In a post-modern era, the impulse that drives violent behavior is often associated with mental illness. To explain the propensity for terrorism in any way other than through a naturalistic construct is anathema to secular society, so violent Muslims claiming to attack and kill others in the service of Allah are therefore “mentally ill” or “mentally disturbed” and nothing more. In an embarrassing twist of irony, however, unbeknownst to the politically-correct blathering of the willfully ignorant, classifying such behavior as a “mental illness” automatically classifies the “prophet” whom these violent Muslims have modeled their own behavior after as mentally ill himself. After all, the more seriously Muslims take their faith, the more they’ll want to be just like the “prophet” who inspires them all …
