By Michael W. Chapman, CNS News – “The Islamic State beheaded 21 Egyptian Christians over the weekend, propping the severed heads on the victims’ backs, a barbaric slaughter that led Reverend Franklin Graham to ask, ‘Can you imagine the outcry if 21 Muslims had been beheaded by Christians?’

‘Where is the universal condemnation by Muslim leaders around the world?’ he asked.

The brutal killing of the 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians, who had been abducted in Libya by members of the Islamic State, was videotaped and the entire death film was posted online on Sunday, Feb. 15. It is entitled, ‘A Message Signed With Blood, To The Nation of the Cross.’

In a Facebook post on Feb. 16, Rev. Graham, who heads the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, said, ‘The militant Islamic terrorist group ISIS has released a video called A MESSAGE SIGNED WITH BLOOD TO THE NATION OF THE CROSS  showing the beheadings of the 21 Egyptian Christians who had been kidnapped in Libya.’

‘Can you imagine the outcry if 21 Muslims had been beheaded by Christians?’ said Rev. Graham. ‘Where is the universal condemnation by Muslim leaders around the world?’

‘As we mourn with the families of those 21 martyrs, we’d better take this warning seriously as these acts of terror will only spread throughout Europe and the United States,’ warned Rev. Graham.

Here is an update on this story. The Islamic State has beheaded all 21 Christians because of their faith in Jesus and the Word of God and for their refusal to submit to Islam. Today they sleep, but tomorrow they will be awakened …

Nigerian Bulletin – “US intelligence officers say that the Boko Haram sect looks to be planning an attack on Maiduguri, a city with 2 million people in North-East Nigeria. This, it says, could mean 200,000 Christians could be at ‘risk of slaughter.’

J. Peter Pham said: ‘An attack on Madiguri is very likely,’ and he and a couple of experts believe that the terrorists have put ‘sleeper cells’ among refugees who have fled areas where the group attacked.

ANSAmed – “Twenty-one Egyptian Christians kidnapped by Isis in Libya around New Year’s are feared dead, after Twitter accounts linked to the Libyan branch of the so-called ‘Islamic State’ announced they had been slaughtered. There is no official confirmation yet but Egyptian media believe the news to be reliable and two pictures released by the same Twitter sources show what they describe as ‘the Islamic State carrying out the execution of Coptic prisoners in the province of Tripoli’. In the first picture five men wearing the notorious orange jumpsuit are kneeling while hooded hangmen armed with knives stand behind them. The caption, written in English, describes them as ‘the humiliated followers of the Coptic church’. In another picture more men wearing the orange jumpsuit appear in a line with their executioners under a message in English that reads ‘revenge for the Muslim women persecuted by Coptic crusaders in Egypt’. These pictures along with others were published by Dabiq, Isis’ online magazine in English, together with an announcement of the kidnapping but not of the execution. The abduction, already described by several sources as having taken place around New Year’s, was claimed on January 12 and there remains a faint hope that the news of the execution on Twitter is a fake stretching of the images released. The Egyptian government which set up a special crisis unit to follow the kidnapping did not confirm the death of the Copts.

Intense contacts ‘have been established with Libyan counterparts to clarify the situation and assess the truthfulness’ of the information provided reads a statement by the presidency. In the aftermath of the fall of Muammar Gheddafi, Libya has plunged into chaos with two governments claiming power with two armies and distinct militias. Within this framework the Islamic State managed to create a caliphate in the city of Derna and to extend its realm of action more or less as far as Tripoli and Bengasi. The Christian minority in Libya is increasingly at risk especially in the east of Libya where radical Islamists have grown more powerful and acts of intimidation and violence against Copts have risen. By Jared Owens and Dan Box, The Australian – “A VIDEO seized from the home of two Sydney men arrested this week shows a self-described ‘soldier of the caliphate’ brandishing a knife and pledging to begin ‘stabbing the kidneys and striking the necks’ of Islamic State’s enemies, Tony Abbott has told parliament.

Omar Al-Kutobi, 24, and Mohammad Kiad, 25, were allegedly about to kill or harm a member of the public with a knife as part of a terrorist attack but were arrested at a property in Sydney’s west on Tuesday afternoon.

The Prime Minister this afternoon gave a graphic description of the video, which he was shown at a counter-terrorism briefing in Canberra this morning.

‘Kneeling before the death cult flag with a knife in his hand and a machete before him one of those arrested said this: ‘I swear to all mighty Allah, we will carry out the first operation for the soldiers of the caliphate in Australia’,’ Mr Abbott told parliament.

‘He went on to say, Madam Speaker: ‘I swear to all mighty Allah, blond people, there is no room for blame between you and us. We only are you, stabbing the kidneys and striking the necks’.’ …

Earlier today, Immigration Minister Peter Dutton said one of the men suspected of planning a terror plot to kill a member of the public might have flown to Australia with false documentation.

The men were allegedly about to kill or harm a member of the public with a knife as part of a terrorist attack but were arrested on Tuesday afternoon at a property in Sydney’s west.

Police have alleged a machete, a hunting knife and an Islamic State flag were seized from a small, converted garage that the men shared in Fairfield in Sydney’s west.

Mr Dutton has now asked for an urgent review following suggestions one of the suspects used false documentation to enter Australia. He said there were about 50,000 people who also arrived on boats around that time, hampering intelligence agencies’ ability to check every person thoroughly.

‘It is a difficult situation, particularly that period of time, for the intelligence agencies,’ Mr Dutton said.” Read more.

In all likelihood their targets would have been local Jews or Christians. When it comes to being the type of Muslim that the “prophet” of Islam wanted his followers to be and the barbaric practice of beheading, you cannot become the one without preparing for the other …

By Ean Higgins and Dan Box, The Australian – “PRIME Minister Tony Abbott says NSW Police have saved the nation from a third brush with terrorism.

‘This country has already had two brushes with terrorism,’ Mr Abbott told parliament today following the arrest this morning of two men during terror raids in Sydney.

‘There was the attack on police officers in Victoria in September, and then we had the terrorist incident in Martin Place in December. We could easily have had a third but for strong action by NSW Police and the joint counterterrorist team.’

Omar al-Kutobi, 24, and Mohammad Kiad, 25 are suspected of planning to carry out an attack yesterday, amid suspicions they were plotting a public beheading.

A machete, a hunting knife and a flag associated with Islamic State were among items seized in the raids on their Fairfield home, along with a video of a man talking about carrying out an attack.

Neither man appeared during a brief hearing in Fairfield court, in Sydney’s west this afternoon, where prosecutor Michael Allnutt said they are facing a ‘very, very serious allegation.’

Both have been charged with preparing or planning a terrorist act.

Court documents show the two men have been charged with committing ‘an act in preparation/planning a terrorist act’ at some point between 12pm on Monday and 4.40pm yesterday afternoon.

While it is not yet known what the act was, it seems police responded quickly, arresting them at 4.40pm yesterday afternoon.

‘On 10 February 2015, in the state of New South Wales and elsewhere, (the two men) did commit an act in preparation for, or planning a terrorist act,’ the documents said.

Both men are expected to appear by video-link in Sydney’s Central Local Court, where they will also be provided with an Arabic translator, the documents show.

Mr Abbott, asked in parliament about the arrests, said counterterrorism agencies had thwarted ‘an imminent attack’ against Australians.

‘Police found a large ISIL or Daesh flag, a machete, a hunting knife and a video of a recording of one suspect kneeling in front of the ISIL flag with the two knives while making a statement in Arabic,’ the Prime Minister told parliament.

‘This was an imminent attack in Australia inspired by the ISIL or Daesh death cult.’ Read more.

By David Curry, FOX News – “Boko Haram continues its march toward making Nigeria an Islamic state. A few weeks ago, as the world focused on the terror attacks in Paris, the group continued its murderous rampage across the northern part of the country. Last weekend it killed dozens in Maiduguri. These are just the latest atrocities from Boko Haram, which has kidnapped hundreds of schoolchildren, murdered thousands of innocent men, women and children and driven hundreds of thousands more from their homes.

Unfortunately, all indicators point to the likelihood that the worst is yet to come.

Last month, Open Doors released its 2015 World Watch List, an annual survey of the most dangerous and difficult places in the world to be a Christian. This year’s report uncovered some startling and worrisome trends. In every region of the world — Africa, Asia and even in the Americas — persecution of Christians is growing. There was not one country on the 2015 list that decreased its acts of violence and persecution from the previous year. The escalation of violence over the past year was so great that the threshold used to create the list had to be increased. With nearly twice the number of Christians persecuted over the previous year, it’s clear why Christians should be very concerned.

What may not be as clear is why everyone else should care.

What all Americans must understand is this: Ending the persecution of Christians is not just morally right; it is in our national interest. When we promote and defend freedom of religious expression throughout the world we are making the world safer for oppressed peoples, we are promoting a value that keeps extremism of any kind in check.

After 13 years of creating the World Watch List in its modern form, Open Doors has observed that the persecution of Christians is a lead harbinger for discord in the wider society. If history teaches us anything, it is to pay attention to the signs that warn of geopolitical upheaval; in particular, the restriction of religious minority groups.  When religious minorities are first marginalized within a society, then targeted for attacks without notice from the free societies around the world, a purge is the next logical step in the mind of extremists.

For example, more than a decade ago, Christians in Iraq worshipped in relative peace. Even under the brutal dictatorship of Saddam Hussein, they faced no greater threat to their freedom than the general population of Iraq. But now Iraq ranks third on the World Watch List as one of the most brutal places for expression of the Christian faith.

By Raymond Ibrahim, The Commentator – “The one glaring fact concerning the persecution of approximately 100 million Christians around the world today is that the overwhelming majority of it is being committed by Muslims of all races, nationalities, languages, and socio-political circumstances.

Muslims from among America’s allies (Saudi Arabia) and from its enemies (Iran); Muslims from economically rich nations (Qatar) and from poor nations (Somalia and Yemen); Muslims from ‘Islamic republic’ nations (Afghanistan) and from ‘moderate’ nations (Malaysia and Indonesia); Muslims from nations rescued by America (Kuwait) and Muslims from nations claiming ‘grievances’ against the U.S. (fill in the blank __).

This fact is underscored in Open Doors’ recent 2015 World Watch List — a report that highlights and ranks the 50 worst nations persecuting Christians.

It finds that ‘Islamic extremism’ is the main source of persecution in 40 of the top 50 countries — that is, 80 percent of the nations where Christians are persecuted are Muslim.

As for the top ten worst countries persecuting Christians, nine of them are Muslim-majority — that is, 90 percent of nations where Christians experience ‘extreme persecution’ are Muslim.

Still, considering that the 2015 World Watch List ranks North Korea — non-Islamic, communist — as the number one worst persecutor of Christians, why belabor the religious identity of Muslims?

Surely Christian persecution is not intrinsic to the Islamic world, but is a product of repressive regimes and other socio-economic factors — as the North Korean example suggests and as many analysts and media maintain?

Here we come to some critically important but blurred distinctions.

While Christians are indeed suffering extreme persecution in North Korea, these fall into the realm of the temporal and aberrant.  Something as simple as overthrowing the North Korean regime would likely end persecution there overnight — just as the fall of Communist Soviet Union saw religious persecution come to a quick close.

In the Islamic world, however, a similar scenario would not alleviate the sufferings of Christians one iota. Quite the opposite; where dictators fall (often thanks to U.S. intervention) — Saddam in Iraq, Qaddafi in Libya, and ongoing attempts against Assad in Syria — Christian persecution dramatically rises.

Today Iraq is the third worst nation in the world in which to be Christian, Syria fourth, and Libya 13th.

The reason for this dichotomy is that Christian persecution by non-Muslims (mostly communists) is often rooted in a particular regime.  Conversely, Muslim persecution of Christians is perennial, existential, and far transcends this or that regime or ruler. It is part and parcel of the history, doctrines, and socio-political makeup of Islam — hence its tenacity; hence its ubiquity.

Moreover, atheistic communism is a relatively new phenomenon — about a century old — and, over the years, its rule (if not variants of its ideology) has greatly waned, so that only a handful of nations today are communist.

On the other hand, Muslim persecution of Christians is as old as Islam. It is a well-documented, even if suppressed, history.

To further understand the differences between temporal and existential persecution, consider Russia. Under communism, its own Christians were grossly persecuted; yet today, after the fall of the USSR, Russia is again reclaiming its Orthodox Christian heritage (and is prominent among Western nations for showing support for persecuted Christians).

North Korea — where Kim Jong-Un is worshipped as a god and the people are shielded from reality — seems to be experiencing what Russia did under the Soviet Union. But if the once mighty USSR could not persevere, surely it’s a matter of time before tiny North Korea’s walls also come crumbling down, with the resulting religious freedom that former communist nations have experienced.

(Tellingly, the only countries that were part of the USSR that still persecute Christians are Muslim, such as Uzbekistan, ranked #15, ‘severe persecution,’ and Turkmenistan, ranked #20, also ‘severe persecution.’)

Time, however, is not on the side of Christians living amid Muslims; quite the opposite.” Read more.

Yet again, a self-deceiving Barack Hussein Obama speaks his folly. The summation of the law of YHWH — the One True God of the Bible — rests upon love. Where no such love exists, however, only lawlessness remains. The perfect “god-like” man of Islam — the “prophet” Mohammed — commands unadulterated lawlessness and the wars that accompany it with the hatred of the God of Israel and the desired destruction of the Israel of God. We see this reflected daily by the Islamic State and like-minded co-religionists. But the perfect God-Man of Christianity — Jesus the Messiah — commanded that we fulfill the Law of God through love. Whereas offensive behavior committed in the name of Islam is a genuine reflection of Mohammed’s teachings, offensive behavior committed in the name of Christianity is a departure from the genuine teachings of Christ. And no, Mr. Obama, The Crusades were not offensive wars and without cause. They were completely defensive to protect Christendom from invading blood-thirsty, war-hungry Muslims whose own teachings commanded them to wage war and rule the world for the cause of “Allah.” Unsurprisingly, rudimentary history such as this is evidently too difficult for the likes of an Ignoramus-in-Chief …

By Raymond Ibrahim, FrontPage Mag – “As the world reacts with shock and horror at the increasingly savage deeds of the Islamic State (IS) — in this case, the recent immolation of a captive — U.S. President Obama’s response has been one of nonjudgmental relativism.

Speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast on February 5, Obama counseled Americans to get off their ‘high horse’ and remember that Christians have been equally guilty of such atrocities:

Unless we get on our high horse and think this [beheadings, sex-slavery, crucifixion, roasting humans] is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.

There is so much to be said here.  First, the obvious: the wide gulf between violence and hate ‘justified in the name of Christ’ and violence and hate ‘justified in the name of Muhammad’ is that Christ never justified it, while Muhammad continuously did.

This is not just a theoretic point; it is the very reason that Muslims are still committing savage atrocities.  Every evil act IS commits — whether beheading, crucifying, raping, enslaving, or immolating humans — has precedents in the deeds of Muhammad, that most ‘perfect’ and ‘moral’ man, per Koran 33:21 and 68:4 (see ‘The Islamic State and Islam’ for parallels).

Does Obama know something about Christ — who eschewed violence and told people to love and forgive their enemies — that we don’t?  Perhaps he’s clinging to that solitary verse that academics like Philip Jenkins habitually highlight, that Christ — who ‘spoke to the multitudes in parables and without a parable spoke not’ once said, ‘I come not to bring peace but a sword.’ (Matt. 10:34, 13:34).

Jesus was not commanding violence against non-Christians but rather predicting that Christians will be persecuted, including by family members (as, for example, when a Muslim family slaughters their child for ‘apostatizing’ to Christianity as happens frequently).

By Ari Yashar, INN – “Islamic State (ISIS) terrorists in Syria appear to have started a new trend when they released video on Tuesday of themselves burning a Jordanian pilot to death; officials in Cameroon reported on Thursday that Boko Haram Islamistterrorists have shot and burned to death at least 91 civilians.

The slaughter occurred during two days of fighting in a town near the Nigerian border named Fotokol, and aside from the murdered another 500 were reportedly wounded, reports The Associated Press.

Around 800 jihadists of the terror group that has been waging a five-year Islamist insurgency in Nigeria crossed the border to take part in the massacre, in which they ‘burned churches, mosques and villages and slaughtered youth who resisted joining them to fight Cameroonian forces,’ Information Minister Issa Tchiroma Bakari told the news agency.

He added that livestock and food were also raided during the fighting, noting that the violence broke out on Wednesday and has been blazing on into Thursday. Schools have also been burned down by the terrorists, whose name Boko Haram means ‘Western education is forbidden.’

Cameroon’s military spokesperson Col. Didier Badjeck revealed that even though reinforcements have reached the town, the combat is still bogged down due to the fact that the terrorists are using civilians as human shields.

Nevertheless, the country’s Defense Minister Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo reported that hundreds of the terrorists died in the fighting Wednesday, whereas only 13 Chadian and six Cameroonian soldiers fell.

The minister added that it remains impossible to bring most of the over 500 wounded to hospital due to the ongoing fighting.” Read more.
