Void of Reason: President Obama Proposes Sending $800 Million in Taxpayer Dollars to Aid the ‘Arab Spring’
Way to go, Mr. President. Other than fueling the Islamist agenda and expanding America’s $16 trillion dollar deficit waistline, throwing away hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars to promote the “Arab Spring” will do nothing. Why not just donate stacks of greenbacks to the homeless who are freezing right now throughout Europe? They could put it to good use and burn it for some much needed warmth. But it seems that you’d rather aid the “Arab Spring” in an effort to somehow instill sudden, fuzzy-warm feelings in the hearts and minds of Islamists instead. President BO, not only do your policies stink, you’re much more out of touch with reality than I could have ever imagined …
By Susan Cornwell – “(Reuters) – The White House announced plans on Monday to help ‘Arab Spring’ countries swept by revolutions with more than $800 million in economic aid, while maintaining U.S. military aid to Egypt.
In his annual budget message to Congress, President Barack Obama asked that military aid to Egypt be kept at the level of recent years — $1.3 billion — despite a crisis triggered by an Egyptian probe targeting American democracy activists.
The proposals are part of Obama’s budget request for fiscal year 2013, which begins October 1. His requests need the approval of Congress, where some lawmakers want to cut overseas spending to address U.S. budget shortfalls and are particularly angry at Egypt.
Obama proposed $51.6 billion in funding for the U.S. State Department and foreign aid overall, when $8.2 billion in assistance to war zones is included. The ‘core budget’ for the category would increase by 1.6 percent, officials said.
Most of the economic aid for the Arab Spring countries — $770 million — would go to establish a new ‘Middle East and North Africa Incentive Fund,’ the president said in his budget plan.
Analysts said it was difficult to tell how much of the proposal was actually new money.
‘As presented it’s very difficult to determine if the Arab spring fund is new wine in new bottles or old wine in new bottles,’ said John Norris, a former U.S. foreign aid worker now at the Center for American Progress.” Read more.
Flashback: The Terrifying Truth Behind the So-Called Arab Spring – “For the watching world, it encapsulates the reality that Egypt is rapidly sliding back into brutal tyranny. The overthrow of President Mubarak’s despotic regime in February is already a distant memory, and hopes for a new era of freedom following the Arab Spring have turned to dust… There has been little condemnation from the Islamist political parties, led by the Muslim Brotherhood. That is because the Islamists, no allies of the pro-democracy movement, are playing the long game. Ultimately, what they aim to construct is a Muslim state run according to strict, fundamentalist Sharia law. And they are well on their way to that goal.” Read more.
Flashback: ‘Arab Spring’ Becoming a Nightmare for Christians – “As Islamic groups gain power throughout the Middle East, Christians here fear for their safety and are concerned about their role with regard to the future of the volatile region. ‘I fear for the Christians of the Middle East because it’s a bad situation for them,’ Lebanese parliamentarian Samy Gemayel told WND… Christians have been a minority in numerous Middle East countries for several decades, facing routine mistreatment and occasional persecution for much of that time. However, in the last year, the so-called Arab Spring has sparked intensified concern, with reports of an increase in attacks against Christians …” Read more.
Flashback: Iranian General on the ‘Arab Spring’: Whether You Like It Or Not, Egypt and Other Nations Are Becoming ‘New Irans’ – “Egypt is becoming the new Iran, ‘whether you accept it or not,’ says a general in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. As the radical Islamic Muslim Brotherhood movement waits for an expected victory in the long and drawn-out legislative electins in Egypt, Iran is looking forward to Egypt being its next cog in the Islamic Empire that it hopes for and wants to head. ‘A number of major (new) Irans have been born in the region today. Egypt is a (new) Iran, whether you (the US-led West) accept it or not,’ reported the Iranian semi-official Fars News Agency, quoting Guards commander Major General Qassem Soleimani.” Read more.

I really shouldn’t be surprised that Obama has again made a decision void of reason. What else can we expect from a man who repeatedly demonstrates himself to be ‘the vice of reason’ virtually every time he opens his mouth? Needless to say, this news story should be very upsetting to every Christian who is well aware of the detrimental consequences that the “Arab Spring” has had on Christian communities throughout North Africa and the Middle East. Instead of aiding these Islamist revolutionaries, he needs to be drawing attention to the plight of Christians being murdered by them, doing everything he can to demand an end to the relentless persecution. But unfortunately, that’s obviously way too much to expect.

Kurt – any chance of getting Obama out of power with any of the GOP in the running

Shared article on facebook. What a huge contrast to America, once founded on protection of religious liberty. May God have mercy on us.

Willard, my prediction is “no”. I will vote for any of the republican candidates for pres in CA, but it won’t matter, since ours is a “winner take all” state and there are far more dems. I will vote for Santorum in the primary.

Willard, the bigger issue is that there is very little diff between Ds and Rs, and that there is an entrenched gov’t bureaucracy in Wash DC that has a lot of momentum, very difficult to turn. The U.S.’s problems obviously didn’t come about overnight and won’t be solved overnight either. Where the president definitely DOES have an effect is exactly in the topic with which we are all concerned – Israel, the M.E., and the world of Islam. So it does matter, but I just don’t give the Rs much chance of winning.

I would have to agree with your last comments – not much difference with either party – seems to be a power struggle between the two as to gets the financial rewards. It seems like actual governing has become a side issue. When Obama rejected the keystone pipeline I think it really opened a lot of eyes here in Canada as to how far the US had strayed from reality.
Regardless what ones position is on oil to reject a needed and a secure supply for the US over the Islamic dictatorships simply mind boggles me. The cost to the US for defending the worlds oil supply for all nations at the US tax payers expense with 100% borrowed money is simply incomprehensible. I am not into conspirary theories really but am beginning to think that there has to be something we are missing – It really does seem at times that there are others behind the scenes pressing the buttons so to speak – so many things just do not make any sense at all like this 800 million all the debit being pilled up, the roads to nowhere etc and etc – Even as a Canadian and should not have any reason Personnely to but I get very angry with what the 2 parties are doing to your nation.
I worked for a US Oil Drilling Contractor for 25 years over seas and it was the best experience of my life
God bless you Kurt and the USA
