Iran: Jailed Pastor Refuses to Deny Christ, Rejects Mohammed as ‘Messenger Sent by God’
James 5:11a, “Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord …”
By Stefan J. Bos – “TEHRAN, IRAN (BosNewsLife)– Iranian Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani has rejected an offer to be released from prison if he publicly acknowledges Islam’s prophet Mohammed as ‘a messenger sent by God’ well-informed Christians and rights activists said Friday, January 13.
Iranian authorities reportedly summoned lawyers for Pastor Nadarkhani to his home city of Rasht on December 30, to explain the deal. Local officials indicated they would release the pastor if he agreed to make the statement about Mohammed, Christians with close knowledge about the situation explained.
‘However, Pastor Nadarkhani has refused to do so, and remains in prison awaiting a final decision on his case,’ confirmed advocacy group Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) in a statement to BosNewsLife.
Christians said the pastor has made clear that making the demanded statement about Muhammed would amount to abandoning his faith in Jesus Christ.
Another source assisting the pastor told BosNewsLife there is concern about the renewed pressure on Nadarkhani, who faces execution for refusing to recant his Christian faith and return to Islam…
‘Keep in mind that brother Youcef has not had a Bible the entire two years and about three months that he has been in prison. He has no access to a computer or the outside world other than meeting with his wife and family,’ the source said.
Yet, the Christian said that ‘The Holy Spirit is sustaining him in his faith and endurance’. He added that the 34-year-old pastor, who is married with two children, ‘is healthy in mind and body and his faith is as strong as ever.'” Read more.

What a testimony–that’s awesome. God give him strength and joy.

Oops, that was me – anonymous sometimes. Here’s an interesting article you probably saw too: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/151739#.TxMF1IF9NI4
Russia has given Iran its bear hug and warns Israel and the West that an attack on Tehran would be considered an attack on Moscow. The threat heightens the prospect of World War III in the event of a military strike on Iran.
“Iran is our neighbor,” Russia’s outgoing ambassador to NATO, Dmitry Rogozin, told reporters in Brussels. “And if Iran is involved in any military action, it’s a direct threat to our security.”
Kremlin Security Council head Nikolai Patrushev accused Israel of provoking the United States towards war against Iran, the Russian Interfax news agency reported Friday. “But at the same time, we believe that any country has the right to have what it needs to feel comfortable, including Iran,” he added.
Rogozin warned on Friday that more attacks on Iran could cause “a scorching Arab Summer.”
Russia also has come to the defense of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, warning Western nations not to intervene in Syria with military forces. Russia is a major arms supplier to Syria and has a heavy investment in Iran’s nuclear facilities.
Japan also is drifting towards Iran, backtracking from its promise last week to back American sanctions aimed at persuading Iran to halt its unsupervised nuclear development…

Another story that gave me pause today is this:
Iran Warns Gulf Arabs on Oil – http://apnews.myway.com/article/20120115/D9S9EUU00.html
It’s not to hard to imagine a scenario where Iran decides to lob a few missiles on SA’s oil fields in retaliation for helping the West by increasing oil output in the event the Straits of Hormuz are closed. Hello Isaiah 21 and 34.
If you want to see those “streams” which will burn like pitch, get on Google Earth and find Al Hasa in eastern Saudi Arabia, just northwest of Qatar. The world’s largest oilfield is located just west of Al Hasa. Dozens of oil pipelines fan out across the desert from this location – like streams in the desert. Easily within range of Iran’s missiles.

I agree AHF, I think it is only a matter of time before Iran and its allies launch an attack against Saudi Arabia.
