By Tarek Fatah, Toronto Sun – “In the aftermath of Islamic jihadis — the Boko Haram — enslaving Christian school girls in Nigeria, the Muslim intelligentsia, instead of doing some serious introspection, has chosen to exercise damage control. Columns by my co-religionists have appeared in newspapers ranging from the Toronto Star to The Independent in London and on CNN.com, where they avoid any reference to Sharia laws that permit Muslims to take non-Muslim female prisoners of war as sex slaves. The fact is Muslim armies throughout history have been permitted under Islamic law to make sex slaves of non-Muslim prisoners. Here is chapter 33, verse 50 of the Qur’an: ‘O Prophet! We have made lawful to thee thy wives to whom thou hast paid their dowers; and those whom thy right hand possesses out of the prisoners of war whom Allah has assigned to thee.’ When asked for a clarification, A Saudi cleric issued a fatwa permitting sex slavery. He said: ‘Praise be to Allaah. Islam allows a man to have intercourse with his slave woman, whether he has a wife or wives or he is not married … Our Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also did that, as did the Sahaabah (his companions), the righteous and the scholars.’ In the eighth century, when Arab armies invaded India, they took thousands of Hindu POWs as slaves back to the Caliph Walid in Damascus, who distributed the women as gifts to the newly emerging Arab nobility. The ninth-century Persian historian al-Baladhuri writes in his book The Origins of the Islamic State that when the Arab general Muhammad bin Qasim invaded India in the year 711AD, the non-Muslim prisoners taken were given a choice of death or slavery. Sixty thousand captives were made slaves in the city of Rur, among whom were ‘thirty ladies of royal blood.’ One-fifth of the slaves and booty were set apart for the caliph’s treasury and dispatched to Damascus, while the rest were scattered among the ‘army of Islam.’ The nineteenth century Indian Islamic scholar Abdullah Yusuf Ali, whose translation of the Qur’an is considered the most authentic, had the courage to be honest when he put a footnote to the Quranic verse mentioned above: Read more…

Ottawa: Jordanian Muslim Visiting Canada Has Sudden Urge To Go On Rape Spree

CBC News – “Ottawa police have charged a 25-year-old man who was in Canada on an expired student visa with six sexual assaults across the city that happened over a 14-month period.

Yousef Hussein, 25, was charged with six sexual assaults that happened between August 2012 and October 2013. (Facebook)

Yousef Hussein, who also owns a small company called RJ Moving, is charged with six counts of sexual assault, three counts of overcoming resistance, two counts of breaking and entering and two counts of committing an indecent act.

Hussein made a brief court appearance by video on Friday and is scheduled to return to court on May 21.

His lawyer told reporters his client was a Jordanian national who had never had any interaction with police before. Hussein’s wife was also in attendance at the courthouse.

Police sources said they were led to Hussein after a man living in the same west Ottawa apartment building called them after seeing a surveillance video police released in the winter.

Police then tracked Hussein and later searched his apartment. They also asked for suspects to come in for saliva samples and polygraph tests to narrow their suspect list, sources told CBC News.” Read more.

By Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch – “Representatives Keith Ellison (D-MN) and André Carson (D-IN), the nation’s two Muslim Congressmen, and a host of Muslim leaders, many with ties to Hamas and the Muslim Brotherhood, have published an open letter condemning Boko Haram, the Party of the People of the Sunnah for Dawah and Jihad, as un-Islamic, and calling upon the group’s leader, Abubakar Shekau, to release the girls the group has kidnapped.

The U.S. Muslims’ argument is based on the claim that Boko Haram kidnapped the girls because they were seeking an education, while in Islam both men and women are enjoined to get educated. This neatly avoids the real objection that Boko Haram has to girls (and boys) getting educated: that the education they were getting was Western in style and orientation, rather than based on the Qur’an and Islam. And once again we see Muslim leaders condemning the kidnapping of these girls without even mentioning the Qur’an’s allowance for a man to have “captives of the right hand” with whom he can have sexual intercourse (4:3; 4:24; 33:50. etc.). It would be refreshing if even once these “moderate” Muslim leaders would address these passages and explain how Boko Haram and other Muslims who kidnap girls and use them as sex slaves are misunderstanding and misusing the Qur’an. KFYI News – “n Anthem high school senior was arrested for threatening his fellow students at Boulder Creek High School, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Nicholas Goettl, 18, tweeted ‘For my senior prank I’m going to bring an AR15 to school and kill everyone.’  Other Twitter postings included one of which contained a yearbook photo and underneath Goettl’s picture read: ‘I bear witness that there is no god but God. I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.’

He has been charged on a count of Hoax, a class 4 felony.  When interviewed by officers, he allegedly admitted to posting the messages.

‘Our school patrol posse is in place to work towards ensuring the safety of students on campus and neutralizing threats to their lives,’ said Sheriff Joe Arpaio.” Source – KFYI News.

By Josh Saul, New York Post – “An elderly Pakistani immigrant beat his wife to death with a stick after the doomed woman made the mistake of cooking him lentils for dinner instead of the hearty meal of goat meat that he craved, according to court papers.

Noor Hussein, 75, was so outraged over the prospect of eating the vegetarian fare that he pummeled his wife, Nazar Hussein, 66, inside their Brooklyn apartment until she was a ‘bloody mess,’ prosecutors said in opening statements of his murder trial Wednesday.

‘Defendant asked [his wife] to cook goat and [his wife] said she made something else,’ court papers said.

‘The conversation got louder and [his wife] disrespected defendant by cursing at defendant and saying motherf–ker and that the defendant took a wooden stick and hit her with it on her arm and mouth.’

Defense attorney Julie Clark admitted Hussein beat his wife — but argued that he is guilty of only manslaughter because he didn’t intend to kill her. She said that in his home country, beating your wife is customary.

‘He comes from a culture where he thinks this is appropriate conduct, where he can hit his wife,’ Clark said in her opening statements at the Brooklyn Supreme Court bench trial. ‘He culturally believed he had the right to hit his wife and discipline his wife.'” Read more.

Nigeria: Islamist Bombings Leave Scores Dead In Jos, May Be Single Biggest Atrocity Yet

By Monica Mark, The Guardian – “At least 118 people were killed in the central Nigerian city of Jos on Tuesday after two bombs ripped through a business district packed with commuters and traders.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the explosions, but the bombs bore the hallmarks of other attacks by Islamist sect Boko Haram, which has recently stepped up a bloody five-year battle campaign to establish a caliphate in northern Nigeria, and kidnapped more than 300 schoolgirls from a remote north-eastern school in April. In the past month, the group has set off two bomb blasts in the capital, Abuja, and another in the country’s second city, Kano.

Abdulsalam Mohd, of Nigeria’s national emergency management agency, said ambulances and volunteers were ferrying wounded and dead from Terminus, an area home to a teaching hospital, shops, offices and a market. He said the death toll was likely to climb as victims were still being pulled from smouldering rubble at the scene.

‘It happened very close to the market so most of the victims were people plying their trade. Some had children with them,’ he said by phone from the scene, above the wail of sirens.

‘The casualty figure is likely to rise because the fire service wasn’t able to clear all the rubble today. They will continue to remove the debris tomorrow and we are expecting to recover more bodies then,’ he added.

That could push the death toll close to Boko Haram’s single biggest atrocity yet, a multiple-bomb attack in Kano which killed 170 in January 2012 . The attack suggests that the group, which started with hit-and-run home-made explosives thrown from motorbikes, is seeking to make a show of its capabilities before the elections scheduled in 2015.” Read more.

Iran: Religious Police Arrests Six For Being ‘Happy’

By Ari Yashar, INN – “In the West it would be considered an innocuous albeit amateur tribute video to singer Pharrell Williams’ massively popular song ‘Happy.’ But in Iran, a video of six men and unveiled women dancing in Tehran to the hit song was enough to be arrested over.

‘Sol Production’ posted the tribute video on Monday to YouTube, which has already garnered nearly 40,000 views. Iranian police wasted no time in tracking down the happy Iranians, arresting them on Tuesday according to Al Arabiya.

Ironically the video contains a message of happiness overcoming all, including the lyrics: ‘Here come bad news talking this and that,/ give me all you got, and don’t hold it back,/ I should probably warn you I’ll be just fine,/ no offense to you, don’t waste your time.’ The bridge to the song’s chorus repeats: ‘Bring me down, can’t nothing/ bring me down, my level’s too high.’

Apparently Iranian police rose to the challenge of ‘bringing down’ the joyful Tehran residents, who wrote in the closing of the video: ‘we have made this video as Pharell William’s (sic) fans in 8hrs, with iPhone 5S. ‘Happy’ was an excuse to be happy. We enjoyed every second of making it. Hope it puts a smile on your face.’

Tehran police chief Hossein Sajedinia did not have a smile on his face as he said ‘after a vulgar clip which hurt public chastity was released in cyberspace, police decided to identify those involved in making that clip,’ reports the official ISNA News Agency.” Read more.

Lying Wonders: Saudi Cleric Claims To Find Cure For MERS, AIDS, Leukemia …

No word if this “cure” only takes effect after the sick have memorized the Qur’an …

Al Arabiya News – “As Riyadh declared four new deaths from the MERS coronavirus and 18 new infections on Thursday, a Saudi cleric has claimed that he has found a cure for the deadly virus, prompting ridicule on social media.

Abdullah al-Amrani told al-Hayat newspaper in an interview published Tuesday that he had ‘succeeded’ in finding an herbal cure derived from Islamic medicinal practices.

‘I am confident of its effectiveness and [its] ability to cure stubborn diseases and viruses including MERS,’ Amrani said, adding that he tried his medicine one two patients – one with AIDS and the other with Leukemia – and both were relieved of their ailments.

The claim sparked ridicule on Twitter with one user joking that it’s part of the religious clergy’s business expansion to health sector.

‘You have expanded your business from trading on religion to health and medicine, but please don’t say you have a cure of MERS or AIDS,’ the Twitter user said.

‘God willing, the Virus will disappear soon thanks to the discovery of the preacher from Tabuk,’ another Twitter user remarked.

The preacher is not the only cleric to issue a statement on the virus that has so far killed 121 people in Saudi Arabia.

Last week, a cleric derided people for wearing protective face masks, saying the measure won’t help.

‘I went to the airport yesterday and I saw a big number of people who were wearing masks, I go to the market and I see people wearing them as well,’ Mohammad al-Arifit said during his Friday prayer sermon.” Read more.
