MidEast Expert: ‘Spreading And Intensifying’ Enforcement Of Sharia Law Is Destroying Christian Population

By Martin Parsons, Conservative Home – “In the last few months, the persecution and partial eradication of ancient Christian communities in the Middle East has been debated by both MPs and peers. As Mark Field MP stated during December’s Commons debate:

Let us be honest: if this were happening to almost any other religious group it would be something of a national scandal. That makes it all the more important to put the ongoing persecution of Christians in many parts of the world on the political map.

Significantly, it is not just Christians who have begun to speak out on this issue, but also Muslims with King Abdullah of Jordan having convening a conference on the issue last September, while in the UK both Sayeeda Warsi and Rehman Chisti, the MP for Gillingham, have similarly voiced concern. Baroness Warsi warned in both a Daily Telegraph article and a major speech in the USA that violence against Christians is putting the very survival of Christianity in the Middle East at risk.

However, the nettle that must be grasped if we are to see anything effective done in this respect is to recognise that the growing enforcement of sharia is the principal cause of persecution of Christian minorities in Islamic countries.

That is an exceedingly uncomfortable truth for many Muslims to accept, many of whom have a somewhat romanticised view of what sharia means in practice. However, it must be emphasised that the issue is emphatically not individuals choosing to live their lives in accordance with those aspects of sharia that relate solely to them as individuals, it is the enforcement of sharia on non Muslims and indeed on liberal Muslims and anyone else who does not freely choose it that is the problem.

By sharia we mean the traditional interpretations followed by the four Sunni schools of sharia: Hanafi (followed primarily in the Urdu-Persian speaking world, Iraq, Syria and Jordan), Maliki (North and West Africa), Hanbali (Saudi Arabia and Kuwait), and Shafi (the rest of the Middle East, East Africa and SE Asia) as well as by the Shi’a Ja’fari school. All of these stipulate the death penalty for any adult male Muslim embracing another faith, the death penalty for any perceived criticism of the prophet of Islam and life imprisonment for any other perceived criticism of Islam; while the legal testimony of women and non Muslims is treated as having only half the value of that of a Muslim man. This has led to enormous injustices in countries such as Pakistan both in relation to false accusations of blasphemy made against non Muslims and for female victims of rape, who may not only be denied justice, but even arrested for making ‘false accusations’ as they cannot provide sufficient witnesses.

This enforcement of traditional sharia also empowers violent jihadists to advocate even more extreme measures against non Muslims, as recent history in Northern Nigeria all too tragically illustrates. However, the atrocities committed by violent jihadists should not blind us to the fact that the enforcement of traditional sharia is in itself a major cause of injustice and persecution particularly of non Muslim minorities in many Islamic countries.” Read more.

Nigeria: Christians Killed, Wounded After Islamic Herdsmen Attack Church

By BosNewsLife – “Suspected herdsmen from the mainly Muslim Fulani ethnic group stormed an evangelical church and fired shots during a New Year’s Eve worship service in central Nigeria, killing as many as three people and injuring 16 others, reports said Thursday, January 2.

Witnesses and officials told local media that gunmen began attacking the Church of Christ in All Nations (COCIN) at Maiakworigold Maikatako village in Bokkos Local Government Council of Plateau State late Tuesday, December 31.

Most people were killed or injured when worshipers tried to flee in different directions. Many of the injured were later rushed to hospitals in the cities of Jos and Barkin Ladi, Nigerian media reported.

The speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Titus Alams, reportedly said the attack overshadowed attempts to ‘sustain the current peace we are enjoying in the state.’

SECURITY URGED

Alams was quoted as saying that he urged security forces ‘to do everything in their power to fish out those responsible for this heinous crime against humanity’.

He appealed to the youths ‘to resist the urge of taking the law into their hands’ following the attack.

The latest violence comes amid growing concerns about rising Islamic extremism in Nigeria.” Read more.

Christian Bishop In Nigeria: ‘If Nigeria Falls To Islamist Extremists All Of Africa Will Be At Risk’

Nigerian Christians are confronted with the growing threat of radical Islam in the form of the extremely violent anti-Christian Boko Haram sect, which was declared a terrorist organization by the U.S.

With 160 million people, Nigeria is Africa’s most populous country. Just over 50 percent of the people are Christians, who form the majority in southern Nigeria; Muslims account for another 45 percent of the population, largely living in northern Nigeria. There are 30 million Catholics in the country. In 2012, close to 1,000 Christians died because of their faith in Nigeria, according to reports, and Boka Haram is responsible for the deaths of at least 700 Christians in 2013.

According to the bishop, Nigeria’s well-being holds the key to fate of the African content. ‘If Nigeria falls to Islamic extremists,’ he says, ‘all of Africa will be at risk.’ Bishop Egbebo spoke with Catholic charity Aid to the Church in Need Jan. 1, 2014.

Fulani tribesman in conjunction with Boko Haram militants massacred 70 Christians late last year in northern Nigeria and there are reports practically every week of new attacks. The group is said to charge the government with not responding to Christian attacks on Muslims. Is there any validity to that claim?

Revenge killings did take place in Jos, two years ago, and in Kaduna last winter, both of which are Christian strongholds. But the bishops strongly condemned the murder of Muslims at the hand of Christians, and such revenge attacks are very few now. Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama of Jos, president of the Nigerian bishops’ conference, has also called attention to what he calls Islamic propaganda — exaggerations of the number of Muslims killed — and he also pointed to instances where Muslims included the bodies of Christian victims among their own dead. The bishops have prevailed however, in the face of Boko Haram’s effort to provoke Christians into acts of retaliation and create chaos in the country. Of course, some Christians fight back if they are attacked.

What is the appeal of radical Islam? Why this hatred of Christians?

Boko Haram wants an Islamic state in the North, imposing shariah law on everyone. Hence, everything that is an obstacle to implementing that goal becomes a target for violence. Those obstacles include the government itself, the constitution, as well as the police and the army. Christians, moreover, are associated with the West, with the values of freedom and democracy and the promotion of education. That’s why Boko Haram is even attacking schools and killing children. These radicals believe that Western education should be forbidden — anything that builds up the Christian ethos.” Read more.

Fox News – “Violence in Iraq soared in 2013 to levels not seen in years, U.N. officials reported this week, stoking concerns that the country is descending into the kind of sectarian bloodshed that gripped the country before the U.S. troop surge.

The United Nations said 7,818 civilians were killed in 2013, a return to 2008 levels. The startling figure follows warnings from lawmakers and analysts that the violence threatens to undo hard-fought gains by the United States.

‘The level of indiscriminate violence in Iraq is unacceptable,’ U.N. Special Representative Nickolay Mladenov said in a statement, calling on the Iraqi government to curb ‘this infernal circle.’

U.S. troops withdrew from Iraq at the end of 2011. In the years immediately before and after that withdrawal, the level of violence remained relatively steady — and by Iraq standards, relatively low. The troop surge and other factors were credited with curbing the bloodshed from its 2004-2007 highs.

But the 2013 death toll is roughly double what it had been in recent years.

A number of factors are at play, and some are urging the Obama administration to get more involved — though there is little appetite to send U.S. troops back into the country.

The violence in Iraq began to surge in April, after the Shiite-led government staged a deadly crackdown on a Sunni protest camp.

Iraq’s Al Qaeda branch has fed on Sunni discontent and on the civil war in neighboring Syria, in which mostly Sunni rebels fight a government whose base is a Shiite offshoot sect. It has targeted civilians, particularly in Shiite areas of Baghdad, with waves of coordinated car bombings and other deadly attacks.” Read more.

Good News From France: Only 1,067 Cars Burned On New Year’s Eve — Down 10.6% From Last Year!

Has anyone bothered to consider that maybe the number of burned vehicles was down because some car owners learned a few valuable lessons from yesteryear regarding where and where not to park their wheels? (Hint: Move them as far away as possible from Muslim-dominated areas). At any rate, something remains terribly wrong — not only in the Muslim community, but in French society itself — when authorities are actually “encouraged” by the sight of “only” 1,067 torched cars …

Good news from Le Figaro:Manuel Valls has announced that only 1,067 cars were burned on New Year’s Eve, a 10.6% reduction over last year. The figures cover the period from 6:00 p.m. December 31 to 6:00 a.m. January 1.

The minister spoke of ‘positive results’ for the overnight period. ‘We must feel encouraged by these results.’

In addition, there were 322 persons arrested, with 217 held in custody. And five policemen and gendarmes were wounded….

Merah’. The town council quickly arranged for the graffiti to be erased. While it is normal for mosque desecrations in France to make national and even international headlines, so far there appear to have been no significant reporting of this event. No politicians have denounced it, declared that it runs contrary to the values of the Republic, promised a massive police operation to catch the perpetrators or harsh punishment for them when found. Japan: Mystery Steam Over Fukushima Could Be Sign Of Another Meltdown

By Ashley Feinberg, Gizmodo – “The newest update in the highly disconcerting series of devastating failures that is the Fukushima cleanup effort is troubling to say the least. Tepco has confirmed that (unexplained) plumes of steam have been rising from the mangled remains of Reactor Building 3. In other words, there’s a chance Fukushima could be in the middle of another meltdown.

The thing is, no one has been able to find out the exact cause of the rising, mysterious radioactive steam because the combination of physical damage and, more importantly, lethal radiation levels have made investigating the reactor impossible. Tepco has known that a followup meltdown was a severe possibility, though. The Reactor 3 fuel storage pond is still home to about 89 tons of plutonium-based mixed-oxide fuel according to the The Ecologist, and should that fuel storage pond dry out, the highly radioactive rods will melt down with devastating results.

Still, there are two other slightly less severe possibilities outlined by The Ecologist. First, the molten fuel could have burnt its way through the base and into the soil below, producing steam as it comes into contact with groundwater (while simultaneously releasing radioactive contaminants into the ocean). Second, reactor rod fragments could have come into contact with rainwater, producing extreme amounts of heat and, consequently, steam. As The Ecologist notes, ‘Of the three choices this is probably the least serious.’

While some of the possible outcomes might be better than others, nothing we’re facing is exactly ideal. But of course, that seems to be the recurring theme for Tepco’s efforts at containing the Fukushima disaster. Why change now.” Source – Gizmodo.

Inc., reactor No. 3 was filled with a controversial fuel called MOX (Mixed OXide) — a mixture of plutonium and uranium oxides … In a 1997 letter written to then President Bill Clinton, 171 organizations joined together requesting that the President prohibit the use of MOX plutonium fuel in commercial nuclear reactors. Not only was this type of fuel ‘experimental’ at the time the letter was written, it was also more easily utilized into weapons-grade material and ‘increased reactor hazards’ due to technical issues inherent with this type of fuel. ‘Plutonium in the system makes more — and more dangerous — types of radioactivity. This affects the discharges to air and water, and all waste types. Plutonium also affects the fission process itself, making it more difficult to control and leaving an even narrower margin for human error, as well as affecting the physical integrity of the reactor itself.'” Read more.

Flashback: Japan: Record Outdoor Radiation Level That ‘Can Kill In 20 Minutes’ Detected At Fukushima – “Outdoor radiation levels have reached their highest at Japan’s Fukushima nuclear plant, warns the operator company. Radiation found in an area near a steel pipe that connects reactor buildings could kill an exposed person in 20 minutes, local media reported. The plant’s operator and the utility responsible for the clean-up Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) detected record radiation levels on a duct which connects reactor buildings and the 120 meter tall ventilation pipe located outside on Friday. TEPCO measured radiation at eight locations around the pipe with the highest estimated at two locations – 25 Sieverts per hour and about 15 Sieverts per hour, the company said. This is the highest level ever detected outside the reactor buildings …” Read more.

The Muslim Suicide Convert: ‘It’s Gotten So Bad That Converting To Islam Is Almost A Form Of Suicide’

They follow a long string of Muslim terrorist converts, including the murderers of British soldier Lee Rigby, who were sentenced last month, and Terry Lee Loewen, who plotted to car bomb the Wichita Mid-Continent Airport that same month.

Muslim converts engage in terrorism at a higher rate than Muslims. It’s gotten so bad that converting to Islam is almost a form of suicide.

The popular theory is that Muslim terrorist groups use converts because they blend in better. But in most Western countries, screening by race is nearly illegal and even in targeted countries where it isn’t, there are usually many members of Muslim ethnic groups in most major cities.

There are four reasons for the rise of the Muslim Suicide Convert. Muslim converts are gullible, fanatical, suicidal and expendable.

Let’s start with the last one. Muslims usually come from tribal cultures with extended family groups. Despite its claims of transnationalism and multiculturalism, Islam is an ethnic religion with the descendants of Mohammed elevated over everyone else, the families in the region of his first conquests elevated over other Arabs, Arabs elevated over non-Arabs, Asian Muslims over African Muslims and African Muslims over Western converts to Islam.

A convert to Islam is lowest on the totem pole because he has no family group. In a tribal society, not having a family connection makes you an outsider. A Muslim who Jihads himself to death creates a hole in the network of arranged cousin marriages, illegal business arrangements and other extended family support structures. A Muslim convert was never part of the network unless he married into it. And even then he can easily be unplugged because he shares no common ancestry with them.

In a Muslim country, he can be killed without having to pay blood price. In a Western country, he can be sent off to die without the ‘tribe’ of Pakistanis or Egyptians who built the mosques and hired the Imams who converted him and convinced him to kill non-Muslims being affected by his death.

He is expendable.

Converts are not part of the family networks of the Muslim settlers in their Western diasporas. That makes them useful cannon fodder.
