UK: Exploding Meteor Creates Spectacular Fireball Over Wales, ‘I’ve Never Seen Something So Amazing In My Life’
The Telegraph – “A meteor has exploded above Wales causing a sonic boom which shook windows and set off car alarms.
Hundreds of people saw the fireball shoot across the night sky before exploding near their homes.
Sleeping children were woken by a ‘sonic boom’ created as the golf ball sized meteor exploded above South Wales.
Homeowner Steve Edwards, 56, said: ‘There was an enormous boom – It sounded like a bomb going off.
‘The force of it shook the windows in my house, woke up my children and caused car alarms to start going off in the streets.
‘I’m just glad none of it landed on my roof.’
Police and coastguards in South Wales had dozens of reports of a bright flash in the sky followed by a loud bang.
Witness Nathan Jones, 34, who lives in nearby St Athan, said: ‘I’ve never seen something so amazing in my life.
‘It had a heat trail behind, It was orange and white and very bright, and also seemed very close.
‘It looked like it was skimming through the atmosphere due to the curved path it was taking.’
The meteor was first spotted in the North West and amateur astronomers watched as it sped towards the border of Wales and the South West.
Hannah Sabido, 33, who spotted the meteor from her home in Bristol, said: ‘I first noticed it as a very bright glowing light behind cloud, travelling very fast.
‘It looked like a bright white ball with a long bright tail and possibly a green hue. It was brighter than the moon.'” Read more.

At noon, the police officers were ‘attacked by the family of the ‘jeune’, friends and a group which formed rapidly’ in the district of Cévennes, in the west of the City, and they were struck with iron bars, indicated the assistant prosecutor Patrick Desjardins.

The adolescent returned to the scene one hour later, his hands still bound by the handcuffs behind his back, and was arrested in turn, specified the Hérault director of public safety.

‘Worrying’: Bolivian Police Seize Nearly Two Tons Of Uranium Near The US Embassy In La Paz
If true, one has to ask the obvious, “What else is out there that authorities have yet to find?” This story was also published on Fox News Latino this morning, but it looks like it has since been “scrubbed” to now cast doubt on the original report. At any rate, a couple tons of uranium could produce a few “dirty bombs” that would need a little more than scrubbing to clean up …
Agence France-Presse – “Authorities in Bolivia said Tuesday they had seized nearly two tons of uranium stashed at a building in central La Paz and detained at least one person linked to the cache of radioactive material.
The material was found in a garage on the ground floor of a building in the city center, not far from the US and Brazilian embassies, Deputy Interior Minister Jorge Perez, who led the seizure operation, told a press conference.
Experts were to quickly analyze the material, which the minister said appeared to have a ‘high level of radioactivity.’ Perez did not explain how the discovery was made, or the specific nature of the uranium.
Perez said the uranium could have come from ‘Brazil or another neighboring country.’ He added that the material, found in heavy plastic bags as a result of a six–week investigation, was likely destined for Chile.
A fresh probe was launched to determine where the uranium came from, and where it was headed.
‘We are surprised [to find] material of this kind, which poses a health risk, in such large quantities, in the center of La Paz,’ Perez said.
Authorities did not say whether nearby residents would need to undergo medical examinations.
The head of the public mining company Comibol, Hector Cordova, said on private radio Erbol that the discovery was ‘worrying.’

Evidence Mounts Of Iran ‘Laughing All The Way To Nuclear Power’
By Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu, INN – “The United Nations nuclear inspection agency, IAEA, is beefing up attempts to force Iran to cooperate at the same time it is expected to report Iran has installed 350 new centrifuges since May.
The new centrifuges are in addition to a previously-reported 1,000 that have been installed, part of Iran’s plan to have 3,000 centrifuges working.
Newspapers from Pakistan to the United States reported Wednesday that the French news agency AFP quoted diplomats in Vienna that the IAEA will issue a report on Friday detailing Iran’s nuclear progress at the Fordow facility, buried deep underground in order to protect it from a bombing attack.
The nuclear site is enriching uranium to a concentration of 20 percent, far below the 90 percent grade needed for a nuclear bomb but easily upgraded to that level.
Iran continues to insist it is developing its nuclear facilities for peaceful purposes, but Ahmadinejad’s recent reiteration that Israel must be annihilated could be used by the Islamic Republic as reasoning that striking Israel with a nuclear warhead is part of its homemade ‘peace process.’
The IAEA reputedly is establishing a new ‘Task Force’ to get tough with Iran, which so far has succeeded to dodge nuclear inspectors.
Western dependence on diplomacy and sanctions has not convinced Israel that anything except military action can stop Iran, but even the IAEA has shown signs of giving up on Iran.
Last week, it was reported that Iran has ‘sanitized’ a nuclear research facility at a military to the point that it may be too late to inspect it.” Read more.

Iran Ready To Expand Ties ‘In All Arenas’ With North Korea
“TEHRAN – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali-Akbar Salehi said that the Islamic republic is ready to expand bilateral relations with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in all arenas, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Monday.
Salehi made the remarks when meeting with his DPRK counterpart, Pak Ui-chun, here on Sunday.
During the meeting held on the sidelines of the 16th Non- aligned Movement (NAM) summit in Tehran, Salehi referred to Iran’s experience in such fields as economy, industry, commerce and agriculture, and expressed Tehran’s readiness for the expansion of bilateral ties with the DPRK in all those sectors.
For his part, Pak underlined NAM’s role in resolving some international issues, according to Fars.
The expert-level meeting of the NAM summit which opened here on Sunday continues Monday, and will be followed by the ministerial- level meeting on August 28-29, and the summit on August 30-31.” Source – China Daily.

Syrian Rebels Claim To Take Over Chemical Weapons
By Elad Benari, INN – “The Supreme Military Council of the Syrian rebels released on a statement on Tuesday which said that the rebel forces took control of an army missile base in Damascus, in which ten ready-to-launch missiles were found. Some of the missiles, according to the statement, were converted to carry non-conventional warheads.
‘During the successful operation, the operatives of the Free Syrian Army found a large number of rockets ready for launching, with enormous destructive capability, and they were very surprised to find missiles that were converted to carry non-conventional warheads and which can be equipped with chemical or biological warheads,’ said the statement which was translated by Arab affairs expert Dalit Halevi.
The Supreme Military Council of the rebels went on to claim that it had confirmed the report by examining photographic documentation of the scene.
The Council warned that these facts indicate that the Assad regime is getting ready to bomb cities in Syria using these missiles, and the possibility that he will use missiles with unconventional warheads cannot be ruled out.
The Council called on Arab countries and the international community to immediately intervene in order to protect the lives of the Syrian people ‘before the regime moves to a new level of crimes, which will have tragic consequences for the entire region.’
On Monday, French President Francois Holllande warned that any use of chemical weapons by Syria would be sufficient reason for Western countries to intervene …” Read more.

Kenya: Two Killed After Muslim Rioters Attack Five Churches
ICC – “Washington, D.C. (August 28, 2012) –International Christian Concern (ICC) has learned that Muslim rioters attacked five churches and killed two people, including a policeman, in Mombasa, Kenya. The riots started yesterday and continued today after unknown gunmen killed Sheikh Aboud Rogo, a radical Muslim cleric.
The Muslim attackers blamed the police for the killing of Sheikh Rogo. He is accused of links with the Somali-based radical Islamic group, Al-Shabaab.
Christian leaders are enraged that their churches were targeted by the Muslim rioters. Speaking to ICC, one of the church leaders in the area said, ‘What is worrying us (Christians) is why [the Muslim mobs] attack church.’
The churches attacked by the Muslim mobs are: Mombasa Pentecostal Church, Jesus Celebration Center (the Redeemed Gospel Church), Neno Evangelistic Church, Salvation Army, and Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Somalia’s Islamic radical group, Al-Shabaab, supported the rioters. Their message to the Muslims said, ‘Muslims must take the matter into their own hands, stand united against the Kuffar (non-believers) and take all necessary measures to protect their religion, their honor, their property and their lives from the enemies of Islam.'” Source – Persecution.org.

Pakistan: Christians Forced To Flee Into The Wilderness To Escape Islamic Persecution
AP – “ISLAMABAD (AP) – In the middle of a forest in the Pakistani capital, a group of Christians has cut down trees to clear land and has begun to build a church out of branches after leaving their neighborhood in fear when one of their own was accused of violating Pakistan’s strict blasphemy laws.
The roughly 100 men, women and children who slept overnight on the ground in a clearing just a few miles (kilometers) from the seat of the Pakistani government are fallout from the case of a young Christian girl accused by a neighbor of burning pages from Islam’s holy book, the Quran. The case has spotlighted attention on the country’s strict blasphemy laws which can result in life in prison or even death for those accused.
‘We used to come here to collect wood for fuel so we find it a suitable place for shelter,’ said Sumera Zahid, who was feeding her three children and her parents. ‘Here it is not anybody’s home, nobody’s land. Let us live here in safety.’
Their ordeal began a little less than two weeks ago when a Christian girl was accused by a neighbor of burning pages of the Quran. Much of the case is still in question including the girl’s age, whether she was mentally impaired and what exactly she was burning. But as word of the blasphemy accusation spread, hundreds of people gathered at her house demanding something be done to the girl. The police eventually arrested her and are investigating whether she broke any law.
The Associated Press is withholding the girl’s name; the AP does not generally identify juveniles under 18 who are accused of crimes.
Most Christians in the neighborhood fled, fearing retribution from their Muslim neighbors. Christian residents also reported that their landlords evicted them.
After living with relatives and in churches, many of the Christians arrived at this clearing on Sunday, determined to build a home.
‘We are thankful to the Lord for this land although here is no water and food but rest assured the Lord will create water fountains and provide all fruits here for you if you remain patient and suffer these hardship, thanking the Lord,’ said Pastor Arif Masih.” Read more.

Arab News – “JEDDAH: A number of religious scholars and academics have stressed the need for the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowment, Call and Guidance to beef up monitoring of places of worship. It followed the recent report of a Riyadh mosque serving as a facade for manufacturing explosives.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement on Sunday that it discovered explosive substances and devices at a lean-to of a quiet mosque in Riyadh. Mosques normally use attached rooms to accommodate workers or for library service.
The scholars also demanded deterrent punishments to those who exploit the spiritual atmosphere in mosques to promote chaos in the country, Al-Madinah daily reported on Monday.
‘Those who seek to destabilize the country and fight against security forces come under the category of ‘those who rebel against Allah and His Messenger’ and a country’s legitimate government and hence should be punished severely,’ said Sheikh Abdullah Al-Manie, who is a member of the Council of Senior Religious Scholars and adviser at the Royal Court…
‘The Islamic Affairs Ministry should ensure that imams and muezzins inspect the mosque premises regularly and thoroughly, so that the facilities are not misused for subversive activities. The sacred houses of worship should not be converted into dens of destructive acts,’ he said.” Read more.
