America Fiddles While Christians Are Being Slaughtered

How are Western governments supposed to stand up for persecuted Christians while acquiescing to the very religion whose sole purpose is to destroy them? …

Qur’an Sura 9:29-30, “Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, even if they are of the People of the Book … the Christians say: The Messiah is the son of Allah; these are the words of their mouths; they imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before; may Allah destroy them; how they are turned away!”

By Michael Brown, WND – “Have you heard about the disgraced NBA owner Donald Sterling? Yes? Perhaps even his mistress, V. Stiviano? Yes again?

Well, let’s check on world events.

Have you heard about the crisis in Ukraine? The sunken ferry in South Korea? The missing airplane in Malaysia? Yes to all? You’re doing great!

Let’s try some more. Can you tell me about the slaughter of Christians in Egypt? No? How about in Iraq and Syria? Oh, you didn’t know that Christians were being killed there?

Perhaps you can tell me how many Christians have been killed in Sudan in the last two decades? Not really? Not even sure where Sudan is on the map?

Then let’s try this. Have you heard of Boko Haram? Perhaps?

Maybe you’ve heard that strange-sounding name recently in conjunction with nearly 300 girls being kidnapped somewhere in Africa? Does that ring a bell?

Sadly, while America obsesses over the Donald Sterling scandal (which is certainly a scandal), and while we follow with interest the events in Ukraine (could Putin really be a Hitler in the making?), and while our hearts rightly break over the terrible loss of life in South Korea and the apparent (and also terrible) loss of life in the Malaysian Airlines mystery, we are all but oblivious to the suffering of Christians worldwide.

Sadder still is the inaction of our government when it comes to this Christian suffering.

Here is a sampling of recent, Christian suffering, just at the hands of violent Muslims:

* In Syria, Christians have been beheaded, crucified and killed in other horrific ways for refusing to convert to Islam. They are targeted by both Sunni and Shiite Muslims in the civil war there.

* According to an April 18, 2014, report, ‘Young Christian women [in Egypt] are facing a greater risk of being kidnapped by extremists, tortured, and even forced to convert to Islam since the Arab Spring ended in 2011. … It has been estimated by the ICC [International Christian Concern] and other watchdog groups in the region that there have been 500 reported cases of young women being attacked by Muslim men since 2011, but unreported cases could send the figure much higher. The girls are often assaulted, raped, kidnapped, forced to change their faith and sometimes killed, the ICC said. Making matter worse, nothing is being done by local authorities to prevent it in provinces across Egypt, according to officials from both the ICC and the Clarion Project, a U.S.-based nonprofit think tank and advocacy group.’

* In Iraq, Open Doors reports that, ‘Since the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003, the situation has been continuously deteriorating, with anti-Western (and as such anti-Christian) sentiments mounting and levels of violence by Islamist militants on the increase. … Only an estimated 330,000 Christians are left of more than 1.2 million who lived in Iraq at the beginning of the 1990s. Large numbers have either fled abroad or to the northern Kurdish region as a result of the severe anti-Christian violence.’

* As for Sudan, which is located in northern Africa, while some Americans are familiar with the name Darfur, very few know that as many as 2 million Christians died in Sudan at the hands of Muslim armies over the last 20 years, and Christians are still being killed there today.

As for Boko Haram, a militant Muslim group in northern Nigeria whose name apparently ‘translates as the Sunni Group for Preaching and Jihad,’ they have recently come to the attention of our nation after kidnapping almost 300 Christian schoolgirls and threatening to sell them into slavery. Even President Obama weighed in on the atrocity, pledging help and support and telling ABC News that, ‘You’ve got one of the worst regional or local terrorist organizations in Boko Haram in Nigeria killing people ruthlessly for many years now.’

The problem, of course, is that Boko Haram has indeed been murdering and maiming and pillaging ‘for many years now,’ yet most Americans are only hearing about it now. Yet we know who V. Stiviano is, and we have an opinion on the Donald Sterling scandal?

Something is very wrong when we know more about Kim Kardashian’s latest fashion statement than about the slaughter or kidnapping of hundreds of Christian children in Nigeria.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney was quoted in a May 6 story as saying, ‘These girls [in Nigeria] were captured and kidnapped 22 days ago, and time is of the essence. Appropriate action must be taken to locate and to free these young women before they are trafficked or killed.’

What? Twenty-two days after the fact he says that ‘time is of the essence’? This bears eloquent witness to our national apathy and indolence when it comes to the plight of our Christian brothers and sisters worldwide.

Where was our outrage in late February when Boko Haram Muslims ‘stormed a Nigerian secondary school campus … locked a boys’ dormitory and set it on fire, killing those who tried to flee and burning the rest alive’?

You say you didn’t hear about that? You didn’t hear about the screams of dozens of schoolboys who were burned alive? But you’re aware that Jimmy Fallon replaced Jay Leno and that Stephen Colbert will be replacing David Letterman? Isn’t there something terribly wrong with this picture?

It is reported that, ‘Since 2009, the Boko Haram insurgency has killed thousands of people in its campaign to rid [Nigeria] of Western influence and impose strict Islamic law,’ yet most of us are just finding out about their murderous deed today.

Don’t we owe it to our persecuted and martyred brothers and sisters worldwide to learn about their plight and, at the least, raise our voices and prayers on their behalf? Visiting sites like Voice of the Martyrs and Open Doors and International Christian Concern is a good place to start.” Source – WND.

How many that call themselves Christians here in the western ‘civilized’ countries even know, think about, or even really care that people in foreign lands are being Persecuted? TRAGICALLY it has been my personal experience that the all too common attitude amongst those in (c)hristiandom here in “Amerika” is – Who cares about someone in some other country (that they often don’t even know or care where it is) – after all, they are not one of “us four and no more”, they are not a member of our congregation, they don’t even belong to our denomination, they do not speak English, and they are just a bunch of heathens anyway who probably aren’t really Christians anyway.

Harsh words – ABSOLUTELY YES – but go and read about what GOD himself tells us the world will be like in these ‘last-of-the-last days’ in which we are living – RIGHT NOW – TODAY:
2 Thess 2:1-9 of ‘the falling away’,
2 Tim 3:1-9 tells about ‘perilous times’
and in Luke 17:26-29 about ‘the days of Noe and the days of Lot’.
(I personally recommend reading in the KJV, for the words are plainly spoken.)

Let all of us who are truly converted born-again CHRISTians be ‘set apart’ and actually do how and what “THE LORD GOD” tells us to do – wherever we may be, or whatever our ‘denomination’ – think about, remember, sincerely and often pray for, and actually help our persecuted CHRISTian Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ (Mark 9:40-42 – KJV) who are living, being Persecuted, and when called upon – willingly dying for their true Faith in “THE LORD JEHOVAH” – in more than 65 countries around the world – TODAY!!!
Yet it has been written about our Persecuted Brethren: “Those who boldly follow (The LORD Jesus) Christ—in spite of government edict or radical opposition—can face harassment, arrest, torture and even death. Yet CHRISTians continue to meet for worship and to witness for (Jesus) Christ, and the church in restricted nations is growing.”

    1) It has been reported that persecution against CHRISTians around the world doubled in 2013 from that in 2012, and there was more persecution in 2012 than what happened in 2011 – and 60% of the Persecuted are CHILDREN.

    2) Although no one knows the exact number – except “THE ONLY WISE GOD” – it has been reliably reported that from mid-2008 thru mid-2009 there were 176,000 CHRISTians Martyred for The LORD Jesus Christ!!!

    3) These figures mean that more than 2,000,000 (TWO MILLION) CHRISTian men, women, boys, and girls have already been murdered since the year 2000 – Martyred for believing in the Living LORD Christ Jesus!!!

    4) It has also been reported that in the year 2012 approx. TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY MILLION CHRISTian men, women, boys, and girls suffered persecution – WHY?
In some of these countries it is illegal to even own a Holy Bible,
or to share your faith in The LORD Jesus Christ,
    or to change your faith,
or to teach their children about The Saviour, Jesus Christ!!!

How close is Persecution of CHRISTians to those of us in “Amerika”:

    1) If you live in Key West, FL persecution is occurring TODAY – 90 miles away in Cuba,

    2) If you live in TX, NM, AZ or CA – CHRISTians are being persecuted in a number of the states in Mexico,

    3) In Canada you can go to jail for repeating what GOD tells us in His Holy Word – that being a sodomite is a sin: (In the KJV “sodomite” specifically in: Deut 23:17; I Kings 14:24, 15:12, 22:46; II Kings 23:7 – described in Romans 1:24-32) – and the laws are even worse in nearly all western European countries

    4) Have you seriously thought about the ‘hate crime’ laws already enacted here in “Amerika” means the near certainly that real and terrible persecution of CHRISTians is going to occur at anytime.
Please take time to listen to Bro. Paul Washer’s 3 minute & 47 second comment @ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8BtVP37SWqs

It is time for all that are truly converted, blood-bought, born-again believers in The LORD Jesus Christ – CHRISTians – here in “Amerika” and other ‘civilized’ countries’ to actually live out our faith in our Saviour – whether or not we ourselves are ever persecuted:
“But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.”
    (James 1:22 – KJV)

A thought – If we do not pray and help for our Persecuted Brothers and Sisters, will “THE ONLY WISE GOD” cause them to NOT THINK of us if we come under Persecution?
