forcefully highlighted its loyalty to Israel and the United States. Both oppose the Palestinian initiative.

The Palestinian Authority, which controls most of the West Bank, launched a campaign last month that will see it pursue a vote on statehood at the United Nations General Assembly in September — an effort borne out of its frustration over a peace process that is stalled.

The top Palestinian diplomat in Canada says her official delegation will still push hard for the support of Ottawa.

‘On the conflict, we would like to see the Canadian government taking a neutral stand, supporting the creation of the state of Palestine, supporting the recognition of Palestine as a full member state in the UN in September,’ Linda Sobeh Ali, head of the Palestinian delegation, told The Canadian Press.

Sobeh Ali also said her delegation is pushing Canada to recognize Israel’s pre-1967 borders — something Prime Minister Stephen Harper forcefully opposed, and managed to block from being part of the final communique of G8 leaders at their recent May summit in France.” Read more.

Italy: Mount Etna Eruption Closes Airports and ‘Knocks Clocks 15 Minutes Fast’

07/10/2011 Leave a comment

Bizarre.  If all the clocks were 15 minutes fast, how did employers know that everyone was showing up early?

“An eruption by Mount Etna on the Italian island of Sicily left a nearby airport closed and … locals turning up early for work.

The volcano spewed lava on to its south-eastern slopes on Saturday afternoon and winds swept ash further afield, stopping flights at Catania’s Fontanarossa airport.

The strong eruption – Etna’s fifth since the beginning of the year – was shortlived, but left the airport closed overnight.

Bemused Sicilians, meanwhile, were quick to blame the volcano after thousands noticed that their clocks were running 15 minutes fast. The fast forward time keeping has affected a wide spectrum of digital clocks and watches – from computers through to alarm clocks.

It was spotted when large numbers of locals started turning up for work early, and a Facebook page was organised for those involved to compare notes.” Read more.

Great Darkness in Egypt as ‘Revolution’ Hopes Give Way to Growing Islamism, Racism and Anti-Israel Venom

07/09/2011 Leave a comment

By Eldad Beck – “UPPER EGYPT – Maha, an Egyptian merchant in her 40s, doesn’t sleep well at night. Ever since the January 25 revolution, she is experiencing a difficult period. ‘In the first days of the mass demonstrations against Mubarak, my mother and me couldn’t even sleep because of fear,’ said the Christian Copt. ‘We didn’t know what will happen to us. Ever since then, even though the general security situation in the country has stabilized, our fears were confirmed.’

In recent months we have seen significant escalation in violent clashes between radical Islamists and members of the Copt minority across Egypt. It started with the lethal suicide attack in one of Alexandria’s main churches in the first days of the year, even before the popular protest against Mubarak gained steam. Twenty three worshippers were murdered and some 100 were wounded…

‘At first we thought that the revolution would put Egypt on the right path,’ said Maher, who immigrated to Canada and returned to visit his family. ‘We believed that the many minorities in the country would be able to live freely in a new society, yet today we no longer believe it. The Islamists are reckless and are taking over the country. It’s only a matter of time before they impose Islamic law here.'” Read more.

Depth: 18 km (11.2 miles)

“TOKYO, July 10 (Reuters) – A strong earthquake jolted northeastern Japan on Sunday, triggering an evacuation at the crippled Fukushima nuclear power plant but there was no sign of further damage at the facility or reports of casualties along the coast.

The Japan Meteorological Agency issued, and then lifted, a tsunami alert after the 7.1 magnitude quake which hit the same area that was devastated by a massive quake and tsunami on March 11. Officials said a 10 cm wave had been recorded.

‘The shaking lasted rather long and became gradually stronger,’ an official at Iwaki City, Fukushima told national broadcaster NHK. ‘I saw a book shelf shaking but nothing fell off. We are advising people not to go near the coast.'” Read more.

Former Czech PM Sued Over Statements on Islam

07/09/2011 Leave a comment

Will Milos Zeman, the former prime minister of Czechoslovakia, become ‘Geert Wilders Part Deux’?  Prague should follow Amsterdam’s lead and toss out this ‘criminal complaint’ before it even sees the light of day, or otherwise risk reinforcing the Islamist notion that pro-Sharia proponents are free to use and abuse Western law in an effort to advance their own.  If this is permitted to proceed, it will become yet another attack on free speech and Western democracy.  Do not allow the shadow of this creature to encroach upon the light of Judeo-Christian values and freedoms, otherwise the day will come when those who refuse to worship the Beast and who speak against it may not simply be faced with a criminal complaint.  They may be faced with an off-with-your-head ‘fatwa’ instead …

Sura 47:3-4, “When ye encounter the infidels, strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them …” (Sura 47 – Muhammed)

By Jonathan Terry – “Known for making virulent statements in the past, former Czech Prime Minister Milos Zeman is being sued over comments he made toward Islam at a June conference on Europe.

‘The enemy is the anti-civilization spreading from North Africa to Indonesia. Two billion people live in it and it is financed partly from oil sales and partly from drug sales,’ Czech news servers quoted Zeman as saying about Islam at the recent conference.

He was prime minister from 1998-2002.

Zeman said on Thursday that Muslims believe in the Qur’an like Nazis believed in racial supremacy and anti-Semitism and communists in class struggle and dictatorship of the proletariat.

He continued to say that Islam is far more aggressive and intolerant than present Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism and other world religions.

He added that the Qur’an includes passages calling for the subjugation, enslavement and even elimination of non-believers.” Source.

If Muhammad was not ‘the first terrorist of Islam,’ did he not say that he was, according to Islamic tradition? ‘I have been made victorious through terror’ (Bukhari 4.52.220).” Read more.

Iran: We’ve Fired Missiles to Indian Ocean for First Time

07/09/2011 Leave a comment

“TEHRAN – Iran said on Saturday it test-fired two long-range missiles into the Indian Ocean earlier this year, the first time it has fired missiles into that sea, according to state television.

‘In the month of Bahman (Jan 21-Feb 19) two missiles with a range of 1,900 km (1,180 miles) were fired from Semnan province(in northern Iran) into the mouth of the Indian Ocean,’ Amir Ali Hajizadeh, head of the Revolutionary Guards’ aerospace division, told a news conference some of which was shown on television.

Iran usually tests its missiles in extensive deserts in the heart of the country, so the firing into the Indian Ocean is an unusual move, aimed to prove Tehran’s longstanding claims it can hit targets beyond its borders…

The announcement came after a 10-day military exercise by the elite Guards that was designed to deter Iran’s enemies by showing Iran is ready and able to hit back at US bases in the Middle East and at Israel.” Read more.

Londonistan Calling

07/09/2011 Leave a comment

We’re not far behind

By Hal G.P. Colebatch – “British police — sarcastically described as the enforcement arm of the left-wing Guardian because of their zeal in prosecuting political incorrectness — have been accused of suppressing information about a wave of threats, abuse and violence in Islamicising areas of London, in particular the borough of Tower Hamlets.

Victims say police in the borough, fearing racism allegations, have ignored or downplayed cases where people — Muslim and non-Muslim alike — have been threatened or beaten for breaching ‘Islamic norms.’ One such victim, Mohammed Monzur Rahman, was left partially blind after being beaten by a mob for smoking during Ramadan. According to a local anti-extremism campaigner, Rahman reported the incident to police, but was told they could not take action because there were no witnesses — absurd, considering that the street was lined with closed-circuit TV cameras and filled with people.

Already Muslim immigration, concentrated in ‘Londonistan’ and other big-city areas, has reached a point where it is unsafe for Englishwomen to walk in many streets uncovered or for Jews to venture out wearing such identifying symbols as skull-caps. A video is being shown on the Internet of police apparently running in terror through the London streets from a mob bearing placards proclaiming BEHEAD THOSE WHO INSULT ISLAM and similar slogans. Even politically-liberal comedian John Cleese recently declared: ‘London is no longer an English city.'” Read more.

Islamist Terror Group in Nigeria to Muslims: Stay Away from Christians … Because They Are Now Targets of Attacks

07/09/2011 Leave a comment

“The Boko Haram menace has taken a dramatic twist with its call on all Muslims in Nigeria to stay away from Christians, Security Agents, Government institutions and functions or face death.

It maintained that since the present Federal Government is not Islamic, every employee is considered an infidel marked for elimination.

This came on the heels of reports that the group just stormed the divisional police headquarters in Toro Local Government area of Bauchi state, carting away arms and ammunition. It was not clear if any police officer was murdered.

The deadly group urged Muslims to stay away from Christians, their houses, businesses and churches because they are targets of attacks.

… ‘This is a government that is not Islamic. Therefore, all its employees-Muslims and non-Muslims are Infidels. This is a Government which naturally fights Islam because Muslims were killed were killed in Zagon Kataf, in Jos and Southern Kaduna but the perpetrators have never been prosecuted by the so-called existing laws of the land. Mosques were destroyed and punishment for this is death. Therefore, we have the right to kill them all. But if there are people who profess Islam and do not take part in Government or Western Education, their blood and wealth are sacred unless otherwise.'” Read more.
