OsunDefender – “The Boko Haram leader, Abubakar Shekau, has claimed responsibility for the recent attack on Giwa Barracks in Maiduguri, describing it as a huge success.

Mr. Shekau, in a new video released Sunday, claimed that thousands of his detained supporters were released and are back in their jungle hideouts.

The video also showed a full footage of how the barracks was attacked in shots apparently carefully taken by one of the attacking members of the Boko Haram sect.

The video had chilling details of how easily the Boko Haram gunmen invaded the fortified Giwa barracks, having ample time until the eventual jail break that saw to the release of virtually all the detainees, most of whom were seen hailing the gunmen and chanting Allahu Akbar.

Even women and children among the freed detainees were seen helping the Boko Haram members with information about the cells and the barracks’ geography.

The video contrasts the military’s version of the attack. The Nigerian military had said over 100 members of the Boko Haram sect were killed during the attack. The military said the attempt by the Boko Haram insurgents to free their detained members at the barracks failed.

Mr. Shekau, in another part of the video, said his next focus of attack would be members of the Civilian-JTF who he said had offended his group by helping the soldiers in the fight against them.

Mr. Shekau also reiterated his hate for western education and anything related to it. He threatened to attack universities if they are not shut.

The full text of his transcribed message delivered in Hausa and his local dialect, Kanuri, reads:

‘Of course there is no doubt about it; we carried out the attacks in Maiduguri and we were responsible for the other attacks being carried out all over. But the Giwa Barracks attack is something worth telling, because Allah has helped us to kill his enemies in Giwa Barracks. We launched the Maiduguri attacks and killed infidels in Giwa Barracks.

‘But specifically, I will devote half of my speech to the issue of Civilian JTF. Your name is not Civilian JTF but Civilian Trouble.

‘My advice to you so-called Civilian-JTF is to flee, take up arms, get conscripted into the army or police, because I am telling you is that I have started a war against you. The war against you has just begun.

‘In this world, there are two kinds of people; there are those who are with us or those who are against us, and the latter group are those I’ll kill once I spot them. From now on, my focus of attack is going to be the Civilian-JTF.

‘Let the Civilian-JTF know that this is me, Shekau talking. You will now really understand the person called Shekau. You don’t know my madness, right? It is now that you will see the true face of my madness. I swear by Allah’s holy name that I will slaughter you. I will not be happy if I don’t personally put my knife on your necks and slit your throats. Yes! I’ll slaughter you! I’ll slaughter you! And I’ll slaughter you again and again.

‘I call on all my followers and brethren wherever you are, to rise and take up arms and start killing the vagabond. Kill them, kill them and kill them. Now our religion and our way of worship is nothing but killings, killings and killings! Kill and slaughter but don’t eat them. You should spare the old, women, the lunatic, and the repentant.

‘You only succeeded in arresting innocent civilians in the city, placing tyres on their necks and setting them alight.

‘By Allah, I will kill you. Killing is my job. Let’s kill them all, we’d rather leave this world. Let the whole world perish! May Allah curse you!'” Read more.

The United Nations, Western governments, media, universities, and talking heads everywhere insist that Palestinians are suffering tremendous abuses from the state of Israel.  Conversely, the greatest human rights tragedy of our time — radical Muslim persecution of Christians, including in Palestinian controlled areas — is devotedly ignored.

The facts speak for themselves. Reliable estimates indicate that anywhere from 100-200 million Christians are persecuted every year; one Christian is martyred every five minutes. Approximately 85% of this persecution occurs in Muslim majority nations. In 1900, 20% of the Middle East was Christian. Today, less than 2% is.

In one week in Egypt alone, where my Christian family emigrated, the Muslim Brotherhood launched akristallnacht—attacking, destroying, and/or torching some 82 Christian churches (some of which were built in the 5th century, when Egypt was still a Christian-majority nation before the Islamic conquests).  Al-Qaeda’s black flag has been raised atop churches.  Christians — including priests, women and children — have been attacked, beheaded, and killed.

Nor is such persecution of Christians limited to Egypt.   From Morocco in the west to Indonesia in the east and from Central Asia to the north to sub-Saharan Africa to the south; across thousands of miles of lands inhabited by peoples who do not share the same races, languages, cultures, and/or socio-economic conditions, millions of Christians are being persecuted and in the same exact patterns.

Muslim converts to Christianity and Christian evangelists are attacked, imprisoned, and sometimes beheaded; countless churches across the Islamic world are being banned or bombed; Christian women and children are being abducted, enslaved, raped, and/or forced to renounce their faith.

Far from helping these Christian victims, U.S. policies are actually exacerbating their sufferings.  Whether in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, or Syria, and under the guise of the U.S.-supported ‘Arab Spring,’ things have gotten dramatically worse for Christians.  Indeed, during a recent U.S. congressional hearing, it was revealed that thousands of traumatized Syrian Christians — who, like Iraqi Christians before them are undergoing a mass exodus from their homeland — were asking ‘Why is America at war with us?’

The answer is that very few Americans have any clue concerning what is happening to their coreligionists.

The Armenian Weekly – “A delegation of priest from the Catholicosate of Cilicia who had visited Latakia to assess the needs of Kessab Armenians and express solidarity returned to Antelias after the Sunday Badarak.

According to the delegation, the local Armenian community, the International Red Cross, and the Red Crescent are providing assistance to those who have sought refuge in the city. An estimated 2,000 Kessab Armenians are currently in Latakia.

‘Many Armenian families are staying with relatives and friends, while others have sought refuge in the Armenian Church and the church’s hall,’ said Syrian Armenian community activist Nerses Sarkissian during a phone interview with Weekly editor Khatchig Mouradian.

‘The Aleppo Armenian Prelacy as well as the Red Crescent are providing relief and assistance to these families in Latakia,’ Sarkissian added.

Extremist fighters engage in robbery and desecration

The fighters, mostly from the extremist Nusra Front, who have entered Kessab are desecrating churches, pillaging houses, and destroying government buildings, Sarkissian told the Weekly. A few Syrian Armenians have been unable to leave Kessab, and their fate is unclear, he added.

Sarkissian underlined that the fighters came from the Turkish side of the border and are receiving support from the Turkish military. He noted that the injured among them are being transported back to Turkey to receive medical attention…

Perched in the northwestern corner of Syria, near the border with Turkey, Kessab had, until very recently, evaded major battles between the army and rebels. Many Syrians had taken refuge there because of the relative calm in the area over the past three years.” Read more.

Sweden: Police Entering Muslim ‘No-Go Zone’ Are Promptly Beaten By Locals

How are “infidel” law enforcement officers supposed to keep the peace when the “Religion of Peace” forbids it? …

AvPixlat (Translation) – “When a police patrol went to carry out a drug screening of a suspected gang of youths in the immigrant-dominated Gothenburg district of Bergsjön it ended up with two of the police officers knocked down and beaten with punches and kicks.

Several of the gang managed to flee the scene but two of the gang members, 18 and 21 years old, were apprehended and are now suspects in assault and assaulting a police officer.

They were released, however, for unknown reasons after interrogation. Police did say they take seriously this lack of respect for the police, an attitude, however, that is the rule rather than the exception among the gangs in the ‘multicultural’ neighbourhoods.

The assault took place in connection with a police patrol observed a gang of immigrant youths in Meteor Way in Bergsjön who had concerns about some of the gang had drugs on him.

One of the people that the allegations were made against became aggressive and tried to leave from the site. He was stopped by police but put up violent resistance, with the remaining gang members attacking a police officer.

Additional police officers were called to the scene but the gang still continued with their violence in which two policemen were injured by blows and kicks.

The police intervention that led to the gang beatings were part of the Gothenburg Police work against the large number of gang shootings and shootings that have occurred in Gothenburg recently.

AFP – “Attackers shot dead four worshippers on Sunday when they burst into a church service near the Kenyan port city of Mombasa, spraying the congregation with bullets, police said.

The attack, which also left about 17 people wounded, came amid heightened warnings of a threat of Islamist violence in Kenya and despite boosted security in major cities including Mombasa.

‘They were shot by gunmen who shot indiscriminately at worshippers and then fled,’ said local police chief Robert Mureithi, from the Likoni district just south of Mombasa.

Two people were killed instantly, while two more later died of their injuries, the Red Cross said, adding that 17 people had been taken to hospital.

Kenya’s National Disaster Operation Centre said there had been ‘mass casualties’ in the attack on an evangelical church.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but Kenya has been hit by a series of attacks since sending troops into southern Somalia in October 2011 to battle the Al Qaida-linked Al Shabab insurgents.

Kenyan troops, which have since joined the African Union force in Somalia, are taking part in a fresh offensive launched this month against Al Shabab bases.

Kenya and Uganda, another key contributor of troops to the AU force, have both warned of the threat of fresh Al Shabab attacks in their own countries.

The attack on the church comes six months after Al Shabab commandos carried out the September massacre in Nairobi’s Westgate mall in which at least 67 people were killed.

The group said the carnage was retribution for Kenya’s military role in Somalia.

The latest attack also comes just days after police arrested two men with a vehicle stashed full of large quantities of powerful explosives prepared in pipe bombs, which experts said would have been strong enough to bring down a major building.” Read more.

Muslim Apologists Concerned About The Growing Response To So-Called Scientific Evidences For The Qur’an

For the past few decades, Muslims have been relying heavily on so-called ‘scientific evidences’ for the divine inspiration of the Qur’an. The claim is that, because the Qur’an contains numerous scientifically accurate statements that couldn’t have been known by Muhammad, the Qur’an must be the Word of Allah.

The problem is that the Qur’an doesn’t contain a single scientifically accurate statement that couldn’t have been known by Muhammad. Indeed, the Qur’an contains precisely the sort of nonsensical material we would expect from a seventh-century illiterate caravan trader.

For instance, the Qur’an claims that the sun sets in a muddy pool (18:86), that semen is formed between the backbone and ribs (86:6-7), that the earth is flat (88:20), that there are seven earths (65:12), that the sun orbits the earth (36:38-40), that human embryos are blood-clots (22:5), that the sky would fall on the earth if Allah didn’t hold it up (22:65), and that stars are missiles that Allah uses to shoot demons who try to sneak into heaven (37:6-10; 67:5).

Authorities said in court documents that Akbar Jihad Jordan and Avin Marsalis Brown planned to travel to Syria and Yemen to fight for Islam. Federal law prohibits conspiring to kill or maim people outside the U.S.

FBI agents seized several weapons, including an AK-47 rifle and a sword, along with ammunition from the apartment off Gresham Lake Road that Jordan, 21, shared with his mother.

Airplanes equipped with electronic monitoring equipment have been circling the area where Jordan lives for about a month, flying the same path for up to eight hours a day.

WRAL Investigates tracked the planes’ registrations to a company known to have ties to the FBI. Airplanes belonging to the company and its known affiliates were also spotted in Boston in the days following the marathon bombing last April.

Radar records for every plane connected to or owned by the companies with FBI connections were searched, and two clearly showed a circular flight path. It’s unclear whether those flights are connected to ongoing investigations.

FBI agents moved on the alleged conspiracy involving Jordan and Brown this week because Brown, 21, was about to leave the country, court records show.

Brown was arrested Wednesday at Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and he told investigators that he planned to fly to Turkey and then travel to Syria, according to court records. He made his first court appearance Thursday morning.

One person was taken into custody during the north Raleigh raid, but it’s unclear whether it was Jordan.

A motion filed in federal court noted that Jordan, who is listed as Akba Jordan, is in a hospital, but it’s unclear what he’s being treated for and which hospital is treating him.

Confidential informants told the FBI that Brown and Jordan, a 2011 Millbrook High School graduate, began talking last May about going overseas to engage in jihad. Jordan ‘functioned as a type of physical fitness, firearms and tactics instructor to Brown’ and often displayed a cache of weapons and ammunition in his apartment, records state.

Jordan even stated at one point that he slept on his kitchen floor with an AK-47 and a Quran to empathize with Muslims in Syria.” Read more.

RAWA News – “A new report on human rights in Afghanistan released by the U.S. State Department reveals that girls as young as six can be ‘married’ away or betrothed and are the victims of frequent sexual abuse from older men, sometimes within their own families.

Although the Taliban have a reputation for religious conservatism, that conservatism does nothing to protect women and girls from the sexual depredations of men. Women and girls are commonly victimized and those that speak out are likely to be blamed themselves, regardless of age differences.

Afghan law requires that girls be 16 before they can marry and boys 18. Such laws are rarely respected and about 60 percent of all girls are forced to marry before 16. Since most of the marriages in Afghanistan are unregistered and few people even have birth certificates, it is virtually impossible for the government to enforce the law.

Other Afghan laws designed to protect women from abuse also have little enforcement.

In 2013, incidents of rape also increased in Afghanistan. Most of the victims were children.

The Taliban argue that restricting child marriages is ‘un-Islamic.’ In their culture, it is perfectly acceptable to marry children or to promise them in marriage. Traditionally a girl may be betrothed, but the marriages are supposed to be delayed until puberty. However, this is not always respected. Also, early onset of puberty can occur in some girls, sometimes as young as eight.

Not only are these girls younger and physically unable to engage in healthy sexual relationships within the context of marriage, they are also psychologically unprepared for marriage, sex, and motherhood.

Girls who are promised in marriage can also be abused by their own family, especially if the intended groom is also a child -the young boy cannot defend his child wife from the depredations of older men.

Child marriage is an ancient practice for the region and it is part of the dominant culture. Typically, money is exchanged for the bride-to-be. However, it is now understood that such practices are very harmful. Girls and women in these situations are usually treated poorly, with several being badly abused or even killed each year.

Given the Afghan government’s lukewarm support of the official law and their inability to effectively rule outlying districts, it is unlikely these barbaric practices will change anytime soon.” Source – RAWA News.
