Sudan: Authorities Arrest, Imprison Yet Another Christian Woman For Allegedly “Leaving Islam”

Morning Star News – “As Meriam Yahia Ibrahim, sentenced to death for leaving Islam, gave birth early this morning in prison, another Christian woman in Sudan has been jailed for ‘apostasy,’ sources said…

In the town of El Gadarif on Sudan’s eastern border with Ethiopia, another Christian woman has been incarcerated under suspicion of having left Islam, Morning Star News has learned.

Immigration/Citizenship police questioned Faiza Abdalla, 37, as she was going to obtain her national identification number at an official building in El Gadarif on April 2, a source told Morning Star News. When she responded to officers’ questions about her religion that she was a Christian, they immediately arrested her based on her Muslim name, he said.

Her family had converted to Christianity from Islam before she was born but kept their former name, the source said.

‘They arrested me because I am a Christian,’ said Abdalla, originally from an area in Sudan’s Nuba Mountains, where her parents raised her in an evangelical church.

As happened with Ibrahim and Wani, a court on April 8 terminated Abdalla’s marriage to her husband, a lifelong Catholic from South Sudan, on grounds that she had committed ‘adultery’ by allegedly having left Islam and married a Christian. Abdalla’s husband fled the country two years ago because of persecution.

Immigration/Citizenship officials, who are responsible for issuing national IDs, routinely search for those who have left Islam to arrest and force them to return to the religion, the source said.

‘Faiza Abdalla is a Christian, and her husband is a catechist,’ said a Christian in Al Gaderif who grew up with her in the same community.

Church leaders and Christian activists in Al Gaderif went to police to ask for the release of Abdalla, without success, the source said. Church leaders in the town say they are upset by a new wave of persecution against Christians.” Read more.

Tip of the hat to TROP for the link, who points out elsewhere that Islamic terrorists murder more people every day than the Ku Klux Klan had in the last 50 years and kill more each year than in all 350 years of the Spanish Inquisition combined. As of today, there have been over 23,000 documented acts of Islamic terrorism committed in the name of “Allah” since 9/11/2001 by terrorists who killed more in two hours that day than in the 36 years of sectarian conflict in Northern Ireland and the number of American criminals executed in the last 65 years. Moreover, in 2007 when Islam and Judaism’s holiest holidays overlapped for 10 days, Muslims racked up 397 dead bodies in 94 terror attacks across 10 countries while Jews worked on their 159th Nobel Prize. Throughout Islam’s 1400 year history, approximately 270 million non-Muslims were slaughtered for “Allah” and his prophet of death. Yet according to some Western “leaders” non-Muslims need to integrate more with the Muslim way of life? Preposterous. What this world needs is a little more “I AM” and a lot less “ISLAM.” And that Day is coming soon …

By Rachel Molschky, Cherson and Molschky – “The terror attack in China last week adds to a long list of violent killings around the world. Reading the news can be depressing with so much inhumanity and each day, more terror, more senseless killing. And there is one common thread to it all: Islam.

China is not a nation most people associate with Islam, but the ‘Uighur extremists’ responsible for the attack at a Urumqi vegetable market, which killed 43 and wounded another 90 people, are Muslim.

An Associated Press article on the attack refers to the influence of ‘religious extremism.’ While over half of the Chinese do not associate themselves with any religion at all, of those who do subscribe to a particular doctrine, the majority are Buddhist. Yet despite Buddhism’s dominance, this ‘religious extremism’ did not come from that demographic.

Christians account for around 5% of the country, but this act of ‘religious extremism’ cannot be attributed to Christianity. Nor was it Jewish, Hindu, or Taoist extremism. It was unequivocally, without a doubt, Islamic extremism; a heinous act carried out by people who come from a mere 2% of China’s total population. The people the media identifies as ‘radical separatists’ are radical Muslims.

Can we stop playing around with words and just admit the truth? As Rick Moran points out in his article on American Thinker, when Christians bomb abortion clinics or kill abortion doctors, no one pretends they are not Christian. What’s more, they are quickly identified as such, and the press does not shy away from reporting on these incidents.

These abortion doctor killers get so much press, one might think there were scores of such types of murders. Actually, there have been around eight killings, four of them doctors. That’s right. Four abortion doctors have been murdered by radical Christians, and there have been 17 attempted murders since 1977 in the US and Canada. That’s a total of 25 people either killed or nearly killed over the course of 37 years and across two countries- two very large countries with a combined population of over 350 million.

And while it’s no excuse, these are people who are targeting specific doctors, not putting bombs on random buses, spraying bullets into a crowd or hacking to death school children and burning them alive like Boko Haram.

Most importantly, the rest of the Christian community denounces such violence, and Christian doctrine does not condone murder or propagate hatred and violence. Christians may not agree with abortion, but rather than going out to abortion clinics to murder the doctors and staff, the vast majority approach the issue by trying to change the laws.” Read more.

Brigitte Gabriel said the good news is that more and more in the West are finally acknowledging the destruction radical Islam leaves in its path, but she said Americans should not hold their breath waiting for moderate Muslims to begin lashing out at extremist acts.

Al-Qaida has evolved greatly from how it functioned around the time of the terrorist attacks in September 2001. Instead of a powerful central organization, it now exists primarily as many different regional organizations spread out from east Asia to North Africa and each group largely appears to be making their own decisions.

New FBI Director James Comey recently told New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt that al-Qaida’s current strength is a major surprise.

‘I didn’t have anywhere near the appreciation I got after I came into this job just how virulent those affiliates had become,’ Comey told the Times.

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper also acknowledges al-Qaida’s resilience.

Gabriel said those assessments are accurate because the U.S. hasn’t led well in the fight against radical Islam.

‘It’s because our government underestimated and did not identify the ideology behind al-Qaida,’ she said. ‘So today when we look at terrorist organizations across the globe, whether it’s Boko Haram, Al-Shabaab, you name it, Hamas, Hezbollah, etc., what brings them together is the same ideology as al-Qaida. Now it is metastasizing worldwide because we are seeing radical Islam and groups organized across the world feeling empowered to bring back and resurrect an Islamic caliphate and establish Islam as they see it in their own eyes as it was practiced in the days of Muhammad.’ …

‘We can continually dream on and on and on. Here we are, 12 years after Sept. 11, and with this thing that happened in Nigeria with the kidnapping of the schoolgirls, have you seen any demonstrations in Saudi Arabia against it, asking to bring back our girls?’ she asked. ‘Have you seen any mass demonstrations in Indonesia calling to bring back our girls? Have you seen any mass demonstration in Pakistan, in Afghanistan, in India?’

Iraq: Muslims Stop Christians From Selling Homes, Kill Real Estate Agents For Doing Business With Them

AINA News – “According to a report published by the Iraq Press, hundreds of Assyrians in Mosul have been forced to leave the city by fighters of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, also known as Daash. The Assyrians have been prevented by Daash from selling their homes. Daash has killed real estate agents who do business with Christians.

Unidentified gunmen assassinated the owner of the Zouhour Real Estates agency after he brokered the sale of a Christian house.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, a source at the Nineveh Operation Command said that ‘ten real estate agents have been killed between 2013 and 2014, most recently the owner of El Nour Realty Office in the region of Mouhandiseen after he was kidnapped and beheaded for selling the house of a Christian family.’

The owner of a real estate agency said ‘there are those who engaged secretly in the sale of real estate outside of the office environment, but the information was leaked to Daash quickly through informants belonging to them. Daash beheaded two of them in front of the owners of some offices selling real estate.’

An Assyrian mother said to Iraq Press ‘The broker who sold my home in March 2013 was killed by armed groups and he was a father of four children. I feel I’m the responsible of this.’

Rachel Ishu, an Assyrian from Mosul, demanded the Nineveh Operations Command find a solution to this humanitarian disaster that has affected nearly 5,000 Christian families. ‘I live in a small house in located 40 KM north-east of Mosul, I pay a monthly rental of 500 Dinars, I have no breadwinner, only an employed daughter who pays all her salary as rent for our house. Texas: Muslim Man Killed Convert To Christianity

By Joe Kemp, New York Daily News – “A Texas man was indicted for the killing of a medical student and outspoken Iranian activist whom he allegedly blamed for influencing his daughter to marry without his permission.

Ali Mahwood-Awad Irsan, 56, was being held in federal custody after a grand jury indicted him Thursday for shooting Gelareh Bagherzadeh, 30, outside her parents’ Galleria townhouse in January 2012, authorities said.

It was not immediately clear what charges Irsan — of Conroe, located about 40 miles north of Houston — faced.

Investigators did not reveal a motive for the killing, but those close to Bagherzadeh told the Houston Chronicle that Irsan, a devout Muslim, suspected the Christian convert had influenced his daughter, Nesreen, to drift apart from her family.

Irsan was allegedly angry that his Jordanian-American daughter married 28-year-old Coty Beavers without his approval.

‘He had a very fundamentalist interpretation of Islam and believed that (Nesreen) was supposed to marry a guy that he chooses,’ Beavers’ twin brother, Cody, told the paper.

And 11 months after Bagherzadeh — a molecular genetic technology student at the University of Texas — was killed, Coty Beavers was shot and killed inside the Harris County apartment that he shared with his wife.

No arrests had been made in that killing, but relatives say they suspect the two deaths were connected.” Read more.

Somalia Militants Kill Yet Another Woman For Being A Christian

By BosNewsLife – “Minority Christians in Somalia face new challenges after suspected Islamic militants managed to enter the capital Mogadishu where they murdered a young woman for openly professing her faith in Jesus Christ, BosNewsLife learned.

Sufia was at home with her parents when armed men, who were believed to belong to the al-Shabab group, burst into her home, Christians said.

Leaving her parents untouched, the men apparently grabbed Sufia, forcefully dragging the woman from the home at gunpoint. They reportedly publicly shot her, firing into the on-looking crowd as friends and neighbors tried to save her.

No more details or the last name of Sufia were released amid security concerns.

Sufia’s killers fled the scene and police so far did not detain suspects in last month’s murder…

Al-Shabab says all Somalis are born Muslims, and those found practicing other faiths are considered guilty of “apostasy”, or leaving Islam, and should be put to death.” Read more.

A 34-year-old went to St. Joseph Hospital early on Saturday morning due to a “gastro-intestinal flu.” Suddenly he refused to be treated, because he thought there were too many Christian crosses on the wall.

Because of the crosses, the man started insulting the nurse, calling her a bitch, fascist, and the like. Then the man, according to police report, also started becoming physically aggressive. The hospital called the police. The officers seized the man in front of the hospital and checked him.

The man could not present any identity papers. In a review in the office, it turned out that the man had been unemployed for a long period and had lost his Turkish passport.

What we have here is a failure to communicate. Boko Haram insists on explaining that they are motivated by Islam to kill Christians and abuse women. And the pundits and diplomats rush out to insist that we shouldn’t pay any attention to them.

Boko Haram’s big dream is genocide followed by locking up whoever survives. And the mentions of Bush and Obama suggest that this terror group, linked to Al Qaeda, has plans beyond Nigeria’s borders.” Source – FrontPage Mag.

Christian Church In Iran Growing Despite Threats Of Death

By Gary Lane, CBN News – “Iran’s new president has promised to protect the country’s Christians, but attacks are intensifying.

As they work to survive, CBN News was given an exclusive, rare view that few outsiders witness: a secret meeting of new Iranian believers in a neighboring country, not far from the border.

The brand new followers of Christ received Bible teaching and participated in their very first communion.

After a few songs and prayers, several were baptized. Then they returned to more late-night Bible study and training before returning to Iran.

For the first time, these Christians learned how to look up and memorize Scripture. They’re Kurds, former Muslims who converted to Christianity.

If their identities and location were revealed to secret police, Iranian agents would have come to arrest them. Some may have been killed for being apostates.

One former Muslim — we called Daoud — knows the dangers all too well. Before he became a Christian, Iranian police caught him eating a sandwich instead of fasting during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

That violated Sharia law. A judge ordered him to receive 70 lashes, a punishment similar to that imposed by the Taliban.

‘I was tied down. A mullah held the Koran in his hand and recited a verse and then a soldier beat my back with a cable,’ he explained.

‘It made me feel deep hatred against Islam and the Islamic Republic of Iran. All I did was grab a sandwich and eat it. Why is that a sin?’ he asked.

Later, Daoud met some Christians on the Internet who introduced him to Christ. He embraced Christianity after witnessing miracles of healing and deliverance.

Daoud keeps his newfound faith secret, while quietly and cautiously sharing Christ with others in his city.

‘Right now, it is really scary because if the government knows about it, I’m pretty sure they will execute me,’ he said.” Read more.

Well, let’s check on world events.

Have you heard about the crisis in Ukraine? The sunken ferry in South Korea? The missing airplane in Malaysia? Yes to all? You’re doing great!

Let’s try some more. Can you tell me about the slaughter of Christians in Egypt? No? How about in Iraq and Syria? Oh, you didn’t know that Christians were being killed there?

Perhaps you can tell me how many Christians have been killed in Sudan in the last two decades? Not really? Not even sure where Sudan is on the map?

Then let’s try this. Have you heard of Boko Haram? Perhaps?

Maybe you’ve heard that strange-sounding name recently in conjunction with nearly 300 girls being kidnapped somewhere in Africa? Does that ring a bell?

Sadly, while America obsesses over the Donald Sterling scandal (which is certainly a scandal), and while we follow with interest the events in Ukraine (could Putin really be a Hitler in the making?), and while our hearts rightly break over the terrible loss of life in South Korea and the apparent (and also terrible) loss of life in the Malaysian Airlines mystery, we are all but oblivious to the suffering of Christians worldwide.

Sadder still is the inaction of our government when it comes to this Christian suffering.

Here is a sampling of recent, Christian suffering, just at the hands of violent Muslims:

* In Syria, Christians have been beheaded, crucified and killed in other horrific ways for refusing to convert to Islam. They are targeted by both Sunni and Shiite Muslims in the civil war there.
