‘Dozens of churches burned in Niger by Muslim group,’ Alabama Baptist, March 12, 2015 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

NIAMEY, Niger — At least 68 churches, two of which were Baptist, have been burned in the West African country of Niger.

Panlieba Tchalieni, president of the Union of Evangelical Baptist Churches of Niger, reported that the church burnings, carried out by Muslim extremist group Boko Haram, occurred in the Zinder region and Niamey.

“In terms of Baptist churches in Niger, we have two churches that are burned: the first evangelical church in Niger built in 1928 and another behind the Niger River built 15 years ago,” Tchalieni said.

Boko Haram, a Nigerian-based radical jihadist group that seeks to establish Sharia law, has extended its activities to other countries in West Africa, including Niger, where it has carried out recent attacks in the southeast.

Thousands of civilians fled their homes in the southeastern Niger town of Diffa. The area was already under stress, providing refuge to some 150,000 people who crossed the border to escape the violence in northern Nigeria.

Niger, which shares much of its southern border with Nigeria, declared a 15-day state of emergency in Diffa after a series of attacks by Boko Haram….

USA Today – “Armed gunmen stormed a university in northern Kenya on Thursday, killing at least 21 and seriously wounding 65, police said. More than 500 students remain unaccounted for.

Heavy gunfire was reported at the Garissa University campus as the Kenyan military tried to end the siege. The Somali-based al-Shabab terrorist group claimed responsibility for the attack and said they have taken hostages.

Police Inspector-General Joseph Boinett said there was a shootout between the attackers and police officers who were guarding the students’ dorms. ‘We have the reports that the attackers shot aimlessly while inside the university compound,’ he said.

Police said the gunmen killed two guards and injured a student while trying to access the premises. Police said they arrested at least one terrorist who was escaping the scene after the attack.

Students who were able to escape said gunmen stormed the university, setting off explosives and shooting people on the campus just after 5 a.m. local time.

‘Most of us were asleep when the incident happened,’ said Nicholas Ntulu, a student at the university. ‘We heard heavy gunfire and explosions. Every person ran for dear life as we passed the gunmen. Several (students) were shot dead. I only saw three gunmen heading to the hostels.

‘There was nobody to help us at the time of the attack,’ he added. ‘The police officers took more than an hour to arrive at the scene.’

President Uhuru Kenyatta urged Kenyans to stay calm.

‘This is a moment for everyone throughout the country to be vigilant as we continue to confront and defeat our enemies,’ he said.

Kenyatta also ordered the inspector-general of police to accelerate the applications of 10,000 recruits for the Kenya Police College.

‘We have suffered unnecessarily due to shortage of security personnel,’ he said. ‘Kenya badly needs additional officers, and I will not keep the nation waiting.’

Frightened students rescued from the university were gathered at a military camp near the Garissa airstrip.

‘The sounds of gunfire was all over — we couldn’t tell what was the right direction to go to be safe,’ said Ann Musyoka, a second year student. ‘We had to face the gunmen — they shot several people as we escaped towards the gate.’

Schools officials said students reported the gunmen attended morning prayers at the campus mosque before heading to the dorm. Students also said that the gunmen were separating Christians from Muslims.” Read more.

AsiaNews – “Initial ‘reports mentioned 90 people abducted but for others the actual number is greater, perhaps 150. A church was destroyed, at least three Assyrian villages have been occupied and people have had to flee. We do not have accurate information, but the initial evidence points to a tragic situation,’ said Mgr Georges Abou Khazen, Latin apostolic vicar to Aleppo.

The prelate spoke to AsiaNews about Monday’s attack by the Islamic State group against Assyrian villages like Tel Tamar, Tel Shamiran, Tel Hermuz, Goran Tel and Tel Khareta, in north-eastern Syria. Jihadists reportedly raped a woman and then murdered her, but the information could not be confirmed.

Whilst everyone is suffering, ‘Christians feel they have been abandoned,’ said Mgr Mario Zenari, apostolic nuncio to Damascus.

Bassam Ishak, president of the Syriac National Council, reports that latest figure for abducted Christians is at least 150, more than the early figure of 90. They were taken in Al-Hasakah Governorate, north-east of the country, where Assyrian Christian communities have lived for centuries.

Some reports indicate that Islamic State militants killed some hostages. ‘Jihadists have taken a lot of people, including women, the elderly and children,’ said a local source, who requested anonymity for security reasons. ‘They burnt their houses, and torched a church.’ And ‘At least six’ people were killed. The terrorists ‘also raped a woman before killing her.’

The Syriac Military Council, a Christian paramilitary organisation, said that the IS attack on Christian villages was an act of revenge following jihadist defeat in Kobane and other villages in the area, following the Peshmerga offensive and international coalition air strikes.

The apostolic nuncio in Damascus agrees. ‘They came down from the mountains around 3 am Monday morning, and attacked an area largely inhabited by Assyrian-Nestorian,’ he told AsiaNews.

This a ‘high risk area.’ Some ‘four or five months ago, I received a text message from the bishop of Hassakah, in which he warned that the danger of a jihadist invasion was high.’

After they were pushed out of Kobane, ‘they shifted to these villages to seize more land,’ Mgr Zenari explained. Now Christians feel abandoned, he added.  However, everyone has suffered. ‘I see blood everywhere, in the cities, in the neighbourhoods. The desert has changed colour. Biggest Solar Eclipse Since 1999 To Disrupt Power Supplies, Block Out Up To 95% Of Sunlight In Parts Of Europe

Shabbat HaChodesh, the Sabbath before the month of Passover, will begin at sundown on March 20th, the same day as this solar eclipse. In Jewish lore, there is a spiritual significance to a solar eclipse. According to Issue 247 of “Ask the Rabbi” in August 1999:

At the time when the sun is eclipsed, it is an unfavorable period for the world. A parable: This can be compared to a human king who made a feast for his subjects, and placed a lantern before them. When he grew angry with them, he told his servant, “Take away the lantern from before them, and place them in darkness!” (Talmud Bavli, Succah 29a)

The king is G-d, the King of Kings; the people at the table are ourselves; the lantern is the sun. The moon obscuring the sun is the king’s servant who takes away the lantern. Although eclipses can be described in entirely natural terms and occur at set intervals, they nevertheless indicate that the period is one of Divine retribution for various sins.

So, a solar eclipse signifies a harsh period. But an eclipse does not mean that the sun has been extinguished (contrary to what everyone else in the world thought)! The servant did not extinguish the lantern; he merely prevented it from illuminating the king’s subjects. The sun shines as merrily as ever during an eclipse, even if we cannot perceive its light.

Many eras in history have been dark for us. But during these times, we should remember that G-d’s light has not been extinguished; it is merely in a state of hester panim, hiddenness. The sun is not extinguished during an eclipse, nor does it move away; it is merely concealed. And just as the sunlight always emerges from its eclipse, so too are all situations of hester panim only temporary, destined to be followed by the light of G-d’s redemption.

Energy experts warned there could be possible blackouts in the biggest solar eclipse since 1999.

Nearly 90 per cent of the sun’s rays will be blocked out in parts of Europe on March 20.

In London and the South East, 85 per cent of the sun will be obscured by the moon whilst in northern Scotland, more than 95 per cent will be covered.

The National Grid has warned that solar power output in Britain will halve during the event.

It is unlikely to cause problems as so little electricity comes from solar power im the UK but other parts of Europe come be plunged into darkness.

The European Network Transmission System Operators for Electricity said: ‘The risk of incident cannot be completely ruled out. Solar eclipses have happened before but with the increase of installed photovoltaic energy generation, the risk of an incident could be serious without appropriate countermeasures.’

The organisation said it had been planning for months so that suppliers across Europe provide more energy from other power stations during the hours that solar energy supplies are hit.” Read more.

Of the 62, 8 will occur on Biblical Feast Days, so they are called ‘Biblical Tetrads’. Egypt: Muslim Children Idolize ISIS, Pretend To Behead Christians On Video

The Clarion Project – “Egyptian children have released an online video imitating ISIS’s slaughter of Egyptians Copts in Libya. In the short clip they imitate the jihadists slaughtering their prisoners, using sticks for knives.

One of the kids, playing the role of the leader and holding a stick for a sword, said ‘we are slaughtering the children, women and old people’ after that he commands his ‘fighters’ to carry out the ‘slaughter.’

The clip was filmed in the city of El-Mahalla in the Nile delta.

Dr. Yasri Abdel Muhsen, an academic psychologist, told Al-Arabiya, that publishing ISIS’ clips makes jihadists into heroes in the imagination of children, especially if you understand that the kids feel a kind of uniqueness watching those clips again and again.

He emphasized that watching and re-watching the clips causes the imagination to become mixed with reality. He noted that psychological studies show that if a child gets three hours of indirect education (such as through watching these videos) it affects 70% of their behavior. When a child watches ISIS’ crimes, he is being influenced by an unconscious will to imitate. Children are predisposed to mimic, for example family members in their movements, their tone of speech and their behavior. When these sights repeat themselves, Dr. Muhsen stressed, a child has no choice but imitation.

Dr. Muna Ahmed Hussein, a scholar of cultural media, told Al-Arabiya that what the children in El-Mahalla did emphasized a crisis taking place in Egyptian society. She said we are facing a generation that started imitating the crimes of the society unaware of their severity. In the future a child can get used to it and even contract complicated mental illnesses.

She described how American soldiers that fought in Iraq came back suffering from mental illness due to the sights of killing, the violence and the frequent exposure to seeing corpses and blood.

In the past most of the families refused to let children watch the slaughter of chickens or sheep so that they won’t be affected by that mentality and so it won’t invoke their feelings. But now, unfortunately, Dr Hussein said, families are calling on their children to watch violent movies and clips of ISIS.” Source – The Clarion Project.

By Suleiman Al-Khalidi, Reuters – “Islamic State militants have abducted at least 90 people from Assyrian Christian villages in northeastern Syria, a monitoring group tracking violence in Syria said on Tuesday.

The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said they carried out dawn raids on rural villages inhabited by the ancient Christian minority west of Hasaka, a city mainly held by the Kurds.

Syrian Kurdish militia launched two offensives against the militants in northeast Syria on Sunday, helped by U.S.-led air strikes and Iraqi peshmerga.

This part of Syria borders territory controlled by Islamic State in Iraq, where it committed atrocities last year against the Yazidi religious minority.

Islamic State did not confirm the kidnappings. Supporters posted photos online of the group’s fighters in camouflage attire looking at maps and firing machine guns. The website said the photos were from Tel Tamr, a town near where the Observatory said the abductions occurred.

Many Assyrian Christians have emigrated in the nearly four-year-long conflict in which more than 200,000 have people have been killed. Before the arrival of Kurds and Arab nomadic tribes at the end of the 19th century, Christians formed the majority in Syria’s Jazeera area, which includes Hasaka.” Read more.

By Stephanie Linning, Mail Online – “Hapless Islamic State militants have vowed online to take over Rome – and ‘throw homosexuals off the leaning tower of pizza’.

In the message, posted by a Twitter account linked to the terror group, the ISIS supporter also threatens to bring sharia law to the Italian capital.

It comes just days after masked jihadists warned of their intention to conquer the city in a video that showed the mass beheading of 21 Christians in Libya.

But rather than spark widespread panic, the threats have triggered a flood of mocking responses – with dozens taking to social media to make fun of the jihadists and their takeover plans.

In the threat posted today, Twitter user Abu Abdullah Britani, who openly publicises ISIS activity, wrote: ‘#We_Are_Coming_O_Rome with slaughter’.

The message was soon followed by one that read:  ‘#We_Are_Coming_O_Rome, we will conquer & establish the justice of #shariah. We will use your leaning tower of pizza to throw off homosexual’.

The terrorists have previously thrown men off of buildings for ‘being gay’.

Earlier this year, images emerged that appeared to show militants hurling one man off a building in the town of Tal Abyad in Raqqa as supposed punishment for having a ‘homosexual affair’.

This most recent threat appears to indicate the terrorists intend to bring their barbaric practices to Europe – and plan to repeat the horrific scenes off the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Security camera footage showed mayor Nir Barkat, in a white shirt, walk towards the suspect together with his bodyguard and lunge at him, pinning him down on a pedestrian crossing before others took charge and detained the man.

Before Barkat intervened, the distant but distinct black-and-white footage showed a man waving his arm in a stabbing motion and making contact with one individual and attempting to stab others as they waited to cross the road. When they realized what had happened, the pedestrians ran clear.

The stab victim was rushed to hospital but was not seriously hurt, medical officials said. Police said the suspect, an 18-year-old Palestinian, did not have authorization to reside in Israel.

“My bodyguard took out his weapon and when he aimed at the terrorist, the terrorist dropped his knife and we immediately tackled him on the ground to make sure that he cannot continue with the terror attack,” Barkat told reporters shortly afterwards.

Barkat, 55, served as an officer in the paratroopers’ brigade. A former high-tech entrepreneur, he was elected as Israel’s mayor of Jerusalem in 2008….

AWR – “Daesh militants have reportedly burned to death 50 civilians in Iraq’s violence-plagued western province of al-Anbar, in a brutal execution similar to the one previously carried out on a Jordanian pilot.

Provincial sources, requesting anonymity, said the men were killed in the town of Hit, located about 140 kilometers (85 miles) west of the capital, Baghdad, Iraq’s public broadcaster al-Iraqiya TV reported on Saturday.

The development comes less than a week after Daesh (ISIL) members torched to death at least 45 people in the conflict-ridden city of Khan al-Baghdadi, situated about 180 kilometers (110 miles) northwest of Baghdad.

The identities of those killed by Daesh in Khan al-Baghdadi have not been released, but local police chief, Colonel Qasim al-Obeidi, said on February 17 that many of the victims were believed to have been security forces.” Read more.

Islamic terrorist group al-Shabaab specifically named the Mall of America, the West Edmonton Mall in Alberta and London’s Oxford Street in the more than hourlong video that was being circulated on Twitter.

On Sunday, U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson urged visitors to the Mall of America to be ‘particularly careful.’

‘I would say that if anyone is planning to go to the Mall of America today, they’ve got to be particularly careful,’ he told host Gloria Borger on CNN’s ‘State of the Union.’

Federal law enforcement officials told CBS News that they are investigating the video.

Mall of America officials released a statement Saturday saying that they were aware of the video that mentions the megamall and shows an image of it and its GPS coordinates.

‘We will continue to monitor events with the help of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies,’ according to the statement. ‘As always, we take any potential threat seriously and respond appropriately. Mall of America has implemented extra security precautions, some may be noticeable to guests, and others won’t be.’

In 2013, al-Shabaab claimed responsibility for an attack on the Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya; more than 60 people were killed in the four-day siege.

The video posted Saturday shows six minutes of graphic images celebrating the Westgate Mall attack. Near the end of the video, a masked man wearing a camouflage jacket appears on screen.

Norway Hoax: Media Fabricates 20 Muslims Holding Hands Into A 1,000-Strong “Ring Of Peace” Around Oslo Synagogue

It’s “dhimmediatude.” Although it is very commendable to see 20 Muslims standing around an Oslo synagogue for what appears to be truly peaceful purposes, something remains woefully wrong within the Islamic community when a city that is home to over 52,000 Muslims can manage to draw just 20 of them in a show of solidarity with the local Jewish community. And what’s woefully wrong is Islam itself …

Qur’an Sura 5:51, “O you who believe! do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whoever amongst you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them …”

By Jordan Schachtel, Breitbart – “The weekend’s feel-good story about a Muslim ‘ring of peace’ formed to ‘protect’ Jews at an Oslo synagogue turned out to be a complete fabrication by the mainstream media, according to an eyewitness report, local officials, and attendees’ photos.

According to a local eyewitness, only about 20 or so Muslims formed the ‘ring of peace’ around the Oslo synagogue. In fact, pictures from multiple angles show that there wasn’t enough people to form a ring, so the locals instead formed a horizontal line in front of the synagogue.

A local news outlet explained how the media got to its ‘1,300 Muslims’ number. ‘According to police, there were 1300 persons present in the event. Very many of them ethnic Norwegians,’ read a translated report from Osloby.no.

Demonstrators also reportedly chanted, ‘No to anti-Semitism, no to Islamophobia,’ conflating criticism of Islam and hatred of Jews.

Photos pulled off of social media appear to corroborate the narrative that only twenty or so people formed the ‘peace ring.’

Multiple news outlets, including wire services for hundreds of news sites, ran with the false narrative that 1,000 or more people–sometimes all of them Muslim–formed the ring of peace outside of the Oslo synagogue.

The AP incorrectly reported, ‘More than 1,000 people have formed a ‘ring of peace’ outside Oslo’s main synagogue at the initiative of a group of young Muslims.’

AFP reports almost identically, ‘More than 1,000 people formed a ‘ring of peace’ Saturday outside Oslo’s main synagogue at the initiative of a group of young Muslims.’ The newswire agency has no excuse for the false report, as it had a photographer taking shots of the ‘ring’ at the scene–and one shows a man who appears to be at the end of the line of hand-holders, with his left hand in his pocket.” Read more.

The God of the Bible says what He means and means what He says. The god of the Qur’an, however, not so much …

Qur’an Sura 2:62, “Verily! Those who believe [in Islam] and those who are Jews and Christians … shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.”

Qur’an Sura 3:85, “And whoever desires a religion other than Islam, it shall not be accepted from him, and in the hereafter he shall be one of the losers.”
