Islamists: Worship Allah, Or Else ...

Islamists: If You Don’t Worship ‘Allah’ You Don’t Deserve To Live.

The Christian Post – “Islamic extremists have attacked villages in three states in Nigeria every Sunday this month, killing at least 15 Christians.

Christian leaders in the Agatu Local Government Area of central Nigeria’s Benue state said ethnic Fulani herdsmen were responsible for raids on two villages that left seven Christians dead on Sunday morning (Jan. 19), though a Fulani spokesman said the assailants must have come from elsewhere as there are no Fulani herdsmen known in the area.

The previous Sunday (Jan. 12) in northeastern Nigeria’s Borno state, Christian leaders said terrorists from the Islamic extremist Boko Haram group attacked Sabon Gari village in the Gwoza Local Government Area, killing eight Christians. In Kaduna state the Sunday before that (Jan. 5), churchmen in the Manchok area mobilized in time to repel attacks by Fulani herdsmen, Christian leaders told Morning Star News.

In the Benue state attacks, Fulani herdsmen raided Oweto and Utuluewu villages at about 10 a.m., destroying homes and maiming and killing Christian residents, two Christian leaders said.

‘They killed seven of our community members in Oweto and Utuluewu villages in Agatu, while many others were injured in the attack,’ John Ngbede told Morning Star News. ‘There was sporadic shooting in these two Christian communities in the early hours of Sunday, at about 10 a.m., when they were in their churches. This incident has forced Christian surviving residents of the two communities to flee their villages.’

Ngbede said the names of the slain Christians were not immediately available.

‘However, I am sure of the casualty figure of those killed by the Fulani herdsmen,’ he said. ‘Seven of them were killed in the attack.’

Sule Audu, another Christian community leader in the area, told Morning Star News by phone that a relative, 60-year-old Isah Onum, was among the seven killed.

‘I do not understand the rationale behind these incessant killing of our people and the destruction of their homes,’ Audu said.

Daniel Ezeala, police spokesman for the Benue State Command, confirmed that seven Christians were killed in Sunday’s attacks in Agatu. Five soldiers were also killed in the course of intervening.” Read more.

Flashback: Islamic Militants Turn Nigeria Into Christian Killing Field – “Last year more Christians were killed in Nigeria than any other country. The onslaught of bombings gave Nigeria the sad distinction of being the nation with the highest Christian death toll. More than 900 Christians reportedly were killed in Nigeria in 2012, all victims of the Boko Haram group and other Islamic militants… Gregory Lar, an international human rights attorney, said, ‘It is happening at this time because it appears there is a new resurgence, a new Islamic awareness in the need to propagate their religion.’” Read more.

Pakistani Christians Search For New Homeland Because Of Muslim Persecution

Qur’an Sura 9:29-30, “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of [Islam], even if they are of the People of the Book [Christians] … the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!”

A Christian family rests in front of their destroyed house

By Lubna Thomas Benjamin, Christian Today – “It happened during 1947 at the creation of Pakistan when the Christians decided to come and settle in Pakistan as their home country. Very proudly, the Christians call themselves Pakistanis.

Ever since the inception of the country, the Christians living there have contributed in all spheres of life, from education to health, to the armed forces, and they have always been renowned for the services they have offered in the fields they worked in.

They are always considered and proved with their work that they are as dedicated and honest just like any other Pakistani, and I remember quoting my boss on air that he found Christians more hardworking and dedicated than the Muslims.

The conditions have not been easy for Christians when it comes to living in Pakistan, as they have to face problems of discrimination, hatred and insults from the small scale to sometimes the large scale.

Besides all these problems, another mammoth problem started to hover over the Christians and this was the blasphemy laws. It is easy to implicate the Christians by alleging they have uttered objectionable words against the Holy Quran and prophet Mohammad. Their lives are ended and some are still fighting battles, like Asia Bibi, a Christian woman, who was charged with blasphemy in 2009 and is still in prison, awaiting the outcome of the appeals process against her death sentence.

Despite having all the threats and troubles, the Christians still live and serve the country as a true patriot. However, some Christians who can’t fight the battle to keep up with their faith while living in the country, where the majority are Muslims, have now thought of adopting the new way – that is to leave their motherland and go to another country where they can live the life of a free person.

I have come to know the heart-shattering stories of a few of the many families who have left Pakistan – astonishingly quite a few of them were not poor but were rich and had their own business or were doing high–profile jobs. Otherwise, how can a person even think of leaving their home and live in a foreign land where he might have to face not similar problems like Pakistan but different in nature? A new struggle indeed.

A Christian young man belonging to the city of Bahawalpur, Punjab, is now in the UK.

On condition of anonymity, he shared with me his reason for leaving Pakistan…” Read more.

Eyewitnesses: Nigerian Soldiers Slaughtered Fleeing Christians

01/18/2014 1 comment

This has happened before with soldiers. Yes, Muslim soldiers …

By Joseph DeCaro, Worthy News – “Surviving eyewitnesses to Monday’s slaughter of 33 Christians by Muslim Fulani herdsmen in Nigeria’s Plateau state said soldiers assigned to protect them instead shot at anyone fleeing the murderous attack.

From her hospital bed, 25-year-old Antele Alamba told Morning Star News that hundreds of Muslim Fulani herdsmen carrying firearms and machetes attacked Shonong village, butchering women and children alike while the soldiers that were supposed to protect them instead helped the herdsmen by surrounding the village, trapping everyone inside.

Alamba said she miraculously managed to escape to nearby Fang village where Christians took her to the hospital.

Another survivor, 22-year-old Edward Iliya, said the raid looked like a joint effort by both soldiers and herdsmen.

‘I was in the village at the time of the attack,’ Ilyia told Morning Star. ‘We were trapped in the village with no hope of escaping as the rampaging herdsmen attacked us in all directions. God in his infinite mercies caused Christians from our neighboring village of Fang to rush here to assist us. They repelled the Fulani gunmen, and we found ways to escape from the attackers.’

Pastor Yakubu Fom told Morning Star that bodies have been recovered from burnt down homes and the bush surrounding the village.

‘One wonders what the soldiers were doing in the village while the Muslim Fulani herdsmen killed and set fire on homes of our members without the soldiers repelling them,’he said.

At the time of the attack, most of the village men had already left to work on their farms, leaving their families in the ‘care’ of soldiers who reportedly went on a drinking binge the night before.” Source – Worthy News.

Christian Association Of Nigeria Decries Slaughter Of Christians, Calls For Peaceful Co-Existence With Muslims

Unfortunately, peaceful co-existence with “infidels” is forbidden by the “Religion of Peace” …

Hadith, Sahih Muslim 1:33a, “The Messenger of Allah [Mohammed] said: ‘I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, that Mohammad is the messenger of Allah, and they establish [Islamic] prayer …”

By Stephen Gbadamosi, Nigerian Tribune – “The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed worry at the spate of killing of Christians in the country, calling on the government to set machinery in motion to affirm peaceful co-existence of the people of the country.

The association, in a statement issued by its South-West zone chairman, Archbishop Magnus Atilade, and made available to the Nigerian Tribune on Wednesday, said it had become imperative to call the attention of the world to the growing threat to the life and property of Christians in the country.

Archbishop Atilade, who is also the President, Christian Welfare Initiative (CWI), noted: ‘I am compelled, as a Christian, the President of the Christian Welfare Initiative (CWI), and as chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), South-West zone, to draw the attention of the entire citizenry of this country, as well as other nations in the world to the growing threat to the life and property of Christians in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

‘We affirm that Nigeria is a secular society in which all the citizens have the right to live, work and express their faith according to their individual convictions. If the secularity of Nigeria has in any way been reviewed or modified, we are not aware. The constitution of Nigeria guarantees freedom of speech, freedom of movement, and the right to worship God according to individual conviction.

‘We are, however, disturbed and very alarmed at the rate and consistency with which Christians are being slaughtered in northern Nigeria, in a manner similar to the genocide in Rwanda. The brutality, cruelty and inhuman manner in which Nigerian Christians are being systematically and consistently slaughtered by individuals claiming to be adherents of the Islamic faith has reached an alarming proportion that we are compelled to speak out. Turkey’s Christians Fear Possible Hate Campaign

01/16/2014 1 comment

One which is even worse than the hate campaign that is already in motion …

Matthew 10:22, “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.”

Al Monitor – “A predominantly Muslim nation, Turkey has occasionally seen anti-Christian campaigns, some with tragic consequences. But the scale of protests against New Year’s celebrations this year was unprecedented. Previously, some Islamic media would denounce the festivities as un-Islamic, but never before have we seen acts threatening those who celebrate.

As fellow Al-Monitor contributor Pinar Tremblay described, members of Turkey’s tiny Christian minority were already depressed, bemoaning the increasingly subdued fashion of their Christmas celebrations and the ‘long gone memory’ of times past, when Christians and Muslims shared holidays.

The events preceding New Year’s Eve — events which were a first for Turkey — added to the gloom. It all started with posters depicting a devout-looking Muslim man punching Santa Claus, hung in various Istanbul neighborhoods. ‘No to New Year’s and Christmas celebrations,’ read the posters. They were part of a campaign led by the Anatolian Youth Association, known to be the youth branch of the pro-Islamic Felicity Party.

The group distributed fliers reading, ‘We are crying out that the New Year’s and Christmas celebrations held in our country are wrong and constitute a blow dealt to our Muslim identity.’ The flier also included the following paragraph: ‘The adoption and practice of Christmas by Muslims should be regarded as religious and cultural degeneration. One should bear in mind that such behavior is accelerating the process of alienation and estrangement from our own religious beliefs and values, and will breed a favorable ground for Christian missionary activities targeting our country and people.’

The last sentence is particularly noteworthy, since it raises concerns of a possible resurrection of the anti-Christian campaign that plagued Turkey in the 2000s and resulted in physical attacks on Christians.

In 2005 and 2006, almost all national newspapers carried reports targeting Christians, especially missionaries. The paranoia of a missionary invasion spread to such an extent that the National Security Council, where government and military leaders discuss Turkey’s top security issues, classified missionary activities as one of the country’s major security problems. The Ergenekon probe, launched in 2008 to investigate mainly alleged coup plots, revealed that the anti-missionary campaign was waged in a systematic fashion by a faction within the Ergenekon organization.

The anti-Christian campaign at the time resulted in verbal and physical attacks on hundreds of Christians and churches across Turkey.” Read more.

Syria: Young Christian Man Beheaded On The Spot After Islamists Notice Cross Necklace

01/16/2014 6 comments

1 Corinthians 1:18, “For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”

Qur’an Sura 8:12b, “… terrorize and behead those who believe in scriptures other than the Qur’an.”

Revelation 13:15 ,“And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain.”

Agenzia Fides – “Islamist groups have killed and beheaded a young Christian man, seriously wounding another. The incident, which occurred on 8 January, was reported to Fides only now by a priest in the diocese of Homs. The two, Firas Nader (29), and Fadi Matanius Mattah (34), were traveling by car from Homs to the Christian village of Marmarita. A group of five armed jihadists intercepted the vehicle and opened fire on the car. Upon reaching the car, militiamen, noting that Fadi was wearing a cross around his neck, beheaded him. They then took money and documents, leaving Firas on the ground wounded, believing he was already dead. Firas instead managed to escape, reaching the town of Almshtaeih on foot and was then transferred to the hospital in Tartou. Some of the faithful were able to recover the body of Mattah, bringing him to Marmarita, where the local Christian community expressed strong indignation for the horrible act carried out.

According to a statement sent to Fides by Aid to the Church in Need (ACN), violence against Christians in Syria, is becoming ‘one of the worst persecutions endured by Christians in this part of the third millennium’. According to the latest reports, more than 600,000 Christians – a third of the total Syrian faithful – are internally displaced or living as refugees in neighboring countries. Christian leaders confirm the massive exodus of Christians from Syria, which could seriously jeopardize the future of Christians in the nation.

As ACN in Homs highlights, Marmarita and Hamat, the Syrian population, which includes many Christians, live in severe discomfort and without food, heating, shelter and medicine because of the bitter cold weather that has worsened the humanitarian crisis which exists due to the conflict.” Source – Agenzia Fides.

Egypt: Islamists Are Kidnapping (And Killing) Christian Children For Cash

01/15/2014 Leave a comment

Islamists are at war with Christianity, and when at war even the children of non-Muslims are fair game for these killers …

Hadith, Sahih Muslim 4457, “The Messenger of Allah … used not to kill the children, so thou shouldst not kill them unless you could know what Khadir had known about the child he killed, or you could distinguish between a child who would grow up to he a believer (and a child who would grow up to be a non-believer), so that you killed the (prospective) non-believer and left the (prospective) believer aside.”

By Raymond Ibrahim – “Yet another Coptic Christian child was recently kidnapped in Egypt.  Thirteen-year-old Cyril Rif‘at Fayiz was abducted in the Minya district by ‘unknown persons’ who later called the child’s parents demanding one million Egyptian pounds, nearly the equivalent of $150,000 USD.

This phenomenon — kidnapping and holding Coptic children captive for large ransoms — has become a regular feature of the Egyptian landscape, particularly in Minya, Upper Egypt.  A few examples follow:

  • August 2013: Copts held a funeral for Wahid Jacob, formerly a young church deacon.  He too was kidnapped by ‘unknown persons’ who demanded an exorbitant ransom from his family—1,200,000 Egyptian pounds (equivalent to $171,000 USD).  Because his family could not raise the sum, he was executed—his body dumped in a field where it was later found.  The priest who conducted his funeral service said that the youth’s body bore signs of severe torture.
  • May 2013: After 6-year-old Cyril Joseph was kidnapped and the family paid ransom, he was still killed.  In the words of the Arabic report, the boy’s ‘family is in tatters after paying 30,000 pounds to the abductor, who still killed the innocent child and threw his body in his sewer system, where the body, swollen and moldy, was exhumed.’
  • April 2013: Ten-year-old Sameh George, another church deacon in Minya, was likewise abducted by ‘unknown persons’ while on his way to church to participate in Holy Pascha prayers leading up to Orthodox Easter. His parents said that it was his custom to go to church and worship in the evening, but he failed to return and they received an anonymous phone call from his kidnappers informing them that they had the Christian child in their possession and would execute him unless they received 250,000 Egyptian pounds in ransom money.
  • April, 2013: Another Coptic Christian boy, 12-year-old Abanoub Ashraf, was also kidnapped right in front of his church in Shubra al-Khayma district. His abductors, four men, put a knife to his throat, dragged him to their car, opened fire on the church, and then sped away. Later they called the boy’s family demanding a large amount of money to ransom child’s life.

As for Coptic girls, they are even more vulnerable than Coptic boys and disappear with greater frequency.  As an International Christian Concern report puts it, ‘hundreds of Christian girls … have been abducted, forced to convert to Islam, and forced into marriage in Egypt. These incidents are often accompanied by acts of violence, including rape, beatings, and other forms of physical and mental abuse.'” Source – Raymond Ibrahim.

Iranian Christians Hit With A Wave Of Arrests During Christmas

01/14/2014 1 comment

Because they were behaving like Christians

Matthew 10:22, “And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.”

By Mohabat News – “According to Mohabat News, on December 31, 2013, Iranian security authorities arrested four Christian converts by the names of ‘Sara Rahimi-Nejad, Mostafa Nadri, Majid Sheidaei, and George Isaian’ in Karaj.

According to a report by the Human Right Activists in Iran, these Christians had gathered in Isaian’s residence to celebrate the New Year when plain-clothes security authorities raided the home, beat and arrested them. The authorities immediately transferred them to an unknown location.

The report added, the authorities searched Mr. Isaian’s house and all the guests. They seized some of their belongings including books, personal notes, computers, CDs and DVDs, Satellite TV receiver, and even their family photo albums.

The families of these Christian detainees were turned away when they went to Evin prison and to the Intelligence police to inquire about them.

One occasion when pressure on the Iranian Christian community intensifies is during Christmas and New Year. Every year near Christmas, Iranian authorities raid Christmas and New Year house church services/gatherings and arrest those worshiping and celebrating the birth of Jesus.

It should be remembered that in the last few weeks, during Christmas, another group of Christian converts had been arrested. Those arrested were Faegheh Nasrollahi, Mastaneh Rastegari, Amir-Hossein Nematollahi, Ahmad Bazyar, and Mr. Hosseini. They had gathered in a house church in eastern Tehran when they were arrested.

Reports on Christian persecution in Iran also indicated that the Revolutionary Court in Karaj sentenced Hossein Saketi Aramsari to one year in prison. He is currently being held in ward 7 of Karaj Central prison.

A few former Christian prisoners told Mohabat News in an interview, ‘We were both directly and indirectly pressured to make false confessions regarding our relationship with foreign countries. They wanted us to confess that we receive money to promote Christianity in the country’.

The Islamic regime of Iran is seriously concerned over the spread of Christianity across the country and does its best to counteract it.

The Iranian government uses every means possible to propagate against evangelical and house churches and describes them as a corrupted movement. The Islamic regime considers Christians a threat to national security and often targets them with security charges.

This year as well, Open Doors International published the World Watch List, a list of countries where Christians are persecuted the most. Open Doors also stated that Christian persecution is increasing around the world. The list ranked Iran among the top ten persecuting countries.” Source – Mohabat News.

By Maina Maina, Daily Post – “Gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Islamic militants, Boko Haram have burnt down a church and a house of a National Assembly member, Hon. Peter Biye.

DailyPost learnt that they carried out the attack on Friday in Gwoza town of Gwoza Local Government council of Borno State.

Biye, who is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Damboa, Chibok and Gwoza federal constituency disclosed that a church, located close to his house was not spared by the assailants.

Speaking to DailyPost on Friday, the legislator said when the assailants stormed his house at Bzuba village along Gwoza Pulka road at night on Wednesday, they carted away over 70 domestic animals before setting the building on fire.

He said about three weeks before the incident, he had raised alarm on the need for military authorities to intensify security in the area but nothing was done.

‘While in the house, the attackers burnt a consignment of sorghum which was meant for distribution to our people to cushion their hardships.

‘They also burnt 30,000 pieces of exercise books, 30,000 packets of biro and 30,000 packets of chalk which I bought for distribution to schools in my constituency.

‘When I got information from my people that the insurgents were in my village, I called the officer in charge of the area but he did not pick my call. It was the next day that he called back and told me that he was no longer in charge of the area’, he said.

There was no official statement from the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army but a senior military officer who spoke under anonymity confirmed the attack.” Source – Daily Post.

Iowa Church ‘Dialogue On Islam’ Ignores Muslim Persecution Of Christians

01/13/2014 2 comments

Just like most Christian churches in the West …

1 Timothy 4:1, “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons …”

Ephesians 5:11, “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.”

2 Corinthians 6:14b-15a, “… For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial?”

By Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch – “Sessions like these usually feature a smiling, soft-spoken local imam, but this one seems to be conducted solely by an academic who appears to be non-Muslim. Nonetheless, whenever people start talking about ‘misconceptions’ of Islam in contexts like this, they mean, ‘You see Islamic jihadists justifying violence and terror by referring to Islamic texts and teachings, but don’t believe your lying eyes. Believe me when I tell you that Islam teaches peace and those jihadists are misunderstanders of Islam. Only racists and bigots think there is a jihad threat, or that counter-terror operations are needed.’

However, the worst part of this is that no mention is made whatsoever of the Muslim persecution of Christians, which is one of those ‘world events’ that ‘play out around the globe’ that make people want to know about Islam in the first place. But we know that there are many Christians who think it best not to speak about such matters, and abandon Christians in Muslim countries to their fate: ‘Talk about extreme, militant Islamists and the atrocities that they have perpetrated globally might undercut the positive achievements that we Catholics have attained in our inter-religious dialogue with devout Muslims.’ — Robert McManus, Roman Catholic Bishop of Worcester, Massachusetts, February 8, 2013

‘Church Dialogue on Islam,’ from CBS2/Fox28, January 12 (thanks to Maxwell):

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA (CBS2/FOX28) – While world events play out around the globe, it can be hard to fully grasp the role that religion plays. One local church is helping people better understand the world around them, but not exclusively through Christianity.“Welcome to Christ Episcopal Church if you’re visiting. This is our Tour of Islam,” said Adult Formation Leader at Christ Episcopal Church Charles Crawley.

Islam is one of the world’s largest religions, accounting for about 20 % of the earth’s population.

But, “people are just trying to understand what it is, because we just don’t have a good basic understanding,” said Crawley.

Kirkwood Professor of Religion Dr. Peter Jauhiainen says people often narrowly define the religion.

“That provides a distorted understanding of what it’s all about,” said Dr. Jauhiainen. So Christ Episcopal Church organized its Tour of Islam. The idea is to help people of all faiths have a better understanding of world events and other religions.

“We, it seems to me, operate on rumors, on information from people who don’t have a complete understanding,” said Doug Anderson.

Those misconceptions can easily affect how we understand the world around us, both past and present.

“The other thing I remember from ’73 is the Arab Oil Embargo. Most of us are old enough to remember 25-cent gas,” said Dr. Jauhiainen.

Organizers say knowing more about our surroundings often leads to knowing more about other people, but simple tolerance isn’t enough.

“Tolerance is lower on the diversity scale if you want to speak that way. But to move to acceptance, approval and affirmation of people that are different than us,” said Crawley.

“I’m more concerned about understanding broad ideas and movements and changing attitudes, that’s more important,” said Dr. Jauhiainen.

Islam is the “Religion of Peace.” If you say otherwise they just might kill you. For peaceful purposes …

Qur’an Sura 9:123, “O you who believe! fight those of the unbelievers [non-Muslims] who are near to you and let them find in you hardness …”

2 Timothy 2:3, “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.”

By Sumon Corraya, AsiaNews – “Islamists murdered Ovidio Marandy, a young ethnic Santhal Catholic man, last Saturday in Gobindoganj, Gaibandha district (northern Bangladesh). His funeral was held today in the Beneedwar parish church.

A native of Beneedwar Parish (Diocese of Rajshahi), the young man was the younger brother of Fr Samson Marandy, a Catholic priest in the Diocese of Dinajpur.

According to his brother and other family members, Muslim radicals wanted to punish the young man, a well-known figure in the local Catholic community, because he had recently organised a demonstration in his village against Islamist violence.

On 5 January, hundreds of Islamic extremists stormed the homes of Christians in the dioceses of Rajshahi and Mymensigh because they had voted in the general election.

‘Ovidio was very brave, and was famous in his community. We are shocked by what happened,’ said Fr Proshanto Gomes, a local priest. ‘Christians have the right to vote. Why are Islamists attacking us? We want peace.'” Source – AsiaNews.

Flashback: Christians And Hindus Live In Fear Following Bangladesh Election – “Religious minorities of Bangladesh lived through Sunday’s general election in fear. The ruling Awami League (AL) won a landslide, a foregone conclusion since the Bangladesh National Party (BNP) and other opposition parties boycotted the poll. Only 20 per cent of voters cast their ballot compared to 70 per cent in 2008. In the past three days, at least 25 people died in clashes between supporters of different camps. Minorities, especially Christians and Hindus, were prevented from exercising their voting rights because of threats from extremists. ‘We didn’t go to the polling centre because some opposition threatened us that if we went to the poll they would attack us …'” Read more.

Flashback: Christian Homes Torched, Churches Threatened As Violent Islamists In Bangladesh Call For The Killing Of All Non-Muslims – “Barnabas Aid has received requests for prayer and practical help from Christian leaders in Bangladesh as the Church is endangered by a violent uprising by Islamists who are demanding that the country become an Islamic state. Christian homes have been torched and churches threatened as increasingly volatile protests have rocked the country. Scores of people have been killed in the clashes, which erupted in February. At least 37 died earlier this week as police tried to quash protests in the capital, Dhaka, where 70,000 Islamist demonstrators took to the streets on Sunday …” Read more.

Romans 8:35, 38-39, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? [Shall] tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? … For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

ICC – “Eight Christians in Bangladesh remain hospitalized, three in critical condition, following a violent attack by Muslim Extremists. Violence against religious minorities, namely Christians and Hindus, has been on the rise both pre and post-election as the extremists have attempted to gain greater political control.

On January, 7, 2014, around 11:00am, four Muslim extremists, descended on the home of Soren Kubi in the village of Bagra Gram in the Jamalpur district. After attacking Soren Kubi with ‘big knives and local lethal weapons’ they ‘beat him severely before vandalizing and looting his house,’ said an International Christian Concern (ICC) contact.

Unfortunately, Soren Kubi, who is the older brother of Bishop Ponen Kubi, the Bishop of the Diocese of Mymensigh, was not the only victim. The attackers, who are brothers, also ‘violently injured’ other Christians in the home at the time; Nirmala Dalboth, Marcila Khokshi, Polita Dalboth, Paulinus Dalboth, and Rajib Rema.

Two neighboring Muslims, Bipul Kha and Monjur Mandal were also attacked when they rushed to aid the victims. The injured have been taken to Medical College Hospital in Dhaka, Mymensingh Government Hospital, and to the to Jamalpur Health Complex.

The attackers, Dudu Kha and his three brothers Jalil Kha, Chhanu Kha and Eski Kha have not been charged nor arrested. The rest of the villagers are ‘passing their days in panic without any sufficient security,’ said an ICC contact.” Read more.
