By Jerry Philipson, Canada Free Press – “Westgate mall in Nairobi, Kenya is an upscale mall popular with foreigners and expatriates and middle-class and well-to-do Kenyans. Yesterday afternoon it was packed with shoppers when heavily armed gunmen burst in and began shooting and killing non-Muslims…unbelievers…infidels…in cold blood.

People who identified themselves as Muslims or who the gunmen thought were Muslim were allowed to leave and were unharmed.

Non-Muslims … unbelievers … infidels … were shot and killed. As of this writing 69 people are confirmed dead and another 175 have been wounded. The situation is still ongoing and the number of dead and wounded is expected to rise once it becomes resolved. Women, children and the elderly are among the dead and wounded.

The gunmen are identified as belonging to al-Shabab, a Somali Islamist terrorist group that has sworn allegiance to al-Qaeda and is fighting to make Islam and Sharia supreme in Somalia. Kenya was targeted because as part of the African Union it is sending soldiers to Somalia to fight the Islamists there, the mall was targeted because of its popularity with foreigners and expatriates and because it is partially Israeli owned and non-Muslims … unbelievers … infidels were targeted because the Islamist murderers wanted to sow terror and send a message to the Kenyan government and decided that slaughtering them was the best way to do it, slaughtering non-Muslims … unbelievers … infidels being permissible, legitimate and obligatory according to Islam.

The West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada is the largest shopping mall in North America and one of the largest in the world … it was the largest in the world until 2004. There are over 800 stores and services in the mall and it attracts anywhere between 60 and 150,000 shoppers per day. Fox News – “Kenya’s interior minister says two male Islamic militants have been killed and more hostages have been freed as military forces led a new rescue operation Monday inside a mall in Nairobi.

Fox News has confirmed that Interior Minister Joseph Ole Lenku said the two militants died and some hostages were freed in the latest efforts to end the ongoing siege waged by al-Shabab, a Somali group with ties to Al Qaeda. Lenju did not provide the current number of militants still believed to be in the mall, but said the amount of hostages left was minimal.

Sustained gunfire was heard coming from the Westgate mall and four loud blasts shook the building Monday morning, sending plumes of thick smoke into the sky, and signaling a new attack on the militants who have been holding hostages inside since Saturday. The gunmen holed up inside the mall had caused the smoke by setting mattresses on fire in a supermarket as a decoy, according to a Reuters report.

Officials say at least 62 people were killed and 200 wounded in the weekend attack, while 63 were reported missing.

Kenya Chief of Defense Gen. Julius Karangi said he believes the attackers are from many countries. ‘We have an idea who these people are and they are clearly a multinational collection from all over the world,’ he said.” Read more.

North American And European Muslims Reportedly Among The Group Of Attackers – “There are believed to be between 10-15 gunmen involved in the attack, officials said. Sources within Al-Shabaab told CNN that nine names listed on a Twitter site — now suspended — were people who were among the alleged hostage-takers. Three of the alleged attackers are from the United States, two are from Somalia and there is one each from Canada, Finland, Kenya and the United Kingdom, according to the list.” Read more.

Islamists Slaughtered Any Man, Woman Or Child Who Could Not Recite The Qur’an – “It said last night on Twitter that Samantha Lewthwaite, the ‘white widow’ of London 7/7 bomber Jermaine Lindsay, was ‘in their ranks’ and a ‘brave lady’… The attack saw men, women and children slaughtered if they could not recite the Koran or name the mother of the Prophet Mohammed. As well as boasting Lewthwaite was with them, Al Shabaab claimed two British men from London, Liban Adam, 23, and Ahmed Nasir Shirdoon, 24, were among the ‘holy warriors’ in the attack. By Emily Allen, Mail Online – “Two suicide bombers detonated their explosives outside a historic church in Pakistan today killing 85 people in the deadliest-ever attack on the country’s Christian minority.

The Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility for the bombing in the city of Peshawar, saying it would continue to target non-Muslims until the US stopped drone attacks in the country’s remote tribal region.

The latest drone strike came on Sunday when missiles hit a pair of compounds in the North Waziristan tribal area, killing six suspected militants, Pakistani intelligence officials said.

The attack on All Saints Church, which also wounded 140 people, underlines the threat posed by the Pakistani Taliban at a time when the government is seeking a peace deal with the militants.

The attack occurred as hundreds of worshippers were coming out of the church in the city’s Kohati Gate district after services to get a free meal of rice.

Survivors wailed and hugged each other in the wake of the blasts. The white walls of the church, which first opened in the late 1800s, were pockmarked with holes caused by ball bearings or other metal objects contained in the bombs to cause maximum damage.

Blood stained the floor and was splashed on the walls. Plates filled with rice were scattered across the ground.

The attack was carried out by a pair of suicide bombers who detonated their explosives almost simultaneously. Authorities found body parts and have been trying to determine their age.

The blasts killed 85 people and wounded another 140. The dead included women and children.

The number of casualties from the blasts was so high that the hospital was running out of caskets for the dead and beds for the wounded, said Mian Iftikhar Hussain, a former information minister of surrounding Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province who was on the scene.” Read more.

Fox News – “Dozens of hostages are holed up in an upscale shopping mall in Kenya’s capital, forced to hide from gunmen following an attack by members of an Al Qaeda-linked Somali militant group on Saturday that left at least 68 dead and 175 injured.

The Kenyan military remained in a tense standoff with Islamic extremists in Nairobi throughout Sunday, as exchanges of gunfire between both sides were heard inside the mall, Reuters reports.

After night fell, Kenyan police began a ‘major’ assault on the militants. ‘This will end tonight,’ Kenya’s Disaster Operation Center said.

The announcement came after Associated Press reporters said they heard a large explosion followed by silence.

Kenya’s president, Uhuru Kenyatta, said in a national address Sunday that security forces had managed to isolate the ‘criminals’ in one place inside the building, according to Reuters. Two helicopters were seen flying over the mall.

There are between 50 to 200 hostages and most of them are hiding in various places inside the mall, Fox News confirms. They are not being held by the hostage-takers. There are between 10 to 15 militants currently inside the mall, with at least one being female.

Former Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga said earlier Sunday that ‘quite a number of people still being held hostage.’

But some of the people in hiding managed to escape, according to Kenyan media reports.

Cecile Ndwiga said she had been hiding under a car in the basement parking garage.

‘I called my husband to ask the soldiers to come and rescue me. Because I couldn’t just walk out anyhow. The shootout was all over here — left, right– just gun shots,’ she said.

Police said that 49 people had been reported missing, according to a statement released by Kenya’s Red Cross.” Read more.

Morning Star News – “Shouting that he was killing ‘an infidel who blasphemed against Muhammad,’ a Muslim in Karachi on Saturday (Sept. 14) slit a Christian’s throat as police and others looked on, according to the slain man’s son.

George Masih told Morning Star News that his father, 58-year-old Boota Masih, worked as a gold scavenger in Karachi’s Liaquatabad Gold Market for 30 years, and that the Muslim who killed him also gathered gold dust from jewellers’ rugs or work carpets at the market.

Police informed the family that a Muslim, later identified as Muhammad Asif, had killed Boota Masih by slitting his throat with a dagger and then stabbing him multiple times.

‘We were told that Asif kept shouting that my father was an infidel and had spoken derogatory words against Muhammad [Islam’s prophet] as he mercilessly stabbed him,’ Masih said. ‘A large number of people, including four policemen and private security guards of the market, witnessed the entire scene, but no one tried to stop the killer, who walked away waving the dagger in his hand.’

A police spokesman told Morning Star News that the four policemen stationed at the market said they were not present at the scene of the murder.

Masih said the family had registered case No. 226/13 with the Liaquatabad Police Station, but that police were making little effort to arrest the murderer. Liaquatabad, a bastion of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement party accused of involvement in Karachi crime rings, is notorious for abductions, extortion and murders/assassinations. Boota and his family live in another area.

‘We asked everyone in the market if my father had said or done anything to deserve such a brutal death, but not one person complained against him,’ he said. ‘They all said that he was a humble man and had never committed blasphemy as alleged by the killer. But if my father was innocent, why did the people just stand there and watch him being killed in this manner?’

He added that when police came to the murder scene, no one came forward to record a statement.

‘Even if my father had said something to offend the killer, is this how he should have been punished?’ he said. ‘The entire market testifies to his humility, but not one of them has come on the record to bear witness to the crime.’

Masih said that the police attitude had not changed, as officers had yet to make an arrest.

‘After my father’s killing in the presence of so many people, it is quite clear that any Muslim can get away with murder just by claiming that they had killed a blasphemer,’ he said.” Read more.

The summation of the law of YHWH, the One True God of the Bible, hangs upon loving the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, strength and loving your neighbor as yourself. Church Destroyed By Muslims

The Christian Post – “After security forces stormed the village of Delga earlier this week and arrested a number of extremists wanted for assaulting police and vandalizing local churches, Egypt’s Islamic party Gamaat Islamiya threatened to target Copts in retaliation.

In a statement issued by its political arm, the Building and Development Party, it said: ‘Any harassment to Delga’s locals will ignite a state of ill-feelings towards its Christian locals, which needs to be prevented.’

‘The crackdown on Delga was made due to its anti-coup stance … ,’ according to the statement. ‘This campaign has proved that all claims of weapons stashed in the village are lies, as according to its announcement there was little or no resistance.’

‘The Islamic current has been freed of charges accusing it of assaulting Christians; as the attacks were made by thugs who have strong ties to security services,’ the statement continued.

‘These campaigns on villages that oppose the coup, in order to terrorize them, have failed. Instead, Delga’s locals demonstrated the same day the village was stormed, making it a symbol of steadfastness,’ the statement concluded.

Copts in the village of Delga had been blockaded in by Islamists, who harass them, attack their homes and businesses and force them to pay ‘Jiziya,’ a religious extortion tax. Several homes, and churches were also been looted and burned.” Read more.

By Felix Corley, Forum 18 News Service – “Police in the Turkmen city of Mary have resumed pressure on relatives, friends and members of the Protestant congregation led by former religious prisoner of conscience Pastor Ilmurad Nurliev. One police officer threatened to ‘tear off’ the head of one of his relatives if she adopted ‘their faith’, Pastor Nurliev told Forum 18 News Service from Mary on 17 September. ‘We’ve got no peace,’ his wife Maya added. Officials are interrogating all those they can find who signed the church’s rejected 2007 registration application.

Denied state registration, Pastor Nurliev’s community – Light to the World Church – has been unable to meet for worship in recent years ‘because of the circumstances’, he lamented to Forum 18.

The interrogations, threats and insults come as Turkmenistan has adopted a new Code of Administrative Offences which will come into force on 1 January 2014. The new Code prescribes new punishments for religious activity in defiance of Turkmenistan’s claims to the United Nations (UN) Human Rights Council in Geneva (see below).

Numerous religious communities have been raided and individuals have faced fines under the current Code of Administrative Offences for exercising the right to freedom of religion or belief. These include the leader of a Baptist children’s summer camp in Mary raided in late June …

The most recent trouble for Pastor Nurliev, his relatives and church members began on Sunday 15 September, he told Forum 18. ‘Yesterday [16 September] I was summoned to the Criminal Investigation Department, where I was questioned by officer Rahman Rahmanov.’

Many of his relatives, his wife’s relatives, and all those they could find of the dozen or so church members who signed the 2007 registration application have been summoned, had their fingerprints and photos taken, been forced to write statements and been subjected to threats and insults, he said. ‘They told me it was because of people like us that Syria is facing conflict.’

Pastor Nurliev said police even wanted to know about people on the registration application who had died or moved away or no longer had contact with the church.

Maya Nurlieva, the pastor’s wife, was summoned to the local police station on 16 September, where Captain Sapar Atabayev interrogated her for three hours. ‘He threatened, insulted and shouted at me for all that time,’ she told Forum 18. She had to provide a written account of her life, including information on when she became a Christian.” Read more.
